Vietnamese Pop Star Teams Up With Britney

Vietnames News Agency reported that Vietnamese pop star My Tam has been in London to team up with Britney Spears, her famous American colleague, as part of a newly inked deal with PepsiCo Viet Nam. The trip, her first overseas, is the most significant event of this year, she told a briefing press before her flight. My Tam's concerts will be sponsored and promoted by the corporation, said PepsiCo Viet Nam's General Director Pham Phu Ngoc Trai. He added that his company had the sole rights to the use of My Tam in drink endorsements in Viet Nam for the duration of the contract. Her first sponsored live show, "Hoa Mi Toc Nau" (Brown-Haired Nightingale), will be held at the end of next month in HCM City. Though the value of her new contract was not publicised, under it My Tam will travel abroad gaining performance experience. Like PepsiCo International, PepsiCo Viet Nam has tied much of its advertising to the entertainment sector, including music, fashion and sport. PepsiCo Viet Nam is the largest sponsor of music shows and sporting events in the country. NOTE: Not sure what teaming up with Britney means because it's not very clear in the article but my guess is that they were just together at the same Pepsi event last weekend.

Toxic Is #36 On Billboard Hot 100

Britney Takes A Ride Around Westminster Abbey

The Sun Newspaper Online reported that Britney Spears hopped astride a fan’s bike in central London and went for a spin without a crash helmet. But there was no danger of her being pulled over – she was on private land as she didn’t leave the courtyard outside Westminster Abbey. The God-fearing singer had nipped in for a close-up view of the historic landmark. Maybe she was seeking forgiveness for her 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander. An onlooker said: “I don’t know what she was more impressed by – the Abbey or the bike. “She was having a great time and seemed to have put the events of the past few weeks behind her.” Britney jetted out of the UK yesterday morning after helping to launch Pepsi’s new TV advert. The previous night she joined Pnk and Beyonce – her co-stars in the ad – for dinner at ultra-posh restaurant Nobu.

Britney To Quit Music For Acting?

IC South London reports Britney Spears has revealed she plans to pursue a full-time acting career following poor sales of her latest album. Despite having starred in the flop that was Crossroads, she told the Daily Mirror: "I'm really taking my acting seriously as it's what I'm going to be concentrating on for the next few years." The singer released In The Zone last year and despite collaborating with Queen of Pop Madonna for the first single, the album has failed to impress the American and British public. There are also worries that being in the spotlight since a young age is starting to take its toll on the 22-year-old. Just last month she married a childhood sweetheart in Las Vegas after a heavy New Year's Eve drinking session. On the 55-hour marriage Britney said: "I've reached a stage where I can laugh about the wedding. It was always meant as a joke." The aspiring actress is currently starring in a flick called Door To Door.

Britney Spears, Beyonce and Pink showed up for the premiere of their ’New Gladiator’ Pepsi ad tonight in an epic battle of the pop divas. The superstar trio were at the National Gallery in London’s Trafalgar Square for the first screening of the multi-million pound promo. In it they play gladiators while pop heartthrob Enrique Iglesias is an evil Roman emperor. They glitzy event was of the sort usually laid on for a Hollywood movie premiere, not a three-minute fizzy drink commercial. But with the combined star power of Britney, Beyonce and Pink, it is one of the most hyped TV ads in history. Britney was last to arrive, keeping her fellow stars waiting for 10 minutes. Wrapped up against the bitter cold in a black Dolce & Gabbana coat, the 22-year-old singer said: “To have this premiere is pretty amazing. “Filming the ad was awesome, it made me feel empowered and I got to work with these two fantastic gladiator women.” Beyonce wore a fur jacket to walk down the specially laid blue carpet, while Pink went for a more theatrical look in a black top hat. The trio have reworked the old Queen hit We Will Rock You for the ad and band members Brian May and Roger Taylor were also at the event.

Britney's Demands For UK Tour

The Times of India reported that ahead of her UK tour, Britney Spears has kicked up a stink by demanding an odourless carpet in her dressing room at each gig. She insists any chemical smells like those new carpets give off could harm her voice and organisers were apparently told to create `an apartment feel' complete with sofas, TV and coffee table, reports The Sun. Britney, who kicks off her seven-date tour on April 27, issued the demand, known as a rider. An aide quoted by the report said, "She wants to feel as comfortable as she can."

Britney Covers Legendary Queen

For the new Pepsi commercial featuring Britney, Pink, and Beyonce, all three of them have covered "We Will Rock You" by legendary group Queen. The incredible news is that the two of the three surviving members of Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor, actually played on the track. Bassist John Deacon thought better of the whole affair.

This comes from People Magazine that is on newstands now, I copied the article from the magazine. Britney Spears isn't saying much these days, but from the looks of it, we shouldn't worry about the recently annulled pop princess: She may not be talking, but her pants are speaking volumes. Spears — who was spotted Thursday in London wearing a decorative ring on her wedding finger — recorded her new single, "Toxic," for the "Top of the Pops" TV show wearing a simple message to fans: the words "Just Fine," handwritten on her pants. The 22-year-old singer didn't utter a syllable during the taping, but with an outfit like this, why would she need to? The show’s rep told PEOPLE.com: "Some people think (the message is) about Justin, but others think it relates to more recent events in her life." In any event, the next stop for Spears is Cannes, where she’ll attend the NRJ Music Awards on Saturday night. We're betting this goes "just fine," too.

Christina Aguilera says she gets turned on by girls more than boys and wanted to kiss Britney Spears. But she says Britney turned her down at the MTV Awards so they both kissed Madonna instead. In an interview in Zoo magazine, she also talked about her intimate body piercing and says she loves casual sex. She said: "I find it hornier looking at women then men. Sorry, I love experimenting with my sexuality. If that means girls then so be it. "I'd kiss a girl again. The Madonna thing was a one-off but girls are nice to kiss - nice and soft. I was up for kissing Britney but Britney wasn't."

