Britney Spears gives Prince William the brush-off
AFP reported that Britain's Prince William has failed to win the heart of US pop
star Britney Spears, judging from an interview with the German illustrated weekly
Bunte in which she gives him a gentle but definite brush-off. "He is sweet, but
I don't like castles," the 18-year-old singer is quoted as saying. Life together
with a royal does not appeal to Britney, it seems, despite a letter Prince William
wrote to her, a letter she sent back and subsequent telephone conversations. "I
want to be able to just take a subway to Greenwich village to go and eat a hamburger.
Maybe I'm a screwball, but I'm no princess." The young songstress also makes clear
in the interview that she intends to abstain from sex before marriage and save
herself for the right man. "I hope I don't make a mistake and that I manage to
stay a virgin," she reportedly said. Thanks hoopsmagic.

Another Britney article in Honolulu Star-Bulletin
Honolulu Star-Bulletin has another article
titled "Thousands of fans pack Waikiki to cheer Spears".Some 10,000 people packed
the beach in what may be the largest concert ever staged there. Carol Ann Butan,
17, and friend Cecile Lazarous, 18, both of Pearl City, arrived at the Hilton
at 7 a.m. yesterday to get the best spot they could find outside the VIP area.
Slated for 6 p.m., the concert started closer to 7, but they didn't seem to mind.
The event was free after all, with segments being taped for a "Britney in Hawaii"
special to air on Fox June 8. The Hilton beach was jammed by early afternoon yesterday
with the concert still several hours away. Two hours before the scheduled start
time, roads in and out of the ewa end of Waikiki were jammed to near gridlock.
Hundreds of motorists parked at Ala Moana Center and Ala Moana Beach Park, trekking
a mile to find a spot on the crowded beach. After her eight dancers performed
5 minutes of feverish dancing, Spears rose from a pedestal to the top of the stage
amid explosions and fireworks. She wore a low-cut top and pants with a heart applique
on her okole. In two hours, Spears sang all or part of nearly a dozen songs, mostly
from earlier albums, with a few from her yet to be released CD "Oops I Did It
Again."
Britney Spears Gets Milk
For their first experience working together, SNI and Winnaman & Associates fostered
a successful brand building deal between Britney Spears and the Milk Board. Through
Britney's endorsement, ten million locker posters will be given away as gifts
with purchase to consumers who buy two quarts of milk. Additionally, through a
sweepstakes consumers will be eligible to win hundreds of prizes, ranging from
Britney and Milk merchandise to a grand prize trip to meet Britney in person.
Point-of-purchase displays, shipper displays, ad slicks and tear pads will appear
in more than 20,000 grocery stores across the country. In addition, the promotion
will be featured in 6,000 schools across the country. "I've grown up drinking
milk and have a glass everyday. It's healthy and tastes great, that's why I want
to encourage more kids to make it part of their daily routine," said pop star
Britney Spears. "I am excited to have this opportunity that Signatures Network
brought to me."
SNI and Winnaman & Associates have also finalized a deal between Britney and her
tour title sponsor, Polaroid. SNI inked a picture perfect partnership with Polaroid
to sponsor the current Britney Spears (You Drive Me) Crazy tour, as well as her
summer concert tour which will showcase her highly anticipated sophomore album
release in May. The Polaroid I-Zone Pocket Camera, which Britney will use on stage,
is the official tour camera. The sponsorship includes print advertising, online
promotional tie-ins and retail displays featuring Britney.
Spears' Friends To Go on Tour
AP had an article that said Britney Spears says she stays grounded with the help
of three childhood friends. "A lot of people change," the 18-year-old pop diva
said, "and a lot of people try to change you. But it's very important to stay
grounded and be yourself." Those friends are accompanying her on the Hawaii leg
of a month-long tour promoting her new CD, "Oops ... I Did It Again." Spears entertained
thousands of fans at a free Waikiki concert Monday, part of a ``Britney in Hawaii''
FOX TV special that will air in June. The singer also said she is getting used
to her packed schedule since the release of her hit CD, "... Baby One More Time."
"It's fun being me," she said. "Of course, there are a lot of bad days. But I
try to be positive. I have a lot of good days, as well."
Britney's Hawaiian Concert Recap
Will Miller just got back from Britney's
Hawaii concert. With an opening similar to the MTV VMA's, Britney shot off her
Hawaiian concert with a bang. She sang the MTV medley of BOMT/Crazy, then Crazy
(Not the remix), then, stopping for a pause, let Destiny's Child sing their hit
single "Say My Name". Returning to the stage, Britney sang Sometimes, Oops, and
another single from her upcoming CD, Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know. Following
up with The Beat Goes On, and a special treat that people have never seen before.
Each of her dancers came out one by one and danced to a song of their choice,
Bye Bye Bye, Livin La Vida Loca, Bugaboo, and Britney came out with a Rolling
Stone's song. Britney then finished off the concert with Baby One More Time, with
the famous punch ending. Immediately after her concert, she rushed to her room,
not to come out again. Will did however get some good pictures from his spot in
the VIP section, at least one of each song, and as soon as they are developed,
we will hae them up.
Update: We got five pictures of Britney
in Hawaii, just having some fun and performing.

