Britney Changes Her PR Rep
If you believe what you read, you likely think pop princess Britney Spears' career has been speared at age 21. But a few weeks back — with uncharacteristic stealth — Spears spiked her longtime Hollywood PR woman and signed with a New York damage-control specialist, who is getting her back on track.

She needed the help. Her record sales began slumping, her film debut, "Crossroads," was no blockbuster, her romance with 'N Sync hottie Justin Timberlake fizzled and her parents split — all within four months last spring. Next, she walked off a stage cursing in Mexico, pulled the plug on a tour, announced she was taking a six-month vacation and bailed out of an ill-fated restaurant venture. Then came reports of sex romps with Limp Bizkit bad boy Fred Durst, nipple-piercing and cocaine abuse.

It was the last that brought her new Mr. Fix-It out into the open, issuing denials. Dan Klores, who has previously ministered to Mike Tyson, Sean Combs and Lizzie Grubman, actually began working for Spears alongside Hollywood flack Lisa Kasteler — "who I like," Klores says — in December. He must have done well because Spears fired Kasteler last month. Kasteler didn't return a call for comment.

Now, Klores, who also represents the Daily News, is invading Kasteler's turf. At a screening last week of the raw and poignant Showtime movie he co-directed, "The Boys of 2nd Street Park," about some childhood pals, Klores revealed he's in talks to direct a second film. Maybe there'll be a part for Britney.

Britney Might Appear on Will & Grace
Watch with Kristin on Yahoo reported are talking about Britney appearing on Will & Grace. First, though, let's clear up a rumor on the girliest girl around--Britney Spears. Fans who went to Tuesday's Will & Grace taping (the one with Madonna) are abuzz about the warm-up comedian's announcement that Britney "might be a guest star coming up."

Though I can think of nothing better to lift our nation's spirits than a fabulous Jack-Brit dance-off (sensaysh!), a source close to the show tells me Miss B.S. has sadly not been cast in either of the two remaining episodes.

But wait, there is hope! The same insider also reveals that producers have talked about Britney appearing as a guest star--so, with a little luck and a few prayers to the goddess of divadom (get busy, tubers), it could happen next season.

Kim Cattrall on Britney in the FHM
In the new FHM magazine on stands right now, April 2003, Kim Cattrall, the woman who played Lucy's mother in Crossroads is interviewed. In the interview she had this to say about Britney:

FHM:You Worked with Britney Spears on Crossroads. What part of her body are you most jealous of?

Kim: I'm not jealous of any part of her body. I think she's beautiful and she works hard. She's very astute. I'm in awe of how together she seems to be. In my early 20s, I certainly wasn't at the helm of an industry

Update to New Boyfriend Rumor
NY Daily News reported that Casey Kasem's hunky son Mike has found love with a close pal of Britney Spears.

But U.K. papers have falsely linked the square-jawed younger Kasem with Spears herself, since they're often seen together.

Spears' rep tells us, "Mike is dating a close friend of Britney's. They hang out together all the time.

RUMOR: Britney Has A New Boyfriend




BRITNEY SPEARS has started dating a clean-living TV presenter who has curbed her wild partying.

She has known MTV host MIKE KASEM since November but things only got serious in the past few weeks.


Britney lost her girl-next-door image after dating Hollywood hellraiser COLIN FARRELL and wild LIMP BIZKIT frontman FRED DURST following her split from JUSTIN TROUSERSNAKE.


But Mike —— the son of legendary US radio DJ and telly chart host CASEY KASEM —— is a choirboy by comparison.


Instead of bars and clubs, the couple have been enjoying romantic dinner dates near Britney’’s home in Louisiana.


They have also been spending nights curled up in front of the TV rather than drinking and smoking until the early hours.


The latest romance is great news for Britney’’s family, who had become worried about the singer’’s non-stop partying.


A pal of Britney’’s said: ““Mike is helping Britney get over
Justin.

““She was going out night after night. Then Mike stepped into her life and he’’s been a positive influence on her.


