Britney's Rep Ask Club To Pay-up |

Pop diva Britney Spears's entourage stunned management at Miami nightclub Mynt last Sunday by demanding they pay her to visit the venue.
The singer, 22, and her pals had planned to spend the evening partying in the trendy nightspot following her live Showtime concert.
But when her staff tried to get Mynt's management to pay $2,000 for her presence, they were swiftly rebuffed.
One stunned club boss says, "We would have been happy to have Britney at the club Sunday evening, and we would have arranged a table and bottle service for her and her guests.
"However, we were uncomfortable with the request for payment. It is not our policy to pay celebrities to come to Mynt as it seems to have become the norm with other Miami nightclubs. We do not even think Britney knows what happened."
Spears and her posse of dancers ended up at Prive, the same nightclub that J-lo and Marc Anthony were spotted snuggling at last week, where they partied until 4:30am. |

Eamon has been confirmed as the opening act for the first two weeks of Britney Spears’s next North American tour, beginning June 22 in Hartford, Connecticut. The rapper, known for his single “F--- It (I Don't Want You Back)” says that he’s excited to tour with Britney.
“Me and Britney aren’t really the same type of artist, but I’m a fan of hers,” he said. “I think she’s cool and really talented. But she does her thing and I do mine, and I’m excited to do it for people, and I hope they like it.”
Even though him and Britney ain’t the same kind of artist, they ought to complement each other nicely, Eamon’s profanity riddled R & B songs prepping the crowd for Britney’s increasingly naughty onstage exhibitions.

Britney to China? |

Chinese promoters are talking with Britney Spears' managers about her performing in China later this year, a promoter said Wednesday.
China's Culture Ministry has yet to approve Spears' appearances, said Wang Enqiang, an agent for Beijing Poly Culture and Art Co. Ltd.. "If approved, it would be one of the top performers ever to appear in China," Wang told The Associated Press. He wouldn't give other details pending ministry approval.
There was no immediate comment on the talks from the singer, who's touring North America to back her latest album, "In The Zone." With more than 54 million records sold worldwide, Spears would be one of the biggest international pop stars to play here since the communist state's establishment in 1949.
Rising incomes and relaxed social and economic strictures have fed an appetite for foreign performances, though many concerts here are believed to lose money.
Pop songstress Mariah Carey became one of the biggest stars to play China with a pair of concerts in Shanghai last November. Aging British hard rockers Deep Purple were scheduled to play Beijing and Shanghai this week.
The Rolling Stones were slated to play Shanghai and Beijing last year, but the shows were canceled amid the regional outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS.
Wang said members of Spears' production team planned to visit China in mid-April for more talks.

The interivew didn't even exactly say if they had sex or not, Tom just hinted to the fact that they did. |

Anyone who thinks that mainstream pop is over and that Britney Spears’ time in the spotlight is through should think again. The bouncy blonde pop star will be playing to packed houses in Montreal and Toronto later this week and, due to popular demand, she’ll bring her Onyx Hotel Tour back to Toronto on its second North American leg this June.
The Onyx Hotel show, once again, is an all-Britney extravaganza with a set that revolves around a mysterious onyx stone that makes Britney’s fantasies come to life. As the press material reads, "wondrous dreams are realized and the darkest of secrets are revealed." And Miss Britney says that she doesn’t go out of her way to be provocative…
Brit’s new Toronto show will take place on June 27 at the Molson Amphitheatre. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (April 2) at noon through all Ticketmaster outlets. They’ll cost you $69.50 or $98.50 for reserved seating or $35.50 for lawn seats. While no opening act has been specifically announced for the Toronto show, according to Spears’ website, rapper Eamon is scheduled to do the bulk of the summer tour.
In the meantime, Spears will play Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on April 3 and Montreal’s Bell Centre on April 4. Check local listings for ticket information.

Britney has said numerous times that she hold sex in a higher standard and will not "put out" unless he is the man she would be with for the rest of her life, I.E. Justin Timberlake. |

R-rated Britney Drawing Older Fans |
|
|

|
Britney Spears' fan base has aged faster than she has. Only four years ago, she was 18 and it seemed like most of her fans were 12-year-old girls baring their bellies and singing "I'm not! that! innocent!" and worrying their parents half to death.
The fans turning out for her current concert tour are closer to her own age -- college-age women full of girls-night-out high spirits. There were a few parents (who apparently didn't get the memo) clutching young girls at Spears' recent stop at Philips Arena, but the days when little Britney wannabes were the primary audience at a Spears show are long gone. She's morphed from the early "Jailbait? Who, me?" double messages to a sex-sells saleswoman with no apologies.
"There's definitely a lot more sex, and more mature women can relate to that," said Sarah Smith, a communications major from Auburn University.
Philips was a whooping, hollering, girl-powered array of does-your-mama-know outfits, some of which out-Britneyed Britney: denim skirts shorter than an MTV addict's attention span, halters, spangled tube tops, plaid schoolgirl skirts, skintight pants, T-shirts with printed messages like "I Do Anything," "Barely Legal" and "Boy Toy," the latter a somewhat dated nod to Madonna, the template from whom Spears has molded her persona.
"Oh my God, I should have dressed more risquŽ," said one fan, surveying the scene.
They came not to experience fine musical craftsmanship, but to see a big, glitzy, oversexed spectacle -- a Las Vegas revue without the taste and restraint.
"Take it off!" shouted Taylor Minchey, 21, a waitress at Outback Steakhouse in Suwanee, Ga., hanging in the smokers' area before Spears took the stage. "You know she's gonna take it all off eventually. They said this was X-rated, and we're here to see an X-rated show!"
Spears show, dubbed the Onyx Hotel Tour, isn't really X-rated, but there's one section toward the end that's pretty close to an R. At one point Spears, in pink bra and panty set, stockings and high heels, French-kissed a male dancer clad only in tighty-whitey Jockey shorts, giving him a lot more than she gave Madonna. The crowd reacted like a bachelorette party when the beefcake stripper shows up.
(It's not clear exactly what the Onyx Hotel is; apparently it's a place where the casts of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," Cirque du Soleil and "Cabaret" all hang out and swap costumes and booty-dance with each other.)
"She can't sing for [expletive]," said Kelley Heinsman, 20, an economics major at Emory University. "But her dancing is awesome."
No one seemed to care that Spears lip syncs nearly the whole show; "it's her she's lip-syncing to," said 22-year-old Brandon Warren. When her microphone went live occasionally between numbers, you could hear her puffing from the strenuous choreography, but never during the singing.
Only a portion of Spears' concert deals in the sexual explicitness that has gotten so much attention. She does strip down to a flesh-colored bodysuit and caress herself while singing "Touch of My Hand," her song about masturbation. She and her dancers do a lot of pelvic thrusting, and it's those moments that a few outraged parents were venting about on the radio Wednesday; apparently they expected that demure, saintlike Britney who's been in the news so much lately.
But most of the show isn't about sex, it's about Pure Pop Product, like Spears herself. There were seven costume changes in 90 minutes, shooting flames two stories high, even taller columns of pulsating lights, lots of video monitors, and gobs of extreme choreography, some of which looked like everyone on stage had just sat in a mound of fire ants while consuming a powerful aphrodisiac.
What was lacking was any sense of personality; any connection between Spears and the audience was supplied by the audience. Spears has always trafficked in the flawlessness of her physical image -- she is to music what Anna Kournikova is to tennis -- and the symbiosis between her, the media and her fans is like the whole youth culture, distilled to its essence.
She's our national Barbie doll -- a best-seller, an icon, and utterly plastic.

Truth be told, the tabloid magazine, The Star, recently published an article saying that Jason Alexander is sueing Britney for money after the quick marriage in Las Vegas. However, this story has no merit to it at all. A lawsuit has not been filed yet. An exert from the article include: 'An insider claimed, "He's trying to sue her for some profits from the [Onyx Hotel] tour." The source says that though the pair "were trying to be friends", Jason has suddenly gone on the offensive. "He's really trying to stick it to her in terms of lawyers and money. It's been truly awful that he's now doing this," a source close to Britney revealed.' |

"Everytime" Music Video Revealed |

b0rntoplay at our Britney forums at Efanguide.com has revealed the plot to the music video. He did received this information from US Weekly, however he didn't buy the magazine so it isn't directly from the magazine, but he says it is accurate.
1. The freaks and midgets all play the role of the paprazzi. Their job is to "swarm" her and her boyfriend (Stephen Dorf) and create chaos. As they try to get into the hotel, the paparzzi creates a frenzy by going after them.
2. Once in the hotel, the storyline picks up with the fight between her and her bf and with her going into the bathroom (like the MTV article said). Here is where the story changes. It is still a bit like the suicide story, in the sense that Britney dies in the tub, but rather, it is depicted as an accidental death. I dont know how they do it, but thats what the article said.
3. As for the surprise ending, here it is. At the end, they rush Britney to the hositpal to try and revive her. However, it does not work and Britney dies. You then see her spirit leave her body and walk into another room. A second later, a newborn baby and the baby's mother comes out of the same room. So although Britney as we know her is gone, her spirit still lives on. As one life ends, one begins. Britney is reborn.

