No Beef Between Hilton and Spears Pooches

Apparently Britney Spears doesn't want any beef with Paris Hilton — or her lapdog, Tinkerbell, either. In the wake of her boast, "I think my dogs are so much cuter than Tinkerbell," Spears has now released a statement on her Website saying, "I was just being silly and of course I think that Tinkerbell is very cute." The pop diva even hopes to set up a play date for their miniscule canines.

Top Of The Pops Magazine and Music Programme is the leading music programme in the Uk and has been running for 30 years, they have said that Do Somethin is the single of the week, heres what they say - SINGLE OF THE WEEK: BRITNEY SPEARS - 'DO SOMETHIN' Or "Do SUH'in", as Britney insists on singing it. In a recent television poll on UK's BBC, Britney Spears won a poll on the video you would most like to watch. Up against Usher and U2, Britney won the poll by 54%. The video "Do Somethin" has become extremely popular in the UK, toping various Most Requested shows, including TMF, MTV Hits, The Box and Smash Hits, the videos popularity has come at a vital time for Britney, with the single for Do Somethin out on Monday 28th February, Britney needs the video to stay in the mainstream, as a cancelled promotional tour leaves the video the only promotional tool she has.

Don't Expect To See Britney At the Oscars Anytime Soon

Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson are among the host of stars barred from attending the Oscars this weekend, to reportedly prevent the evening from turning into a "downmarket scrum". "Britney would have wanted her entourage with her, but the Academy wanted to keep things as tight and as highbrow as possible," a source was quoted by celebrity portal Femalefirst as saying. "They plan to focus on those people who have worked in the film industry for years - not people who are merely celebrities in other areas." But other sources said the decision to ban certain stars was because Hollywood's Kodak theatre holds less than half the capacity of the previous venue, the Shrine Auditorium. Even high-profile stars are reportedly struggling to secure tickets for Sunday's event.

According to the New York Post a representative for Britney and Jennifer Lopez responded to Cher's comment of referring Britney and Jennifer Lopez as "hoes" during her concert in Auckland, New Zealand. According to The New York Post the rep appearently said, "For someone who has had their fair share of bad press, it is surprising she would comment on two women she hardly knows."

Rivalry has always been rife in hollywood. But not content with trying to outdo each other with designer dresses and swish houses, it appears that two of showbiz's richest ladies are now using their pets as secret weapons in the style war. Britney recently claimed that "my dogs are so much cuter than (pairs Hilton's dog) tinkerbell". And she seems determined to prove it by following in paris's footsteps,trussing up Bit Bit the chihuahua in designer gear. Just days after Paris was seen sashaying around with her chihuahua Tinkerbell sporting a swanky pink and white satin jacket, Bit Bit was seen wearing a lovely red winter coat, complete with furry black collar. And when Paris's minder was spotted transporting Tinkerbell around in a gorgeous pink carrier, it wasn't long before Britney bought Bit Bit what looks like a miniature baby cot. However, we can't help but think the girls are taking things a bit far. Arnold Talks Of Spears' Bizarre Fall

Britney Spears once laid out in the hallway of her apartment building for hours and hours, refusing the help of passers-by, according to former neighbour Tom Arnold. Arnold briefly lived in the same Los Angeles building as the TOXIC singer last year (04), and he was stunned when he stepped out of his condominium one day. He says of Spears, "Ed McMahon always says he discovered her on Star Search, but I discovered her on the floor of the hallway when I tripped over her... I thought it was my wife who had passed out from shopping but it was (Britney). "She was laying out flat and I said, 'Are you okay?' And she said, 'Yes sir.' And I said, 'Do you know who I am?' She said, 'Yes sir.' I said, 'Do you need some help?' She said, 'I'm locked out sir.' I said, 'I'll get security to let you in.' She said, 'No, sir, I'm fine.' It's when she had her knee hurt and she was heavily medicated. It looked like a lot of fun. "I had to run upstairs. About a half-hour later I called my sister-in-law (and said,) 'Hey look in the hall and see if Britney's on the floor out there,' And she was! "I tell you this is how sometimes women think. She was waiting for her boyfriend at the time, that Kevin (Federline) guy to come home so he could see her and go, 'Oh, you fell! Okay, I'll help you up.' Now I would do that for like three minutes so my wife would feel sorry for me, but a woman will do that for hours."