““He’’s persuaded Britney to keep her partying to a minimum. He would like her to stop drinking entirely.


Mike’’s strong and stable and doesn’’t do drink or drugs. He’’s fun and outgoing and showing Britney you don’’t have to party to the extreme to have a good time.””


Casey, now 70 —— who became a household name in the US when hosted America’’s Top Ten radio show during the 1980s - confirmed last night: ““Britney’’s a super talent and my son thinks she’’s a great girl.””

Britney’’s pals are also relieved she has finally found someone who will help her get back on the straight and narrow following her bitter split from Timberlake.

After the break-up she shocked fans when she openly snogged Farrell at the US premiere of his latest movie, The Recruit.


Weeks later Durst spilled the beans about his and Britney’’s passionate romp, claiming she seduced him by wearing a see-through top. Her pal added: ““Mike spends evenings at Britney’’s house.


““He won’’t say if they’’re having sex as he’’s not the kind of guy to kiss and tell.


““But he’’s definitely attracted to her —— what normal guy wouldn’’t be?


““She can depend on Mike and she always wants him around. She feels protected when she’’s with him.””

Jamie Lynn Spears on America's Most Talented Kid
Not exactly Britney news but still interesting related news because Britney's lil sister is growing up and doing more.

In case you didn't know, Jamie Lynn is going to be a judge on the new show on NBC called "America's Most Talented Kid." AMTK will feature kids from all across America competing to be America's Most Talented Kid. There are 3
categories of kids between the ages of 3-7, 8-12, and 13-15. Each week a panel of judges will pick one winner from each age category. Then the winners will go to Los Angeles to compete for the grand prize. Mario Lopez from Saved By The Bell is the host, and Lance Bass is the lead judge. Jamie Lynn is the youngest judge! The other judges are Maureen McCormick (Marcia from the Brady Bunch), Sisqo (rapper), Jermaine Jackson (Michael Jackson's brother), Daisy Fuentes (model/actress), Tiffany (an '80's popstar), Vivica A. Fox (actress), and Lisa Ling (from The View).

On the official site, this is what is says about Jamie Lynn:

Sure, she's Bitney's younger sister, but Jamie Lynn also has a powerful voice of her own. Currently starring in the Nickelodeon show "All That," Jamie Lynn is also busy recording her own music. With her unique talent, Jamie is destined to follow in her big sister's footsteps!

Britney Gets Her Nipple Pierced




BRITNEY SPEARS has boosted her new rock chick image by getting a nipple ring.

The former Little Miss Innocent, who is reinventing herself with a tougher look, stepped out in Los Angeles in a tight white top that revealed the outline of the ring in her right boob.

One onlooker said: "She's always been sexy, now she's raunchy too!"

The shock look is the latest in a series of attempts to shake off her girl-next-door character.

Britney, 21, has romped with badboy rocker Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, started smoking and wears obscene T-shirts.

Britney Facing Skechers Countersuit
KISS 108 in Boston reported that Britney Spears is facing a federal countersuit filed by footwear company Skechers - claiming the pop princess is guilty of fraud and breach of contract.

Skechers claim the "Oops!...I Did It Again" star is responsible for a failed celebrity endorsement deal to the tune of more than $10 million in punitive damages, plus Spears' original paycheck of $1.3 million.

The sexy singer, who lent her name to a signature collection of skating merchandise, Britney 4 Wheelers, allegedly interfered with manufacturing, design and advertising decisions - causing production delays that cost the footwear company millions in lost sales.

In a statement released on Wednesday, a Skechers spokesperson said the company was "continuously shut down, rejected and ignored," all while the singer "fraudulently induced" a sponsorship deal out of the company for her 2001-2002 tour.

Spears filed her own $1.5 million federal breach-of-contract lawsuit in December 2002.

She claimed the Los Angeles-based company improperly sported her face on advertising for its line of regular roller skates, instead of Spears' signature skating line - costing the performer her Christmas sales bonus.