Britney's knee was injured during the concert not her ankle as previously stated. It is unknown which knee is injured, it could be something small or something big because she did have surgery done on her left knee during the "Sometimes" video shoot. If it is the same knee, major injuries could occur from the repaired ligament over 4 years ago. Lets all hope and pray that it is not serious. Some people have already stated that they believe this is just an act. My question is...why would she fake an injury? |

Breaking news here, tonight's Britney concert in Chicago at the Allstate Arena has been canceled. I repeat, the concert is canceled. However, DO NOT throw away your tickets, keep them. The concert will be rescheduled. As of right now, the rescheduled date is unknown but a representative from Jive Records as told me that a rescheduled date will be released soon, it will be sometime in April. Some reports say that a new date will be given out at 4pm. Ticketmaster has this to say:
Tonight's Britney Spears performance has been canceled. Please hold all tickets! There will be no refunds at this time. The event will possibly be rescheduled.
This all came about when last night at the Moline concert. She was performing "I Got That Boom Boom" while she hurt her leg. She finished the song and left the stage with the help of her dancers. She came back on stage after awhile limping and told the fans thats he couldnt finish the last song since she hurt her leg.
Update I just called Larry Rudolph for more information, the representative for his office on matters concerning this wasn't able to pick up the phone so I did leave a message to call back. Right now everyone is saying that the concert will be rescheduled in April or if you would like your money back, a full refund will be given.
Update - 3:14pm central An official statement from Britney's record company, Jive Records, says, "Due to an unfortunate knee injury Britney Spears suffered towards the end of her show last night in Moline, IL, she will not be performing tonight at the Allstate Arena as scheduled. Please hold on to your tickets until further notice later today." A spokesperson says the Onyx Hotel Tour is expected to resume as scheduled on Sunday in Detroit, Michigan. |

After her March 6th show in Las Vegas, the singer went to a party at Studio 54, and a witness told Us Weekly: "All she drank was Red Bull and water. She said she had to stay sharp for a photo shoot in the morning." Her choreographer Brian Friedman echoed: "She never goes out. Her priority is making sure her new show is her best yet." She finished the song and left the stage with the help of her dancers. She came back on stage after awhile limping and told the fans thats he couldnt finish the last song since she hurt her leg. So I dont know what this means for the Chicago concert today... as of right now the concert is still scheduled, but I will find out tomorrow to see what is going on.
Update - 1:33pm central Riff1324 just told me that Britney sprained her ankle, however, Britney's personal trainer is helping her out. As for the concert tomorrow, its still scheduled but Riff1324 tells me that she will cut back on some dance routines. |

According to her own song lyrics, she's not that innocent, but some Omaha moms were still surprised to read about the latest Britney Spears tour.
Tracy Neidig and Lisa Kruntorad bought tickets for Spears' concert Wednesday at the Qwest Center Omaha. They said they thought it would be fun to take their 8-year-old daughters to see a performer the girls have liked since they were preschoolers.
"Some of her antics lately have been a little questionable, but we were hoping for something along the line of a PG-type show," Kruntorad told television station KETV.
Then the moms read Sunday's paper previewing the concert: "an R-rated raunchfest with simulated sex and other risque stage antics," it said. The moms decided this concert may not be appropriate for the girls.
"I mean, you have a vision of what a raunchfest is," said Kruntorad. "Oh my goodness!"
The girls are disappointed and the families may be stuck with their nonrefundable tickets. The show is not sold out, so hopes to sell the tickets for face value are fading in Neidig's and Kruntorad's minds.
Qwest Center sales and marketing director said he's discussing the possibility of rating concerts like movies with some concert promoters.
So far results of an online survey of 10755 votes, 85% vote yes for concerts and other live events have ratings similar to movies and video games. Another 11% say no, while 3% say that they are not sure. This survey is not official or is it exact. |

Male Only Britney Look Alike Contest |

Cameron Kepford of Davenport already had front-row tickets to Thursday night’s Britney Spears concert at The Mark of the Quad-Cities.
But after competing in a male-only Britney “look-alike” contest sponsored Tuesday by radio station WHTS-FM (98.9), he now has two more and will be able to sit in a new and very comfortable spot: “Britney’s Lounge,” a sofa that will be situated near the sound mixer and give him a great view of the show.
Kepford, 16, a junior at Davenport West High School, donned a long blonde wig and a hot-pink bikini top and thong (that he wore over his skin-tight jeans) to dance and sing his way to the tickets. Now, he said, “My 4-year-old niece will get the front-seat tickets. She loves Britney.”
Tony Waitekus, the program director for the radio station, said he was approached by Jive Records to come up with a contest for seats in Britney’s Lounge.
“We looked on the Internet and saw what the other radio stations were doing,” he said. “But we wanted something new, attention-getting and different.”
He got it in the form of a look-alike contest for guys.
Nine brave contestants showed up out of the 17 who registered. They appeared in all kinds of outfits normally associated with the long-haired young pop singer. One even came dressed in a plaid miniskirt and knee-high socks.
“A lot of guys love Britney Spears,” Waitekus said. “She’s pleasant to the eye.”
Also winning tickets was Jack Kloppenberg of Dixon, Iowa. Dressed in a black midriff-baring ensemble, along with a blonde wig, he and friend Dan Coffman of Eldridge, Iowa, competed for a share of the tickets.
Kloppenberg won. And he was not shy at all.
“I’m in theater,” the 16-year-old North Scott High School senior said. “I’m used to dressing up as something.”
Among the judges was Jim Mertens, a news anchor at WQAD-TV.
“I thought they were all winners,” Mertens said as he waited for the results to be announced. Then with a laugh, he added, “It was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. They performed and I blushed.”
Also judging was Vince Vitale of KLJB-TV. “Have you ever seen so many timid guys in dresses before?” he said.

Britney Spears isn't going to kill herself in her next video after all — she's killing the suicide concept.
According to a treatment MTV News obtained for Spears' "Everytime" video, the singer was going to appear to have taken pills and drowned in a bathtub. Camera tricks and surprise plot developments were designed to keep the results somewhat mysterious. But Spears has decided against using those scenes — which she maintains were meant to depict accidental death, not suicide — and has revised the concept for the clip accordingly.
"Britney Spears was uncomfortable with these treatments due to the potential for a fictional accidental occurrence to be misinterpreted as a suicide," read a statement released by her label on Friday (March 12). "Ms. Spears revised the treatment to ensure the video for 'Everytime' will not have a scene in it that could in any way be perceived as a reference to a suicide."
After news of the video's concept broke, Spears was criticized by those who perceived it to be a glamorization of suicide. MTV News' You Tell Us received numerous letters from upset people like 24-year-old Fey of Beverly Hills, California, who wrote: "Leave it to Britney to exploit suicide. ... I lost a brother to suicide and am disgusted with her. Killing yourself is not glamorous, it won't set you free, and it will destroy everyone who loves you."
"Britney Spears' video 'Everytime' should not be shown," 18-year-old Amber of Wataga, Illinois, wrote. "Suicide occurs at an alarming rate, and this video seems to glorify it. ... I have lost a friend to suicide, and the concept of this video disgusts me."
The singer's label said it was not her intent to present suicide in any sort of positive light and that she hopes people who are considering suicide seek help. "[Spears] does not endorse [suicide] as a solution to any individual and fully recognizes that people who go to this length need assistance and advice and should contact their local suicide prevention organization," the statement read.
The shoot for "Everytime" is scheduled for this weekend in Los Angeles.