Cher has reportedly branded fellow pop divas J-Lo and Britney Spears "hos" [shorthand slang for whore] during a concert. The singer launched an attack on her younger rivals before 20,000 fans in Auckland, according to the New York Post. "I'm not going to give up showbusiness but I'm going to give up touring because, you know, there are all of these young girls coming out like Britney [Spears] and J-Lo," she allegedly said. When booed, Cher is said to have smirked and added: "I know - they are hos, aren't they?" The 56-year-old singer is on the final leg of her Living Proof farewell tour, which is now into its third year. "In The Zone" is Being Rereleased

omba Records and Jive announce a DualDisc for favourite, Bowling for Soup. The DualDisc is of their A Hangover You Don't Deserve. This is scheduled for April 19. And here's a few more for you. J Records will issue one for Gavin DeGraw of his Chariot album. That is also expected on April 19. More? RCA will release Kasabian's Kasabian titled album on DualDisc and Kings of Leon's Aha Shake Heartbreak (Ahh, good old fashioned opportunism. Could this DualDisc treatment be because of the U2 tour invite and thus lots of exposure? hmmmm). Both of those RCA DualDiscs are scheduled for April 26. J Records will street Turning Point from Mario in DualDisc format on April 19. Again, Zomba and Jive Records will reissue Britney Spears' In the Zone on DualDisc and Three Days Grace's self-titled album, also on DualDisc, both scheduled for April 19. Is Britney Spears complaining about her privacy being violated, or about not getting paid? Spears issued a statement this week saying she was angry that Us Weekly published photos of her honeymoon. Us Weekly has issued a statement to The Associated Press saying, "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy." The statement suggests, "Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos?" It also says Spears "should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage." Britney Spears says the veil has been lifted on her honeymoon, and she's not happy. Photos of Spears and her new husband, Kevin Federline, are on the cover of Us Weekly magazine under the headline: "Britney's Private Album!" Other pictures of the couple's October honeymoon in the Fiji islands are displayed on five pages inside the magazine, on newsstands Friday. Spears quickly issued a statement condemning the use of the photographs, which show the happy couple relaxing and enjoying breakfast on the beach. "Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised absolute privacy and seclusion," the 23-year-old pop star said. Or was it was the Swedish producers Christian "Bloodshy" Karlsson and Pontus "Avant" Winnberg that really won the American Grammy for 2004's best dance song "Britney Spears - Toxic"? The duo wasn't on stage in LA to receive the award due to their upcoming colabo with Madonna. - "It is like winning the Olympics to us," says Christian (Bloodshy) It is said the Bloodshy and Avant won't share the award with Britney Spears, who was wrongfully reported to be the winner of the award. Britney Leaves BBC Radio Waiting

Britney Spears has angered bosses at a British radio station after pulling out of a scheduled appearance "without any real reason". Superstar rival Jennifer Lopez has stepped in at the last minute to co-host BBC Radio 1's morning show with DJ Jo Whiley after the blonde superstar cancelled the interview, scheduled for tomorrow, February 17, 2005. Radio 1 spokesperson Nicholas Caleysays, "She (Spears) cancelled without any real reason. "We don't have written contracts but it was agreed between the programme's producer and her record plugger. "It was in place but she pulled out." David Frossman from Spears' British record label BMG explains, "The diaries didn't work out. "She is coming to Britain but later in the spring."