Teen Hollyood reported that Britney Spears has baffled fans and the media by wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger - despite the recent annulment of her brief marriage. The Oops! I did it Again star shocked the world when she tied the knot with childhood pal Jason Alexander in Las Vegas earlier this month. Realizing her mistake, the partnership was annulled after just 55 hours - with reports of Alexander being offered $540,000 for agreeing to the official split. However, the 22-year-old singer was photographed with a diamond ring still clearly on her wedding finger at London's Heathrow Airport yesterday, where she stopped briefly before jetting off to Germany to promote her new album Toxic. With this wedding being the most recent in a long line of Britney's rebellious disasters, it seems now that she is intent on renewing her vows with God - she was spotted carrying a copy of the Bible and a book called Conversations with God.

KromA Creates Effects For Toxic Video

Music Video Wire reported that KromA created a computer-animated stunt double of Britney Spears as part of a huge package of animation and effects for the singer’s sizzling new video Toxic. With post production limited to less than three weeks, the studio’s team of artists and animators produced effects elements for virtually every scene in the video, including creating virtual Paris and London street scenes, and a 3D security tunnel environment where Spears performs back-flips to dodge laser beams. Directed by Joseph Kahn, the video marks a sharp departure for Spears, casting her in the role of a femme fatale out to wreak revenge on a cheating ex-boyfriend. (The scenario is a not-too-subtle jab at former Spears boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me a River video.) Rocketing at roller coaster speed, the video features Spears as a sexy stewardess, a James Bond-esque spy in skin-tight cat-suit and flaming red hair, and a black-maned superhero in flowing cape who murders her ex with a toxic potion. KromA produced a photo-real 3D replica of Spears for use in some of the video’s eye-popping stunt scenes. One such case was the Paris scene where Spears races through the streets on a motorcycle piloted by model Tyson Beckford. At the end of the sequence, when the bike becomes airborne and twists in the air before depositing Spears on a bridge, 3D replacements were used for Spears, Beckford and the motorcycle. “That entire shot, including the bridge environment is 3D,” explained KromA visual effects supervisor and lead compositor Bert Yukich. “At the end of the shot, when she lands on the bridge, we did a transition from the CG model back to the real Britney.” To improve the realism of the model, Yukich cut out Spears’ red hair from a live action element and tracked it to the model. Britney's Marriage in the Books

E! Online reported that Britney Spears' marriage is over, but the paperwork lingers. The Nevada marriage license that legally, if briefly, bound the pop tart to hometown friend Jason Allen Alexander was officially entered into the books on January 16, or 11 days after a judge annulled the Sin City union, according to the Clark County Recorder's Office in Las Vegas. While the timing seems off and the bottom line confusing (Does this mean Spears and Alexander are married--again?), officials say no oops has been committed. "That's how it works," Spears' Vegas attorney David Chesnoff said Thursday. "That" is the registering of marriage license. In Nevada, wedding officiators--in Spears' case, the Strip's Little White Wedding Chapel--have 10 days to record a license with the county. January 16 was 10 working days after Spears and Alexander's nervy walk down the aisle. The fact that the fun couple was granted an annulment just 55 hours after the January 3 ceremony didn't change the filing requirements. And the fact that the fun couple's license was recorded after the split doesn't mean Spears and Alexander are once again Mr. and Mrs. Britney. Said Chesnoff: "They're not married."

Britney Believes In `Sanctity of Marriage'

AP reported that Britney on yesterday's MTV TRL said that the excitement of Las Vegas is partly to blame for her recent 55-hour marriage to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander. ``I do believe in the sanctity of marriage, I totally do,'' Spears told MTV's Total Request Live in a telephone interview Wednesday. ``(But) I was in Vegas, and it took over me.'' Spears and Alexander, both 22, married at a 24-hour chapel early in the morning on Jan. 3. The wedding was annulled a little over two days later, but not before it made headlines around the world. The pop superstar says she can't understand the fuss. ``We landed on Mars that day - why aren't they talking about that?'' she asked, referring to the Mars Rover launched by NASA. Spears said she and Alexander ``hit it off completely,'' but when asked whether she had true feelings for him, she declined to answer. ``That's a personal question,'' she said, before changing the subject to promote her new video, ``Toxic.''

George Maloof Clears Up Rumors About Wedding

Extra reported that the details from Britney Spears' Vegas wedding are at times hazy. So to help clear up the confusion, they enlisted Spears' close friend and the man who was there virtually every step of the way to set the record straight. George Maloof is the mogul behind the hip Palms Resort and Casino. Now he breaks his silence about the crazy night Spears got hitched. Maloof says, "She surprised the world by getting married. I was with her for a good part of the time she was here, and she was having fun, that was it." Maloof wants to clear up a lot of the rumors about Spears’ walk down the isle. To begin, Maloof says, "She wasn't drunk, they said she was drunk, they said she was drunk and went crazy. She was cool. She was just having fun. She is a 22-year-old girl having fun, and she took a little something too far." Rumor number two is that Maloof fired the Palms employee who drove Spears to The Little White Chapel and acted as a witness to the nuptials. Maloof says, "No, he never got fired, that wasn’t true." The third rumor at hand is who helped the couple get the annulment. Maloof says, "I helped her with the annulment. She just didn't want to be married and Jason didn't want to be married, so I said I can help you out. It was a joke, it happened. We made it un-happen." Maloof says he spoke to Spears recently and she has already put the marriage behind her. Maloof says, "She is doing great. She is getting ready for her tour."

Coming Soon! reported that Britney Spears has made a deal to produce and star in Door to Door, an adaptation of a novel by Tobi Tobin being acquired by New Regency, says Variety. Published by MTV Books, the project is about an ambitious teenage beauty who leaves Michigan to become an actress in Los Angeles. She dates a movie star, who helps her get a job working the door at the hottest club in L.A. -- and suddenly doors open for her. Spears made her screen starring debut in Crossroads. She's currently touring for her latest album, "In the Zone." The trade added that she's also in talks to star in The Dukes of Hazzard and In the Pink.

Will Britney Join Tim Allen's In the Pink?