New Music Video Recieves Controversy |

Britney's new music video is already receiving much controversy and it hasn't even been made yet. Britney's third single off her forth album, "In The Zone," will be "Everytime." The storyline for the unmade video will have Britney protraying taking her own life. Britney is in the bathroom as it flashes to a shot of water trickling around the cracks of the tile and the bath overflowing. The boyfriend rushes in the bathroom after he sees the opened bottle of unknown pills on the ledge. A mental health charity and a children's group have condemned the video which will be directed by David LaChapelle. Michelle Elliot, director of parents' group Kidscape, said: "This is absolutely outrageous, totally irresponsible, completely stupid." Marjorie Wallace, of mental health charity SANE, added: "It's profoundly irresponsible to show anything that hints that you can take your own life. I know how influential pop videos can be."
The Sun, a UK online tabloid, says the script sees Britney and her boyfriend battling their way to a hotel room through crowds of paparazzi. The couple then fight and he, the boyfriend, smashes a wine bottle at her feet. On the ledge stands a bottle of pills with the cap removed. When her boyfriend realises what is happening he rushes to help her but is too late to save her.
However, according to an article by MTV, we do not know if Britney died or not, "is Britney alive? Dead? A ghost? Did she kill herself off before the tabloids could? Did she kill herself so that she could be reborn? The final shot — which shouldn't be revealed here so as not to spoil the surprise — doesn't answer any of these questions, but should give fans plenty to talk about." |

As reported on eonline:
This All-Access Profile Pops Open the Not That Innocent Megastar's Life
Watch the new E! special Britney Spears Premieres: March 14, 8 p.m. Encores: March 14, 11 p.m.; March 17, 8 p.m.
As a kid with breakout talent, young Britney Spears found plenty of ways out of her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. But she kept coming back--after her stint in an off-Broadway show called Ruthless, after the Star Search she didn't quite win, after The Mickey Mouse Club was canceled...
But now, the unparalleled pop icon can go pretty much anywhere she pleases--and this time, she's taking E! along for the ride! In an intimate two-hour special, Britney Spears, premiering Sun., March 14, at 8 p.m., E! brings you Britney's entire journey--the inside story of her life, then and now. And we've got exclusive interviews with Spears, her mother and her friends, which reveal how Brit is surviving and thriving as a superstar.
To get from Kentwood to Hollywood and beyond, Spears had to aim high and stay focused. E! highlights those moments that made the difference, how she decided not to join a girl group, how she snagged the song "...Baby One More Time" (it was supposed to go to TLC) and how she toured with rising boy band 'N Sync.
This crowd-pleasing E! special also looks at how Spears' unflinching sexual posturing, even as a teenager, shocked parents, gained her respect with fellow teens and, eventually, wooed sponsors.
We catch Britney in rare form on a promotional tour through Japan and talk to her about a life led in the public eye. From one public dustup to the next, we cover the controversies: the snake dance, the Madonna kiss, her Justin heartache and her 30-second nuptials.
We've got the best tickets to the show, so make sure you tune to E! Sun., March 14, at 8 p.m.

TRL offered a behind the scenes peek at Britney's Onyx Hotel Tour today on MTV. In the short segment, Britney invited VJ Quddus into her tour bus. So what's in Britney's bus? Lots of DVD's, including "Notting Hill", "Pretty Woman", or basically "anything with Julia Roberts", as she put it. Also included in here DVD collection was "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "The Sopranos". So what keeps Britney's immaculate golden tan? Her built in tanning bed. In addition, her bus contains a small private bathroom adjoined to her own bedroom on the bus. There was even her favorite accessory, a small angel doll near the sink of her bathroom. When Quddus asked the three things she can't live without on tour, she replied "My journal...I just like to reflect on the day. My candles. And my PJ's." The segment also offered a few clips from The Onyx Hotel show, including her raunchy moves while performing "Breathe On Me". TRL will be checking in her again next week in another behind the scenes look at Britney's Tour. |

The Onyx Hotel: Oakland Show Review |
|

Luggage carts, luxurious velvety beds, a swing suspended hundreds of feet above the air and a mossy, flower-laden piano—all on one stage. There is only one place you could have found all of these things—The Onyx Hotel Tour last night at the Oakland Arena. As extravagant as the props were, none were to overshadow the Princess of Pop herself, Britney. However, last night's show if anything, has shown her growth as an artist while still endearing the qualities that made us all fall in love with her in the first place.
Opening acts Skye Sweetnam and Kelis were rather incongruous and understated compared to what was coming. It seemed a rather odd choice as both artists, especially the pre-pubescent, sexed-up-Avril-Lavigne-esque Skye Sweetnam, would not be artists you would peg as Britney fans. While both artists made it fairly smoothly through their short sets, you could feel the impatience of the crowd growing as they awaited who they had come to see.
Before Britney took the stage, you could spot Britney's dancers, in oddly dressed outfits, asking audience members on the floor where The Onyx Hotel was. A nice, interactive, added touch to the show.
The audience was homogenous in the sense it that it was primarily made up of girls ages 13-17 (all wearing those short frilly skirts and Britney-esque poorboy caps, I may add). However, second to the young girls, there were many young couples who brought their young children. This proved to be problematic during a couple of Britney’s songs…but we’ll get there in a second.
Britney opened with the high energy “Toxic” wearing a tight black catsuit. This proved to be the most clothing she would wear all night. The major prop used in this set of three or so songs from the new album were these enormous luggage carts which she would roll across back and forth across the stage with.
The second set of songs were all oldies but goodies. It was introduced by a clip on the big screen (with a guest appearance by Jada Pinkett Smith) in a matrix-like opening of a brick wall, only to reveal an old jazz club stage up on stage. She started with “Baby One More Time”, which was the same version sang in the ABC special late last year, employing a cabaret theme. However, it was a nice return back to the basics with “Oops..” and “Crazy”. In “Boys” she employed a nice mixture of the Neptunes Remix and then a later revert to the original included on the album.
The most elaborate and impressive set of the night was “Shadow” in which she became suspended up on a swing hundreds of feet in the air and had Cirque de Soleil stunts occurring around her with the twisting and turning of acrobats from long draping pieces of cloth. Amazing! The set was gorgeous and it was truly beautiful watching Britney up on the swing singing her heart out with so much passion.
In “Everytime” she gave a heartwarming speech about her hard year and being okay with herself at the end of the day. It was indiscernible whether it was tears or sweat streaming down her face, but she looked very earnest. She started off playing the piano, but in the middle got up and performed to the audience down on her knees. The performance ended with a dancer dressed up as an angel taking him into her arms and literally “under her wings”.
The mood of the show changed rapidly in the next segment. “Breathe on Me” and “Touch of My Hand” were marked by masturbating, gyrations, and Britney dressed up in...well not much. It seemed to be reminiscent of the Madonna Blonde Ambition tour in the mid nineties with engaging in sexual acts...with underwear on. People in the audience who had brought their young kids could be seen leaving during this part (and you have to wonder why they brought them in the first place!). Britney had a full on make-out session with one of her dancers for a good 30 seconds. You could tell a lot of people were shocked...but how shocked could they really have been? If anyone had turned on the TV in the last year, they know that she is exploring her...well sexuality. And very actively at that.
The last portion of the show ended with “The Hook Up” and “I’ve Got That Boom Boom” with some more high energy dance moves. The show finale ended with “Me Against the Music”, again a great combination of the remix and original.
Overall, the show was an AMAZING experience. I was once again reminded the way Ms. Spears can completely command an audiences attention. It was sexy, provocative, but still savvy to her vulnerability and realness as a human being. The stage and set was phenomenal, with lights, costuming and special effects, again none to be overshadowed by Britney herself. I left the concert feeling exhilarated (and a little bid giddy) and wanting more (which is why I’m going again in July)!! It was such a diverse show and really took you through a myriad of emotions and sensations. Props Britney, for once again raising the bar!