Pop star Britney Spears won the first Grammy Award of her brief but colorful career on Sunday, taking the prize in the best dance recording category. Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline have settled down into domestic bliss, denying reports that their marriage is on the rocks. The pair say they will be together for ever and are planning to launch a clothing line together later this year. Federline, who left pregnant girlfriend Shar Jackson for the pop princess last year, admits he could never have imagined the way things turned out. “I’ll tell you one thing, I never thought any of this would happen,” he said. “I could go on for ever about my love for this girl.” The former pizza-delivery boy turned dancer told Details magazine that Britney was incredibly proud of him. “I could be sitting at home doing nothing. I could be playing video games. She’s more proud of me than anyone has ever, ever, ever been in my lifetime,” he said. He admits that their parents warned them not to rush in when they announced their decision to marry last September, after just five months together. “Our parents were telling us to take our time,” he said. “But I mean, it’s like, we knew. An advert featuring Britney Spears writhing naked with a hunky male model to promote her Curious perfume has been stamped with a restricted rating by British watchdogs. The 30-second commercial shows the Toxic singer alone in a hotel room fantasising about the man in the next room. The action then quickly cuts to a steamy love scene between the two, with viewers unsure if it's really happening or simply in Britney's imagination. However, the advert can't be shown before 7.30pm on British TV after the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Center decided its content is too strong for younger viewers. It will be debuted during British network ITV's recorded coverage of the Brit Awards tomorrow night (2/10/05).

Britney To Perform Do Somethin' In UK

Markymark33 posted in the forums that Two shows have confirmed performances from Britney when she comes to the UK for the launch of Curious and to promote Do Somethin' from the 21st to the 27th February. Fearn Britton (from Top of the Pops Saturday) confirmed on CBBC that Britney would be dropping into the Top of the Pops studio during that week to give the world's first performance of Do Somethin' and gave details of a competion to meet Britney at the BBC studios. Meanwhile, this morning, GM:TV confirmed Britney would be dropping in to perform her new single and to talk about her new perfume. Britney is also suspected to be dropping into the CD:UK studio and TRL too. The official Curious launch is on the 21st February at London's Grovsner House.

Britney Sues For 9.8 Million Dollars

MTV reports The insurers have refused the claim because they say Spears did not inform them of a 1999 knee injury on an insurance form. Spears injured her knee during a show in Moline, Illinois, on March 18, 2004, forcing the cancellation of two dates. The tour continued shortly after that, but on June 8, she re-injured the knee during the video shoot for "Outrageous" and had arthroscopic surgery the following day to correct the damage. The remainder of the tour dates were subsequently scrapped (see "Britney's Fall: The Never-Before-Seen Footage"). "These are the same insurers who had provided her with policies on four previous tours and they had cleared her and were aware of the previous injury," said Jonathan Stoler, one of Spears' attorneys. To date, the insurance companies have refused to pay Spears out on the policy — which cost her $1.3 million to take out — because they claim the singer did not fully inform them about the previous knee injury. Stoler said the failure to disclose was an "innocent omission," not an attempt to mislead. "The alleged omission related to a question whereby Ms. Spears was asked if in the past five years she had had any surgery," Stoler said. "Ms. Spears, in all prior circumstances, had indicated she had, but at the time she was going through this application she did answer 'no.' It had not been a full five years, but four years and eleven months since the surgery [in 1999] and even if she had answered in the affirmative, our contention is that it makes no difference." A spokesperson for one of the firms named in the suit, QBE International Insurance Limited of London, said the firm was unable to comment on the case. The other firms could not be reached for comment. The $9.8 million Spears is seeking includes the cost of the policy, as well as related expenses the singer is responsible for as a result of the tour's cancellation, Stoler said, among them canceled contracts with performers and venues, production costs and lost profits. Stoler said a physician approved by the insurers examined Spears after the Moline injury and indicated that it was not related to her 1999 knee problem. "Same knee, opposite side," Stoler said, adding that even after the re-injury on the set of the video, the insurers offered to extend Spears' coverage. Stoler declined to say how long after the cancellation of the tour Spears first attempted to obtain reimbursement.

