Britney Will Appear ON Glee

Britney Spears is set to play a cameo role in an episode of TV musical comedy “Glee” that will be devoted to the pop star’s music, the show’s creator Ryan Murphy said on Tuesday (Aug. 10).

But the episode in the upcoming second season of the hit television show will not poke fun at the former pop princess and her meltdown three years ago, Murphy said.

“Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode. She is going to join us for a couple of scenes,” Murphy said in an interview with Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest.

Murphy did not say what character Spears, 28, would play in the episode, which he described as “reverential…and so kind…We are handling Britney with kid gloves”.

The Britney Spears-themed episode follows “Glee” tributes to the music of Madonna and Lady Gaga earlier this year, although neither of the pop singers appeared in the show.

Murphy said the music of Spears — who became a worldwide phenomenon 10 years ago with hits like “Oops..I Did it Again” — would play out as fantasy sequences. Some of the “Glee” high school show choir characters will be in the dentist’s chair and will hallucinate about being like the singer.

Spears, whose life spiraled out of control in 2007 and 2008 after a short-lived marriage and two children, made her comeback with the 2008 album “Circus” and a successful world tour. She has since adopted a much lower public profile.

“I really admire what she’s done with her life and how she’s turned herself around,” Murphy said. “Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she’s been through a lot.”

“Glee” features a misfit bunch of high school kids in a choir show that sings versions of pop, hip-hop and Broadway songs. It has been nominated for 19 Emmy awards and returns to U.S. television in September. No date has yet been announced for the Britney Spears episode.

Murphy also sought to quash widespread rumors that he is working on a Michael Jackson-themed episode in February that will be broadcast immediately after the 2011 Super Bowl — the biggest annual TV event in the United States.

He told Seacrest he would like to do a Jackson episode, but said “I don’t have the rights to that, and at this point it is really hard to clear Michael Jackson music.” Rights to Jackson’s work and image are strictly controlled by the executors of the late singer’s estate.

Murphy said he would alternatively love to use the music of Prince or The Beatles for the post-Super Bowl episode.

Britney Goes To The Theatre Dressed Up

Getting all dressed up for an afternoon outing, Britney Spears and her boyfriend Jason Trawick paid a visit to the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday (August 7).

With the “Womanizer” songstress looking lovely in a long blue frock while her former manager beau donned a spiffy suit, the cute couple joined Britney’s trusty security staffer in watching a showing of “‘The Lieutenant Of Inishmore”.

As for “The Lieutenant of Inishmore,” the stage production is a black comedy by playwright Martin McDonagh, which was first produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in London in 2001.

The Los Angeles version happens to star actor Chris Pine, who wraps up his run in the show this weekend.

Britney To Release Song Soon!

It’s been almost two years since Britney Spears released Circus, and it would seem that the singer is getting ready to follow it up. According to producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who is reportedly working with the singer on her next studio album, new music should be coming out soon.

“Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks,” Darkchild revealed in a Ustream session over the weekend, according to Ace Showbiz. Earlier this year, a new Spears album was rumored for this summer, but no new music has surfaced this year except for a demo version of Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” that Spears recorded for a previous album.

A rep for Spears had not responded to MTV News’ email for comment or confirmation at press time.

Predator Dub Assassins confirmed that they too have worked with Spears in a tweet that said, “Co -Writing on a track for Britney Spears ft Akon. WTF ?! What is gonna happen next?”

In a tweet chat with her fans in May, Spears was asked what artists she would like to work with in the future. She said, “Would love to do a duet with Robbie Williams… where are you?”

“We’re getting things together,” producer/songwriter Danja told RapUp.com in June. The two have collaborated on Spears’ last two LPs, with Danja behind Britney’s 2007 single “Gimme More.” “I’ve actually been doing tracks that I love, and I can’t wait to go into full production mode, but more or so [we're in] pre-production than anything,” he said.

“I’m definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, uptempo, high-energy,” he added. “That’s what I think we need and that’s what I’m gonna shoot for.”

Glee Talks About Britney Episode

MTV reports Much like “Glee” ’s Madonna-themed episode, the hype building around the show’s Britney Spears tribute is growing. Show creator Ryan Murphy and cast members Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison recently dished some details about the upcoming “Britney/Brittany” episode, which is scheduled to air September 28.

“I just started directing it today at 5 [a.m.], which is why I look like hell,” Murphy said during the TCA Press Tour on Monday, according to Zap2it. “She is arguably the most important female [musician] other than Lady Gaga in the last 10 years, so we’re sort of doing an episode not only of her music but also her public image.”