Britney Commits Suicide In New Video |

MTV reported that Britney Spears is getting into that "Leaving Las Vegas" frame of mind.
The singer is going to stage her suicide in her new video for "Everytime," as a way to respond to rumors and reports that she's teetering on the brink, seeking help, in therapy or otherwise disturbed. Call the clip Britney's funhouse mirror — it'll reflect her life, but distort it, too.
Spears' follow-up to "Toxic" — her first #1 single since 2000's "Oops! ... I Did it Again" — will be shot in Los Angeles but set in Sin City, home of her quickie marriage. Though "Everytime" is a plea for forgiveness for inadvertently hurting a former lover, that aspect isn't addressed as much as the song's tone of regret and loss.
Directed by David LaChapelle, the video will use "saturated, but low and naturalistic lighting" to give a cinematic feel, taking a cue from the 1995 Nicolas Cage film "Leaving Las Vegas." According to the clip's treatment, Spears arrives at the supposedly secret but paparazzi-swarmed back alley of an exclusive hotel, boyfriend in tow. Though it's common for the singer to be mobbed by the press, this time, people go to extremes, exaggerating the chaos as her bodyguards try to protect her and fights break out.
The camera cuts back and forth from the action to find Spears in an extreme close-up, performing directly to the camera as the story unfolds around her. She and her date are shuttled into the hotel, having been roughed up a bit, and exchange a look expressing that what was supposed to be a vacation is no fun for either of them. They end up in the high-rollers suite, but it doesn't help calm them down. Spears tries to put her angry boyfriend at ease, pouring two glasses of wine from the gift basket, but he lashes out, smashing the bottle at her feet.
Spears then gets quiet and walks away, heading to the bathroom, where the camera angles start to add a bit of mystery. A hand lays down a glass of red wine, water trickles around the cracks of tile, the bathtub overflows, and on the ledge stands a bottle of pills, the cap removed. Spears' head slips under water, and only then does her boyfriend, who had been watching television, start to notice. As he tries to revive her, the camera tracks a new Britney, alive and unharmed, walking past him, out of the room and out of the hotel. The paparazzi, still swarming at the back entrance, don't seem to register this Britney, and she disappears into the night.
Ambiguity is all that remains — is Britney alive? Dead? A ghost? Did she kill herself off before the tabloids could? Did she kill herself so that she could be reborn? The final shot — which shouldn't be revealed here so as not to spoil the surprise — doesn't answer any of these questions, but should give fans plenty to talk about. |

Kylie Minogue has insisted she would never say a bad word about her fellow pop divas.
Last week the Aussie singer reportedly called herself “bigger than Beyonce” and criticised the raunchy videos of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
But her spokesman said today: “Kylie would like to clarify that she has never criticised Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce – or, in fact, any of her contemporaries – and wishes each artist the very best.
“Kylie is a fan of these artists and would never criticise them. She has never been in the habit of criticising fellow artists, as anyone who has ever met her would know.
“It’s upsetting for her that people would make such false claims, hurting not only Kylie but other artists as well.”
Britney won the battle of the pop princesses at the weekend when she topped the UK charts with her single Toxic, her first number one in four years.
Kylie’s Red Blooded Woman only made it to number five, behind DJ Casper, Peter Andre and George Michael.

An unknown songwriter who posted a song he wrote about Britney Spears on the internet was surprised when the star heard the tune and invited him to a concert.
Britney's choreographer Brian Friedman introduced the popstar to the song, Rock Me, Britney that Johnnie Mazzer posted for free at www.rockmebritney.com.
The lyrics include: "Some say she's over, some say she's done, but baby, baby, baby, she's only just begun!"
When Britney heard about Mazzer's tribute she telephoned him on his mobile number and invited him to see her in concert on her current Onyx Hotel Tour.
Mazzer told the New York Post: "I was driving in Los Angeles and almost wrecked the car when I picked up the phone."

As the lights went down at Britney Spears' Onyx Hotel tour, a ring leader--looking like the love child of the Wizard of Oz and Boy George--promised the audience members that "your body will be privy to many a titillation."
Spears left little to the imagination, strutting around the stage in bra and panties for her self-fulfillment song "Touch of My Hand." She writhed in a glass bathtub of rose petals and confetti, touching herself, as dancers did the same a level below her. The raunchy show clearly stunned the several parents who were seen leaving.
The show started innocently enough--as innocent as Spears gets--with the pop tart dressed in a black leather outfit, riding atop a moving platform that resembled a trolley. She and her band ripped through a super-charged rendition of "Toxic," then went straight into "Overprotected" before Spears took the time to acknowledge the crowd.
"So it feels really good to be back. Are you guys having fun so far? Let's kick it," she said.
Spears "kicked" into "Boys," during which her dancers pushed her and each other using luggage carts, banking on the hotel theme.
What followed were unfortunate, cabaret-lounge-meets-the-Pussycat-Dolls' versions of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and "Crazy," during which Spears traveled the length of the stage singing into a microphone with a bullwhip on the end of it. Less sexy than the Pussycat Dolls, though, were Spears' garter belts, which, instead of being the real deal, appeared to be printed onto her tights.
Speaking of "Crazy," Spears twice acknowledged her hectic couple of months.
"There's a lot of cute fellas in the audience tonight. Don't you agree? Are you feeling lucky? Who knows; if you're lucky, I might marry you," she said with a quick, uncomfortable giggle.
Soon thereafter, she again mentioned her quickie wedding to high-school friend Jason Alexander. As she sat down at a flower-covered piano for the song "Everytime," she agreed that "the past six months have been like a roller coaster. There's been a lot of ups and there's been a lot of downs."
However, "at the end of the day, it's mainly who I am right now" that matters. "Everything we experience makes us realize how beautiful life really is."

Jessica, Britney May 'Duke' It Out Over Short Shorts |

Britney Spears had better watch out — Jessica Simpson might just steal her Daisy Dukes right out from under her. Both have been said to be interested in the role of Bo and Luke Duke's hottest cousin, but the "Newlyweds" star is emerging as the favorite.
Simpson had previously expressed interest in filling Barbara Eden's harem pants in an upcoming "I Dream of Jeannie" movie, but that project has stalled as it looks for a director. So now Simpson is seeing if she can squeeze into Catherine Bach's hot pants in the movie remake of another classic television series, "The Dukes of Hazzard." Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker are currently favorites to play Bo and Luke Duke.
"I would love to be Daisy Duke," Simpson said. "I think that would be so much fun, just to wear the shorts. I would get to have my own car. I think it would be a blast."
Simpson recently met with producer Bill Gerber to discuss taking a part in the TV show adaptation, which, like the CBS show that aired from 1979 to 1985, would focus on the adventures of two Southern cousins who race around Hazzard County in an orange Charger named the General Lee. Gerber sang the singer's praises when he described the meeting to People magazine, saying Simpson is "young, moral, bright, gorgeous and Southern — everything that Daisy is."

From Justin to Madonna, this girl is still touring with sizzle-
Britney, Britney Britney… Spears her critics right between the eyes Tuesday, with the opening of her Onyx Hotel Tour, which opened on my home turf, San Diego California. From the crazy traffic, to the insane press and media everywhere, you knew the pop princess was on her way in. And that's even before you got to the stage, which was alight with bathtubs, beds, gyrating men and women, and one pink bra wearing temptress. There were also lights, videos, and an a la mode of sexy talk. In her new single Me Against The Music, which also features her idolized mentor Madonna, she has been praised for intuitive use of rhythm, and her visible growth creatively. While many critics question her newly emphasized loose use of sexuality, both in her videos, and onstage, many can also say she is coming into her own. She’s gone from Mousketeer to Teen sensation, to burgeoning young talent. In the news recently for her quickly annulled, joke-gone wrong nuptials to Jason Alexander (no, not the funny as heck Seinfeld side-kick who is now touring Broadway and Hollywood, but rather the hometown-wouldn’t notice him in a crowd side-kick who is now touring the tabloids). Tuesday night, after an exhaustingly lip-synched number, she gave a shout out to all the young boys, saying, “Who knows? Maybe if you're really lucky, I might marry you."
I have to admit, when my daughter begged to see her, I wasn’t thrilled. With lyrics like “I’m a slave, for you”, put to the video clips of men circling the sweating, sensual antics of Miss B, I wondered whether I should even be encouraging my daughter’s latest form of “self-expression”. And it smacked of the generational drama that followed 80s and 90’s chart-topper Madonna’s famous exploits on stage, replete with innuendo, and raw sexual acts, laid out on stage, on film, and on radio. Like a virgin indeed. So what would Britney say to detractors? Does she feel she is losing her main demographic, pre-teen girls, the parents of which may feel inclined to censor her risqué stage antics? "I feel like I've hit a great new stride as an artist," she says with pride. "I've worked hard, and I feel like I've grown on so many levels."
As part of her “stride”, Britney is being hailed as the new “Material Girl”. Personally, I say the girl has more than just the body, PR, and ambition of the "True Blue" girl she has modeled her career after, she also has quite a set of husky, breathy pipes. And she seems fearless in her desire to change her image, her sound, and her musical influence. Within the confines of her Onyx Hotel Tour, she is branching out, and testing new vocal tracks. She's flexing those diaphragmatic muscles as well as collaborative ones; using her songwriting skills, as well as her soulful inspirations, and her newest hit album virtually pulsates with it.
She co-wrote seven of the project's 12 variable new compositions, mixing it up with such heavy hitters as Red Zone (Me Against The Music, The Hook Up), The Matrix (Shadow), Moby (Early Mornin'), and Cathy Dennis (Toxic, Showdown). Also contributing hit worthy material to the album is R. Kelly (Outrageous), and the Ying-Yang Twins on (I Got That) Boom Boom. The 15-song, 7-costume fanfare performance she pumped through breathlessly on Tuesday is only the beginning she says. “It's about the intensity that people approach music with. It's about getting totally lost in the music and pushing yourself to the edge in every way you can imagine. I love thoroughly immersing myself in music, and I wanted to capture that intensity in a song." Britney's musical perseverance and her evolution from a teen renegade into an engaging young woman are undeniable throughout "In The Zone," her fourth Jive Records collection. Britney says this tour is about her stepping out into a new phase of that evolution. Many say it’s the beginning of her taking the metaphorical baton from Madonna, as shown in the video Me Against the Music, when we see Madonna “disappear”, just as Britney reaches her. And Britney is not shy about her work with the icon. From recording on video and cd with Madonna, to kissing the blonde bombshell on stage at the MTV Music Video Awards this past fall, Britney shares, “The experience was beyond words or description." she says. The two forged what has become a powerful alliance while rehearsing for their now-notorious performance. "As we were working together, there were moments when I simply could not believe that I was standing there on stage next to her. It was never even in the realm of fantasy for me. There is only one Madonna --- and there will always only be one," she says. The chemistry and flow the unlikely duo share, is evidenced throughout their spliced track. But Britney wants to forge a path that is uniquely her own, stating emphatically, "My goal is to have a career that is equally as special, but one that is completely unique to who I am.” Album highlights include the rowdy jam-packed (I Got That) Boom Boom, which features the Ying Yang Twins, and Everytime,; a sparse, powerfully moving remembrance of her very public relationship and heartbreak with singer Justin Timberlake. Through the variation of this album, we see that Britney has grown into a fierce contender in the pop arena. "Those songs are particularly special to me, because neither of them sounds like anything I've ever done before," she says. "Boom Boom is so rough and edgy and fun, while 'Everytime' is so raw and spare. It's me stripped to my core as a singer and as a songwriter. It's as honest as I've ever been in my music.” Well, honesty comes with a price. Will it be a commercial one, or simply a change in the metamorphosis of this fearless artist? Some wonder if she’s not “lost in the game”, and when she reaches new heights, if it will be worth the fall she may take to get there. |

