Britney Spears and Shania Twain Collaborating
Britney Spears and Shania Twain have collaborated on the teenager's new album, dotmusic exclusively revealed today. Twain has been writing alongside writing giants Max Martin and Diane Warren on Britney's new album, which is as yet untitled. The first single from the album will be 'Oops! I Did It Again', will be released in March. The album is also expected to feature Britney's first songwriting effort, entitled 'Dear Diary'.
Jive Records and BMG Deal is in Trouble
New York Post is reporting that the long-standing deal between Jive Records and BMG is in trouble. Zomba Group's Jive Records -- home to such hotshot young acts as the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and *NSYNC -- is in preliminary talks with Warner/EMI to ink a contract once its distribution deal with BMG expires at the end of the year. Warner and EMI, which are expected to merge after they gain regulatory approval toward the end of the year, are trying to lure Clive Calder's Jive into the fold with either a sweet distribution deal or an outright acquisition, sources told The Post. One industry insider said the new music powerhouse will offer Calder as much as $900 million for the independent label, which has been burning up the charts with teen pop sensations.

Britney nominated for Kids Choice Awards
Britney is a nominee for the Kids Choice Awards on Nick. She is nominated for "Favorite Female Singer" and "Favorite Song." Also Will Smith is up for four Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, including favorite male singer, and favorite song for "Wild Wild West." Among the artists earning multiple nominations include Britney Spears, N 'Sync, Jennifer Lopez, Smash Mouth, and Christina Aguilera, who is up for favorite new music artist. Aguilera won the Grammy for best new artist earlier this week. The awards show, now in its 13th year, will be broadcast April 25 from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Britney Spears Candy Announced
Famous Fixins today announced that it has forged a three year worldwide licensing agreement with singing sensation Britney Spears. An exciting new line of candy/novelty products, Britney Spears CD Bubble Gum will be launched to coincide with Britney's concert tour, slated to begin in March 2000. Her second album has a planned release date of sometime in May 2000. The entire new product line will be available domestically and internationally in most major retailers and music chains. A portion of the proceeds from this product will be awarded to the Giving Back Fund, a charitable organization of Britney's choice. Famous Fixins President Jason Bauer, added, "We are very pleased to launch this new line of products around Britney. It's amazing how much she has accomplished so early in her career, and we believe she will be a major force in the music and entertainment business for years to come. Britney to have Biggest Tour this Spring
Cincinnati Post are saying that the biggest spring tour are going to be Britney Spears (March 7), Bruce Springsteen (April 30) and Tina Turner (May 27). "It is already a busier than usual spring at the Firstar Center hosting three of the biggest spring tours with Britney Spears (March 7), Bruce Springsteen (April 30) and Tina Turner (May 27)." Grammy Awards Update
Britney wore a sleek white Randolph Duke dress with matching fur wrap. She definitly deserves to take home best dressed. Both MTV and Rosie both mentioned Britney's outfit and look.
Britney lost the best Female Pop Vocal Performance award to Sarah McLachlan and lost the Best New Artist Award to Christina Aguilera.
Britney had the best performance of the night! It began with a close-up of a tiny blonde girl in a chair, watching the 32nd Annual GRAMMY Awards show on television, dreaming that one day she'll be up on the GRAMMY stage herself. From there, Britney slips into FTBOMBH before joining the silver life-size puppets and dancers for "...Baby One More Time."