Skechers' defense is that by the time Spears finally got around to picking her color palette, the company had missed its chance to get the Britney blades into stores in time for "key selling seasons."

In her suit, Spears blamed Skechers for the production delays, alleging the company had failed to find a middle-man business that could manufacture her Britney Brands, Inc. skates in a timely manner.

In addition, she accused the shoe firm of misleading customers by using her image in ads for Skechers' existing merchandise before the singer-endorsed skates and accessories could hit store shelves.

Britney Strikes Back At Justin
BeatBoxBetty reported that it is Enough already. As if it wasn't pathetic enough when Justin Timberlake used his "Cry Me A River" video to exorcise the demon known as Britney Spears from his life, now B.S. is slapping back with her own evil twist.

But before I tell you what Britney's got up her sleeveless sleeve, let's just recap what depths the former 'NSYNC-er has sunk to, shall we? Justin's "justice" vid was released back in November and featured 18-year-old model/actress Lauren Hastings playing what could only be construed as a Britney look-alike. Perhaps it was the newsboy cap and tinted pink sunglasses that gave it away -- but we got the point. In the creepy video we see Justin spying on his supposed ex who is seen getting into a car with another man. Plotting his revenge, he breaks into her estate and leaves a tape of himself making out with another woman running on her TV. I guess revenge is a dish best served on a Toshiba.

But alas, as always, where there's a tit there's a tat. Britney has reportedly hit back, striking a low blow with the video footage for her new single "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." According to the U.K. tabloid The Mirror, her latest masterpiece features Britney teasingly flashing a cell phone number and the name "Ben" scrawled on her hand.

Hmm, could she be referring to J.Lo's slave Ben Affleck? If you believe the rumors, supposedly Brit and Ben were all over each other last year at The Sunset Room in Los Angeles and sources claim she winded up with nothing but her Underoos during a game of strip poker with Ben at a friend's house. Let's just hope Loopy Lopez doesn't get a chance to see Britney's latest slap back at Justin -- Ben will never hear the end of it!

There are more than a few artists worthy of the title so we need your help because MTV is trying to determine the ultimate trend-blazing, style-forging pioneers of the video age. Britney Working With A Lot of Producers For Next Album
MTV reported that If the variety of producers she's working with is any indication, Britney Spears' next record will be her most adventurous yet.

Sure, mainstays Rodney Jerkins and the Neptunes are again logging time with the pop princess (see "Britney Spears To Work With Rodney Jerkins Again"), but she has also recorded with Ashanti producer 7 Aurelius and the Matrix, the production team behind Avril Lavigne's hit singles. And don't forget Fred Durst (see "Britney Spears And Fred Durst Shack Up ... In The Studio, At Least").

Both 7, who also worked on the latest Tupac album, and the Matrix have done three tracks with Spears and are hoping to do more.

"I'm doing something for her, something really ridiculous. [A] record I'm going to do for Britney is going to give Justin a reason to cry," Aurelius said, suggesting a song that answers Timberlake's "Cry Me a River," which is widely believed to be about Spears. "It was her people that came and sat down, played me a lot of stuff she did. We sat down and talked out ideas and I got to working on stuff. It sounds crazy."

Spears has said she may explore her hip-hop and rock influences on the follow-up to Britney, but the Matrix's Lauren Christy said that's not exactly the case.

"It's definitely not anywhere near Avril," Christy said. "It's really hard to put it in a box. It's not really R&B-based or dance-based, it's just really good songs. It's not done in a rock way at all, though."

Christy, a former pop singer herself, likened the album to Madonna's Ray of Light, which is fitting since Spears has met with William Orbit, who produced that album, and is said to be working with Mirwais, another Madonna producer. And Durst described his work with Spears as having a trip-hop vibe, like Madonna's "Frozen."

"It's got a really good groove," Christy said of Spears' record so far.