Coming Soon! reported that the word around the Sundance Film Festival is that Britney Spears has agreed to take some sort of part in a new Tim Allen comedy In the Pink. The Revolution Studios film revolves around a man who teams with a group of women to sell cosmetics door-to-door after he loses his cushy corporate job. The news channel says that Bette Midler, Cher, and comic Wanda Sykes are already signed for roles, though that's yet to be confirmed. It also states that Ryan Shiraki (Home of Phobia) may be the director. Spears' first film was Crossroads, which Paramount released February, 2002.

Get ready world because Britney is about to tell all, tell all in a biography. Britney will not be writting this herself, no folks it wont be an autobiography, but a biography using a ghost writter to let the world get a peak into her world, Britney's world. She plans to use a ghost writer to offer fans a glimpse into her world, including details behinds her relationship with Justin Timberlake and her short marriage to a childhood friend. A source saying, "This will be the book of 2004 and Britney is currently in talks about who will ghost write it with her. There are so many things she'll include it's guaranteed to be a bestseller. She will also talk about her wild partying lifestyle and share the concerns her family and friends have had since she shot to fame. And she will reveal her hopes for the future - she's certainly got her sights on making more movies." The tell all book, previously titled "On My Own" hopefully will be done by the end of the year.

Ananova reported that Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles and Pink dressed up as Roman gladiators for a new Pepsi advert. And Enrique Iglesias plays an evil Roman Emperor in the ad directed by Tarsem Singh. Pepsi believes it will be one of the most eagerly awaited and much talked about commercials of all time. Beyonce said: "I really love Pink's voice and Britney always has the best performances. It's great to be in the presence of such great artists and entertainers and I've been having the time of my life." And Pink said: "I've never been in a commercial before so just that in itself was pretty exciting to me. I always thought I would never take a can and sip it and go "aaah" but I'm doing it now so it's pretty funny." Britney added: "I'm such a huge fan of Pink and Beyonce. They're amazing artists so to be in their company is very cool!"

More and more, health clubs and defense contractors are banning camera cell phones in locker rooms to prevent any invasion of privacy. A camera cell phone is a cell phone that has a small digital camera built into it, most popular by Sprint PCS service. These cameras have a .3 megapixal, whereas normal cameras come with an average of a 3.0 megapixal, more megapixal the better the picture. However Britney Spears recently requested Rolling Stone magazine check all cell phones at the door at a recent party it hosted in New York City to make sure they don't have a camera in them.

Pop princess Britney Spears has blasted reports she is in rehab being treated for alcohol abuse. A British newspaper this week claimed the release of the singer's new album had been postponed so Britney could seek counseling for her alcohol consumption. But a spokesperson for Britney -- who earlier this month married childhood pal Jason Alexander -- insists the rumors are totally false. Her publicist Nicole King says, "I don't know where the information came from. "Britney has not entered rehab and it simply isn't true. It's a load of rubbish."

Britney Prank Leads DJ's Jobless

It may be the biggest uproar over singer Britney Spears since her recent quickie marriage. The pop princess is all over the front pages of national magazines, and just a mention of her name provokes strong emotions from many. So when Nashville DJ's Billy Breeze and Marco announced that Britney was at their Murfreesboro Road studio Thursday morning, the effects were immediate. Marco said, "The reaction was huge. Thousands of calls, thousands of emails." Some Britney fans even showed up at the station, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star in Music City. But the Britney that 102.5 The Party claimed to have in-studio and on the air was not Britney Spears. The show's listeners had been had - and some were upset. Now the DJ's have been taken off the air. "Today station management thought we went a little too far with something," said Marco. Billy Breeze and Marco have been suspended at least for Friday morning's show. But Marco told News 2 that in the radio business, pranks are part of the gig. Marco said, "Our big feature is that we do a lot of phone pranks. But we're also the same morning show that the week before christmas raised $30,000 with our Secret Santa for less-fortunate families." Will this stunt silence the morning show pranksters for good? Narco says not to count on it. "When Billy and I get on the radio in the morning, anything can happen. The saying I learned in radio years ago was, 'Ask for forgiveness, not permission.'" Britney Spears' publicist at Jive Records tells Nashville's City Paper that the singer was nowhere near Nashville on Thursday morning. Billy Breeze and Marco will find out sometime Friday just how long they'll be off the air.

This is what People Magazine has written about Britney's Vegas showdown. Speaking publicly for the first time since her quickie Jan. 3 wedding (and annulment) to childhood pal Jason Allen Alexander, Britney Spears told MTV's "Total Request Live" in a phone interview Wednesday, "I do believe in the sanctity of marriage, I totally do." But, she confessed, "I was in (Las) Vegas, and it took over me, and, you know, things got out of hand." Spears, 22, said she and her momentary mate, also 22, "hit it off completely," she claimed, but when asked by MTV's Damien Fahey whether she had true feelings for Alexander, she curtly replied, "That's a personal question."

Pop divas Beyonce, Britney Spears and Pink are to join forces in a new ad for Pepsi. They will appear alongside heart-throb Enrique Iglesias in the multi-million pound TV ad. Pepsi has put together the superstar line-up to promote its new "Dare for More" campaign. The fab four will hit screens early this year and Britney said, "Every year Pepsi has come up with new and exciting ways to entertain music fans around the world. With this year's line-up of talent they can expect the best yet." The drinks giant has previously signed up the likes of Robbie Williams, Madonna, Gareth Gates and Michael Jackson.

