Britney and Madonna Feud
WENN reported that Britney Spears is still desperate to perform a duet with Madonna - but the pop queen won't return her calls. The media was rife with speculation of a collaboration last year after Madonna announced she wanted to duet with the sexy 20-year-old. The singers had a meeting and it looked like the project was going forward. But Britney has been left in the lurch by the MATERIAL GIRL who has taken to ignoring the LUCKY star. Pals say Madonna keeps sending Britney messages through her spokespeople saying she's too busy - and Britney is said to be furious.

Wade Robson Works Britney Hard
WENN reported that Britney Spears' choreographer Wade Robson is eager to treat the popstar to a trip back to her native Louisiana - because he feels guilty for overworking her. Wade, who choreographed Britney's sultry video for her hit track I'M A SLAVE 4 U, admits the gruelling routines he often puts her through have earned her the right to a well-deserved break at his expense. He says, "She works really hard and I'm part of the reason for that. "I'm a slave driver."

"Britney came home from her promotional tour for Crossroads. She was really excited about the trip and the people were all incredibly appreciative of her. But she was also extremely tired afterwards. Every moment was a busy one.

Britney went to England to do Top of the Pops. She also did CDUK, A Saturday morning teen show, and the Frank Skinner Show, which is much like our Late Night with David Letterman. Britney went to France to perform at the Grand opening of the Euro-Disney and appear at the Radio Awards Show there. She went to Germany to do several TV shows.

After the ten day whirlwind European trip, we met in Chicago Tuesday night. On January 23rd Brit and I taped The Oprah Winfrey Show, which will air on February 4th. Like everyone else, we were impressed by Oprah and her wonderful staff. That night we met Rob Robson for soccer lessons. She practiced stunts for three hours while I read a movie script. I have read the book the script was written from, and I think it should be a good movie. Britney had to learn some basic soccer skills in order to do a Pepsi World Cup commercial. After watching the lesson, I realized that I never would have mastered those soccer skills, especially in just one lesson!

The next day Britney shot the commercial in ten long hours. She only took a 45 minute lunch break. I am amazed at her stamina. Thinking of her upcoming four-day tropical vacation probably got her through the shoot. After the commercial wrapped, she promptly left for the much-needed vacation. The holiday site was beautiful with crystal blue waters, lush foliage, a luxurious hotel and absolutely no schedule.

Saturday Night Live is Jan. 22nd, this weekend. All week she’ll work on sketches for the show. Brit’ll be in New York again, but Bryan will be in North Carolina on business. They were hoping to get together. My children fly like most people drive cars -- too much! Even though, I too, am a frequent flyer, I am not a “good” one.

Justin is coming to see Brit on SNL. Laura Lynn and other family friends are coming to New York for the show as well. We’re excited about the trip. Hopefully, Brit and I will have time to go to some of the Sunday flea markets. Britney, Jamie Lynn and I love them."

Well what can I say? I 1st won a trip to see Britney Spears in Vegas and now this? This is just my year! I was always unsure about online contest..thinking I would never win. And I know the prize isn't anything really really huge, but still, it's just cool knowing Britney signed the CD I own now ya know? I'm going to start entering every contest I see online now, haha. Britney Plays Dress-Up In Super Bowl Ads
From SonicNet.com, If you've always thought Britney Spears was ahead of her time, here's your chance to take a backwards glance at the pop princess as she would have appeared at the height of the doo-wop explosion, the '60s beach-blanket blitz and the psychedelic Flower Power era.


Britney Spears will reprise her role as Pepsi pitchwoman in commercial breaks during Sunday's Super Bowl, according to a spokesperson for the soft-drink company. Spears will perform her renditions of Pepsi jingles past and present in "Now and Then," a 90-second spot that revisits the company's ad themes of the past five decades, including the late '50s dance craze and sleek '80s chic. The commercial is scheduled to premiere during the second commercial break of the first quarter of Super Bowl XXXVI, which takes place on February 3.


Fans can select the ad's encore beginning Monday (January 28). Britney's three favorite eras — "Doo Wop," "Surf's Up" and "New Millennium" — are competing for 30 seconds of airtime during the game's second quarter. Voting, which is taking place at pepsi.yahoo.com/britney, ends at midnight on Friday (February 1).


An online sweepstakes and charity auction offering props and costumes from these commercials and Spears' first Pepsi ad is being held in tandem with the new campaign. "Now and Then" memorabilia will hit the auction block at halftime with proceeds benefiting the Britney Spears Foundation.


Commercial veteran Joe Pytka, who directed the "Now and Then" campaign, helmed music videos for the Beatles' "Free as a Bird," John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "(Just Like) Starting Over" and Seal's "Fly Like an Eagle" from the movie "Space Jam," which he also directed.

Britney's Laughing Over TV Deal
According to Sky News, Britney Spears will be ditching her sexy outfits for more demure dresses when she appears in the US's most expensive TV ads next month.

The singer will be in the Pepsi commercials during the Super Bowl, American Football's cup final.

The slots are costing Pepsi £5.7m - or £63,000 a second - and Britney is said to be getting a sizeable chunk of that.

Jingles

But instead of showing her midriff, she will dress more modestly in the two slots which show her starring in US Pepsi advertisements from the 1950s to the present day.

She will be seen singing jingles from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, starting in black and white, then colour and wearing the outfits of the time.

Internet users will be able to choose between two 30-second videos representing the present day - although Britney will be dressed in a fringed outfit from head to toe in both.

Tight

The Super Bowl ads are the most expensive on US TV and are watched by the biggest audiences of the year.

This year Sir Paul McCartney is playing live at the game, which is taking place in New Orleans amid tight security.

Britney Trying To Ban Performance From Nickeloden
WENN reported BRITNEY SPEARS tried to ban a video of her performing at a awards ceremony - in case people thought she had breast enlargements. The OVERPROTECTED singer tried to stop footage of her signing at the 1998 US KIDS CHOICE AWARDS, filmed for America's NICKELODEON TV network, from being published - because it showed her with an abnormally large chest, according to British tabloid, the DAILY STAR. A source reports, "Britney's management said if the video was ever released she would never work with Nickelodeon again. "No one has ever legally seen it. The rumour is that Britney was worried people would think she'd had a boob job. "We're told she is not wearing a bra. Either way her breasts look surprisingly pert."