"She's taking it to the next level in her career," the Matrix's Scott Spock added. "Madonna constantly takes what's in the club and puts what she does on top of it and makes it mainstream. I think Britney is starting to embrace that concept where she's looking to work on different stuff, instead of using the same familiar, and applying it to her."

The Matrix have been presenting Spears with songs already written for her, as they did with Lavigne, but she has been active in tailoring them to suit herself, especially the words.

"Lyrically, it's a little deeper, just a little more grown up, but not trying to change the world or anything," Christy said. "The great thing about Britney is she really knows what she wants. She knows if she's trying something on that doesn't fit right for her. She's like, 'No, that's not me.' She's not one to strap on some sort of fake image."

Christy is particularly excited about a track called "Shadow." "She just kills it," the British producer said. "It's amazing. I was really impressed with her vocal ability on it."

Although Spears' album will be different, Spock said fans need not worry. "I don't think they will be freaked out or upset," he said. "I think they'll be really into what's going to happen."

Britney's spokesperson would not confirm the producers for the still-untitled album but said it'll probably be out in October.

Britney Snubbed for Smoking
KISS 108 in Boston reported that Britney Spears has further tarnished her pop princess reputation - after being thrown out of a Los Angeles nightclub for smoking.

The "Stronger" singer was on a night out in Hollywood with pals when her tobacco habit fell foul of California's strict anti-smoking laws - and the door policy at Tinseltown hotspot Joseph's.

And when she refused to stub out her cigarette, sources say Britney was swiftly ejected.

A club insider says, "A year ago Britney was untouchable and no one would have dared tell her what to do. But things are different now. She had it all but she's throwing it all away. The whole thing was embarrassing.

"She thinks that because she's Britney Spears, she can smoke if she wants to - but not any more. Those days are over."

The latest scandal comes just days after her most recent squeeze, Limp Bizkit rocker Fred Durst, revealed the pair had unprotected sex, and marks the end of a deeply traumatic year for Britney - which began with her split from long term love Justin Timberlake last March.

According to pals, the singer - who recently began recording again after a break from the limelight - has now retreated to her family home in Louisiana to escape LA's party culture and the prying eyes of the press.

Britney Hits Back At Fred Durst

ANGRY Britney Spears has blasted her rock star ex Fred Durst — insisting their “romance” was all one-way.

She hit back after foul-mouthed Limp Bizkit singer Durst revealed intimate details of their alleged fling in The Sun last week.

Asked if the pair had really fallen for each other, the 21-year-old pop princess said: “I think him for me, but not me for him.”

She added: “He’s said some pretty amazing things about me. But, um, I think he leaped in too deep, too quick.”

Britney was livid after Durst, 31, claimed she tried to seduce him by arriving at his studio in a see-through blouse at 3am.

He went on to claim the couple later romped in a private room at her Hollywood Hills mansion.

He said: “We were just doing our thing. She was wearing low-rider panties. She was very forward and aggressive.”

Durst also claimed the pair did not use a condom.

Yet Britney told Glamour magazine that, although the rocker was besotted with her, she had never felt any spark for him.

Baptist Britney also told the mag, which named her Woman of the Year, she would never kiss and tell on anyone she dated — branding it unladylike.

She said she was “shocked and disappointed” that hunky NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake — her boyfriend of four years — told all about their bitter break-up in the video for his hit single Cry Me A River.

Britney, who split with Justin a year ago, claims she is no longer in love with him.

Her full interview appears in the second birthday issue of Glamour, on sale from March 6.

Detailed Fan Encounter At Britney's Cancer Forum
The young lady's name is Greis and she got a chance to meet Britney in Louisana at her cancer forum. Below is her story, enjoy.

Ok, so here it is, my Britney experience from Sunday March 2, 2003 in Baton Rouge, LA.

As most of you already know I drove to Baton Rouge to attend the Rally Against Cancer in which the Britney Spears Foundation was sponsor and Britney attended.