Class Of 2000 Poster
MTV announced a Class Of 2000 Poster. In a bit of last-minute business before the Grammy Awards are handed out on Wednesday night, many of this year's bumper crop of Grammy nominees got together on Tuesday in Los Angeles for a unique photo op. Britney Spears, 'NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Puff Daddy, and Limp Bizkit were among the artists who joined "Total Request Live" host Carson Daly for a "TRL Grammy Class of 2000" portrait snapped by noted fashion photographer David LaChapelle. Tyrese, Destiny's Child, the Goo Goo Dolls, and numerous others also sat for the portrait, which will be featured as a poster available at MTV.com. Sales of the $6 poster will benefit various charities, including NARAS' music education initiatives and groups working with MTV's anti-violence campaign "Fight For Your Rights: Take A Stand Against Violence." The poster is available at the MTV store.
Britney to cover Satisfaction
Sonicnet is reporting that on the LP, due May 16, Spears, who recently turned 18, will cover the classic "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, rockers old enough to be her grandfathers. "[It] was my idea [to record the song]," Spears said on Monday. "I was just like, 'I like this song,' and I think it will be a really cool combination working with [hip-hop producer] Rodney [Jerkins] and doing a really funky song like that. We're going in to work on it after the Grammys, so I don't have a clue how it's going to sound." Spears is recording with a variety of producers on the album, including Jerkins, who will handle "Satisfaction," and Max Martin and Robert John "Mutt" Lange (Aerosmith, Shania Twain), whom Spears called amazing. The singer also has written her own song for the new record, the autobiographical "Dear Diary". "It's a personal song that talks about a girl who is interested in this guy, and she comes home every night and writes about it," Spears said. Britney buying £1.5 Million House in the UK
music365 is reporting that Britney has chosen a £1.5 million house in Gloucester as her British base. The house, Battlewood Manor, near the Cotswolds village of Charlton Kings is just 20 minutes from Prince William's residence at Highgrove. The 18-year-old star and the heir to the British throne, 17, are said to have emailed each other regularly since the singer found out Prince William was a fan of her music, and William wrote to her to ask her over to England for a meeting. It is claimed that the two have had to break off two proposed meetings at New Year's Eve and on Valentine's Day. The house Spears is rumoured to have chosen was put on the market last week. The present owner says there has been interest from a pop star but says he is not able to say who. The house has seven bedrooms, a billiard room, sauna, heated swimming pool, tennis courts and a coach house. The reports come after Spears is said to have looked at houses' in London's Primrose Hill.

Britney's North American Tour!
Jive Recording artist Britney Spears kicks off her North American tour on June 15th at the Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina to support her sophomore album which will hit stores May 16. The 48 city tour ends September 10 at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL. The first single from her sophomore album, is "Oops!...I Did It Again" and impacts at CHR radio on March 27. Britney Spears' upcoming appearances include The Grammy Awards on February 23, MTV's Grammy TRL on February 23 and the Grand Marshall of the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans, LA on March 4.

and North American Tour, few hours back. The first single from her sophomore
album, is ``Oops!...I Did It Again'' confirmed by Jive Recrods. So the rumor
that the single was supposed to be "Dear Dairy" were false.
Backstage at the Grammy Awards Britney did a rehearsal of the Grammy performance

Grammy website. - Even though the GRAMMYs are still several days away, rehearsals
have begun in earnest at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. On Sunday afternoon,
teen diva Britney Spears led a brigade of slinky, silver life-size puppets and
a slew of (real) dancers for an elaborate performance of "From The Bottom of
My Broken Heart," which quickly bursts into her breakout smash single "...Baby
One More Time." Spears and her dance crew ran through the performance several

Britney's Tour Tickets Go on Sale this Saturday Tickets for Britney Spears's
North American Tour are on sale starting this Saturday! Chicago is confirmed
by Britney that she will have a concert in Chicago on Friday, July 7, 2000,
at the New World Music Theater in Chicago, IL. Tickets for this concert go on
sale on Saturday, February 26, 2000, at 10:00AM central time. A51JM heard this
on his local radio station [92.7 kiss FM] today about 30 minutes ago so this
is correct and confirmed.
Also Stephanie confirmed that on her local radio show that she heard that Britney
has a concert on July 21st @ the Woodlands in Houston.
ADIDASobx1 confirmed Hot 101.1 in Youngstown Ohio announced today that Britney
was having a concert at the Odean on Aug. 21 at 7:30 with a special guest to
be announced.
laidback confirmed that she has a concert in Columbus, OH on Sept 3, 2000 at
Polaris Amphitheatre on Feb 26, 9 AM.

