Hey everyone, my name is Amar. I have been a fan and reporting fan sites with news back since Britney first became a huge star. While I had a different nickname back then, I'm still the same person as before. A lot has changed since then, I'm a senior in college majoring in Finance and Marketing while maintaining a full time job.

“How I Met Your Mother” Producers Want Spears As Regular

According to unconfirmed reports, SFGate reports that the bosses over at “How I Met Your Mother” were so impressed with Britney’s appearance, they want her to be a regular on the show next season. Forget a third appearance, could Britney be a full time regular cast member of the show?

Britney Spears’ second appearance on the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” has further impressed the show’s producers, who think her performance as ditzy receptionist Abby was even better than her debut.

The show’s bosses now want Spears to consider a regular role on the sitcom, which enjoyed its best viewing figures ever when Spears first appeared in March.

Sources claim Spears is very popular with the cast and crew on the show.

Co-creator Craig Thomas says, “She was better than the first time.

“(Viewers have seen) that the door is still open for her to come back.”

  1. I think Britney did a good job on How I Met Your Mother as for a regular I don’t think that would be a good idea for Britney or for the show.

  2. It’s one of my favorite shows even before Britney, so I would be so happy and excited if she was a regular!

  3. As a person with bipolar disorder, I think it would be great for Brit to get a regular gig on the show. It would keep her in pop culture, but be a stable, regular schedule where experienced cast and crew can perhaps be role models of stability and maturity for her. Yes, lol, I know the show is not so mature, but that’s just the show. But this would be a supervised use of her talent and eliminate the frenzy, while keeping Britney in the public eye if should she want to make a comeback as a pop star when she is healthier. An established routine is essential for the recovery of any person whose mental health is compromised by circumstances and/or illness. (Okay, I’m done now. :)

My question is, if Britney really did go on vacation with Mel Gibson and his wife, did Brit’s father, Jamie, give her permission as his conservatorship requires? If so, he must really trust Mel.

I pray for Britney and so hope good things for her! :)

  4. She needs to take her music more seriously before taking any more acting gigs…. I think she is better as a singer than an actor.

  5. Suz, I know that you mean well, but you have no idea that she’s bipolar, or even mentally ill. You don’t have access to her medical records and any diagnosed condition she may have has never been made public, if any such thing exists. All we know is she hit a rough patch.

She doesn’t need her father’s permission - he is with her in Costa Rica.

  6. Hi Dan. You’re right: I don’t know that Britney has Bipolar Disorder or any diagnosed mental illness. That being said, I did not say she did. However, as a previous psych nurse, board member and facilitator of the nation’s top-rated depression and bipolar support group, and mental health patient, I can make an educated guess. And amid all the guessing and wondering and “commenting” (which is all this: a comment), I wonder at your knee-jerk response to my post. It sounds like perhaps I hit a nerve, or that maybe you are reacting to the stigma surrounding mental illness, and mood disorders in particular. More people around you suffer from them than you think.

And I am rooting FOR Britney! :)

  7. HI BRITNEY IM SO VERY PROUD OF YOU SWEETIE AND HOW HARD YOU ARE COMING IN GETTING YOUR LIFE BACK IN ORDER. GOD BLESS YOU AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOVED BY SO VERY MANY.
    HUGS,
    NONNY TO TWO GRANDBABY BOYS

  8. Suz, except for the “mental health patient” status, I have a similar resume’ in the clinical psychology field, except I am not “previous.” My response to your post was not “knee jerk” in any sense. And yes, you did say she was bipolar — putting that term in the context you did is the same as a declaration to readers that she is bipolar. That is reckless and irresponsible.

I don’t attach any stigma at all to mental illness, but many do. Attaching speculative labels to Britney’s mental health status reinforces the ignorance. Your educated guess needs a little more education and a little less guess work.