B0rnToPlay at EFGForums.com, part of eFanguide.com, wrote this:
Where do I start? The tour was everything I expected and everything I hoped for. It provided a night of pure enjoyment and even a few moments that I would pay hundreds of dollars just to re-live. I guess I'll start with everything that happened before Britney came on stage. I got there right as Kelis started and honestly, it gave me a whole new appreciation for Britney's lip-synching. I mean, I'm not saying we should love her lipping, but seriously, if she sounded as bad as Kelis did live, it wouldn't be worth it. At least not to me. Milkshake sounded pretty bad and was a bit of a disappointment. Though Kelis' Milkshake was nice, so I guess I can overlook it. After Kelis' set, I went outside for a bottle of water. As soon as I came out, I saw Larry Rudolf. I approached him, introduced myself, and shook his hand. I told him that he has done an amazing job as Britney's manager and that after seeing the endless amount of girls that approached him, I wanted his job. He laughed and we chatted for a bit, but so many people were around him I left him alone. He was very cool. That reminds me...the audience. Wow, what a different audience from that of th DWAD tour. I'd say that 98% of the people were at least 16 or above. Most people looked like they were college students. Its very obvious who Britney appeals to and that her attempt to move away from a younger audience worked. It was very cool to be around Britney fans of the same age. Ok, that's it.
Now on to Britney... At around 9:00, Britney came out. The concert began with a little intro welcoming everyone to the "Onyx Hotel." The manager of the hotel, who looks like a hybrid of a clown and Boy-George, starts by introducing himself and welcoming you to his hotel. Soon enough, a door opens, and it all begins... Toxic - Hello, catsuit! The catsuit was back and she looked as good as ever. Britney came out on this huge moving carriage that was about the size of a tractor. After the first chorus, she slid done a pole on the side and went into the dance routine. It was a great way to start the show. Next she went into... Overprotected - Here is a song I didn't expect. She performed in the catsuit as well and in fact, the performance was very similar to the one from the DWAD tour. She performed the remix and during the bridge she danced the same part she danced in the rain in the Overprotected video. After this song, she welcomed everyone and talked to the crowd for a bit. She seemed like she was really upbeat. Next up was... Boys - The song was pretty cool. It had the beat of the remix, but Pharell's part was cut out, and the original bridge was put in. She performed the beginning on the stairs and had her female dancers with her, and the guys on the other side of the stage. She followed up this song with... Showdown Another song I was surprised to see. They brought out the carts they use to load your luggage on at hotels and during the bridge, they all got in one and dancing inside them. It actually looked really cool. And if Orlando and I heard correctly, it was very much live. Yep, no lipping here. After this song, she stopped again to talk to us. She said "Wow, there are some really hot guys here tonight." She then looked around and said "If you guys are lucky, you might get to hook-up with someone here tonight." She then paused and continued, "But if you are really lucky, I might even marry you." lol When she said that everyone laughed. It was adorable and very nice to see her make fun of herself. She then introduced her band, which was weird given how early in the concert it was, but she had fun with it. She told each of her band members, one by one, to play something for the female dancers. She kept saying "play us something hot."
After introducing them all, she went down in a little elevator to change. Next, a skit came on. It showed Britney leaving a club. Then, out of nowhere, a woman, played by Jana Pinkett Smith appears. She walks away and Britney follows her into the Mystic Lounge. That leads to... Baby One More Time (Cabaret Remix) - Just like she did on the ABC special. It was one of those songs that appeared to be live, but I can't be sure. Her mouth and body movement really matched the vocals, but at the same time, she hasn't sung it live before, so I don't know for sure. She did this chair thing, where the would walk on a row of about 6 chairs. After she passed each chair, her dancers would move the chair from the beginning to the end of the line. She also wore this outfit that made her look extremely hot. It was pink and had fishnet stalkings. It was the one seen on the ET preview. Next, she sang... Oops I Did It Again (Jazz Remix) - Can you say...killed it? lol I did not enjoy this remix. It was very slow and really not interesting. She wore the same outfit that she wore in the previous song and just walked around singing. Again, if her standing around means singing live, its not worth it. It was my least favorite performace of the night and really the one low-point. Too bad too, because I loved the OIDIA performance on the DWAD tour so much. The followed this song with... You Drive Me Crazy - Here's an oldie! It wasn't the Stop! Remix, just the original. The guitar was very load and it sounded amazing. She danced her tail off during this song. And yes, as always, it was lipped. Nonetheless, her music and dancing got you into it, so it was great to hear this Britney classic. She then ran into the back to change. Before the next song started, there was a little skit. It was a video of Britney walking through this beautiful forest. She walks around for a while and eventually runs into a piano covers in flowers and leaves. The video then fades out and the light on the stage come on, revealing a piano. Britney then comes out and sits down at the piano. She says "I'm going to slow things up for a second. You know, the last 6 months have been a roller coaster for me. Their have been ups and downs, but the way I see it, its because of those things that I am who I am today." When she said that, the crowd erupted. She seriously looked like she was crying. She kept having to stop, which I'm guessing was her trying to restrain herself. She then added, "We all know how to laugh. We know how to cry. We know how to be held. We know how to love back. And we all know heartbreak." After she said that, all the girls around me gave a big "aww" and some looked like they were crying too. I thought that was funny, lol.
Britney then said... Everytime - ..."This is a very personal song for me and I hope you like it." She then turned around and started playing the piano. Yes, Britney was playing the piano! She is a musician now. Well, not really, but I'm excited, so give me a break. I've been wanting her to play the piano for a long time, so it was great to see. She sang this song live and she did a great, just like she did on SNL. She kept looking down at her fingers during the pauses in the song to make sure she was doing it correctly. She did great. It was one of the highlights for me. I loved it. Next, she... Hook-Up - It was a surprise to hear this song, but a welcomed one. The crowd seemed really excited to hear it. She wore the same beautiful dress she wore for "Everytime." It was a green and yellow dress that she looked great in. After this upbeat performance, she performed... Slave 4 U This song really got the crowd into it. Everyone screamed when they heard it start and soon enough the whole place was dancing. She did a dance routine very much like the one at the VMAs and given the green, jungle colored dress, the theme was the same too. She also had a nod to the DWAD tour at the end of the song. As she exited the stage and the song ended, she hung onto that tractor-like vehicle from earlier on and fell back, like she did at the end of "Slave" on the DWAD tour. Next, there was a bit of a skit. It was called the "Onyx Zone," which was supposed to be like the "Twilight Show." You then see some that reads, "The Shadow Room" or something like that. That obviously leads into....Shadow - The visuals for this performances were amazingly gorgeous. She wore a light blue dress and sat on a swing/seat that was supported by two cables. The whole stage was a light blue color. It looked almost like she was in water. Very, very beautiful. Her seat slowly lifted throughout the performance. Once the song finished, she went into the back once more. Next, there was another skit that lead into the highlight of the night.... -Next, there was another skit that lead into the highlight of the night. It begin with two security guards watching the monitors. The soon look into Britney's bedroom, where she is in a robe watching television. After not finding anything to watch, a look comes over her face. She blows out the candles, heads to the bathroom, and takes her robe off.
The skit fades to black and the next song is...Touch of My Hand - Woah! If you thought the intro was hot, then you are in for a shock. The songs begins with two beds on the stage and Britney in the upper-left corner in a clear chair wearing a robe. The first verse and chorus is pretty much her dancers on the beds, touching themselves. A guy is on one bed and a girl on another. In the background she had three silhouettes where you could see shadows in 3 different rooms. In the top room, it appeared that there was a threesome going on. After the chorus, it gets crazy. Britney drops her robe revealing her naked ass. She is wearing a clear, diamond suit (like in "Toxic") and it is very see-through. Her ass was very visible and it seemed she was wearing a g-string. Very hot. My jaw hit the floor. She had her hands all over herself. And to top it off, she sang the song live. Yep, yep, yep. It was a very sexual performance, which makes sense, giving that it lead into...Breathe On Me - Another very hot performances. The beds were still on the stage and this time Britney was on one of them. She performed with one of her male dancers. It was pretty much them all over each other, as it was in the next bed, where two of her female dancers danced together. In the right corner, she also had two of her male dancers dancing together. This song was also live, though you could tell she didn't sing some parts. For this song she wore a very sexy outfit, consisting of what was pretty much a bra and panties. Next, she went into...Outrageous - A great song to follow up with. She covered herself up with a trenchcoat in this song, but left it unbuttoned. The song sounded great live and was a great follow up to the two amazing performances before it. In fact, I liked it live a lot more than I like it on the album. During the "sex drive" line Britney lifts up her coat and shakes her ass for us. It was a nice ass, might I add.
After the song, she went into the back one more time and came out with...Boom Boom - I think this was my favorite performance of the night. I had a great time with this song and it seemed like the crowd did too. She wore a pink shirt for this song and the dancing was great. I loved watching the guitar player play the banjo. During the Twins' part she seemed to be making fun of how long it was. She messed around with her dancing acting like there was nothing for her to do in the meantime and took a drink from a water bottle and then threw it to a fan. Britney seemed to sing parts of this song live as well. The verses definately appeared to be live, as well as portions of the choruses. At the end, confetti fell from the roof and she said goodbye. Britney gave her bow with her dancers, thanked the back-up singers, and then thanks everyone for coming out. She danced for a while with her dances and then said she hoped everyone had a great time. As she started to walk of the stage, she ran back and said she didn't want to leave. But then a dancer came back and told her she had to leave. As the ran out she turned and said "Well, since I didn't sing "Sometimes," here it is." She sang the "sometimes I run" line as she ran out. And when her dancers told her she had to stop, she said "Oh well, I didn't like that song anyways." lol She then ran into the back and everything went black..
Then came the encore...Me Against the Music - As someone who doesn't like this song, I was disappointed that she closed with this song. But to be honest, I enjoyed the performace and loved that she did the original and the remix. I like the remix more, so it was a good mix. She wore the same thing she wore in the MATM video, except that it was red. She did the same dancing as the video as well, with a few differences. At the end, she thanked everyone for coming again and that was it. An amazing show came to an end. What can I say folks, it was great. I had an amazing time. I was, to be honest, surprised by the size of the concert. In fact, I was even a bit disappointed at first. The production of this tour is much smaller than that of the DWAD tour. However, when it came down to the show itself, something about Onyx captured me, more so than the DWAD tour did. This tour had moments that I know will be for me forever, moments I wish I could re-live. The DWAD tour, while memorable and amazing, didn't have those moments that stand out. For example, I'll never forget watching Britney play the piano for the first time. I had hoped for so long that she would do it, and to see it come true, well, words really can't express my excitement. To have Britney play the piano, sing several songs live, and just put on an amazing performance overall was more than I ever hoped for. The Onyx Hotel was as amazing as promised and I hope all of you have as much fun as I did. And for those who aren't going, I hope my review brought you at least a bit closer to the expirience. |