Britney adding dates for Spring Tour
Heard from good source that Britney added more concert dates to her concert
tour. Houston station Mix 96.5 said that Britney will come to Houston. That
is all that was said also I have a friend that lives in Houston and now she
is able to go to her concert because Britney is coming there because she heard
the same thing. The original concert tour schedule does not have Houston in
it. Yet this may be the World Tour that she is going to and if so that is not
news because Houston was already a date set for the World Tour. Although why
would tickets for the World Tour be selling this far off? Also anything of the
World Tour is still unconfirmed but all that is that there is a World Tour set
up for the summer.

Britney's first new single off the new album is gonna be "Dear Diary". The Making

Unconfirmed there is a summer tour being planned out. Since Jive
had to cancel her previous canceled World Tour starting in February because
of the new album recording unconfirmed there is talk of there being a summer

Christina and Prince William
According to the music365, Christina
Aguilera is now said to be battling it out with Britney Spears for the affections
of Prince William. Spears has already been in contact with William, sending
him emails and letters and invitations to her concerts. Last December Williams
sent Britney an invite to meet him when she comes to the UK on a tour in February.
He also hoped that she would be his date at a Millennium party being thrown
by his friends from Eton. Britney was touring and couldn't accept - but has
said she wants to meet up when her tour hits the UK. Now Aguilera is attempting
to gain William's attention. She recently sent the prince a package of goodies
including her telephone number and a life-sized picture of herself. According
to British tabloid newspaper the Daily Star an aide of Aguilera's said: Christina
has heard that Britney is trying to get close to Prince William. The two girls
have been rivals for years. "Christina has now focussed her attention on the

Jive Records And Cdknet Make Fans Happy
CDKnet today announced that Jive Records
recording artist, Britney Spears, has released her new CD single in Europe,
"From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" incorporating CDK 2.0 technology. The new
CD includes full-screen, full-motion video clips from the title track plus a
sneak peek of the never before seen video for "Born to Make You Happy" which
is Britney's current number one European hit. The disc also includes bio information
and exclusive photos of Britney. The audio portion of the disc can be played
in both a standard audio CD player as well as a computer CD-ROM drive. Thanks

Born To Make You Happy might not be released in the US as thought before.
Jive will start to promote Britney's new album when it debuts on May 16 around

TV Guide takes us inside the mind of Britney Spears in an article
they have on their web site. The article talks about a few interesting things,
like with What else gets Spears down? "Hormones, totally. I'll get into the
tub and have a bubble bath and just cry. I'll think, 'What's wrong? I should
be so happy.' After I have my little cry I feel better." Spears explains that
"people assume I'm some puppet and people are telling me what to do all the
time. When I first got signed to a record label, I was 15. So I did have some
help at first. But now, with experience and as time goes on, I know what I need."
The sultry teen icon, who has been linked with Britain's Prince William and
'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, says she's definitely looking to date a guy in
show business. "I think it would help a lot. Of course, if I met somebody at
McDonald's and I fell in love with him, I'd have to go with my heart. But it
would help being in the same industry, because you know what that person is
going through, scheduling-wise. Somebody else might not realize I'm really,
really busy all day long."
And what does the teen diva want for Valentine's Day? "My dream is to make a

Britney Calls Mom Over Bad Rumors
Associated Press reported that when you're 18, it's hard to read bad rumors
about yourself especially when they're on the news stand for all the world to
see, says Britney Spears. The pop star tells USA Weekend magazine in its upcoming
issue that any time she hears rumors or sees critical comments about herself,
she calls her mother. ``I'll call her up, crying. I'll be devastated and she
will help me deal,'' Spears said. ``It's so weird. Every week, there's something
in the tabloids. She's helped me just say, `OK, whatever.''' Spears urged other
teen-agers to talk to their parents and turn to them for help. ``Don't pay attention
to what you read or see on TV,'' she said. ``Just go with what you feel inside.
Pay attention to you. You're finding out who you are.''

