Britney Pulls Out of Restaurant Business
Some more interesting news about Britney's restaurant coming from Los Angeles Times.

Britney Spears has severed all ties to her New York restaurant, Nyla, saying that it suffers from mismanagement.

Spears' decision comes amid an involuntary petition of bankruptcy that was recently filed against Pinky Enterprises LLC, which runs Spears' restaurant. In the petition, three vendors, Dairyland USA Corp., Ocean Clear Inc. and Sam Tell & Son Inc., allege they have not been paid in excess of $25,000. The petition was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court last month.

In a written statement, Spears says she had no involvement in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, which opened in June of last year.

Britney's Menu Makeover
Yahoo News reported and asked has Britney Spears' fried okra been cooked?
Certainly, the dish itself has been--banished from the menu of the popster's fledgling New York City restaurant, amid a would-be image makeover and behind-the-scenes shakeup.

To be sure, all is not cooking at Nyla, Spears' virgin foray into chow biz.


The Manhattan eatery opened in June, billed as a "hip restaurant with a Southern flair" (hence, the okra). If Brit's antsy creditors are any sign, Nyla is now a struggling restaurant...with spaghetti.

The menu makeover, from vegetarian hominy stew to tomato sauce, comes after the departure of Spears' original consulting chefs, as well that of partner Bobby Ochs, the impresario who previously helped launch the culinary careers of Marla Maples (Peaches) and Patrick Swayze (Mulholland Drive).

It also comes as three Nyla food suppliers have gone to court to force the joint into Chapter 7 bankruptcy on account of $25,000-plus in unpaid bills for seafood and dairy goodies and equipment supplies. (The petition, naming Spears' Pinky Enterprises, is posted in all its glory on The Smoking Gun.)

A call seeking comment from a Nyla rep was not returned Monday.

To the New York Post, the owner of the restaurant's Manhattan headquarters, the Dylan Hotel, made it sound as if Spears is not prepared to write off her eatery as a big "Oops..."

"Britney said she wanted the best, so we hired [new chef] Larry Forgione," Morris Moinian told the Post.

Moinian described the revised menu as "continental with an Italian flavor."

To Reed Tucker, restaurant writer for Time Out New York, the new Nyla is not unlike the old Nyla--"another bad Midtown New York restaurant that just [happens] to be owned by Britney Spears (news)."

Tucker says the restaurant was D.O.A. from the start. "To me, it didn't seem to be able to decide what it wanted to be," Tucker says.

Nyla, named for New York and Spears' native Louisiana, opened its doors with a bash that Tucker's magazine dubbed "Worst Party of the Year."

The rain-soaked red-carpet affair suffered from a star-power outage. Reported invitees Jennifer Lopez (news) and Cher were no-shows, leaving the all-wet paparazzi with B-listers like Debbie Gibson and David Copperfield. Spears didn't help matters much, showing up an hour late to her own shindig.

But Nyla's biggest sin was its food. A curious mix of Southern sushi and short ribs, crabmeat gumbo and fried chicken, the menu was meant to give foodies a taste of Spears' beloved Cajun cuisine. But the foodies found the stuff bland.

"[The new menu is] certainly better, but I think it's too late," Tucker says. "If you're a serious diner in New York City, there's no way you'd be caught dead there."

If Nyla didn't work for foodies, that'd be one thing--certainly, the still-spinning Planet Hollywood chain has never been lauded by critics. But, according to Tucker, Nyla doesn't work for Britney fans, either.

Inside the restaurant, there's "no trace of Britney Spears," says Tucker--no pictures, no records, just menus full of moderately priced entrees (think $15) that seem pricey splurges to cash-strapped teenage girls.

If Nyla stiffs, Spears will join Maples and Swayze as failed celeb restaurateurs. If it turns around, she'll be the all-new J.Lo, whose Madre's in Pasadena, California, is still hot stuff.

Unfortunately for Brit, Tucker predicts the former, not the latter: "I think it's definitely over."

Britney's Sister To Pull Down Justin's Trousers On TV
Ananova reported that Britney Spears' little sister will be seen pulling Justin Timberlake's trousers down on American TV this weekend.

Jamie Lynn Spears is part of the cast of Nickelodeon's programme All That.

Timberlake is the guest star in an episode to be broadcast this weekend.

In a sketch Spears plays an 84-year-old female bouncer, who is said to be inspired by her Grandma reports Entertainment Tonight.