Britney article in Honolulu Star-Bulletin
Honolulu Star-Bulletin had an article
titled "Britney Spears the centerpiece of a mock luau". There she was, shiny belly-button
ring and all, in a teeny, tummy-baring sarong and matching top, turquoise bead
anklet, all smiles and giggles. Britney Spears, America's pop flavor of the last
several months, took a seat up front at one of several tables alongside her dancers
and back-up singers Saturday night with about 100 lucky fans and a Star-Bulletin
photographer and reporter. Some 36 call-in winners from three Honolulu radio stations,
including Spears' Jive Records contact here KQMQ 93.1, occupied 10 tables just
makai of the Hilton Hawaiian Village's lagoon. Dozens of security guards kept
uninvited guests and other news media a football field away from the taping location.
The mock "luau" at the Hilton Hawaiian Village will be part of Spears' hourlong,
Fox television special, "Britney in Hawaii" which will air June 8. Although the
tables were set for a full luau, including bowls of poi, fresh fruit, lomilomi
salmon, and haupia cake, production executives advised the audience the food,
though real, was scenery, not for eating. Plates, silverware, glasses and napkins
sat unused during the 90-minute taping. The luau switched into high gear when
more than 150 members of Hula 'O Hokulani, of Mililani -- ages 3 to 25 years --
danced for Spears and buddies. Thanks Pop
Divas 2000 for the article.
Britney weighed down by career pressures
Virgin Net is reporting that Britney Spears is feeling the pressure of being a
multi-millionaire pop star at just 18 and is praying her success continues - because
she is scared of her record company. The teenager broke the US record for the
most requested track by American radio stations in history with her single Oops!
I Did It Again this week - but has admitted the responsibility of producing hit
after hit is getting to her. She said: "I have to try and not think about the
pressure and just do my thing but it is really tough. We brought out the new song
because it's so hard and powerful so it was inevitable it would be next." Meanwhile,
Britney has put her movie plans on hold - because she does not think she is successful
enough as a singer. Despite a string of number one hits the teen star is determined
to prove she is not a passing phase in the music industry and a proven artist
who is here to stay. So she has turned down possible roles in Dirty Dancing and
Grease 3 to focus on making music. Thanks A51JM.

'N Sync Plan Duet With Britney Spears?
Launch.com has an article
up talking about a duet between 'N Sync and Britney Spears. Do you think if pop
music superstars and Jive Record label mates 'N Sync and Britney Spears got together
for a duet they would sell a few albums? 'N Sync member Lance Bass told LAUNCH
that Jive has faith that a duet by two of their chart topping acts would do extremely
well. "There has been talks about it," he admitted. "I think it would be one of
the hottest songs ever, I think. I would want to do something like a Janet Jackson/Michael
Jackson 'Scream,' where it's very edgy and very dance-oriented because she's such
a performer. I think it would be a great collaboration." Bass revealed to LAUNCH
that he even discussed the duet idea with Spears recently: "I actually was talking
about that with her just the other day, because she's releasing her album in May,
and we're going to be doing our album in August and September. And I was, like,
'Okay, this next album, we're going to write something, and it's gonna be a killer,
killer duet.' So, maybe on the next album." Thanks A51JM.

Britney has bought her second home in Britain
FoxNews.com reporting that Britney Spears
has gone and done it again, she has just bought her second home in Britain. Last
month, the singer bought a £1.5-million mansion in Gloucestershire. Now, it seems
she can’t get enough of life over there and has splashed out another seven-figure
sum on a five-story home in trendy Primrose Hill in North London, it has been
reported. Britney is currently in Britain to promote her fifth single, "Oops I
Did it Again" with her mom, Lynne, 45, who travels with her wherever she goes.
According to the Daily Star report, she has wasted no time in getting the builders
in to renovate the detached house. The 18-year-old is thought to want a London
base for her frequent visits to Britain, where fans bother her less than in the
United States. One thing seems certain she has taken to the British way of life.
In March she agreed to buy a country home in Gloucestershire, which is just 20
minutes drive from Prince William’s weekend retreat at Highgrove. The buy fuelled
speculation that the pair who have been writing to each other to organize a date
could get together when she next visits. But the prince, despite his renowned
dashing looks, may have some competition. The Daily Star reports that at Wednesday’s
Capital Radio awards, after seeing pop star Robbie Williams, she admitted: "I
think he’s very cute."

addition to the Britney Spears tour this summer. The video for "Dancing Queen,"
the group's current single, will world premier on The Disney Channel today at
5:55 PM and repeat Sunday, April 16 at 5:55 PM. "Dancing Queen" was a #1 hit for
ABBA back in 1977 and is given a thoroughly modern update by Marie Serneholt,
Sara Lumholdt, Dhani Lennevald, and Amit Paul, the members of A*Teens. The video
version is a witty send-up of the classic 80's film "The Breakfast Club," with
one of the movie's original stars, comedian Paul Gleason, reviving his detention
hall teacher role. The group's MCA debut album, The ABBA Generation, arrives in
stores May 16. Thanks A51JM.