Britney To Star In Super Bowl Ads
BBC reported Pop star Britney Spears is to feature in some of the world's most expensive TV adverts. Pepsi are paying a reported $8m (£5.7m) for the two ads featuring the singer, which are being shown during American Football's Super Bowl this Sunday. The timeslots are traditionally the most expensive on US TV - the game has an average audience of more than 80 million. The first 90-second advert shows the singer wearing outfits and singing songs from the 1950s through to the present day. Fans of Spears are also being given the chance to vote on the drink company's website over which advert should be shown in the second timeslot. Advertising expert Michael Wolf believes the football event justifies the high cost. He told USA Today: "The Super Bowl is a unique viewing experience. Consumers really do expect entertainment from the commercials." He added that because of 11 September, US audiences want a return to normal sporting events. He said: "They want to feel like they are going to get the usual kind of Super Bowl experience." The Super Bowl itself will be a star-studded affair. Sir Paul McCartney will join Mary J Blige, Marc Anthony and Mariah Carey in the pre-game show. The former Beatles frontman will sing Freedom, the song he wrote after the 11 September attacks. U2 have also agreed to play at Louisiana Superdome on 3 February as part of the half-time entertainment. Spears' success is being mirrored overseas, after her latest single Overprotected went into the UK top 10 on Sunday at number five. She also made her first ever appearance on a UK chatshow on Saturday, when she was interviewed by Frank Skinner.

Again, according to WENN, BRITNEY SPEARS has revealed yet another talent - she's psychic.

In addition to singing, acting and writing, the American superstar has now admitted she's a budding mystic.

The pop chart-topper says, "I feel people's energy immediately. I know what they're about. It's kind of scary."

She continues, "My mum and I are in tune with things like that. Maybe it's genetic. Things have happened to me that I've dreamt of.

"Once I prayed for someone who was ill in my family. We hadn't spoken in a really long time, and I wanted to make a connection with her. At 7 o'clock the next morning she called, saying, 'I was thinking about you'."

And Britney's brushes with the paranormal don't end there. Her phenomenal success was predicted 10 years ago by a small-town mystic whom the singer visited while on holiday in New Orleans.

Britney recalls, "She told me, 'In 10 years time everyone will know your name. You're going to be this huge superstar'. I thought she was totally crazy, but I have to say, it was on my mind."

O-Town Slam Britney!?
According to WENN, American boyband O-TOWN have blasted the star making process behind artists like BRITNEY SPEARS.

But in an interview with British music website WORLDPOP, the band defended talent shows like POPSTARS, POP IDOL and their own MAKING THE BAND series.

O-Town's JACOB UNDERWOOD says TV Talent shows help kids define what is real and what is false.

He says, "False hope is when you put up a picture of Britney Spears and tell kids she looks like that naturally. That's the false hope."

He adds, "I think everything that's on television gives kids false hope. If anything our show does the opposite and shows them that anybody can make it...

"Kids can watch us and see that we're normal people with big dreams whose talent and drive have got them somewhere."

Personal Note: I think it is pretty bold for anyone from O-Town to say anything that bad about Britney after she let them open up for her on tour. Someone is gettign a little big headed. That is justed messed up of them.

Sir Elton Wants To Play Britney's Dad
According to WENN, SIR ELTON JOHN wants to play BRITNEY SPEARS' dad in his next video.

Britney's boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE plays Elton in his new video THIS TRAIN DON'T STOP HERE ANYMORE, and now he wants the pop pair to team up in his next promo.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR starred in I WANT LOVE, the first video from Elton's new SONGS FROM THE WEST COAST album, and the British singer admits he likes the concept of having today's newsmakers appear in his promos.

In This Train..., Timberlake dresses up as Elton to recreate a backstage scene from a typical wild mid-1970s night.

Elton says, "I like this concept and my director wants to do a continuation of the same night - the same era but from a fan's perspective.

"Justin will come onstage and we want to use a girl, get it from her perspective. If we do it, my personal favourite will be Britney Spears. I want to play her dad in the video. That would be incredible.

"It'll be along the lines of I won't let her out and she wants to go to the concert and she runs away."

Grandmother Fired Over Britney Nudity Shocker
According to WENN, A 41-year-old grandmother has lost her job at a hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, after stumbling in on one of BRITNEY SPEARS' minders having a shower.

DANZEL NEAL thought that Spears had left the shower running when she heard water splashing in the bathroom of the RITZ-CARLTON hotel she was cleaning and went in to turn it off.

It was there she discovered a burly bouncer stepping out of the shower - completely naked.

Outraged Neal complained to her bosses but was told there was nothing they could do, so she took matters into her own hands and phoned Britney's room demanding an apology.

The singer was so furious about the cleaner's attitude, she checked out of the hotel a day early - costing bosses a whopping $9,000 (GBP6,000). The hotel's management promptly sacked Neal.

She says, "The manager told me Britney was so mad over my phone call that she and her whole crew left a day early."

Britney's Dance Beat's US Debut

A new rhythm game featuring Britney Spears will be coming to the PlayStation 2 this spring.

As part of its annual editor's day, THQ showed Britney's Dance Beat for the PlayStation 2. The game will feature many of Britney's songs, including timeless classics like "Baby One More Time," "Oops! I Did It Again," and "Stronger." Players will also be able to unlock extras such as music videos, interviews, and backstage footage featuring the star herself. The previous rhythm game featuring Britney Spears--called Stepping Selection--was available only in Japan.

Britney's Dance Beat will be available on store shelves this spring.

A Glass of Britney's Orange Juice Tours Germany
We kid you not, Ananova reported that an unwashed glass from which Britney Spears drank orange juice during an interview is touring Germany. Britney drank from the glass during an interview with Cologne radio station EinsLive on January 15. The glass with the dried remains has been to five cities. It finishes its tour in Detmold on January 26. At each stop tour organisers put the glass on a pedestal to let fans see it. The glass has visited Dormagen, Herne, Cologne, Castrop-Rauxel and Ahlen. The station has reported live from each destination. At the end of the tour, the station will pick a fan to drink the juice from the bottle which she didn't finish during the interview. "It is definitely her glass," EinsLive spokesman Andreas Neuhaus told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.

Britney Spears: Prince Wills Stood Me Up!
According to ABCNews.com, Britney Spears says Britain's Prince William stood her up for a dinner date, British media outlets reported today.
In an interview for a British talk show, the American singer said she had been corresponding with the prince via e-mail, and invited him to visit her and perhaps go for a meal.