I went to Britney's kick-off show in San Diego last night and it was truly a spectacular performance, both visually and emotionally for all attendees. Even if you weren't a fan, you would definitely appreciate the technical virtuosity, the dance movements, and the theatrical, upbeat performance of the entire crew. Britney herself is stunning to watch in person: she exuberates charisma, and a genuine sense of gratitude towards her fans. Britney's show began a little after 9pm, after Kelis had performed for about 40 minutes. The show lasted until 10:45pm. Most of the songs were from the new album, with cabaret-style renditions of Baby One More Time and Oops!..I did it again working their way into the line-up. The stage had three medium-sized screens and a large screen as the backdrop. Unlike her last tour, the stage was not extended out. This time, Britney's costumes were more urban and elegant. She had grown her hair out a bit more, and it looked very bleached blond. It looked great! Britney began her show off with the crowd favorite, Toxic. She came out standing on the top of a small vehicle driven by a crew member. She was wearing a tight, low-cut and very fitted black outfit. For this song, she didn't dance. Her dancers, on the other hand, surrounded the vehicle and performed lots of quick and snappy dance sequences, pirouttes and whatnot. The crowd, mostly between the ages of 12-18, went wild when they saw her. Britney looked really happy when she saw all her fans screaming for her, and cheering her on. After Toxic, she performed two songs from her second album, including the remixed version of Boys from the Austin Powers movie. There were stairs on the right side of the stage, which she and the dancers used for their sequences. After just a few songs, she had a few personal words with the audience. "Hello San Diego!" she said. "This is my first concert in a long time." She told us that she was really pleased to be here tonight performing for everyone. She looked genuinely happy. Britney's only slow song was Everytime. She came out in a beautiful, colorful dress with sequins and flowers beaded on the front and straps. She sat down at the grand piano in the center of the stage and turned to the audience. She said something like this: "I know you have heard things in the press about me, and I want to say for the last 6 months, I've seen my ups and my downs. It's been a learning experience, and I feel like I have grown a lot. This is a song that is really close to my heart, it's called Everytime." Britney sounded a little shy, and a little nervous when she said this, but throughout her speech, fans were screaming and supporting her through it. I know she could feel the unconditional love from her fans. Even when she coughed to clear her throat, the audience said "awww!" She was such a sweetie pie. Near the middle to end of the performance, the dancing took a more sexy, grown-up turn. For Breathe On Me and Touch of My Hand, the stage was set up with two beds in the front, one with a male dancer, and the other with a female dancer in it wearing nothing but a black bra and underwear. On the left, on a platform, there was a metal bathtub full of shiny paper fit to resemble water. On the right side, there were two male dancers dressed in their underwear, dancing together very suggestively. What was shocking was that on the full screen behind the beds, there were video sillhouettes of two couples having sex in separate bedrooms. The couples could be seen on top of each other, and also in other common sex positions. It was very steamy. Britney, on the platform, came out in a white bathrobe. She turned her back to the audience, and teased them as she slid the robe off her body. Underneath, she was wearing a skin-tight sequined body suit made to look like she was naked. She slid into the metal bath tub, and the tub began reclining and moving in different directions. Later, she came out in a cute pink bra and underwear with sexy black stockings and had a sexual dance sequence with the male dancer in the bed. They rolled on top of each other on the bed, and were very suggestive. The audience loved it! The song Shadow was staged beautifully too. She was wearing a green and blue sequined top with a flowing skirt; there was long, flowing fabric that extended from her back to both sides of the stage. Sitting on a swing seat, she was lifted up about 6 feet in the air, then about 14 feet in the air as a dancer hanging on each side of the long fabric began twirling and doing circus-like tricks with the long fabric. (I got that) Boom Boom was a hit with the audience. The dancers were wearing urban-style street wear. Britney came out on top of the stairs wearing a tight-fitting glow in the dark hot pink halter top that wrapped around her stomach and showed slits of skin everywhere. She had baggy jeans on and she was wearing hot pink sneakers. She looked great. During the performance, yellow confetti-like paper was blown out into the audience by two machines situated at the bottom front of the stage. The effect really helped to convey a fun, party-like atmosphere in the Sports Arena. After the song, she and her dancers lined up and bowed and she thanked the audience for coming to her show. The encore performance featured none other than Me Against The Music. For this, the stairs were moved to the center of the stage, with Britney appearing in a bright red fitted suit and pants with matching red hat at the top of the stairs. She had her hair tied in a low pony tail. For this song, the dancers were really n sync with each other. I was really impressed. The song ended with the crew posed on the stairs, and Britney being shadowed by a screen that covered her torso and up. Then the lights went out, and Britney and the dancers slipped off stage. That was the last sighting of Britney. Overall, Britney and her dancers impressed me with their talent and energy. The dancing featured hip hop, ballet, modern, jazz dancing and all kinds of street dancing. The host of the show, a rotund ringleader dressed in a purple suit, and hat, helped to bridge the gaps between set and costume changes, and kept the audience entertained. Videos of Britney in different scenes and movie-like plots helped to engage the audience with the Onyx Hotel theme. And Britney herself, was radiant, happy, and a pleasure to watch.