"I do believe in the sanctity of marriage, I totally do," Spears told MTV's Total Request Live in a telephone interview Wednesday. "(But) I was in Vegas, and it took over me." Spears and Alexander, both 22, married at a 24-hour chapel early in the morning on Jan. 3. The wedding was annulled a little over two days later, but not before it made headlines around the world. The pop superstar says she can't understand the fuss. "We landed on Mars that day - why aren't they talking about that?" she asked, referring to the Mars Rover launched by NASA. From: Britney's fan club: A Word From The Director Hey guys, my name is Kevin Tancharoen, and I am the Director of Britney's "The Onyx Hotel Tour". I just wanted to fill you in on what's been going on. We are in the middle of creative meetings for the show, and dance rehearsals start in a few days. The stage design is complete, and costumes are in the works. It's been a long creative process thus far, and everyday we're discovering new ways to take Britney's shows to the next level. "The Onyx Hotel" will be very artistically driven, and we hope to achieve more of an overall "theatrical" performance. Most of all, we hope that you will be pleased with the outcome. Jennifer Aniston hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend and what else but impersonated Britney on a sketch on Britney's wedding. Dressed in Britney's attire on her wedding; jeans, t-shirt, and a baseball cap, she mimiced Britney's wedding night in Las Vegas. In the sketch, Britney [Jennifer] and Jason Alexander, who was portrayed by Jimmy Fallon, were seen kissing and downing drinks from a hotel mini bar. 'Jason' then finds Britney's chewing gum and 'Britney' says, “It’s a sign! Let’s get married!” After the mock wedding, 'Jason' lets out a belch to which 'Britney' replies, “You are so gross. Exclusive news here. Britney's set design for The Onyx Hotel Tour will be based on the mysterious theory of the Onyx stone. The stage will feature a stage resembling a magical hotel that grants the wishes and fantasies of those who enter. "The Onyx Hotel is a unique, mysterious hotel powered by an onyx stone. Each guest who enters this hotel shines their own light into the onyx, and in return, makes their fantasies come to life. It's a vibrant, whimsical place where wondrous dreams are realized, and the darkest of secrets are revealed." Expect a lot of visual effects! PRNewswire just reported to me saying that Britney says, "I'm especially looking forward to bringing my tour to new markets and performing in front of fans that may not have had the opportunity to see any of my previous tours." More international dates for the tour are going to be announced soon but The Sun reports that Britney will perform at Glasgow, Scotland at the S.E.C.C on April 30, Manchester, England at the Manchester Evening News Arena on May 1, London at tje Wembley Arena on May 3, and Birmingham, England at the NIA on May 5. "I'm really thrilled to be coming back to tour the UK. I love the British fans and the crowds are always fun. This is going to be my best tour yet and I hope that you really enjoy it." TeenMusic.com reported that Britney Spears is set to dazzle fans in the video for her single "Toxic", she dances wearing nothing but carefully placed diamonds. The sexy singer, who starred with pop pal Madonna in her last video "Me Against The Music", insisted on a closed set for the shoot of the new promo - which was filmed by director Joseph Khan. Khan says, "She was wearing nothing but diamonds and we had to shut the set down for that piece." The video maker called in actor pal, "The Ring" star Martin Henderson, to play Britney's love interest in the film. Khan adds, "I called up Martin and said, 'Do you want to kiss Britney Spears?'

Britney Spears may have worldwide fame and millions of dollars in her bank account, but she still is only 22 years old. The new issue of People magazine explores whether her 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander indicates that the pop star has gone over the edge or if it merely represents the spur-of-the-moment actions of two young people. Peter Castro, assistant managing editor of People, tells The Early Show co-anchor Rene Syler, “I don’t think she’s over the edge quite yet, but she'd better be careful, because her behavior lately is just so irrational. She’s turning a lot of people off. It’s hurting her credibility and certainly not helping her record sales.” Spears is going on a 25-city North American Tour, but sales for her latest album, "In The Zone," released in November, have left much to be desired. Castro recounts a few other incidents, like kissing Madonna and posing in Esquire Magazine without panties, that shows Spears is trying to prove that she doesn’t have to answer to anybody. He notes, “ She’s in a weird transition because her fan base, which used to be 8-year-old, 10-year-old girls, are growing up. She’s sort of in this limbo state and doesn’t know where to turn.” He notes Spears biggest challenge is to become a credible artist. He says, “A lot of people survive scandal. Madonna has survived scandal, time and time again, but puts out a good product. This album will be a good barometer.” As for the night of the infamous wedding, Castro retells the events when Spears and Jason Alexander, who grew up together outside of Kentwood, La., were watching "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in the suite of their hotel and they said, 'Let’s do something crazy.' “They go out," Castro continues. "She’s in torn jeans, wearing a baseball cap, midriff bared. He’s in sandals. And according to our source, the limo driver was right on the scene, and contrary to a lot of reports, they weren’t drinking. They were very sober. Lance Bass of ‘NSYNC, who saw her after the wedding said she was of sound mind. They knew what they were doing. Why they did it, I don’t know.” It's not a publicity stunt, Castro notes. He says Spears and Alexander went to the Little White Chapel, and find out they have to get a marriage license. "They get a marriage license and they go back, which means there is an hour and a half span where they could have said, 'We’re about to do something we’ll regret,'" Castro notes. Castro says, “I think it’s just two 20-year-olds having too much time and too much money on their hands - a dangerous combination.” When they got back to the hotel and told their parents, Spears’ mom was not very happy with the news. Castro says, “Her mother, Lynne, hit the roof when she found out about this because she always fancied herself a soul mate of Britney, someone who watched over her and she was left out of the loop on one of the most important days of her daughter’s life, ostensibly. So our source tells us there was a pow-wow right after that with Britney’s handlers, her brother, Jason was there. There were long faces at the table. The mission was get this annulment over with ASAP." As for Jason Alexander, he is getting his 15 minutes of fame. Castro notes, “He has an agent and publicist right now, and there are rumors he has a tape of the wedding that he wants to sell for seven figures. That hasn’t been confirmed yet. But I guarantee you, if that is true, Britney will want to outbid and get that in her hands.”