A Close Encounter of the Britney Kind

Spears makes a surprise visit to KIIS/Los Angeles. It was just your average day in beautiful downtown Burbank. At least it started out that way for Clarence Barnes, who has been doing weekends for quite sometime at KIIS/Los Angeles - when he's not doing mornings at KOSS/Palmdale, CA or his other gig as executive producer of The Rick Dees Top 40. On the Thursday before New Year's, otherwise known as New Year's Eve Eve, Barnes was minding his own business while filling in for KIIS afternoon driver Valentine when he received a call on the request line - a call that not only profoundly changed his life and the lives of everyone in Southern California, but, more important, a call that was instrumental in helping us fill this entire page with words. No Way In Hell At around 6 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2004, Barnes' phone op burst into the studio to breathlessly give him the news: Someone claiming to be Britney Spears was on the request line. Now, Barnes is not fresh out of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting; he's been around a while, and he knew that it was a distinct possibility that the person on the phone could be someone doing a bad Britney impersonation trying to get on the radio. His initial suspicion centered on several bored teenagers out in Pacoima, CA betting on whether they could fool the dude on the radio. "I took the call, and I'm thinking, 'I've spoken to Britney before, and this sounds like her,'" Barnes says. "So I start asking her things like who her manager is. She said she didn't have one, but she gave me the name of her previous manager. I kept going back - I was trying to get Johnny Wright out of her." Illustrating what an incredibly small world this industry is, Barnes spent some time early in his career in the lovely tourist area of Cape Cod, MA, where he worked with Wright at WKPE (Cape 104) - oddly enough, a station owned by David Lee Roth's uncle. But I digress. Wright later went on to manage a few artists you may have heard of, including New Kids On The Block, *NSYNC - and Britney Spears. Wright's name finally came up in Barnes' conversation with the caller, but he still wasn't full convinced, because Wright has been pretty visible on TV. And when the person on the other end of the phone said she wanted to come down to the station and play a track from her new, unfinished CD, Barnes was still skeptical. Cue Spears & Chihuahua "In the back of my mind I'm thinking, 'No signed artist would ever do that, because [Zomba Label Group President/CEO] Barry Weiss would cut them in half with a cleaver," Barnes says. "If you don't have the record out yet, you're going to find some radio guy who will ship it out half done, and the whole project will be trashed." Barnes finally agreed to give the woman/possible psycho directions to the station, expecting that a) no one would ever show up or b) some half-baked Britney lookalike/soundalike would appear shortly thereafter at KIIS's Burbank studios. "About half an hour later my phone op says, 'She just called back. She's going to give the CD to her bodyguard and have him drop it off,'" Barnes says. At this point he was more certain than ever that it was a hoax. "I predicted some random guy was going to walk into the station and drop this CD off," he says. "If we were stupid enough to think it was Britney Spears, we'd play it, and someone in Pacoima would get a big laugh. It's a clever thing to do, because if you do sound like Britney, the papers will all pick it up if we're stupid enough to put it on." Fast forward to an hour later. It's about 7:50 p.m., and Barnes is headed into his last stopset and getting ready to turn things over to Boy Toy Jesse at 8 p.m. The two of them are chatting in the studio when Barnes turns his head to see a huge guy holding a tiny Chihuahua with painted toenails ... standing next to none other than Britney Spears, who is clutching a CD in her hand. OH.MY.GOD! CD Players, Brains Hit Overload Spears apparently had some trouble getting up to the studio and had been standing downstairs until a security guard asked her if she needed help. "I don't even think the security guard knew who she was," Barnes says. "But she said, 'Hi, I'm Britney Spears, and I'm supposed to be up there.'" And then things got weird. "Jesse's brain went on pause," Barnes says. At the same time, Manny - a member of the KIIS street team who also works on Ryan Seacrest's morning show - began chatting up Spears and attempted to give her his business card and pitch his band. Things had been so calm just a minute earlier, and now everything was threatening to spin out of control. Barnes' brain kicked into warp speed as he tried to figure out what to do as the last spot in the break played. It was time to, er, spit or get off the pot. Turns out the studio CD players had gone unused for so long - thanks to the in-house computer system - that they weren't accepting Britney's CD. The clock continued to tick down toward zero as Barnes tried to coax them back to life. What to do? Oh, hell - let's just crack the mike and see what happens: "Ladies and gentlemen, you're never going to believe who's here. Come over and say hi," Barnes said, turning to look at Spears. "I was trying to signal the guys to help me with the CD or pull a microphone over," he says. "She couldn't get close to the mike, so I was sh*tting bricks. Manny was still talking to her, so I told him to shut up, and I told Jesse to move the mike over, but it was like someone had given them some weird potion and their brains were gone." Delicious Britney Goodness Barnes knew he had to act quickly not only because he was vamping live on a 50,000-watt radio station, but also because he was afraid that Spears would change her mind at the last second. "I had to do it ASAP, because if she started thinking it through, any normal person would think they were crazy to do it, and I wanted to get the record on," he says. "I went live because I wanted to ask her to play it on the air. I don't like people who hijack the interview and use it against people they're interviewing - it's not my thing - but I wanted to get the record on the air and just have a little fun." Just then the hot line rang as KIIS MD Julie Pilat called in, the CD player finally fired up, and the delectable sounds of Britney's track "Mona Lisa" began pulsating out of the studio monitors and over the airwaves. "We taped some stuff for later in the show," Barnes says. "Britney was only there for, like, eight minutes, and then she left. She couldn't have been nicer." He adds that she also looked pretty damn good, despite the fact that she wore no make-up and was in your average hang-around-the-house-and-then-spontaneously-decide-to-debut-your-new-song-on-KIIS clothes. Needless to say, the request lines went crazy as half of the greater L.A. area - including building security - called in to ask if that was really Britney Spears. In the end, Barnes has yet another close encounter with Ms. Spears under his belt, KIIS got an exclusive shot at Britney's new record, and no animals were harmed in the process. All in all, it made a great late Christmas, er, generic, nonspecific, nonreligious holiday present for all involved. The album crossed the 10 million sales mark in January. This is Spears' second Diamond honor, as her 1999 debut, ...Baby One More Time, also sold in excess of 10 million copies.