Murphy explained that most of the younger cast pursued music backgrounds due to Spears’ impact on pop culture. “All the kids on the show, many of them went into singing and dancing because of her. At the heart of it, it’s a show designed to show off the skills of Heather Morris, who plays Brittany,” he said.

“It was [Britney's] idea. I think she loves what the show’s about, paying tribute to pop culture in a very loving, respectful, kind way. She responded to that,” the show’s creator continued.

Murphy has previously described the tribute as “hallucinogenic,” saying, “We’re paying tribute to her in a sort of fun and unexpected way.”

“Glee” star Lea Michele spoke to “Access Hollywood” about the music-jammed episode and it appears that the intercoms of William McKinley High School will be transmitting nonstop Spears for the show. “I just read the script last night. It was awesome. It’s gonna be a big episode. I called Ryan [series creator] this morning and said, ‘How are we gonna do this?’ There’s like 15 music videos within this episode, like the Madonna episode. I’m super-excited and I’ve always loved Britney Spears, and I get to do something really cool,” she said.

“What I loved about the episode is there’s old songs, there’s new songs, and Ryan also does what was really cool in the Madonna episode, how he took a song and had the boys sing it. He does the same thing with Britney and I can’t wait to hear it because the idea sounds so cool,” Michele continued.

And as the old saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The actress revealed that she’s “re-creating a Britney video” but couldn’t mention which one.

While Michele was always ready to put on her schoolgirl outfit, Matthew Morrison, who plays Glee club director Will Schuester, wasn’t originally too keen on an episode devoted to the singer. “I like Britney. I got in trouble earlier for comments I made saying I’m anti-Britney, but I’m not,” he told E! Online.

Morrison’s comments will now be part of the episode’s storyline. “I think in this episode, they’re going to mirror those comments and I’m going to be very anti-Britney in the episode because I don’t like what she represents. … It’s gonna be a lot of fun and some crazy stuff is gonna happen.”

Glee Star Doesn’t Want Britney Episode

Glee star Matthew Morrison has confessed he hopes show producers do not decide to dedicate an episode of the hit US TV show to Britney Spears.

The actor, who plays Will Schuster has objected to ideas from Britney’s management to give the If You Seek Amy singer’s music a Glee makeover.

Spear’s manager, Adam Leber has begun a campaign to get a special Britney Glee tribute, tweeting: “Do you guys want to see a Britney episode?”

However, the 31-year old actor has slammed his attempts, telling US Weekly Magazine: “That’s a rumour her manager started. I hope our show doesn’t go along that route.”

Unluckily for Matthew, it seems that Glee executive-producer Brad Falchuk is warming to the idea of a Britney themed episode telling Zap2It that he is ‘considering’ the possibility.

He stated: “The stories always come first and we need to start breaking those stories next week and figuring out what the episodes are for season two,”

Falchuk added: “And we’re very intrigued by Britney. She’s a pop icon, so it’s hard not to perk your ears up when she comes a-calling.”

Kendra “Really Loves” Britney Released Pre-Photoshop Pics

Kendra Wilkinson says she “really loves” that Britney Spears released pre-Photoshop pics from her old Candie’s shoot.

“I might do that too hahahahaha..scary!!!” she Twittered Thursday.

The E! reality star, 24, then added: “On my show, i show the untouched all the time..i love bein real n showin my flaws.”

So does Spears.

London’s Daily Mail reported that the singer wasn’t afraid to show the before-and-after Candie’s pics because she “is proud of her body — imperfections and all.”

Spears’ pics weren’t drastically altered: Seems her waist and thighs were given a slight nip and tuck and her backside was shrunk. Her legs also appeared shinier in the retouched ads.

Ke$ha Slams Britney

After slamming Britney Spears in an interview over her lip-sync performances, Ke$ha is once again overheard blasting the “Circus” singer. This time around, the “Blah Blah Blah” hitmaker is dissing Britney in a song called “Styrofoam”.

“In 10 years, Britney Spears…Britney, who?,” so the lyrics which take aim at the pop singer heard at around 2:15 mark. “Styrofoam” reportedly is an unreleased song which was leaked from Ke$ha’s “Animal” recording session.

“I don’t think that’s fair at all for people who are going to see the show. I think if you are going to be a singer, you should sing. If you are going to be a dancer, you should dance,” Ke$ha previously told the Daily Record. “It’s treating people as if they are too stupid to realize you are not actually singing.”

Britney Caught Jason Cheating?

Britney Spears is single again after splitting from boyfriend Jason Trawick who she refused to marry in Sydney after she caught him with two other women.