But the meeting never went ahead, she admitted during an interview for ITV1's Frank Skinner Show.

Skinner asked the 20-year-old chart topper about her relationship with the 19-year-old prince, and if she had become "quite friendly" with him.

She said, "Yeah, it was just like, all blown out of proportion — we exchanged e-mails for a little bit and he was supposed to come and see me somewhere but it didn't work out."

Skinner added: "You were blown out by Prince William?" Spears replied, "Yeah."

Spears said she had no idea why William had changed his mind about meeting, but Britain's Sun tabloid reported the prince had opted to go fox hunting instead.

What About Harry?

Spears was in Britain to promote her new single, "Overprotected." She says she and the prince have never actually met and denied rumors of a cyber romance.

The midriff-bearing singer, who is in a long-term relationship with pop group 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, has long acknowledged her admiration for a number of English celebrities, like the prince and England soccer captain David Beckham.

Later this month, she plans to film a Pepsi commercial for the World Cup with the soccer hunk, and said she looked forward to meeting him.

"I think he's cute," she told The Associated Press. "I'm hoping he'll help me with the soccer moves for the commercial."

Timberlake needn't worry, however; Beckham is already married, to the Spice Girls' Victoria Beckham (she's Posh Spice).

And during the ITV interview, Skinner suggested she pursue someone else instead of Prince William, who, as second in line to the British throne, is considered one of the world's most eligible bachelors.

"Go with the brother," he said, referring to 17-year-old Prince Harry, who recently admitted smoking marijuana and underage drinking. "He's much more fun," Skinner told Spears.

The interview was taped last week and will be broadcast Saturday.

Pink VS Britney - Off!
According to PlayLouder.com, "A catfight we'd all pay good hard cash to see, but it looks like it's off - after it was reported last week that Britney Spears stormed out of a London hotel because Pink was there, the Party Startin' teen has proclaimed: No Beef!

Speaking at a conference yesterday, Pink admitted that she can annoy people, and that might have been the reason.

'I can be very loud so I can understand that,' she said 'If you're not the party type then you wouldn't want to stay next to me.'

Anyway, she met Britney at Top Of The Pops last week, and made nicey.

'She's cool,' said Ms. Pink. 'She came in and I gave her flowers and she thanked me. She was tiny and cute and cool. If she does hate me then she's a good liar.'

Pink also said that she'd like to go and entertain the troops in Afghanistan when she gets a moment.

'When my record company leave me alone I'll go,' she said. 'I have a tremendous respect for soldiers and anyone that fights for freedom. I want to do something a little more meaningful that just going over and singing a song. I'm sure it's a great distraction for some artists but it's all done for press.'

Britney In Western Europe
From TeenHollywood.com, "Britney Spears is enjoying the pop life in Western Europe.

Spears was the opening act at the NRJ awards--France's version of the Grammys--which kicked off this year's Midem, the international trade show for music professionals, Saturday. The big winners of the night included Dido and Garou. Mick Jagger also performed his new single, "Visions of Paradise."

The singer was at Midem, which is being held this year in Cannes, to promote her new movie "Crossroads"--which premieres in the U.S. in February--and her third album 'Britney'--which has already sold close to eight million units worldwide, Variety reports.

Although Spears' acting debut in 'Crossroads' is being received with apprehension by the critics, the 20-year-old is hopeful and excited to be on the big screen, as evidenced by her comment at a recent London press conference, 'Everything the critics like, I hate.'"

Britney Talks About Future Wedding
From TeenHollywood.com, "Britney Spears has finally admitted she plans to wed boyfriend Justin Timberlake "some time in the future."

Ms. Spears has repeatedly denied reports that she and 'N Sync's Timberlake are engaged. But in an interview Saturday, she said, "It will happen some time in the future, but not this year," Ms. Spears said. The couple recently bought a California home for a reported $3 million."

Britney May Help Revive Planet Hollywood Restaurants
Ananova reported that Britney Spears is reportedly planning to help Marco Pierre White revive the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain. It is thought the pair want to team up to buy 50% of its shares. White is reported to have been in discussions with Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl. The celebrity chef's spokesman Alan Crompton-Batt told the London Evening Standard: "I don't know if Britney is a good cook herself and I don't think she would have been telling him what to put on the menu, but they would certainly have talked about the company."

Pink Denies Rivalry With Britney
Ananova reported that Pink has denied reports of a rivalry with Britney Spears. She says she even sent Britney a bunch of flowers during their recent visit to London. Both singers were in the UK last week to perform their new singles on Top Of The Pops. It had been reported Britney Spears changed hotels after discovering she was staying in the same hotel as Pink. But Pink told Radio 1: "I didn't even see her, I didn't know she was coming. Honestly, don't believe everything you read. I sent her flowers. I am pretty loud though, I can understand it."

Britney Spears Addresses 'Crossroads' Critics
From Zap2It.com, "Britney Spears was in Cannes, France at the 36th annual Midem music market to promote her feature film debut 'Crossroads' and addressed reports of critics laughing at the teen road drama at a London screening.

'Everything the critics like, I hate,' countered the 20-year-old pop princess who was scantily clad despite the nippy weather, according to Variety.

Funny. 'N Sync's Lance Bass took a similar line when addressing his big screen debut 'On the Line's' inclusion on Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper's 'Worst of 2001' list.

'Crossroads' opens Feb. 15, just in time for Valentine's Day."

Britney And Becks To Get Together

Britney Spears has revealed she and David Beckham are teaming up to appear in a special World Cup commercial for Pepsi. She said she is looking forward to meeting the Manchester United star later this month. "I think he's cute. I'm hoping he'll help me with the soccer moves for the commercial,' she said. Britney's management team says the ad will be filmed when she returns to America. But some reports say the project is news to David Beckham. It is claimed he has denied all knowledge of the plan to team him up with Britney. Meanwhile, it would seem that all this transatlantic travel is too much for poor Britney. She has been losing all track of time on her whirlwind European tour and has been phoning her mum back in America at all hours - apparently she keeps forgetting about the time difference. But Britney's mum says she does not mind because it is so nice to keep in touch with her."

What's Cooking, Britney?
According to The Observer, "He is the bad boy of British cooking. She is the world's biggest young music star, with a string of top 10 hits and a multi-million dollar fortune, writes Sarah Ryle.
Now singer Britney Spears has forged an unlikely culinary partnership with Marco-Pierre White by investing in Planet Hollywood, the international restaurant chain.