When Timberlake tries to sneak past her, she ends up pulling down his trousers to teach him a lesson. But he is wearing multi-coloured boxer shorts underneath.

Britney's Voice Of Donner In "Hooves of Fire"
MTV News reported that from the sound of it, Britney Spears has a crush on Ben Stiller.

No, Spears hasn't suddenly gone public with a post-Justin romance. The mushiness arises between the pop princess and one-time king of the music video cameo when they each lend their voice to reindeer in two holiday TV specials.

Spears will play Donner, one of Santa's nine — if you count Rudolph — flying beasts of burden, in a pair of 30-minute specials about Robbie the Reindeer, set for broadcast December 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, according to a network spokesperson. Stiller provides the voice of Robbie.

For those unfamiliar with the hoofed hero, he originated in the U.K., the star of the award-winning, 1999 BBC special "Robbie The Reindeer in Hooves of Fire." Animated with 3D models, the show has been re-voiced for U.S. audiences.

Spears' Donner has the hots for Robbie, who is trying to earn a spot on Santa's team. The only problem is that Robbie is intent on playing "reindeer games" with the aptly named Vixen (voiced by Leah Remini of "The King of Queens").

The exclusive-to-the-U.S. second episode, "Robbie The Reindeer in Legend of the Lost Tribe," has Robbie and some Vikings duking it out with that pain-in-the-hoof (and ex-con released on good behavior) Blitzen, who's trying to launch a reindeer theme park. Robbie, Donner, Prancer and others are determined to stop him and his underhanded ways.

Hugh Grant, Jim Belushi, Jerry Stiller and CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf and Dick Enberg, posing as announcers of the Reindeer Races, are other recognizable voices in the program.

The original version of "Hooves of Fire" was broadcast on the Fox Family Channel earlier this year, featuring the voice of British pop star Robbie Williams, whose role has been filled by actor James Woods in the domestic version.

Britney Wins At MTV Asia Awards 2002
This Year, 2002: Britney won the Best FEMALE in the [first ever] MTV Asia Awards 2002 held in Singapore.

Next Year, 2003: Britney is not nominated for the Best Female Category although she won it last year BUT she is nominated for Best Video in I Love Rock 'n' Roll and is currently receving a lot of votes from her upset fans in asia as we have complained for her nominated for Best Female in the upcoming MTV Asia Awards 2003 held in Singapore in January.

Britney’s had the best time while on her break. She was a little restless at first, which is natural after going at such a fast pace for so long. But now she’s gotten “into the groove” of her time off. It’s great for me because I get to see more of her than usual. She spends her time in New York, Los Angeles, and here in Kentwood -- roller blading, going to see movies, and visiting friends and family.

She also spent a week in London recently, to begin the recording process. She’s very excited about the next album, because she’s been writing some great new songs and is going to be collaborating with new producers that she’s wanted to work with for a long time.

She also took some time to visit Laura Lynne at L.S.U. Laura got a new off-campus apartment, so Britney helped her set it up. They both have a lot of creative ideas for decorating. Britney likes to visit Laura Lynne down in Baton Rouge and hang out with her friends. For the most part, they all just treat Brit like one of the gang, which is really great. Besides, any time the two of them get together, it’s a guaranteed good time!

This week Britney was recognized at an awards event in L.A. for her dedication to children’s causes by the Neil Bogart Foundation. With her own Foundation and the Camp for the Performing Arts, children’s charities and issues have been an important part of her career. It was very nice to have the people she works with acknowledge her commitment.

Sometimes I can’t believe how quickly time has flown. Halloween’s over and Thanksgiving’s just around the corner. I’m looking forward to it, and hoping that the whole family will be able to get together.

Britney Fashionably Disses Her Ex
Katrillion reported that first came Julia Roberts with her "It's Alovera" tee, then Winona Ryder graced a magazine cover donning a "Free Winona" top ... is Britney Spears joining a growing celebrity trend of expressing her sentiments via fashion?

According to the New York Post, the pop princess may be ready to respond to the growing rumors that she cheated on former flame, Justin Timberlake.

Spears was recently spotted wearing a t-shirt that says "Dump Him," causing some to think the shirt can only be directed at one person: Timberlake's rumored gal pal, "Charmed" star Alyssa Milano.