Britney Ponders BOMT Follow-Up
MTV News has
put up an article about Britney, where she talking about her "Oops!... I Did It
Again" album. You would think that selling ten million albums would afford you
a bit of breathing room. However, a little over a year after delivering her debut
smash "...Baby One More Time," Britney Spears is feeling the pressure of following
up that album's huge commercial success.
"It's kind of hard following ten million, I have to say," Spears told MTV News
when her tour rolled into Chicago recently. "But after listening to the new material
and recording it, I'm really confident with it."
That new material will surface on May 16 on "Oops!... I Did It Again," an album
Spears recorded in Sweden and Switzerland with producers Max Martin and "Mutt"
Lange.
Glimpses of the new album have come with Britney's new video for the album's title
track, as well as her recently completed Spring tour. Spears had been rolling
out "Oops!..." in her set, as well as a new song called "Don't Let Me Be The Last
To Know," a ballad that saw Britney perform atop a flying carpet.
"That was awesome," one fan gushed of Spears' high-flying act. "It was like 'Genie
In A Bottle,' Britney on a rug."
Spears wrapped up her tour last weekend in Charleston, West Virginia, and now
plans to return to the road on June 15 for a summer tour in support of "Oops!..."
"I can't wait. I'll have a world tour," Spears said. "I'm going to have more dancers,
a bigger stage, more pyro… just a lot bigger."
TRL Debut at #2
Britney fans are just the best! We all showed our support and got Britney's new
song 'Oops!...I Did It Again' to have a TRL Debut at #2. She got 19% of the email
requests and 25% of the phone requests (from Unofficial
Trl). This has been the highest debut from Britney on TRL. "Baby One More
Time" debuted @ #10, "Sometimes" debuted @ #8, "Crazy" debuted @ #4 and "From
the Bottom of My Broken Heart" debuted @ #3. The reason she wasn't at number one
was because *NSYNC got more votes. Please continue to show your support and keep
voting for her on MTV's TRL.

Nigel Dick Answers Questions about Oops
Robbie who runs the BritneySpears.org Newsletter, emailed Nigel Dick, some questions
about Britney's video, 'Oops, I Did It Again'. Here are the answers, which are
also posted on Nigel Dick's official web site.
Q74:) Was the concept for Britney's "Oops, I Did It Again" originally an idea
for "Baby One More Time"? (Robbie)
A: No. I spoke to Britney on the phone and she said she wanted to do a dance video
on Mars with a cute guy (but no spaceships please). Then I had to figure out how
to get the Titanic bit into the story!
Q73:) How did the camera fall on Britney's head during the making of "Oops, I
Did It Again"? (Michelle)(Robbie)
A: It didn't. The matte box (the bit at the front of the camera) did fall on her
head from about five feet - an unfortunate incident which I hope is never repeated
ever again in my career. I was very upset but as always Britney was a real trooper
and after a rest and some stitches was back dancing soon after the mishap. She
was not rushed to hospital, there wasn't blood gushing everywhere and it didn't
happen in the middle of the night as has been reported!

Britney Balks At Reports Of College, Film
MTV News has
a good article about Britney, which basically clears up alot of rumors surrounding
her plans for the future. Those plans, don't include movies or college. Right
now she is focus on her upcoming albun "Oops... I Did It Again," which hits stores
on May 16.
"While Spears has a new album and video on the way, some have speculated that
she might also be filling her time with textbooks and screenplays. The "Atlanta
Journal-Constitution" recently carried a rumor that Spears was accepted into the
freshman class at the University of Georgia for the fall of 2000. However, a spokesperson
for Britney's record label, Jive Records, notes that UGA is just the latest college
to be linked to Spears via the rumor mill, and that once again the rumors are
false. Jive notes that while "college is always an option" for Spears, the singer
currently has no plans to leave the limelight for school. Spears won't be going
Hollywood either, at least not in the immediate future. Online rumors have linked
the singer to a remake of the 1987 Patrick Swayze flick "Dirty Dancing" among
other projects. Once again, Spears' spokespeople say that the rumors are just
that. Jive Records notes that while scripts continue to come in to the young star,
she currently has no solid plans to pursue any of them. Instead, Spears is focused
on her new album, "Oops... I Did It Again," which hits stores on May 16. Britney
will premiere the first video from her sophomore effort on April 10 on MTV's "Making
The Video.""

Oops I Did It Again Video Info Summary
Basically what we had said yesterday but A51JM put all the info in a nice summary
paragraph. OK this is what we have heard what the 'Oops I Did It Again' video
maybe like. Britney is out of this world on different world. There is an astronaut,
a controller, and two fire-eaters. Sounds like a great looking video. The video
was shot on March 17 through March 19 at Park Stage 24, Universal Studios, Studio
City CA. You know this is gonna be huge since they had to use a stage for TV shows
and such. Also making it look even more better Nigel Dick directed it and it was
choreographed by Tina Landin. Be sure to check the episode of "Making The Video
of Oops I Did It Again" which airs next week on April 10th at 10:30 p.m.