Marriage Fiasco Delays Single Release

Looks like the joke that went to far is causing some serious damage. I just found out that Britney has been forced to postpone the release of Toxic because of the marriage might affect sales. Britney's management at Jive Records delayed the release of the single until March 1st, over a month wait. Britney's people at Jive are also considering on banning all appearances to promote the single for a while because they fear questions about the wedding will overshadow the release of the single. Even on her wedding day, Britney Spears was getting advice in her hotel room from a certain member of 'N Sync. No, not Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass. People magazine reports Bass is still friends with Spears, even if Timberlake isn't. He spent an hour with Spears the afternoon of her wedding day. Bass says, "Young people do stupid things every day." He says Spears was of sound mind and it was just a joke that went too far. It's amazing the cost of the wedding didn't jolt Spears back to reality. The wedding included photos, a bouquet of pink roses and a video for $200. Spears got out a credit card to pay for it, and exclaimed how expensive it was. After her wedding stunt, Spears may not care for "Las Vegas" any more. Not Las Vegas the city, "Las Vegas" the television show. Executive producer Gary Scott Thompson tells TV Guide Online he was actively trying to get Spears to appear on the show because she's a fan. However, he says after they heard of her quickie wedding in Vegas, they all thought, "I don't know if she's gonna want to do Vegas any more."

"She was there from the 26th of December until the morning of the 31st - and she was with a beautiful blond girlfriend and some bodyguards," said a fellow guest at the Four Seasons Resort on the posh Caribbean island. "She was completely un-diva-ish in her manner. She always said hello when I passed her, she was very cooperative about signing autographs and posing for pictures, and she seemed thrilled by all the little posses of kids that trailed her around everywhere. She was pretty nice - incredibly friendly, actually - and seemed like a well-brought-up girl." Spears, who was renting a spacious private villa in the Four Seasons compound, hung out there one night, having a bull session with admiring teenagers on vacation with their families. On another night, the guest said, Spears shooed away a group of younger fans who dropped by. "Britney and her friend, who was really stunning, were very quiet, just sunning themselves on the beach in their bikinis and getting manicures and pedicures, doing that girl thing," said the guest, a New York author who asked for anonymity. "I heard that one night she got all dolled up and went to a rasta bar." The friend was actually Spears' cheerleader cousin Laura Lynn Covington. Folks in Britney Spears' hometown don't see the humor in the superstar's weekend wedding joke. Spears' 55-hour marriage to fellow Kentwood resident and childhood friend Jason Alexander has engulfed the town in an unwanted media frenzy and it has rekindled an old question: What's she done for Kentwood lately? "It's embarrassing to have the worldwide media attention with the buildings in such rundown, decrepit conditions," said Tammy Shaffett, a co-owner of The Hair Studio on Avenue F, the main street that once had traffic and a movie theater. The wedding had the makings of a great yarn. Alexander a hulking former high school football player and Spears, wearing a white baseball cap, midriff-bearing shirt and torn jeans, jumped in a limousine and got hitched at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip at 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Hours later, the 22-year-olds renounced their wedding by calling it a prank that went too far, and wrote the whole thing off with an annulment. Joke over. But the stunt turned into an embarrassment for Kentwood population 2,200 as Alexander returned home to his family with a flock of reporters, television crews and paparazzi following. Since getting home, the Southeastern Louisiana University junior was "kind of hibernating" and collecting his thoughts, said his father, Dennis Alexander. The media hunt for Alexander overwhelmed Kentwood as reporters questioned the town's residents to find Spears' groom. Reporters staked out his family's home and sheriff's deputies were called in two days in a row to disperse the crowd. "Yesterday it really caused chaos," said Robert Alexander, Jason's grandfather. He said Dennis Alexander, an auto mechanic, had to close his garage Monday because of the intrusion. Downtown, television satellite trucks set up near the main intersection, causing locals to rubberneck all day. Some said they want to be proud of Spears and her success, but think the pop star hasn't shared her wealth with her hometown, which is languishing from a dying dairy farming industry. "I wish the improvement of our town got as much attention as Britney Spears' wedding," said Dylea White, a co-owner of The Hair Studio. "She should give some of her money to the town. She should help out. I know if I had some of that money I would," said resident Heather Patterson. Spears' publicist did not immediately return a telephone call for comment. And now that Spears has abandoned her wholesome girl-next-door persona with tales of wild partying, her nearly nude magazine spreads and the kiss she shared with Madonna, many people here don't like what she represents. "She's not building character. She's not a mentor to anyone," said Ellice Womack. There are some signs that Spears hails from here: a mansion she built for her family, a few banners on stores and an exhibit at the Kentwood Museum. It is clear that Britney Spears bears no ill-feeling towards her ex-husband, as the pop diva has bought Jason Alexander a Porsche. The gesture comes shortly after she married the 22-year-old in Las Vegas in the early hours of Saturday morning. The singer soon changed her mind, and dismissed the wedding as a night of revelry that got out of control. After securing an annulment, she had dinner with Jason, before the two went their separate ways. Technically, the American football player could have demanded half of Britney's earnings during the time that they were married, but friends said he would not accept any payment. Britney seems determined to show her gratitude, nonetheless, by buying him an expensive soft-top Porsche. After arriving back home in Louisiana, Jason explained that the wedding had been an impulsive, spur-of-the-moment affair. Exclusive information here. Just found out from Britney's record label, Jive Records, that Britney is or will be in Miami in a couple of days for a concert special for the Showtime Network. They didn't go into details so that's why I don't know if she is there currently or not. They didn't say when the concert will air on TV either.