Billboard Grammy Poll
Britney is nominated for the Grammy Award's Best New Artist. She is going
head to head with Christina Aguilera, Kid Rock, Macy Gray, and Susan Tedeschi.
So why not go show your support from Britney, by voting in the Billboard
Grammy Poll. Update: Some supporter of Christina is voting for Christina,
over and over again, by using some type of BOT or program. I watched the poll
for about 1 hour, and Christina's votes kept going higher and higher at an amazing
rate, which is just not possible. I would not be surprised if she got over 99%
of the votes once it all done. As of 2/14 at 6:00 PM Britney has 6% and Christina

Hollywood Fashion?
Chicago Tribune had an article that bashed the way Britney dressed at the
American Music Awards. "Lately I've been appalled at the way Hollywood teenagers
have been dressing! I cannot understand how the parents of these kids are letting
them get out of the house the way they look. This is beyond a fashion statement.
How could a young girl like Britney Spears wear the outfit that she wore for
the American Music Awards? If I wore anything similar to the clothing these
girls are wearing, I know that, first of all, my father would shoot me, and
second, my peers would think that I was a prostitute! I don't understand how
dressing this way could be called "style." This attire could be found in magazines
such as Playboy. The little girls of the world are looking up to these "role
models" thinking, "I want to dress like this" and "This is cool!" This attire

Britney's "Baby One More Time" debut album moves up from #17 to #15 on Billboard
200 Top Albums Chart. While D'Angelo's Voodoo beats out all the compition
at #1, Santana's Supernatural holds strong after 34 weeks on chart at #2, Dr.
Dre's Dr. Dre -- 2001 holds the same spot as last week as #3, while Celine Dion's
All The Way... A Decade Of Song holds #4 as last weeks, and holding down the
fort Christina Aguilera's Christina Aguilera rounds the top 5 at #5. Backstreet
Boys move up 2 from #14 to #12.
Britney is a no show on Billboard
Hot 100 Singles again with "From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart." Billboard
singles charts are determined by radio airplay so go support Britney and request
the song at your radio stations.
Britney on Best Buy's Pop to the Power of 16
Yet again there is another compilation CD with Britney in it. This time
Best Buy releasing "Pop to the Power of 16" which Best Buy will donate a portion
of its sale proceeds from the CD to B&GCA. Tracks will include songs by Backstreet
Boys, 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Spice Girls and Christina Aguilera. "Best Buy
will donate a portion of its sale proceeds from the CD compilation Pop to the
Power of 16! to B&GCA. To make the campaign even more impressive, The Best Buy
Children's Foundation will provide additional funds in support of the cause.
The fundraising campaign begins this Sunday, February 13 and will last 60 days.
The CD is available at Best Buy for $7.99. Pop to the Power of 16!, released
on Redline Records, features sixteen of today's hottest young pop stars and

Britney Comes Out
Dallas News
reported that Britney denies that she has implants and that she does not go
walking around in hot pants on the streets. After a week without media attention,
Britney Spears comes out and denies (sort of) to People that she's had implants.
She just gained some weight. Which just happened to go straight to her chest.
Really. More Britney news (is there ever enough?): Responding to criticisms
about her tarty image, she says, "I'm not going to walk around in hot pants
and a bra on the street." What a relief." Why are they bring up old events up
again? People cant leave the past in the past.
Britney on the cover of Nickelodeon Magazine