We were on the road at 6am and arrived in Baton Rouge around 10:15am. We had lots of time to spare so we took a SMALL road trip to Kentwood, just to see the very small town that Britney grew up in. Small is not the word to describe Kentwood, it's more like TINY! We drove around for a bit, saw the "HOME OF OUR BRITNEY SPEARS" sign on the hardware store.

Around 11:15 we get back on the highway to make our way back to Summit Hospital. We arrive at about 12:15, there was already a long line of about 100 people waiting to get in. The Rally people checked ID's before you could even get into the parking lot, you had to be on the list to get in.

Around 12:30 they started to let everyone into the tent that was set up outside of the hospital. There was a stage set up with a podium and barricades in front. We were there for the Rally, but you would have thought that it was a freakin' Britney concert, everyone went straight to claim their spot in front of the stage.

At about 12:45 a staff member announced that the stage program wouldn't begin for about 45 minutes and that we should all go and check out all of the booths. A few people moved, but most everyone stayed put. We weren't losing our spots in front of the stage.

The booths were handing out info. on cancer and cancer awareness. They were also handing out cereal bars and water. The Britney Spears Foundation had set up a booth that was handing out Foundation Stickers, autographed (pre-printed) Britney promo. photos and BS Foundation pens. The pens are AWESOME, I took 3 of them!

Around 1:15 you could see the police escort coming from the hospital, which was only about 30 feet away from the tent. The drove the tan Suburban around back. It took about 15 minutes before anyone actually came on stage, but the anticipation was pretty high! (on a side note, the girl in the car with Brit while at the In-n-Out Burger drive through was also there standing with Fe during the presentation. I'm not sure who she is, but she was there.)
It was finally time.

At about 1:30 all the speakers hit the stage. The first to speak and welcome everyone was David van der Water (President/CEO of Ardent Health Services) he had to ask the crowd to please be quiet a few times so he could speak. Everyone was pretty excited to see Britney. The next to speak was Robert Elliott, MD (surgical doctor for the hospital), I don't really remember what he said, but basically the same as before. Then was Ken Melkus' (Ardent Health Services Board Member) turn to speak, he was the lucky one to introduce Britney. He basically gave Britney mad props. Went on about what she has accomplished in and out of the media spot light. Her career achievements and her philanthropic achievements. Ken then introduced Jamie Lynn, he started it out by announcing that HOT off the PRESS she was just named a CHEERLEADER for her school. Jamie Lynn was so shy. Then Ken went on to talk about JL's success on ALL THAT and that she will one day follow in her sisters footsteps and be as BIG a star. He then introduced Lynne and Jamie and mentioned that Bryan was also there. He ended by saying that he hopes to be so much closer to the Spears' in the future, since his daughter Lauren is engaged to Bryan. Everyone cheered. (So for anyone that was wondering why of all the hospitals in LA Britney picked that one, I have a feeling he had something to do with it!)
Ken then brought Britney up to the podium. It really wasn't anything big. Brit basically thanked everyone for being there and supporting the cause. She said she hopes to make it a priority to get the word out about Cancer treatment and detection, it's "In her Heart" and it hits close to home. It was at most a 1-2 minute speech.

After Britney Lynne came to the podium and basically reiterated what Britney said. Talked about her sister Sandra for a second and that everyone needed to support cancer awareness to find it before it get fatal. Again, Lynne only spoke for about 30 seconds.

Following Lynne David came back and said they would take a few questions from the media that were there.
They only took about 3 or 4 questions and then whisked Britney and the family backstage where the media frenzy continued for about an hour.
Hanna, the girl that went with me, and I stayed in the tent to see if by chance Britney came out to see any fans. Most of the other fans had headed out to the parking area where Britney would be leaving in her Suburban. While we were waiting I saw Big Rob and I yelled his name, he looked over at me and I asked if he would come and take a picture. He was like sure. As he was making his way over to me a few people were like "WHO IS THAT?" And in my sarcastic way I was like "EVERYONE KNOWS BIG ROB", even the Miss Teen Baton Rouge, asked in her snobbish way. I then had to inform everyone that he was a Britney Bodyguard. I didn't say this out loud but I was thinking how could anyone call themselves a Britney fan and not know Big Rob?

