Justin Timberlake Breaks Silence On Ex-Britney Spears

The Post Chronicle reported that an upcoming interview in GQ magazine has Justin Timberlake, one of their 2003 men of the year, slamming his old girlfriend, now married and pregnant with baby number 2, branding the singer at the time of their highly publicized relationship as disloyal. The former N-Sync singer, now soloist, Timberlake, who is recently rumored to have put a huge engagement ring on the finger of now current galpal Cameron Diaz, broke up with Spears in 2002. He apparently remains amazed at how quickly it all ended, says the story. Timberlake tells GQ magazine, "When we initially parted ways, I felt like she had a couple of opportunities to just sort of stick up for me, and she didn't."

Britney Wants To Perform Again

AP reported that Britney Spears, who is pregnant with her second child, says she's not ready to retire from performing. "I can't wait to do that again," Spears, 24, tells Harper's Bazaar in its August issue, on newsstands July 25. "But I really have to take my time and do it right and be safe. Actually ... not that safe. When you perform, you have to be dangerous." The pregnant pop princess also says she would "definitely" consider a musical collaboration with her husband, Kevin Federline, 28. His debut hip-hop album, "Playing With Fire," is expected to be released next month. "I'm so proud of Kevin," Spears says. "He's been working so hard on his own album since I got pregnant with Preston," the couple's first child, who was born last September.

Keving Earned $700,000 In Four Month

MSNBC reported Kevin has been earning extra cash by charging to show up at soirees; his fee for a cameo, according to In Touch Weekly, is a whopping $20,000. And Spears is reportedly thrilled that, with Rent-A-Kevin and other gigs, her former back-up dancer actually has an income. In fact, Federline has supposedly earned $700,000 in the last four months. Among K-Fed’s other paying gigs, according to ITW: an estimated $250,000 for endorsing clothing line Blue Marlin and $25,000 per day to hawk such products as Virgin Mobile cell phones, where he made his infamous plea to save the penny. He’s negotiating to sign a deal with Jive Records, which happens to be Spears’ label, for $300,000 per album, and he also hopes to bring out his own line of jeans and beach jewelry. With Federline raking in all this cash he reportedly did something that once would have been unthinkable: When he and Spears recently went to a restaurant, ITW claims Federline actually picked up the tab.

Britney Sells NYC Apartment For $4 Million

New York Post reported that after a couple of years and a few price cuts, mom tart Britney Spears is finally unloading her NoHo penthouse apartment. The four-level, 4,400-square-foot pad in the famed Silk Building, which she originally put on the market in July 2004 for just under $6 million, has just gone to contract for $4 million, according to sources familiar with the deal. Spears' eight-room condo at 14 E. Fourth St., which most recently had a $4.5 million asking price, has three bedrooms and 41/2 baths, and features 13-foot ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, a large rooftop terrace and a solarium. She paid $3 million for the place in 2002, after it was listed for $4.85 million just before 9/11. Corcoran Group broker Chris Toland, who brought in the out-of-town buyers, would only say the apartment looked as though it hadn't been occupied for some time. The apartment was previously where Rolling Stone Keith Richards crashed and, after that, Russell Simmons called it his crib. The Silk Building has also been home to Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and Cher. Adam Modlin of The Modlin Group, perhaps best known as Alex Rodriguez's broker, had the listing but had no comment.

Kevin May Sign With Jive Records

ContactMusic reported that Kevin is reportedly in talks with his wife's label Jive Records. The former dancer announced plans last year (05) to become a rapper, but has so far failed to land a record contract. However, the New York Daily News reports Federline, 28, is hoping Jive will welcome his musical attempts with open arms. A source says, "Nothing is definite yet, but it looks like K-Fed is going to keep it all in the family."

A Rival Publicist Pitches To Britney

Daily News reported asked if Britney Spears in PR meltdown? And is her rep, uberflack Leslie Sloane Zelnik, to blame? That's a rival publicist's pitch to Spears' manager, Dan Dymtrow, in a possibly misguided attempt to steal the Brit account from Zelnik while leaking the smoking E-mail to this column. After Lowdown shared 5WPR exec Tracey Nguyen's E-mail with Zelnik, Zelnik phoned her would-be rival and laced into her. Nguyen stood her ground, but everybody's ears are still burning from the nuclear exchange. Zelnik was mad because Nguyen trashed the PR work for Spears' much-derided gum-chewing, mascara-smudging interview with Matt Lauer. Nguyen wrote to Brit's manager: "I would NEVER allow any of my clients to do an interview, let alone such an important one as the one that Britney just did, without being there to make sure that the questions that were being asked were appropriate, and also to make sure that she looked her best on camera at all times." Offering to handle Brit "for less than what your current publicist is charging you and do 10 times better of a job," Nguyen claimed: "A perfect example that I can present is what I was able to do for Lil' Kim. Two years ago, no one wanted to touch her. She was perceived as a raunchy rapper who had gone way too far with her plastic surgery. … I see Britney today in the same position that Kim was once in." Britney Spears is the same as a convicted felon? Zelnik shot back: "She must not have taken PR 101, where they teach you: When you're trying to steal other people's clients, don't diss your own." Sadly for Nguyen, Spears is staying put.

Pink Dedicates Song To Britney

Entertainmentwise reported that Pink gave a very public good will message to Britney Spears by dedicating a song to her fellow pop star at her Los Angeles gig this week. The singer preceded a rousing performance of 'Get The Party Started' by telling the audience she had always loved Britney so wanted them to join together and send Spears "good energy and love because she could use it right now". However, not all of the crowd at the Avalon venue felt Pink's goodwill, with some of them laughing at the suggestion.

Britney to Leave Malibu, Return Home to Louisiana

National Ledger reported that Britney is trading in one LA for another La. The former pop star still loves Malibu but the entire trappings that go with Hollywood may be too much and she will return to her native state of Louisiana In Touch is reporting. "She wants to come home," says Kentwood mayor Harold Smith. "She's building more rooms for her growing family. She wants a nursery and some kids' rooms." In a story set for publication this week, the magazine claims that even husband Kevin Federline supports the move, which may help solve some of their marriage problems. Britney Spears has learned just how hard caring for a baby can be, the report reads. This time around, she wants more help - so she's planning to move back home to Kentwood, La., to be closer to her mom, Lynne. Britney wants Lynne to help with the kids, but Kevin’s wary. "He likes Lynne but doesn't like her getting involved in their relationship," an insider tells the magazine.. Britney, whose second child is due in September, is pouring $200,000 into Serenity, the house where her mom lives, and she hopes the small town life will help calm K-Fed down and strengthen her marriage. A pal says, "She loves Malibu but feels she'll end up divorced if she stays there — at least for now."

Britney Shocked About Second Pregnancy

The Bosh reported that Britney recently confessed she was shocked when she discovered she was pregnant with her second child. The singer admits it took the approval of husband before she could get excited about the prospect of childbirth again, less than a year after son Sean Preston was born. She says, "I was shocked because it was so soon and I was a little scared at first. Yes, I was very surprised.