People and US Weekly are currently in a bidding war to grab the pic for upcoming features on the former couple, but it's safe to assume that whoever the shirt's directed at, this is one fashion statement that won't go unnoticed.

Britney Spears' Hiatus Is History
VH1 reported that "I've been in the studio for a while," Spears revealed at the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund's annual Bogart Tour for a Cure event on Monday. "I've written plenty of stuff. It's really cool, really good."

Spears said she took three months off after her world tour wrapped in July — she had originally vowed to take six — but has since been working on the follow-up to last year's Britney.

While British tabloids following Spears on a recent London trip linked her with producers William Orbit (Madonna), Guy Chambers (Kylie Minogue) and Shep Soloman (Westlife), the singer would not confirm any of her collaborators.

"I can't tell you, then it won't be cool when it comes out," Spears said. "There has been a couple [producers] overseas."

Spears was honored Monday with the Children's Choice Award for her charitable efforts, which include a namesake foundation and a performing arts camp to benefit sick and disadvantaged children. Britney also raised $1 million during her Dream Within a Dream Tour for kids affected by the September 11 attacks.

"I'm very excited about tonight," Spears said. "Any time you can go to an event where it's about giving back, that's what it's about."

Britney's next record likely won't be released until late next year, though fans can keep up with the pop princess through "Staged," a book and DVD due out later this month.

Britney Honored With Children's Choice Award from Neil Bogart Memorial Fund
Entertainment Tonight reported that BRITNEY SPEARS ventured out to Hollywood Monday night in front of an appreciative crowd -- not to perform, but to receive an award for her benevolent contributions to children. Tonight on ET, catch all the highlights of this extra-special event!

Britney received the prestigious Children's Choice Award from The Neil Bogart Memorial Fund for her strong commitment to children's issues and charitable giving. Through her Britney Spears Foundation, the Louisiana native has created fun-filled playrooms for sick children in hospitals. Her Dream Within a Dream Tour raised a million dollars for children of the victims of 9/11. And her Britney Spears Camp for the Performing Arts continues to provide acting, singing and dancing lessons for less privileged children.

"It is an honor to be recognized in the music industry for my commitment to children," said Britney. "I get so much out of seeing a child's self-esteem and happiness grow through the projects I have worked on. To be recognized for this is amazing."

The honor was all part of the annual Bogart Tour for a Cure, hosted by DICK CLARK. Performing at the event at the Universal Amphitheatre (a venue which was also honored), were SUGAR RAY, MICHELLE BRANCH, ASHANTI and SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER.

The Neil Bogart Memorial Fund is dedicated to funding "cutting-edge, bench to bedside research" at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and is continuously working to make landmark discoveries in many fields of science and medicine.

Britney Out of Food Biz?
In the latest issue of US Weekly (November 11th) they mentioned Britney Spears's New York restaurant, Nyla, "is days away from closing," claims an insider. Not that Spears, will lose any money. "She didn't put a single pennt into the restaurant. She just lent her name, nut her name and image are importmant than money," says the source. Spears's rep claims "the restaurant is doing better" buyt didn't know her client's finicial participation. Bedises luring few patrons, in the four months since the eatery opened, Spears's business partner quit, and there have been complaints of food poisoning, citings of violations by the New York City Health Department and even a recent stabbing right outside Nyla, stemming from an earlier altercation inside the restaurent.

Guy Chambers Writing For Britney
dotmusic reported that Britney Spears is working on her new album with Robbie Williams' ex songwriting partner, Guy Chambers, according to reports.

The pop princess is said to have made a number of trips to Guy's studio in North London where the pair have been working on a raunchy new track, 'Sacred'.

Guy, who was recently dumped by Robbie after refusing to work exclusively for the star, has already begun working with Brit boy band BB Mak, pop idol Will Young and new all-girl band, The Licks.

According to a UK tabloid, Britney is keen to boost her flagging career and hopes that Chambers - who co-wrote Robbie hits including 'Angels', 'Millennium' and 'Rock DJ' - will be able to help.

Fanography: Britney Spears on MTV
Make sure to watch MTV tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:30PM to check out Fanography: Britney Spears.

This show takes fans and uses them to explain Britney's story. And a lot of you probably remember in the begining summer, emailing the production company to try and get on the show (as we mentioned it here). And I was actually invited to participate in the show as well but was to busy with work and school to do it, so I never got a chance to participate.