The pair celebrated their investment last Thursday night with a meal at the central London venue, where White has already made changes to the menu.

Spears is a long-term devotee of the celebrity-backed chain on both sides of the Atlantic. She rounded off her 2000 UK tour with a party at the London restaurant - the guests included Alastair Campbell, then the Prime Minister's aide, who is a self-confessed Britney fan.

A famously frugal eater, Spears will not be involved in running the restaurants.

Planet Hollywood has had a chequered history since the original backers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, invested in it.

They made a paper profit of $50 million when the chain began trading on the Nasdaq exchange in 1996. At one point, it was valued at $2 billion. The chain owned 87 outlets around the world, led by flagships in New York and London, and 28 celebrities owned 15 per cent of the company between them.

By 1998, Planet Hollywood had reported a net loss of $200m. In October 1999 it filed for bankruptcy protection. It faced bankruptcy again last October and was saved by a $30m cash injection."

Billboard Bits: Britney
Billboard.com reposts that Britney Spears was in the U.K. this week to tape an appearance on the BBC's popular 'Top Of The Pops' show. The artist performed 'Overprotected,' which can be found on her latest Jive album, 'Britney,' as well as in 'Crossroads,' her film debut. 'Tops Of The Pops' airs tonight (Jan. 18) in the U.K. and Monday on BBC America. Nelly Furtado, So Solid Crew, and Daniel Bedingfield will also be featured on the episode.

A number of promotional contests are up and running for 'Crossroads,' which opens Feb. 15 in U.S. theaters. In addition to a previously announced MTV.com contest offering a private screening of the film in New Orleans, Herbal Essences will award one lucky winner and three friends admission to the film's Los Angeles premiere, plus "a day of beauty" so winners will "look their best." The contest can be entered through Herbal Essence's official Web site."

Britney Says Too Busy To Marry

The 20-year-old American superstar said she had one regret, however -- ever talking about her virginity.

'I wish I'd never said anything about being a virgin now,' Spears told a news conference to promote her new album and film. Asked the burning question, she said: 'that's private.'

The famously virginal singer has been hounded by the 'has she, hasn't she' question since she boasted of wanting to stay celibate until she marries, despite her raunchy image.

The star, whose increasingly skimpy outfits have set many a pulse racing, said she planned to marry boy-band singer Justin Timberlake ``in the future'' but was too frantic on music and film projects to fit it in this year.

Britney: I'll Walk Aisle With Justin
According to PageSix.com "Britney Spears has finally admitted she plans to wed boyfriend Justin Timberlake 'some time in the future.' Spears has repeatedly denied reports that she and Timberlake, of the boy band *NSYNC, are engaged.

But in a TV interview aired yesterday, she said wedding bells will ring sometime down the road, the British Press Association reported.

'It will happen some time in the future, but not this year,' Spears reportedly said.

Spears and Timberlake recently bought a California home for a reported $3 million.

Spears has shot down a swirl of rumors that the hunky singer has already popped the question.

She's also insisted she and Timberlake have a squeaky-clean time behind closed doors - although according to some reports, she was recently overheard gushing about their sex life.

'Justin and I have great sex,' Spears was overheard saying at a backstage party after a Big Apple awards ceremony, London's News of the World reported last month.

But publicly, Spears has vowed she's going to hang onto her virginity until she's married.

And she seems content to get her thrills from other sources, according to her public disclosures.

The junior diva was recently quoted saying, 'Chocolate for me is just like an orgasm.'

And her dance coach, Wade Robson, was quoted by the Scottish Daily Record this month saying,

'I get to drive Britney's sexual energy into her performances - she tells me fantasies, and we interpret them.'"

Forgetful Britney Wakes Up Her Mum At Night

Lynne Spears says her daughter keeps getting her out of bed because she forgets the time difference.

Britney has been in Europe to promote her new single and forthcoming film Crossroads.

'Britney called me two nights this week from Europe,' Lynne told the official Britney Spears website.

'She makes me laugh, because she always forgets the time change. Brit called at 1.50am one morning and 4am the other time.'

'She apologises for about five minutes, then we have a nice chat for about 30 minutes. It's a good thing I can go back to sleep easily! We have to check in with each other at least every other day.'"

Britney Performs Duet With Frank Skinner
Ananova reported that Britney Spears performed a duet with a difference as she teamed up with Frank Skinner on his TV show. The pair sang the Sonny and Cher hit, I Got You Babe, after she was interviewed for a one-off special. Britney is more used to duetting with singing stars such as Michael Jackson but was happy to take to the stage with Skinner. The 20-year-old, wearing a glamorous black top and pinstripe trousers, also had the audience in stitches when she joined him in a comedy sketch. A source on the show said: "It was a great interview and Britney was fantastic. The sketch was absolutely hilarious and they closed the show with the duet." Skinner is known for his near-the-knuckle questioning and there has been speculation on whether he would quiz Spears about her claims to still be a virgin. The source said: "Frank did touch on the subject - but you'll have to watch the show to find out what was said." Although Spears arrived on her two-day promotional tour with an impressive entourage and has been constantly surrounded by burly minders, she made no diva-like demands when she appeared on the show. The source said: "She didn't ask for anything outlandish - in fact the only thing she asked for in her dressing room was water." The Frank Skinner Show featuring Spears is on ITV1 on January 26 at 9.45pm.

BRITNEY ENGAGED!?
According to Yahoo! UK"Britney Spears has admitted that she's sick of people thinking she's still the same schoolgirl she was when she sang Baby One More Time in 1999.

'Some people will always see me as the girl in the uniform, twirling down the hallway, but they're the ones stuck in the past, not me,' la Spears said and has also revealed that, when it came to recording her recently released, self-titled, third album, she wanted to make sure she took her sound a step further. However, as Britney soon discovered, it wasn't going to be easy.

'My record company wanted me to play it safe and release CD after CD of the same sort of music,' Britney told Now magazine, adding, 'But I resisted. Then I insisted that the music shows my growth as a person, as an artist and that I wouldn't lay down tracks that are flat and repeat my other work. The new CD has really contemporary stuff on it that's miles ahead of Baby One More Time. It's different. Sexy and adult and even provocative.'

Britney was also keen to dismiss rumours that she's planning to wed boyfriend Justin Timberlake at a 'secret' ceremony on February 14th, revealing, 'That rumour began because my new movie Crossroads is to open on Valentine's Day and my assistant started to plan a party for that night to celebrate. She made our inquires into space availability and the next thing we knew the papers were planning our wedding.'