Wire reported that Britney will be on the cover of the March issue of Nickelodeon
Magazine. "The music world and the animal kingdom collide in the March issue
of Nickelodeon Magazine with a cover story on the reigning queen of pop Britney
Spears and a special pull-out prank issue of Rolling Stone entitled Rolling
Bone." The site also contains the picture of the cover of the issue. Yahoo
gives more information about the issue. "Britney Spears, the wildly successful
teen pop star and proud owner of three dogs, discusses her new album, upcoming
tour and distaste for fake people, and admits that she gets intimidated by fellow
celebrities at awards shows. She also seems to have some unpleasant feelings
about the Britney Spears dolls. When asked what she thought about them, Spears
said the following: ``It's a little weird. When I went home I saw my little
sister playing with my doll and I was like, `This is kind of freaky.' There
are a bunch of different ones out there and there's one that's funny because
it's so ugly. I know I'm not the prettiest person in the world, but this doll

Britney Dolls Selling Well
According to MTV Europe, the recently launched
Britney Spears dolls are selling well in shops in Britain, and it appears that
most of the customers are men. Almost 60,000 dolls have been sold, the most
popular version being the one with Britney dressed as a waitress. Even though
this version is only available in America, desperate men are believed to be
paying over £100 to get them imported. The full range includes 11 different
dolls, and another is planned, which will feature Britney in the leather outfit
she wore at last years MTV Europe Music Awards.
Britney's New Car
According to Britney's Mom at Britney Beat,
Britney is trading in her car (Mercedes SL500) for a convertible Jaguar. It
is very nice, it will arrive Thursday - but she won't be home to see it. After
doing some research, I found out she is getting a 2000 Jaguar XK8, which retails

Brit Cam Launched BritneyBeat at www.Britneybeat.com added a new video
called, Brit Cam. It is a video that was taken when like Britney is getting
her hair done, and then there is a part when her bodyguard, Rob, is dancing
on what looks like her tour bus. It also has lots of MTV Beach House Footage
which Britney's Mom, Lynne Spears, and Britney's little sister, Jamie Lynn also
came to with Britney. The site also has another new video taken from the Rockefeller
Center Tree Lighting with Britney singing. All great stuff all around so go

Awards Before the Grammy's even take place Britney is nominated for yet
another award. This time the Blockbuster Award. Britney is nominated for favorite
female - new artist and favorite CD. The Blockbuster Entertainment Awards honor
the lead and supporting actors and actress in top-performing movies, music artists
based on the year's best-selling albums, and the top video games of the year.
The awards will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles
in June on Fox. We do not know yet if Britney will attend the Award Show. Go

Christina Aguilera thinks Britney is Sweet
dotmusic had an article in which Christina Aguilera has attempted to diffuse
the supposed rivalry between her and Britney Spears, by insistng the pair are
completely different musicians. Aguilera, who takes on Britney at the Grammy
Awards later this year, also said she and Britney, who worked together on TV
as kids, were still friends. 'It is crazy that we were on 'The Mickey Mouse
Club' together and now we grow-up and we're competing in the same categories
for a Grammy,' she explained. 'I know the press and what not have always wanted
to make this sort of rivalry between Britney and I. But come on - we are very
different artists.' Christina insisted that in future, their careers would move
in different directions: 'People will see more and more how different we are,
so maybe that will stop this idea that we're competing with each other.' Britney
and Christina will go head-to-head for the Best New Artist and Best Female Vocal
Performance at the Grammy's. But Aguilera says there is no animosity between
them. 'I'm just so proud of her for making it this far. I can honestly say that,
because we were really close on the show, too. I've always known her to be a
really sweet girl,' she said.
Britney to perform at Grammy Awards
According to CDNOW, Dixie Chicks, Britney
Spears, Faith Hill, Kid Rock, and Whitney Houston have joined the list of performers
for the 42nd annual Grammy Awards telecast on Feb. 23 in Los Angeles. The latest
contingent of superstars join a list which previously included Ricky Martin,
Santana, Backstreet Boys, TLC, and Elton John (allstar, Jan. 31). On the presenters
side, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Neil Diamond, Gloria Estefan, and Vince
Gill are among the first names to be announced to be handing out the coveted
awards.