Hollyscoop.com reports Spears was reportedly “distraught” after she found out Jason had been flirting with two women at Los Angeles’ bar Roger Room and is now refusing to take his calls.

Ella Davis, who was at the bar at the time, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Jason left the bar with two bottles of water – and a stunning blonde who looked like Britney.

“He had his arms around her and they looked very much like they were together for the night.”

Jason’s friends say they’re shocked by his behaviour because he’s been very “loyal” to Britney so far.

A source added: “Jason’s a great guy and super loyal. This behaviour is really out of character. But Los Angeles is a small town and word soon got back to Britney he’d had a wild one.

“When she heard he’d been caught cozying up two girls in The Roger Room, it was the last straw. Jason’s really not like this and quickly tried to calm Britney down and rectify the situation. He explained the girls were just friends and there was nothing in it but they still had a massive row.

“Everyone is assuming it’s over – for the time being anyway.”

Britney Works Out In Make Up?

Popstar Britney Spears, who was recently crowned the biggest star of the past decade, just can’t get enough of her diva image as she was reportedly spotted working out with full make-up.

The 28-year-old singer, who is currently dating her manager Jason Trawick wore mascara and lipstick on a recent visit to the gym.

The Toxic hitmaker also sported unbecoming jet-black hair, was on a treadmill and doing crunches at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood the other day with her mother, who used dumbbells, New York Post reported.

“Britney worked up such a sweat, she looked like Heath Ledger as the Joker,” a witness said.

Celebrity publicists Adam Weiss and Todd Shapiro told Britney, “You’re an inspiration” to which she scoffed, “Yeah, right!”

With both their careers having recently been swirling a self-inflicted and well-deserved drain, Britney Spears and Annie Leibovitz are now working as one.

The 60-year old lens guru, who nearly lost her entire life’s work through horrendous investments, has landed her first paid engagement since avoiding that cliff — Shooting Britney’s new ‘Candie’s for Kohl’s’ clothing campaign.

Famous for her peculiar demands for a session [She snapped Whoopi Goldberg, naked in bath full of milk and stood Sting in the desert, covered with mud so he could barely be seen,] Hollywood Life says Annie had Britney pose in various stages of undress, supported by a soundtrack that included Madonna, Prince and even the late Michael Jackson.

Britney’s manager and dad, Jamie was on hand the whole time during the low-key session, which happened on Thursday at the Paramount lot in L.A. Also there was Brit’s agent and boyfriend, Jason Trawick who was said to be subdued but clearly concerned as Brit got down to work with the fame-molding legend.

This is Annie’s first real gig since her legal issues relented – Last Summer she was facing bankruptcy and a mountain of bills, plus a $24-million lawsuit from her financiers, the Art Capital Group. But Annie reworked the terms of the deal that would have given ACG the rights to all of her works and their lawsuit was dropped in December.

In 2008, Britney Spears placed second on our Woman of the Year countdown, mostly because she managed to keep her career together in the face of bad press, very public meltdowns and a pair of court cases. This year, she made the list for entirely different reasons: Not only did she keep her career on track; she took it to triumphant new heights with a sold-out world tour, record-setting singles and a string of videos that dropped jaws and raised temperatures. Spears did it all in 2009, and she did it her way.

2009 Highlights: After months of hype — and a legal hurdle or two — Britney kicked off her big-budget Circus tour in March, with a triumphant show in her (sorta) hometown of New Orleans. A two-hour, four-act spectacle, featuring scores of dancers (and even more costume changes), a massive stage, pyrotechnic displays that would’ve put Metallica to shame, a martial-arts sequence and a cameo by Perez Hilton, Circus was a gleefully over-the-top show, wowing critics worldwide and proving that Spears was back and better than ever.

The Circus tour was Spears’ most triumphant moment of the year (it didn’t hurt that it ran for nearly all of ‘09), and its success served as the launching pad for the rest of her comeback. Sultry singles like “If U Seek Amy” (with its censor-tweaking chorus) and “3″ (the lone new track from The Singles Collection) were smashes. She was also savvy enough to poke fun at both herself and the public’s perception of her, with high-profile cameos on “The Late Show With David Letterman” and Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour.

Among her other newsworthy feats, Britney raged against smokers during her Circus tour stop in Vancouver. She earned seven nominations at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, including a Video of the Year nod for “Womanizer,” and flirted telepathically with VMA host Russell Brand. Her music inspired director Quentin Tarantino during the filming of his “Inglourious Basterds.” And she even launched her very own iPhone app, complete with “sparkler feature.”