However, Britney isn't being secretive about her relationship with Justin, proudly admitting that they're definitely engaged and do plan to get married in the future, although she isn't ready to get spliced just yet. 'It won't be until we are both ready to make that commitment to each other and God,' Britney explained, 'It's not something to take lightly. I intend to marry one time and stay married until the day I die, just like the vow says.'"

Britney Spears Breezes Into 'Top of the Pops'
From Yahoo! News"American pop princess Britney Spears is set to appear on Friday night's Top of the Pops after breezing into London with her burly minders taking their cue from the title of her latest single 'Overprotected.'

The 20-year-old superstar was accompanied by a huge entourage of security guards, stylists, dancers, hairdressers, make-up artists and assistants.

The Daily Mail said her entourage was so large it took five people-carriers to transport them from Heathrow airport to the five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the posh Knightsbridge area of central London.

The Mail said Britney wasted no time after her arrival to go shopping in the West End after checking into her $6,750-a-night Imperial Suite -- a two-bedroom gold-decorated apartment with views across Hyde Park.

Media reports said a pack of burly guards shadowed the star's every move as she toured the capital in a cavalcade of limousines and went for a morning stroll in Hyde Park.

Security levels at the BBC studios where the show was recorded were said to have been at unprecedented levels, but a spokeswoman for the broadcaster said details were not being disclosed.

'We wouldn't comment on security measures but she is a huge star and we will look after her accordingly,' she said.

The BBC is well used to meeting the demands of pop divas. Jennifer Lopez requested at least 10 dressing rooms for herself and her entourage for an appearance at last year's Top of the Pops music awards.

Spears, whose first single 'Baby, One More Time' propelled her to international stardom, is due to give a handful of radio interviews and film a segment for a television chat show before flying to Cannes in France for a news conference at the Midem music industry festival this weekend.

Comic Frank Skinner, who will interview Spears for his TV chat show, said he was thrilled at the prospect. 'She is the hottest pop star in the world at the moment, and in more ways than one,' he said in a statement.

'The big question is will she put her career on the line and do a song with me at the end of the show.'

In the show, to be broadcast on BBC1 on Friday night, Spears will be seen performing her latest single."

Britney Goes Shopping In Knightsbridge
Ananova reported that Britney Spears has spent the afternoon shopping in Knightsbridge as she prepares for her Top Of The Pops performance. She also took a stroll around Hyde Park flanked by two bouncers. The singer is staying in a £4,700 a night suite at the nearby Mandarin Oriental hotel. Britney will record her Top Of The Pops performance tonight, to be broadcast on BBC1 tomorrow. She will sing two versions of her song Overprotected in different costumes, and one version of her next single I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman. She will also conduct a short interview with presenter Jamie Theakston. According to the BBC, security for Britney has never been so tight, reports the London Evening Standard.

Britney Making A Top Of The Pops Appearance And CD:UK Special
Ananova reported that Britney Spears has flown into the UK to record a Top Of The Pops performance and a CD:UK special. She will perform her new single Overprotected on the Top Of The Pops show being broadcast tomorrow. It will be Britney's first UK television performance of 2002. Enrique Iglesias and Pink have also flown in from the US to record future Top Of The Pops performances. Top Of The Pops producer Chris Cowey told Ananova: "She's a huge superstar and we're delighted to have her on the show." Other artists featured on this week's show include Nelly Furtado and So Solid Crew. There will also be footage of the late Aaliyah with her number one single More Than A Woman. The CD:UK special will be broadcast on Saturday.

Lynne's Corner Updated: "The International Superstar"

"Britney's schedule is so hectic right now. I have to look at her schedule to locate her daily. She is in Germany today, doing movie promotion. She'll go to London next, and then on to Paris on this trip. This is a ten day European trip, then I’m going to meet her in Chicago for a special taping of the "Oprah" show." I'm excited. I love Oprah.

Britney called me two nights this week from Europe. She makes me laugh, because she always forgets the time change. Brit called at 1:50 AM one morning and 4:00 AM the other time. She apologizes for about five minutes, then we have a nice chat for about thirty minutes. It's a good thing I can go back to sleep easily! We have to check in with each other at least every other day.

Britney and Justin enjoyed the American Music Awards in L.A. Britney's performance was very different from her norm. Usually, she has so much preparation. It was nice to practice staging only the day before, then wait to perform the day of the show. Brit thought it was almost too easy. She felt like she should be doing more before the show.

I was excited the night of the AMAs, because I also was able to see Britney's performance with Michael Jackson the same night. I missed the show at Christmas. I turned the channels back and forth trying to see both performances. I did catch the Michael Jackson performance thirty minutes later that night.

We are all making plans to fly to New York to see Britney’s appearance on Saturday Night Live. Britney is really looking forward to doing the show. She loved it last year. She says the people are a fun group to work with. Everyone except Jamie Lynn will go. She has decided to stay home with friends. She made three "B"s on her last report card. Generally Jamie makes all "A"s. Britney was disappointed about Jamie's decision, but Jamie Lynn told her, "a girl does what she has to do."

I'm sure Britney of all people can understand that!"

Britney Spears Offering Video Cameo
From MTV.com, "Even if a dazzling run by a future Hall of Famer doesn't teach you some new moves during Super Bowl XXXVI, perhaps Justin Timberlake can.

A dance lesson with the 'NSYNC member is one of several prizes up for auction at a charity Super Bowl party Timberlake and girlfriend Britney Spears are hosting at New York's Planet Hollywood on February 3, the day of the big game, according to an event spokesperson.

While watching the game on big-screen televisions strewn about the restaurant, guests will be able to bid on the dance class with Justin and the opportunity for a cameo role in an upcoming Spears movie, video or commercial, as well as items from New York Yankee Derek Jeter, golfer Tiger Woods, and Madonna.

Proceeds from the party will be donated to charities closest to the hosts: the Britney Spears Foundation, dedicated to benefiting needy children through peer relationships and participation in the performing arts, and the Justin Timberlake Foundation, whose goal is to promote music education by providing school grants.

Tickets for the party, priced at $1,000, are available by contacting the charities at (646) 437-3629.

Keeping in stride with Super Bowl XXXVI, taking place in New Orleans' Louisiana Superdome, Planet Hollywood will be decorated to look like the city's famed Bourbon Street and will serve Cajun food.