Britney Spears is to appear in a TV advert in the US promoting the anti-acne cream Proactiv Solution. According to the New York Post the 23-year-old is interviewed by actress Vanessa Williams in the infomercial which begins airing tomorrow. P. Diddy, Jessica Simpson and Alicia Keys also speak about problems they have had with acne. Rapper P. Diddy confesses, "I definitely had an acne problem."

Britney Spears is breathing a sigh of relief after a photographer admitted his "naked Britney" images on the internet were fake. Snapper Eric Striffler said the look-a-like of the Toxic singer was a glamour model called Emily after the snaps had spread all over the internet. Spears' spokesperson admits the 23-year-old has been offered up to $20 million to pose for naked photoshoots on numerous occasions. He insists, "She doesn't want to go that way at this point in her life." Britney's spokesperson insisted the pictures were not the singer and said she would never strip for the camera - although she admitted Playboy had approached her "many times". She said: "They even offered her cash to pose on the cover, wearing clothes. I still said 'no'. She doesn't want to go that way at this point in her life."

Britney Spears' husband Kevin Federline underwent a dramatic makeover in preparation for a major magazine photoshoot - under the guidance of his Toxic star wife. Backing dancer Federline was top choice to grace the cover of a forthcoming issue of American men's publication Details, in which he'll be the focus of an extensive feature. Pictures shot by Steven Klein showing Spears' spouse sporting sophisticated suits - instead of his favoured slacker-style attire - will accompany an in-depth interview. And sexy Spears was reportedly a significant influence on the outcome of the classy shots. The New York Post newspaper reports, "Spears, with her tiny pup Bit-Bit in tow, was on hand to direct Federline in the shoot, in which he swapped his wife-beater shirt and baggy jeans for more dapper duds."