Well now that Britney is single again, she may have to rethink that decision. Looks like Mr. Playboy, Hugh Hefner, is interested in having Britney as one of his girlfriends. Playboy magazine founder, reported to U.S. Weekly magazine in the January 19 issue that, "Britney would make a great girlfriend." Adding, "Picasso had his pink period and his blue period. I am in my blonde period right now," he said. "I think it's related to those early movies that had such a great influence on me when I was a kid." He would also like to have Britney has a Playmate, as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones. "They really epitomize the type of beauty that we like in the magazine," he said. During our exclusive interview, Britney's hometown groom, Jason Alexander, gave Billy Bush the wedding blow by blow. What went down on the Vegas strip? From the marriage license to the annulment papers, we take it step by step down the aisle with Britney's ex-hubby. Billy Bush: What a day for you? Tell me what happened? Jason Alexander: What happened in Vegas? Billy: Yeah, man. Jason: We went to Vegas for New Year's Eve to have a good time. You know, relax, just cut loose a little bit and get away from everything. And I don't know, it was a couple days after New Year's I guess. We had been having a good time. Billy: Did she just call you and say, 'Come to Vegas.' Or have you guys been friends? Jason: Well, she came down for Christmas Eve and then she asked me to go to Vegas with her. But we've been friends for a long time. We've done different things in the past. It wasn't anything new. Billy: Where did you meet? Just around town? Jason: No, we grew up together. Her mom used to own a kindergarten pre-school. I went to school with her there. I've just known her forever. Her family is good friends with my family, and just that kind of thing -- relationship like that. Billy: So she just said, 'Let's go to Vegas. We're going to Vegas?' Jason: Yep, she called me up the night before New Year's Eve and said, 'Lets go to Vegas.' I was like, 'Alright, cool.' I got everything ready and left and went to Vegas. We had a really good night. Then Saturday night... Was it Saturday night was January 3? It was Saturday morning actually. We were sitting in the room and it was just crazy and we were looking out the windows and looking at the lights and the city. We were like this is a real pretty, beautiful night. It was cool and we were looking at each other and we were like, 'Lets do something wild and crazy and lets go get married just for the hell of it. Lets go.' So we just got up and said, 'Lets go do it.' Billy: Because you're 22, why not? Jason: Why not? So we went to the chapel and we set everything up and we got married. We did everything -- the whole pictures and everything. Billy: But you went back and you got a license, too. Didn't they say you needed a license? Jason: Actually you have to have a license, you know. And we wasn't really wanting anything to be official, you know, like the official marriage thing. It was more for just the whole deal of just getting married. But we ended up having to get a marriage license, so we went and go it. We got back with the license and we sat in the car and we were like, 'Are we going to do this?' And we decided on, 'Yeah, we're gonna do it.' Billy: What was her attitude? Was she just having fun like, 'Yes Yes?' Or were you both a little like, 'Should we do it?' Jason: We were both like, 'Yes, yes!' on the outside, and I think we were both on the inside like, 'I don't know?' Billy: It's that nervous kind of danger. It's a little bit like, 'This might be wrong.' Jason: Yeah, so we went ahead and did the whole thing and we got back to the room and we decided that's when we needed to tell everybody what we done did. Then that's when all hell broke loose and we realized what we did probably wasn't the right thing we should've done and wasn't the right way to go about it. We needed to fix the problem -- the mistake we had made -- so that's when the annulment came in. We got the annulment which I think is finalized today. Billy: Who was the first person to say, 'Hey, this might be the wrong thing.' Jason: Well, we both did. After everything was kind of talked about and it was out, you know, we both sat down and talked. We were like, 'Maybe that was not a very cool thing we should've done,' or 'That probably wasn't the right way or the right thing that we did.' Billy: You could've done that with any girl in the world, but it happens to be Britney Spears. Jason: Well, you know, I don't really... Britney is -- like I said -- a very good friend of mine. We have a really good relationship and just from being around her so much, and before she was Britney Spears, I just never really have thought of her as the way everybody else does. So to me it wasn't really that big of a deal that I was marrying Britney Spears, but obviously somebody does. Billy: As we speak right now, she could be Britney Alexander. Jason: Or I could be Jason Spears. Billy: Take what you can get, right? Jason: Yeah. Billy: What happens now? Jason: From here we're friends. We're going to remain friends. As far as anything else goes, I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know from here. Billy: Before Christmas Eve, was there a romance? Was there love? Jason: Definitely. Jennifer Aniston was on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday and was asked about Britney Spears' quick wedding and even quicker annulment. The actress seemed interested in learning what happened the half day Britney and Jason Alexander were hitched. "What happened between that little period of time," she asked. "I'm so curious." Aniston didn't make mention to Britney's public crush of her hubby Brad Pitt though. Read on for a transcript. Dave: Now, you're a big star, and you married a big star, brad pitt, right? Jen: Yeah. Dave: So when you see something like this britney spears half day marriage what do you think of that? Jen: She really did half day, didn't she? Dave: Ten, 14 hours. Jen: Yes I am, no I'm not. Britney's single again! The joke that went to far as Britney reported is been over. The wedding took place on Saturday, January 3 at 5.30am at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas was aunulled by filing a "complaint for annulment" by Las Vegas lawyer, David Chesnoff, in Family Court at 10:12am. What will the parents think? Telegraph News Online reports that Dennis Alexander, Jason Alexanders' father, was not angry. Citing, "Hell, I don't blame him. I would have done the same. If Jennifer Lopez had called me up and invited me to New York, I would have been straight there." However, Britney's father, Jamie Spears, was not so laid back on the matter. "There was no wedding," he told reporters. News is sketchy but the annulment papers said, "There are grounds for this court to grant an annulment ... because plaintiff Spears lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage." Adding "before entering into the marriage, the plaintiff and defendant did not know each other's likes and dislikes, each other's desires to have or not have children, and each other's desires as to state of residency. Upon learning of each other's desires, they are so incompatible that there was a want of understanding of each other's actions in entering into this marriage." Britney and Jason Allen Alexander thought of the idea to get married early Saturday morning. In an interview with Britney at Jason Allen Alexander's home by Access Hollywood, Britney reported "It was just crazy, man." And we were just looking at each other and said, 'Let's do something wild, crazy. Let's go get married, just for the hell of it.'" What about the honeymoon? According to reports the honeymoon took place at the Palms hotel where Britney was staying at. In ending to the joke, Clark County District Court spokesman Michael Sommermeyer said, because of Nevada law, any income earned while the two were married could be contested. MTV reports As Britney Spears works to undo her quickie Vegas wedding less than two days after tying the knot, a Nevada judge will have the final say on whether or not the nuptials stand. Spears, 22, wed longtime friend Jason Allen Alexander at Las Vegas' Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip in the early morning hours on Sunday (see "Britney Spears Married In Las Vegas, At Least For A Little While"). Through her record label, the pop star said that she plans to file annulment papers on Monday (January 5). Britney's camp claims that the singer "took a joke too far," and hopes that the annulment will become official on Monday. However, the couple will need to prove to a Nevada judge that their union meets one of six valid reasons for annulment: unsound mind, physical incapacity, force, fraud, prior existing marriage or underage participants. Witnesses at the ceremony have told reporters that Spears was sober during the wedding. If a judge rules that none of the above reasons apply and that the marriage cannot be annulled, Spears and Alexander will have to file for divorce.