In other Spears news, the pop princess has struck a licensing agreement with Skechers, USA, which plans to issue a Britney Spears collection of "4 Wheelers" roller skates and accompanying accessories, according to a spokesperson for the footwear company. The three-year deal entitles Skechers to use Spears in advertising and marketing campaigns focused on the line. It's not known when the skates are slated to roll into stores.

Spears also endorses the brand's athletic footwear in international print ads, the result of another licensing deal with Skechers that is in place until June 2002."

WENN reported that BRITNEY SPEARS gets the inspiration for her sizzling dance routines by talking dirty with her choreographer. The singer's hunky 19-year-old dance coach, WADE ROBSON, says he uses Britney's impure thoughts as the basis of many of her raunchy routines. He says, "I get to drive Britney's sexual energy into her performances - she tells me fantasies and we interpret them." And Robson need never worry about working his client too hard - she's always ready to do whatever it takes to get into shape. Britney Says Chocolate Is 'Just Like An Orgasm'
Ananova reported that Britney Spears says chocolate is as good as sex. She says "chocolate for me is just like an orgasm." Britney made her claim during a visit to a German chocolate museum. The singer was presented with a huge heart-shaped white chocolate by staff at the museum in Cologne. Britney was in Germany to promote her forthcoming film Crossroads. Later on the Viva TV show she told viewers: "I don't feel sexy as a woman, although my new songs are sexy." On Tuesday night she appeared as a guest on the Alfred Biolek talk show which had the theme "nobody is perfect." Afterwards Biolek said: "She is pretty perfect." Britney told Biolek how close she is to her family and talked about her plans for the future, saying: "I want very much to make a career in the movies."

Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake Co-Host Benefit Super Bowl Party
According to CDNOW.com, "Britney Spears certainly is a busy beaver these days. Along with a slew of other appearances, she has now just confirmed that she and boyfriend Justin Timberlake will co-host a benefit Super Bowl party in N.Y. on Feb. 3.

The two will host the party at Planet Hollywood in N.Y., where guests can bid on auction items ranging from a dance class with Timberlake or a cameo in an upcoming Spears movie, video, or commercial to items from Madonna, Tiger Woods, and others.

The New Orleans-styled party will benefit the Britney Spears Foundation (which helps children in need) and the Justin Timberlake Foundation (which promotes music education for children).

Spears' to-do list for the next month also includes her second hosting of Saturday Night Live on Feb. 3; a performance at the NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration on Feb. 9 at the Pennyslvania Convention Center, airing on MTV, NBC, TNT, BET, MuchMusic, and Nickelodeon; and the release of her debut movie, Crossroads, on Feb. 15. 'NSync, meanwhile, scored two GRAMMY Award nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album (for Celebrity) and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (for "Gone").

The couple took more heat over their alleged lack of a sex life this past week when reports surfaced that Spears allegedly told friends at a recent party that she and Timberlake have "great sex." In the past few weeks, Spears was named as one of Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dressed Women of 2001 (No. 2 to be exact) (allstar, Jan. 9), and named the Sexiest Woman in the World by Stuff magazine.

Under the three-year agreement, SKECHERS will have the right to advertise and sell a Britney Spears collection of 4 Wheelers(TM) and skate accessories in the United States and throughout the world.


The 4 Wheelers(TM) license continues SKECHERS' successful relationship with Britney Spears, which was first established by an agreement to endorse and promote SKECHERS athletic footwear in international print ads from January 2001 through June 2002.

Critics Laugh At Britney's Movie
BBC reported that Britney's big screen debut has received a less favourable response. According to today's Star, previews of the star's first film, Crossroads, have provoked howls of laughter from a specially-invited audience of critics. Brit stars as Lucy, a girl who heads off on a road trip to meet her long-lost mother after her high school graduation. She falls for Ben and during one scene, begins to write poetry in her notebook. This "poetry" turns out to be the lyrics to her album track 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman', and according to online reports it was at this point that the laughter began! Subsequent sentimental moments were met with a similar response and, at one point, applause.

Britney On Tour In 2002?
According to one of our affiliates, SPEARSuniverse, "I've [Antonio] managed to get in touch with one of the Zomba Records office in US, and I asked them about Britney's next tour which was rumored to be a summer tour. They gave me some more info than this, they told me it would be a tour for USA and that it will finish in September 2002. However, there are no plans to tour South America and they didn't confirm Brit will reach Europe or Australia. Before the tour, she will also do the promo for "Crossroads" as it has been scheduled."

News, "Songs by 'NSYNC, O-Town and LFO that were previously unavailable in the U.S. will appear on the soundtrack to the straight-to-video film "Longshot," due March 5, according to the LP's publicist. Those groups, along with Britney Spears, also have cameo roles in the basketball-themed movie set in high school....

Britney's Massive Pepsi Ad Blown Down
WENN reported that high winds have blown down BRITNEY SPEARS' massive PEPSI campaign banner from atop Los Angeles' HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND complex - good news for local residents. Locals had complained the big sign was ruining their view and are relieved the pop babe's been banished, but complex bosses still insist they'll put the poster back. Spokeswoman BETH HARRIS says, "We're investigating ways to keep it more sturdy."

Hard To Belive It Has Only Been Three Years
On January 12, 1999, Britney Spears first album, “…Baby One More Time” was released, and a new era in pop music began. Now three years later to the day, I know that every fan has there own individual moment that they can call there own, that moment where you became a Britney fan. For myself, it was the first time I heard “…Baby One More Time” single while working at a retail store. They played the video every twenty minutes for two months and I couldn’t get enough of it. Maybe for you it was went on tour with *NSYNC in 1999, or when “Oops!... I Did It Again” was released in May of 2000, or something sooner, “I’m A Slave 4 U” video in September of 2001. Whatever it may be, I know that we all have them. Britney Spears Has A Full Schedule In 2002
According to Launch, "It looks as if Britney Spears is everywhere these days, and sometimes in several places at the same time. Perhaps you saw her performance of 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman' from her multiplatinum Jive Records album, Britney, last night (January 9) on the American Music Awards on ABC, or maybe you saw her duet with Michael Jackson on the rebroadcast of his 2001 CBS special. One thing is certain: When Spears has a new single and a feature film to promote, she doesn't waste any time, as is evidenced by her grueling February schedule.