Britney Spears' Onyx Hotel Tour made good on its promised titillation at Tuesday night's kickoff — with lingerie, elements of S&M and bump 'n' grind gyrations — again and again and again.
A flamboyant emcee in a purple top hat, glittery eye patch and jacket with tails introduced the show. The production about to be witnessed, he declared like a circus ringmaster, would take the audience "where fun-filled fantasies keep you on your toes" and where "your body will be privy to many a titillation."
With that, Spears' dancers made the first of many dramatic descents from the San Diego Sports Arena's rafters and the band kicked into her latest hit, "Toxic." Britney herself arrived moments later — first on one of the video screens that comprised nearly every vertical inch of the two-tiered stage set, and then in the flesh atop a wheeled metal platform.
Wearing the same tight black bodysuit she squeezed into for rehearsals the night before, Spears led her eight dancers around the stage, up and down the silver platform, and into the second song, "Overprotected," before taking a break to say hello to the crowd.
"Goodness," she said in a Louisiana drawl. "What's up, San Diego?"
While she was making small talk, her male dancers were backstage changing into leather pants, backward suspenders over bare chests and bellboy hats for a "Boys" number in which they wheeled the girls around on luggage trolleys. It would be one of the few points in the show when the "hotel" part of the theme was clear. At other times it was easy to find yourself checking out, like when the emcee did a Rod Serling impression for a "Twilight Zone" spoof or when a video clip showed Britney wandering around a lush, garden paradise.
The night's first video clip featured Britney following a mysterious woman down an alley, where she was shown the way to a place called the Mystic Lounge. Spears' band then kicked into lounge mode, performing a subdued jazzy medley of "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again." Carrying a microphone with a bullwhip attached to it, Spears came out wearing frilly pink lingerie with a black corset-like midsection and black stockings.
Her backup dancers, mixing undergarments with fedoras a la "Cabaret," did her "Stronger" video one better by lining up silver chairs for Britney to walk on and systematically moving the last chair to the front of the line until she'd made it across the stage.
Out of breath and quite sweaty (lip-syncing isn't the only thing giant video monitors are bad at hiding), Britney paused after "(You Drive Me) Crazy" to joke, "There's a lot of cute guys here. Who knows, maybe if you're really lucky I might marry you" (see "Britney Spears Married In Las Vegas, At Least For A Little While"). She would touch on her quickie marriage again moments later after changing into a short, rainbow-colored dress and sitting down at a flower-covered piano for her upcoming single "Everytime."
"I don't know if you guys know what's been going on with me, if you read the press," she said. "The past six months have been like a roller coaster with a lot of ups and a lot of downs. ... [But] everything we experience makes us realize how beautiful life can really be."
A few songs later came In the Zone's other ballad, "Shadow," and the night's most impressive dance move. With Britney sitting on a swing, long strands of cloth draped on either side of her were raised up to reveal a pair of dancers in nude-colored body stockings. The men crawled their way up, wrapping themselves in the cloth as they climbed ever higher above the stage, and once they reached the top they let go and went unraveling downward, stopping themselves just before gravity made ex-dancers out of them.
The thrills only increased as the video setting up "Touch of My Hand" appeared, in which Britney was shown lounging on a bed before blowing out some candles, letting her bathrobe drop to the floor and getting into a tub filled with bubbles and rose petals.
The crowd erupted when she performed the same disrobing onstage, revealing the diamond suit from her "Toxic" video. As her dancers stripped themselves and each other down to their underwear, Britney sent the crowd into an even bigger frenzy by enjoying, well, the touch of her hands. Slowly. From point A to points B and B.
Re-emerging for the equally libidinous "Breathe on Me" in a less expensive — though no less revealing — outfit consisting of a pink bra and panties, Spears cavorted on one of the stage's two beds with a male dancer, thrashing her sizable blonde mane to and fro. With everyone already dressed like Frederick's of Hollywood mannequins, it was the perfect time to slip on trench coats for the R. Kelly-penned "Outrageous," which features the lyric, "Trench coat and my underwear/ Let's go with this freak show."
But a freak show of another kind colored the finale, "(I Got That) Boom Boom." Since the Ying Yang Twins weren't there to give the song its Dirty South flavor, Britney went for the next best thing — Mardi Gras. Tossing out bead necklaces and shooting confetti cannons, Spears thanked the crowd twice and said goodnight.
Everyone waited in their seats, though, wondering what the big encore was going to be. How was Britney going to top the Dream Within a Dream Tour's dazzling waterfall number?. It turned out she wasn't.
Red lights flashed as sirens blared and warned of a "system malfunction." "Matrix"-like green graphics scrawled vertically on monitors. Then as flames burst, Britney walked out in a red pantsuit for Rishi Rich's Desi Kulcha remix of "Me Against the Music," eventually taking off the jacket to reveal a shiny red bustier but performing one of the more straightforward numbers of the night.
When the music stopped, the lights came on and a collective cry of "Awwww" was heard amongst the disappointed crowd as Britney's dancers and bandmembers awkwardly made their way offstage.

BS.Org First To Report: VMA 04 Might Be In Memphis, TN |

The Commerical Appeal reported to BritneySpears.Org: MTV is considering Memphis and FedExForum for the 2004 Video Music Awards, according to sources familiar with the talks.
The network's showcase annual event could take place in early September, about the time the $250 million arena is scheduled to open.
For Memphis, the VMAs would bring international attention to the city's yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of rock and roll.
Given its reputation for superstar turns and shocking twists, the awards show could be Memphis's biggest celebrity-oriented event since the 2002 Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis heavyweight title bout.
But it's not known how many cities are in the running or where Memphis might rank among them.
MTV officials made a site visit to Memphis last Wednesday and Thursday, meeting with a local contingent that included representatives of the Memphis and Shelby County Music Commission, the Grizzlies, local businessmen and city, county and state officials.
An MTV spokesman would neither confirm nor deny that the network is considering Memphis or any other city. Music commission officials and the Grizzlies, who will operate FedExForum, also declined to talk about the visit.
Regular host city New York will be the site of the Republican National Convention, Aug. 30-Sept. 2.
The VMAs are referred to in Associated Press accounts as "an annual celebrity circus" at which "mere music takes a back seat to wacky antics, barely there outfits and eye-popping performances."
Last year's event had Madonna sharing open-mouthed kisses with both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. In a more subdued moment with Memphis connections, local product Justin Timberlake honored Johnny Cash, whom he beat out for "best male video."
"My grandfather raised me on Johnny Cash," Timberlake said, "and I think he deserves this more than any of us in here tonight."
Cash, hospitalized at the time, died the next month.
As part of the rock and roll anniversary celebration, the music commission is seeking to stage a major music festival in September with a possible multi-act concert at FedExForum followed by several days of music at Tom Lee Park and Mud Island. It isn't known if the VMAs would coincide with the proposed music festival. |