Britney's Autobiography
Boston Globe has an article about Britney's autobiography book. Never say
Britney Spears - or her handlers - aren't ones to strike while the iron's hot.
Not only is she a teen queen singer, she will be an author (with her mom, Lynne)
of an autobio called "Britney," to be released in May in conjunction with her
new CD. The press release breathlessly informs it's all "about how Britney became

Britney's New Song: Dear Diary
On TRL today after they played Britney's video which was number 6, John Norris
did a MTV news. When he talked about Britney he talked about her new album and
a song "Dear Diary." It had a little interview with Britney when she was a guest
on the show and she talked about the new album and she said that one of the
songs that she worked on personal was a song called "Dear Diary." Its about
a guy and a girl writing in her diary. When he said is it a personal meaning
about Britney she said kinda and said that its about a girl who writes in her
diary or journal about a guy which Britney knows.
Britney on Cover of People Magazine
Britney will be on the cover of People Magazine which will hit newsstands
tomorrow, Friday, February 4. "Like I'm really going to get breast implants
at 17. It's a personal decision and if women are doing it to make themselves
feel better, I think it's fine. But 16, 17, 18 is too young for any surgery."
That's teen pop star Britney Spears, in the current issue of People magazine,
talking about those rumors. Britney also says she likes push-up bras, which
explains a lot.
Britney on Access Hollywood
Access Hollywood had a news piece about Britney being in People Magazine. Britney
cleared up two very big rumors in the article. She has said that she has not
gotten breast implants. Also the rumor about Britney and Prince William is somewhat
true. Prince William, like an other guys adores Britney. But basically they
are only cyberpals, all they do is email each other. Maybe a relationship will
blossom from this cyber-relationship.
Britney and Christina Rivalry
Reuters has put up an article about the Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera
rivalry. They may not have quite as many nominations as Carlos Santana, but
teen pop divas Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are shaping up to be the
rivalry to watch at this year's Grammy Awards. Each of the multimillion-selling
singers has two Grammy nominations -- in the same categories. Both are up for
the prestigious Best New Artist award, and both are nominated for best female

Britney on the cover of Daily Star (A UK newspaper) today. It went like this:
Furious Britney Spears threw a childish tantrum when she saw her doll - because
she thought it was too ugly. The 18 year old American music sensation has followed
in the footsteps of the Spice Girls with the launch of her very own sell-out
miniature look-alike. But Britney said at first, the pint-sized eight inch figurines
didn't come up to scratch. Britney though the dolls made her look like "a bulldog
chewing a wasp." And she demanded they were given a makeover - to make them
look prettier.Britney admitted, "I saw the first ones and I know I'm not the

To Make You Happy - Britney Spears. "Following the huge 1.5 million-selling
success of Baby One More Time was never going to be easy, but Britney Spears
is giving it a good go. Born To Make You Happy reaches number one though some
slick and quick marketing (she still has little competition for the top spot
at this time of year when most pop acts are still on their extended Christmas
holidays or hibernating till summer). Sadly however, her singles do seem to
be getting decreasingly exciting. Where Sometimes and You Drive Me Crazy make
full use of her thoaty, pouty vocals, Born To Make You Happy doesn't tax her
talents at all; it's just a straight pop ballad and is nowhere near as catchy
as her other songs. And there's an unwelcome gospel choir on it attempting to
provide some excitement. Slightly dubious though her antics with school uniforms
and cheerleader's costumes seemed at the time, they did suit her a lot better."

The 2000 Juno Awards Show hits the Screen AND THE NET on Sunday, March 12
at 8 p.m., live from the Skydome in Toronto. CARAS is pleased to announce that
the hosts of the 2000 Juno Awards will be teen sensations, The Moffatts. These
teenage heartthrobs will bring their unique charisma and talent to a jam packed

Nugent/Kiss, and Steve Miller Band/J. Geils Band. There's also word of a Diana