Spears returns as host and performer on the February 2 episode of NBC's Saturday Night Live. Her all new Pepsi commercial--her second ad for the company--will premiere during the February 3 Super Bowl on Fox. Spears is also scheduled to sit down for an hour on The Oprah Winfrey Show during the week of February 4.

Spears will perform 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman' at the NBA All-Star Game on February 9. Afterwards, she is off to NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to again perform 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman' on February 11. The VHS/DVD release Britney Spears: Live From Las Vegas comes out February 12, and Spears's first major motion picture, Crossroads, opens in theaters nationwide on February 15.

'Britney has a full year ahead of her this year,' the singer's mother Lynne Spears writes on Spears's official website (britneyspears.com). '2003 will be an easier year. She plans to read movie scripts, write music, workout, eat right, and sleep a lot that year. Britney also plans to decorate her new condominium in Florida herself. I'll just be her collaborator for that project. I'm sure she'll plan lots of 'Justin (Timberlake)' time during that period, too.'"

Britney To Show Knickers In New Film
From Ananova, "Britney Spears appears wearing just her knickers and a T-shirt within the first five minutes of her new film, Crossroads.

She appears singing and dancing around her bedroom in the scene. She uses a spoon as a microphone.

Britney's character Lucy also sleeps with love interest Ben, played by Anson Mount - but the audience only sees before and after scenes.

The PG-rated film, which goes on general release in the UK on March 29, also features a flashback of her losing her virginity.

In one scene, Britney and her two friends are in a car and sing her boyfriend Justin Timberlake's song - NSync's Bye Bye Bye.

At the end of the press screening at the Empire, Leicester Square, one journalist shouted: "Britney rules."

During one of the three kissing scenes, another journalist shouted: "No tongues, Britney."

Britney also sings her own songs, Overprotected and I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and appears singing at a karaoke.

She plays the role of a dork who eventually rebels against her father, played by Dan Aykroyd."

Reuters reported that Cheeky comic Frank Skinner has a burning ambition -- he hopes pop superstar Britney Spears will join him in a duet on his chat show. Britney To Appear On UK Chat Show
According to PeopleNews.com, "Britney Spears is to appear on her first ever British chat show in a special edition of the Frank Skinner show. Britney will be interviwed by the Brummie comedian - who is known for his rather robust humour and somewhat old-fashioned attitudes towards women - later in the month. Britney Spears Is A Man, Baby! (In A New Movie)
From MTV.com, "While on the road last year filming his latest independent movie, director Ludi Boeken and his relatively unknown cast decided to stop at Hooters for lunch. It would have been no big deal except that one of his stars looks almost identical to Britney Spears. And, of course, he (yes, he) was dressed in character as the pop icon.

"We were so used to seeing Robert as Britney, we didn't think anything of it," Boeken recalled. "All of a sudden we had like 800 people looking at us. He fled, and they chased him. From then on, we just brought food to him."

Robert is Robert Stephens, a.k.a. transvestite Angel Benton, a massive Spears fanatic and a Britney impersonator on the Southern California drag queen circuit.

Boeken's latest film, "Britney Baby — One More Time," is a comedy loosely based on a true story about a television news crew that mistook Benton for the real singer. The movie, which stars real-life filmmakers Mark Borchardt and Mike Schank (of "American Movie" fame) as the reporters, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Sunday.

For Benton, who wisely ditched her Baby Spice act to become Spears just a few years ago, the movie marks another strange turn in what has been an adventurous run as a drag queen.

"When the Spice Girls started losing their popularity, I wanted to think of a new act so I could still perform," Benton said in his Spears-like voice. "When I used to watch 'The Mickey Mouse Club,' people used to say Britney could be my little sister. She was 11 and I was 18, so we couldn't pass as twins. But when ... Baby One More Time came out, I was like, 'Holy sh--. This girl is now my twin sister. This is my ticket out of the Spice Girls.' '

Benton's striking resemblance to Spears also proved to be his ticket to meeting his idol when he beat out 30 contestants — all girls — in a Britney Spears look-alike contest. After a limousine dropped him off at a Spears concert in Los Angeles, he was waiting backstage to meet the singer when a reporter grabbed who he thought was Spears for an interview.

'I'm dressed up as Britney because that's like every transy's dream, to get a picture with whoever she impersonates,' Benton said. 'I was supposed to speak to 'Extra.' That's who I thought it was. I had no idea it was E! and they thought I was Britney.'" Click Here to keep reading.

Britney To Promote Literacy On TV Show
Ananova reported that Britney Spears will headline an American television special promoting literacy. The hour-long show also features top basketball stars. Britney will perform her new song I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman. It features in her movie Crossroads which opens on February 15. The TV special is part of the Read To Achieve programme, in which basketball teams promote literacy and encourage families to read together. It takes place during NBA All-Star weekend, set for February 8 to 10 in Philadelphia.

Britney To Host Saturday Night Live Again!
Mark your calendars and set your VCR's, according to Ananova, "Britney Spears is to host and perform on the US satirical show Saturday Night Live on February 2.

She is expected to perform her new US single I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman on the show.

It will be the second time Britney has hosted Saturday Night Live.

In May 2000 she hosted the show, performing Oops!...I Did It Again and Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know.

She also took part in several of sketches with the regular cast and special guest, Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar."

Britney gets garlicky during movie kissing scene

Britney Spears got a mouthful of garlic when filming a kissing scene for her new movie.

Her co-star Anson Mount was trying to take the tension out of the scene by eating a spoonful of garlic.

He kisses Britney in the film Crossroads, which is due out on February 15.

Mount told www.ew.com: "After we kissed a couple times, I took a big spoonful of minced garlic and washed it around my mouth real good," he said.

"When we did the scene, Brit amazingly kept a straight face. After they yelled 'Cut,' I asked her 'Did you even taste that?'"

"And she goes 'Oh, sweetie, I just didn't want to hurt your feelings.''"

Anson, who will also be seen with Robert De Niro in City By The Sea in the autumn, said kissing Britney was 'quite nice.'"

Britney Helps Kid-Generated Pop Mature Into A Gold Mine
From the Chicago Tribune, "When Britney Spears told the crowd midway through her recent concert, "I'm not a little girl anymore," she was stating the obvious.

Pop's princess, whose tour generated more than $800,000 a stop, made that point in the opening moments when she arrived onstage in an Ozzy Osbourne-inspired black robe while performing a metal-tinged version of her hit "Oops! . . . I Did it Again."