But whatever.

When Rob finally made his way to me he asked how were were doing and I told him we were great. He was so nice and so BIG! I felt think standing next to him. He should stand around me more often! Hanna took the picture, which I hope turns out since the flash for some reason didn't go off, I guess I'll just have to wait and see when I get the pics developed tomorrow.
While were waiting, which we did A LOT of yesterday, Fe came out of the tent with a volunteer. She walked over to the Britney Spears Foundation booth, as she walked out I said hello and she smiled and said hello back. As she was walking back from the booth I stopped her and asked if I could take a picture with her. Fe is too funny. She said sure, but let me tell you this won't even get you a quarter around here, I'm nobody. I was laughing and said that is so not true. Your Fe, everyone knows Felicia. She laughed. We talked for a second and Hanna took the picture, again I hope it comes out, the flash didn't go off again. I told her we had come in from Houston and she said wow, what a trip. I told her to make sure to tell Britney her biggest fans from Houston said hi and she smiled and said OK.

Fe is absolutely the sweetest, so nice and friendly.

After getting the picture taken with FE, I called Christi back and we were talking and all of a sudden we see Britney exiting the backstage area. There were only about 10 people around. There was a little girl that she stopped for first, the girl is in the pictures on WIREIMAGE. Britney kneeled down and talked to her for a second and signed something. Hanna was next and Britney saw her said Oh my gosh, you are so cute and signed her BRITNEY CD Booklet. I was on the phone with Christi during this time and I couldn't pass up my chance to talk to Britney while she was there. I said Hi Britney, we drove all the way from Houston to see you today. And in her sweet giggly voice she said, "Aww, thanks, you're so sweet." Then I was like would you please say "Hi Christi" she's on my phone. And Britney said, you guessed it, "Hi Christi" I was so afraid that C-dawg didn't hear her, so I got on the phone and said, did you hear that, did you hear that. Christi was pretty excited.

Britney then proceeded to walk over to the table that the Foundation was set up at and said hello to the volunteers that were there. I was standing pretty far back, so I'm not sure if she signed anything else. After saying hi they rushed her back to the backstage area. I was still on the phone with Christi, we were still freaking out that we talked to Britney and that she said hi to Christi.

Britney then got in the Suburban that Big Rob drove, her dad was in a white Cadillac Escalade pick up truck and her mom was in a white Toyota 4-Runner.

The police escorts, escorted the caravan to the main road and they were off. I still wonder how many people followed them?

All in all it looked as if the day was going to be un-eventful, but it turned out to be so worth it, especially to Hanna who got Brit's autograph and we were able to see her from about not even a foot away.

Britney is even more beautiful in person and she is so tiny. I must admit that we hear so many negative things about Brit and her fans, but she was nothing but NICE on Sunday. I was really impressed with her and her entourage, everyone is just as sweet as can be.

Britney Might Not Be Die Hard 4
Britney might, or might not be staring in Die Hard 4 after all.

On the weekend edition of Extra that aired Sunday, Bruce Willis was interviewed about his new movie "Tears of the Sun". When asked about Britney staring in the next Die Hard as his daughter Bruce looked a little uneasy and, after a couple seconds of hesitation, said "I don't think so. There isn't even a script yet, so I was as surprised as you to hear that."

Something tells me Bruce was told by Fox Pictures about Britney being signed, and he's just trying to keep that quiet. The fact that he said there wasn't a script yet simply is not true, given that Fox has officially scheduled Die Hard 4: Die Hardest to start filming mid year for a release around Christmas. There is most certainly at least a final rough draft.

Word is, despite what Bruce has said, Fox has already signed Britney on for the movie. You can see a small clip of the interview on Extras official web site, however the Britney comments were edited out of the web clip.