The U.S. singing star has emerged top of the list of searches worldwide in 2003 -- no less than 55 billion of them -- on the Google search engine. It seems it can only continue in 2004 with with the reports that the 22-year-old pop star married childhood friend Jason Alexander at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip in Las Vegas on Saturday -- then wanted the nuptuals annulled. Harry Potter is second and Matrix third in Google's annual Zeitgeist list. Google explains the word Zeitgeist as German for time + spirit or "the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of the era." Globally, Shakira was fourth, soccer star David Beckham fifth, rappers 50 cent sixth, Iraq seventh and Lord of the Rings eighth. Kobe Bryant was ninth and the Tour de France 10th. In Britain the most searched for name of 2003 was Prince Charles. According to Britain's Independent newspaper, millions of Britons searched for the words "Prince Charles" in November when the heir to the throne took the unprecedented step of identifying himself as the central character in a series of rumors. News about the prince was more sought after by his subjects than that of the country's sporting idols, including rugby hero Johnny Wilkinson (fourth), and David Beckham (sixth). The soap opera Eastenders was second, and Winnie the Pooh was third. Most popular brand worldwide were Ferrari (first), Sony (second), BMW (third), Disney (fourth), and Ryanair (fifth). Check this out... I wake up, and as I'm going to work, I hear on the radio news that Britney got married. What luck, I had to be at work all day without reporting this, and it was in the back of my mind the whole day. Now I get home and find out how big this joke was. I mean in less than 1 hour, it was being reported all over the world, from the US to China and then back to the US. Since this wedding was a joke that went to far, why now? It would have been a great April Fools Day joke.

Britney Spears married a childhood friend from Louisiana in an early morning ceremony, but quickly arranged to have it annulled, a source close to the singer told The Associated Press on Sunday. George Maloof Jr., owner and operator of the Palms Casino Hotel, confirmed that the 22-year-old Spears married Jason Allen Alexander of Kentwood, La., about 5:30 a.m. Saturday at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. "Nobody knew it was coming," said Maloof, Spears' good friend. The two arranged an annulment Saturday afternoon in the presence of several people, including a Las Vegas lawyer, said a source close to Spears who spoke on condition of anonymity. The signed annulment will be filed when the courts open Monday morning, the source said. Calls to Spears' representatives were not immediately returned. Spears and Alexander journeyed by limousine to the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip after a stop at the Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel. The chapel staff told the couple they couldn't get married without a license, so they were taken to get a license and driven back to the chapel, where they were married. The bride wore a baseball cap and torn jeans down the aisle and was escorted by a Palms limousine driver, the source told the AP. Maloof denied rumors that Spears was drunk and had to be carried out of the Rain nightclub inside the Palms on New Year's Eve. "I was with her the whole night," he said. "None of those reports were accurate. She was just having a good time." Spears was still staying at the Palms and was expected to leave Sunday. Employees at the chapel declined comment. Alexander was back in his hometown Sunday, according to his grandfather, Robert Alexander. "He'd been through a lot. We picked him up in New Orleans coming back and he didn't have much to say," the elder Alexander told Entertainment Tonight. "I wish them well," he said. "Whatever happens, happens." He said Spears and Alexander had also spent Christmas Eve together. Calls to Alexander's family home in Kentwood, La. were answered by a machine. A little more detail from the past few days. Review-Journal reported that Britney was in Las Vegas to celebrate New Year's Eve while staying in the "Real World" suite at the Palms, was seen dining at N9NE, the Palms' steakhouse, on Saturday night with Alexander, her brother Brian, manager Larry Rudolph, Palms owner George Maloof and friends. The shocking development, first reported on the Review-Journal Web site at 7:17 p.m. Saturday, unfolded a day after reports that Spears was seen being carried out of Rain, the Palms' nightclub, on New Year's Eve. The New York Daily News had Spears swilling the bubbly for four hours at N9NE before going upstairs to ghostbar after midnight. I was on the ghostbar's observatory deck at 11:15 p.m. when Spears and her entourage arrived and stood 2 feet away. She showed no signs of being snockered. She danced on the glass floor area, chain-smoked and chatted with friends. Maloof acknowledged that Spears partied at Rain later but was more tired than tipsy, after a 10-hour flight from the Caribbean. Spears was back at Rain on Thursday night in a VIP booth and had the crowd buzzing about her behavior when she was spotted kissing one of her female dancers -- smooches that made her infamous Madonna liplock look tame.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all from Britney Spears, the pop princess, 22, has gotten married -- at a little Vegas chapel, wearing a baseball cap, to a childhood friend, sources close to the singer say. A hotel bellman walked her down the aisle. But before you make any plans to send wedding gifts, a source close to the pop star insists it was all a joke that went too far, and that Spears is already making plans to annul the marriage. Says someone close to Spears: "I don't know what's going through her mind." Spears's husband -- at least for the time being -- is named Jason Allen Alexander, and, like the singer, is from Kentwood, La. The two tied the knot early Saturday morning in Las Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, sources tell PEOPLE. The wedding plan was apparently hatched Friday night while Spears and Alexander were partying at Ghostbar, the hip club in the Palms Casino Hotel. The club's bouncers got word that Spears wanted a limo. One of the hotel's lime-green limos was provided, being driven by a hotel bellman, who shuttled the couple to the Little White Wedding Chapel, a famous quick-hitch place where everybody from Dixie Chick Natalie Maines to Bruce and Demi have tied the knot. Chapel staff told the couple that they couldn't get married without a license, so the pair was taken by the limo to the Clark County Marriage Bureau office in the downtown Las Vegas courthouse at some point after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. They applied for and were granted the marriage license, then rode back to the chapel, where they were married. Spears wore jeans and a baseball cap. Alexander had on a casual shirt. The bellman walked Spears down the aisle. There were no friends or family in attendance. The whole thing was videotaped by the chapel, and Spears has been showing the world's craziest wedding video to friends. "I don't even know if she loves him," says a source. The honeymoon, such as it was, took place back at a luxury suite at the Palms immediately after the wedding. Then, Saturday night, Spears dined with her manager, her brother, Palms owner George Maloof and a couple of friends at a hotel steakhouse. Little is known about Alexander. A source says that he and Spears were childhood friends who recently hooked up -- then hitched up. They had spent New Year's Eve together at the hotel's Rain nightclub, then retired to the suite. Just when you thought you'd seen it all from Britney Spears, the pop princess, 22, has gotten married -- at a little Vegas chapel, wearing a baseball cap, to a childhood friend, sources close to the singer say. A hotel bellman walked her down the aisle. But before you make any plans to send wedding gifts, a source close to the pop star insists it was all a joke that went too far, and that Spears is already making plans to annul the marriage. Says someone close to Spears: "I don't know what's going through her mind." Spears's husband -- at least for the time being -- is named Jason Allen Alexander, and, like the singer, is from Kentwood, La. The two tied the knot early Saturday morning in Las Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, sources tell PEOPLE. The wedding plan was apparently hatched Friday night while Spears and Alexander were partying at Ghostbar, the hip club in the Palms Casino Hotel. The club's bouncers got word that Spears wanted a limo. One of the hotel's lime-green limos was provided, being driven by a hotel bellman, who shuttled the couple to the Little White Wedding Chapel, a famous quick-hitch place where everybody from Dixie Chick Natalie Maines to Bruce and Demi have tied the knot. Chapel staff told the couple that they couldn't get married without a license, so the pair was taken by the limo to the Clark County Marriage Bureau office in the downtown Las Vegas courthouse at some point after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. They applied for and were granted the marriage license, then rode back to the chapel, where they were married. Spears wore jeans and a baseball cap. Alexander had on a casual shirt. The bellman walked Spears down the aisle. There were no friends or family in attendance. The whole thing was videotaped by the chapel, and Spears has been showing the world's craziest wedding video to friends. "I don't even know if she loves him," says a source. The honeymoon, such as it was, took place back at a luxury suite at the Palms immediately after the wedding. Then, Saturday night, Spears dined with her manager, her brother, Palms owner George Maloof and a couple of friends at a hotel steakhouse. Little is known about Alexander. A source says that he and Spears were childhood friends who recently hooked up -- then hitched up. They had spent New Year's Eve together at the hotel's Rain nightclub, then retired to the suite. Christina's Love/Hate Relationship Explained