The former "Mickey Mouse Club" TV cast member underlined the idea again near the end of the show with a series of bump-and-grind dance moves set against a steamy jungle backdrop for her latest single, "I'm a Slave 4 U."

By the movies' rating system, even Spears' raciest moments would probably draw only a PG-13. But her latest music-video imagery and lyrics are grown-up enough that the pop star, who just turned 20, is facing a wagging finger from the kid-oriented media outlets that have made her and other teens into global stars.

Nickelodeon and Radio Disney each decided against playing "I'm a Slave 4 U," saying Spears' new approach is inappropriate for their audience. Although they may play other songs from her new album, executives say she is reaching the outer edge of the demographic range that defines their programming.

Lynne's Corner Updated For A Very Busy Holiday
Lynne's Corner on BritneySpears.com was updated today for the past holiday. Here is what Britney's mom had to say:

"Another Christmas holiday season has come and gone. Touring beforehand with Britney made it fly by even faster. Bryan, Britney and Jamie Lynn agreed that Christmas passed too quickly this year.

I was happy Justin came to Louisiana to spend Christmas with Britney. Everyone came to our house for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This was our first Christmas in the new house. We loved it! There was so many people and presents here this year that even this big house was overflowing. Jamie Lynn would help ease the crowd a little by bringing a few at a time to her new basketball goal for a game. Her presents were gifts that you play outside, like her trampoline and electric scooter. The severe cold didn’t seem to bother Jamie Lynn at all.

New Year’s Eve was fun for Bryan and Britney. They threw a great party in the Village section of New York. Friends and family from home came for the celebration. I decided to stay home. Two families joined us here to ring in the New Year. We had a wonderful time with great conversation, good food and lots of fireworks. The best part of the night was when Britney and Bryan called from their party to wish me Happy New Year. I felt so flattered to be called at the “bewitching” hour. Nothing can touch that! I miss them so much. It snowed New Year’s Day. Snow is rare in Louisiana. My home looked like a winter wonderland. Jamie Lynn made sure she videotaped the scene.

Now it is back to work as usual. Britney has to start rehearsing for the AMA’s. Bryan is back at work in New York. Jamie Lynn is singing, dancing, playing basketball and going to school. It is hard getting back in the swing of things. Britney has a small part in the third Austin Powers movie. I may go spend some time with her while she’s filming it. She leaves for overseas movie promotion of her new movie Crossroads. I will join her overseas for the last week of this tour. We are anxiously awaiting Crossroad’s debut date February 15.

Britney has a full year ahead of her this year. 2003 will be an easier year. She plans to read movie scripts, write music, workout, eat right, and sleep a lot that year. Britney also plans to decorate her new condomium in Florida herself. I’ll just be her collaborator for that project. I’m sure she’ll plan lots of “Justin” time during that period too."

Britney To Host MTV Mardi Gras 2002
According to Zip2It.com, "Going where, well, lots of people have gone before, MTV will plunge into the New Orleans bacchanalia that is Mardi Gras this year.

The network plans Spring Break-style festivities built around New Orleans' tradition-steeped celebration, in which folks pack as much sin as possible into the day before the beginning of Lent. Carson Daly and Louisiana native Britney Spears will serve as hosts of the three-hour special, which will air at 1 p.m. ET Saturday, Feb. 16, four days after Mardi Gras.

MTV will set up a stage in the city's Jackson Square, where the likes of No Doubt, Blink-182 and Mystikal will perform and willing men and women will get drag makeovers, among other events.

Morning-after confessions and an "Undercover" segment on a group of students traveling to the festivities for the first time will also be part of the special."

Britney Spears To Enter Computer Game World In March
WENN Reported that Having conquered the pop world and launched her movie career, BRITNEY SPEARS is aiming for success in the world of computer games.

BRITNEY'S DANCE BEAT will be available for the SONY PLAYSTATION 2 and NINTENDO's GAME BOY ADVANCE from March this year (02).

The Playstation version will be released on 15 March, followed by the Game Boy Advance version on 25 March.

The game is produced by THQ INC.

Britney's Film To Be Premiered This Month
According to Ananova, "Britney Spears' first film is to be premiered at a major music conference in France.

The 36th Midem event takes place in Cannes from January 20 to January 24.

Britney will host a special press conference before the premiere on January 19, and perform at the NRJ Music Awards the following night.

She will present her film, Crossroads, which also features Dan Aykroyd and Kim Cattrall, at the press conference.

NBA Pages Britney Spears for TV Special
Yahoo! News reported that Britney Spears will perform during a televised one-hour literacy special next month organized by the National Basketball Association.

Six networks will carry a simultaneous run of ``The NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration'' at 11 a.m. on Feb. 9, the weekend of the NBA All-Star Game in Philadelphia.

Originating from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the ''Read to Achieve'' hour will run across the board on NBC, TNT, Nickelodeon, BET, NBA.comTV and Canada's Much Music.

Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders (news - external web site), who co-host the weekly NBC series ``NBA Inside Stuff,'' will co-host the special. Other performers, as yet unannounced, will appear with Spears.

Her new album, "Britney" was simultaneously certified Gold, Platinum and quadruple Platinum in December. Her second album, "Oops!…I Did It Again" also added another million in sales and is now certified nine times Platinum. "Britney" fell 8 spots this week to the #12 position on The Billboard 200. "Britney" sold 180,000 copies according to the Associated Press, which was only 1,000 copies away from the top 10, and 46,000 from the top 5.

Britney/Beyonce anger film fans
According to PeopleNews.com, Outraged Austin Powers fans have started a petition to complain about the appearance of Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles in the groovy superspy's third adventure, Goldmember. Over 100 people have already signed the petition, with some saying that they would prefer to see Powers trading double entendres with such lovelies as Buffy's Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Lopez or even Nicole Kidman. The main complaint among fans is Britney and Beyonce's perceived lack of acting talent, with one fan saying, 'They are just marketing puppets and not real artists.' Elizabeth Hurley starred in the first Austin Powers film.

According to the LATimes.com, Britney has ranked at #8 on the Ultimate Top 10 Of 2001. This is a list of the top ten music celebrities according to income throughout the year 2001. Here is what they had to say:

The ubiquitous blond bombshell of the Information Age was huge in 2001--especially in those murals that popped up on buildings in Hollywood, New York and beyond to advertise her HBO concert special from Las Vegas.