Britney Spears at her final tour rehearsal on Monday
As Britney Spears prepares to launch her Onyx Hotel Tour, a few more details have leaked out, thanks to a few well-placed cameras on Monday at San Diego's final full rehearsal, which she opened up to a few fans and contest winners.
The singer's set list will mostly contain songs from In the Zone, with only a handful of older songs making the cut. Among those will be "Boys," "Overprotected" and a jazzy/bluesy medley mix up of "Oops! ... I Did It Again" and "... Baby One More Time" that will have a cabaret feel.
Adding to the theater atmosphere will be a rotund MC, who'll welcome fans to the Onyx Hotel. The stage production takes a few cues from Broadway musicals based on events in the 1930s (see "Britney Spears Releasing Diddy-Produced Song On DVD") but modernizes the look with crashing chandeliers and a few explosions. As for Spears, she and her dancers are attired in much more modern dress, including a practically sewn-on rubberlike outfit that covers just about everything except for a large open area from her bust to her neck. Her dancers opt for more comfortable looking but seemingly exotic wear, with touches of kimono and camouflage clothing. (Click for behind-the-scenes photos of Britney's tour rehearsal.)
The "more adult" hotel theme, Spears said in a videotaped interview sent out by her label, was inspired by having to travel so much, whereas adding the onyx stone to the concept helps bring a spark of magic.
"I would love my audience to walk out of the auditorium feeling like they had the most magical experience of their life," she said. "The onyx stone is kind of symbolic of what guides me in my life, like there's a bigger picture in everything, and there's something that guides you where you need to go, from point A to point B."
The new songs are taking center stage, she said, "because you need a new craft, something new to express and give to people, and it makes it exciting for me." Of the new material, current single "Toxic" and next single "Everytime" are the songs she's looking most forward to performing.
"I really think I'm talking to everyone when I perform 'Everytime,' " she said of the ballad. "It's about heartbreak, it's about your first love, your first true love. That's something all people can relate to, because you all have that first love that you think you're going to be with the rest of your life."
Spears said she's "getting jitters" just thinking about having to perform the songs outside of rehearsal, though she noted she works "very well under pressure." She said she's looking forward to playing venues in smaller markets "because they're so enthused for you there," and it helps make her feel better about the otherwise high-pressure experience.
"When things get crazy and chaotic, I just go inside myself, just express myself and do my thing," she said. "The day I'm going to perform, oh my goodness, I'm probably going to wake up and be a nervous wreck. I'll go to the venue, just kind of meditate, stay in my room, talk to the dancers, work out everything, and just go out there and do it, man, just do it."
Spears revealed that for her stop in Miami, which will air on Showtime, there'll be two special guests "who are going to heighten it and make it a little bit more exciting." The concert special airs March 28 at 9 p.m., live in the Eastern time zone, but tape delayed elsewhere.
"I think it's good for your soul to travel," Spears said of the trek. "It makes me feel free, very free, very creative. I love going home but I can't stay there too long. I love what I do too much."
The tour kicks off Tuesday (March 2) in San Diego and hits 25 North American cities before wrapping up April 12 in New York (see "Britney Spears Lines Up Tour For In The Zone").

Singer Britney Spears says her mum and dad are so dominating that they make her feel like she's "trapped in a prison".
According to the Daily Mirror, Britney, 22, told Seventeen magazine: "A lot of the things I've done that seem absurd were out of wanting to break free.
"Your parents have to let go of you and let you mess up because it allows you to learn who you are. You can't live in a prison."
Britney is said to have angered her parents when she tied the knot with Jason Alexander in Las Vegas back in January - which was annulled two days later.
Spears added: "Sometimes it's cool to make mistakes. You learn a lot about yourself."
The singer has recently looked to the Kabbala system of Jewish mysticism for help.
She said: "It's helped identify why I'm on this road." |

Britney Spears could be celebrating this Sunday, as her single Toxic races ahead of rival Kylie Minogue's tune. Early sales figures show Britney's song is selling almost twice as fast as Kylie's Red Blooded Woman and is headed for number one.
It means I'm A Celebrity's Peter Andre's chart hit with the re-released Mysterious Girl will be short-lived.
According to the sales figures, Kylie's single is heading for the number five spot, while Peter sits at number two.
Toxic has sold 5,000 more copies than Mysterious Girl and chart experts predict it will sell 100,000 more by the weekend.
Kylie apparently criticised Brits' videos recently Britney has had a tough time recently, and Kylie has even reportedly criticised Britney's saucy videos.
But an HMV spokesperson said there was a "great buzz" about Toxic.
"It should give her the kind of momentum to challenge Beyonce and Christina once again for the crown of world's number one pop diva," he said.
The catchy Cha Cha Slide by DJ Casper looks likely to grab third place in the race for the top.
If Britney's single makes it to the top, it will be her first number one in the UK since Oops!... I Did It Again in May 2000.

e-consultancy reported that Britney Spears released her first ever realtone ringtone on the UK market this week. Britney with her record company Jive Records used Amplefuture, to provide the service for her current single “Toxic”. It is available from http://www.uk.britney.com along with more conventional monophonic, polyphonic ringtones.
Realtones, (also known as “Truetones”), are different from normal ringtones because they are an extract taken from the actual recording, reproducing the authentic listening experience rather than a series of tones that are an “interpretation” of the original recording. Amplefuture are one of the few major ringtone companies to be providing such a service.
Britney is one of the first “A-list” internationally recognised artists to distribute her music through a realtone. It is a recognition of the growing importance of innovation in mobile music as a means of keeping in touch with UK youth culture. Ringtones are also an additional source of revenue for the music industry, as ringtone sales outsell CD singles in the UK (source Mobile Data Association).
“We are delighted to work with Amplefuture to give Britney’s UK fans the chance to get the authentic ‘Toxic’ on their mobiles.” Said Hans Griffiths, Marketing Manager of Jive Records UK. |

We mentioned this about a week back but more details now have been announced about this MTV-Britney deal. It's a pretty big deal and it's going to give Britney some great exposure on MTV!
Billboard reported that MTV has rolled out its first global tour sponsorship in the MTV Presents Britney Spears Onyx Hotel Tour 2004.
Kicking off Tuesday (March 2) at the San Diego Sports Arena, the tour will play more than 25 cities in North America before visiting Europe, Latin America and Asia later this year. MTV's sponsorship will include a number of on-air, online and onstage components to support Spears as she tours behind her multiplatinum Jive Records release "In the Zone."
"There are not that many artists that appeal to every territory with an MTV channel, but Britney Spears is one of the select few," says Joe Armenia, VP of music marketing and promotion for MTV. "We have been waiting for the opportunity to make a global splash, and the Britney tour is it."
As part of the all-media sponsorship, MTV will be in all advertising and on every ticket throughout the tour, as well as have a presence on-site with interactive promotions and venue signage. In the United States, three episodes of MTV's "Total Request Live" will be dedicated to behind-the-scenes action on the tour, and tour spots will run worldwide. Mtv.com will feature exclusive downloads, streaming video and ticket and merch auctions benefiting the Britney Spears Foundation.
"For the better part of the rest of the year, we'll be on the road with Britney," Armenia says. "This is more support than we've ever given an artist in the U.S., let alone all over the world."
Why Spears? "We love the association with Britney; she has always been a core part of this channel," Armenia says. "And our fans love Britney." |

The First Concert in Showtime History Broadcast in HD and Dolby Digital 5.1
When multi-platinum superstar Britney Spears takes the stage on SHOWTIME Sunday, March 28th at *9 PM ET/PT, SHOWTIME viewers won't have to miss a single detail. The full-length concert will be presented in High Definition television in the highest quality format -- 1080i. The concert will also have the distinction of being the first live event broadcast on SHOWTIME in Dolby Digital Surround Sound 5.1. The SHOWTIME concert event will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, just one of the stops on the first leg of Britney's World Tour 2004.
Known for her elaborate productions, Spears and her high-octane team will create an exciting, extravagant television production, with award-winning director Hamish Hamilton and producer Ian Stewart on board and shooting the action in HD. Showtime Networks has hired a fully-equipped High Definition mobile truck unit that can simultaneously broadcast Standard Definition and High Definition signals. Showtime's Jay Larkin will serve as executive producer of the event with Jock McLean serving as executive in charge of production. Britney Spears and Larry Rudolph also serve as executive producers of the show.
"The new technology allows the dual signals to be broadcast from one truck at the event 'live' making HD production easier and more cost effective," said Showtime VP of Production Gordon Hall. "We are fortunate that this technology allows us to keep up with the increasing demands of our HD audience. We can offer our viewers the highest quality production available, which is critical during a concert of this caliber that is sure to create a high level of expectation and excitement."