Could Christina's crazy minute to minute change in behavior towards Britney be concluded to having Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)? According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Popdirt.com explains: "People with PTSD also experience emotional numbness and sleep disturbances, depression, anxiety, and irritability or outbursts of anger. (Irritability or outbursts of anger? That would explain her getting angry at everything and dissing everyone. Also, according to Christina's Rolling Stone interview that she did a while back, and of course what Justin Timberlake has said recently, she "shuts down" alot. According to Rolling Stone, she'll zone out of everything, and even if you yell her name or tap her on the shoulder, she won't hear you. Christina also said that she has "alot of weird visions". Shelly said in Rolling Stone that she wonders if Christina's "zoning out" stems from childhood experiences. Could this be another disorder? Another consequence of childhood violence are alot of other disorders, including multiple-personality-disorder which Christina might have. I've always wondered why Christina is so mean in one interview (example: Rolling Stone 2002) and she can be so nice in another (20/20). Her reactions in interviews always seem to change. Another example is in Blender, she was dissing Britney Spears. And in Italian Vogue, which came out 2 weeks after Blender, she was talking about what a good friendship they have. The cause of multiple personality disorder is thought to be psychological trauma, such as chronic physical abuse or sexual abuse, in childhood. The disorder is more common in females than males. What could have caused this? Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns has said before that she has post-traumatic stress disorder from what happened with Fausto and people who have suffered abuse as children or who have had other previous traumatic experiences are more likely to develop the disorder." Dot Music reports Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have resurrected their acrimonious relationship, following a series of mutual insults in recent interviews. Spears and Aguilera, who have been on-off friends since childhood, were thought to have made-up following their well-publicised 'kiss' at last year's MTV Music Video Awards. However, the gloves are back on, after Aguilera claimed Britney was "desperate" for support and had lost her way in recent years. Following their performance at the MTV show, Aguilera told Blender magazine's December issue: "She seemed very distant, even during rehearsals...She seems to me like a lost little girl, someone who desperately needs guidance." Toxic Video To Have A Spy Theme

Britney Spears is doing Justin Timberlake one better in her new video. Where her real-life ex just stalked his cheating lover in his clip for "Cry Me a River," Spears takes a more lethal approach in her recently shot "Toxic." In the Joseph Kahn-directed video, Spears plays a femme fatale who'll do just about anything to procure a poisonous potion so she can kill her cheating ex, played by actor Martin Henderson ("The Ring," "Windtalkers"). Spears discovers his indiscretions when she climbs up a wall and sees Henderson with another woman, leading her on a mission of revenge that lands her in precarious James Bond-esque situations where not everyone is what they seem, thanks to masks and other disguises, according to a rep for the director. In one scenario, Spears pretends to be a stewardess and picks out a sizable guy on an airplane for a bathroom interrogation that has some mile-high-club innuendo — only to have him turn out to be a well-cut model in disguise (played by the masseur from Fountains of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom" video). She ends up getting the potion on this flight, but still must chase Henderson through European locations, which were recreated on soundstages in Los Angeles during the shoot last week. Model Tyson Beckford assists the singer with a lift on his motorbike in one Paris setting. Besides the flight-attendant wear, Spears also sports a black cat suit, and at one point wears nothing but pasted-on diamonds in the video. Henderson co-stars with Ice Cube in Kahn's upcoming debut feature film, "Torque," which opens January 16.
