More On Britney Going Toxic

Britney Spears is ready to hit the tabloids, one more time. After recent stories have suggested the "Oops" singer is "eating for two" (Star), that she "insists she wants to lose weight, but her eating habits tell a different story" (Us Weekly), and that her new "bump" is due to overindulging in her mom's home cooking (Life & Style), Spears has apparently had enough of the "is she or isn't she?" speculation. On Wednesday, she lashed out at the glossies in a statement on her official Website. Addressing her missive to "false tabloids," Spears attacked publications such as Star, Us Weekly and In Touch magazines, criticizing their hiring practices. "Dear False Tabloids," the posting began. "As you read this letter, I bet you are asking yourself: Who? Who, me? Am I a false tabloid? Well, I don't know. But after this posting, I hope you are asking yourself a lot of questions. Your employees are a reflection of your magazine. Do you, Us Weekly, In Touch, Star and other desperate magazines want employees who are honest, or those who are liars? It seems to me that you'd prefer the latter. "I'm really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies. I'd like them to ask themselves the question, 'What am I lying to myself about?' Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren't making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you? Until you face what is going on in your life, I guess you'll remain a false tabloid." (People magazine escaped the "Toxic" singer's wrath; in a postscript, she noted that "People magazine is great in my book!") Both Star and Us Weekly, which have reported that the singer is about three months along, released statements standing by their reporting. "Unlike other magazines that pay for access to Britney, the writers at Us Weekly have high journalistic standards and do their own researching and reporting for all stories. Our coverage of Britney has proven to be accurate," an Us spokesperson said. It's not the first time Spears has butted heads with the tabs. Last month, the "Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" singer expressed her ire over the fact that Us Weekly dared to publish unauthorized photos of her honeymoon, stating that she was "disturbed" at the assault on her privacy. An Us Weekly spokeswoman fired back, suggesting that Spears had hardly been the model of discretion in the past. "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy," the spokeswoman said in a statement last month. "Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos?" Food for thought, certainly. Meanwhile, in the midst of all the furor, Spears still did not address the burning question at hand--whether she and her husband of seven months, Kevin Federline, are indeed expecting a wee Spears-Federline. For now, Spears has been keeping busy playing stepmom to Federline's two children from his previous marriage, as well as spending plenty of time babying her three purse-sized dogs, Lacy, Lucky and Bit Bit.

Britney Fights Back Against Tabloid 'Liars' On Her Web Site

Fighting reports that she's pregnant and having marital problems with husband Kevin Federline, Britney Spears on Wednesday (March 30) called those stories "false" and the reporters who write them "liars." On her Web site, Spears wrote an open letter to Us Weekly, Star and what she called other "desperate magazines," saying that the scrutiny is not only unfair but hypocritical, since the tabloids don't fess up to their own imperfections. She addressed the letter to "false tabloids" and said their coverage showed they obviously don't care about reporting the truth. Star and Us Weekly have reported that the pop star is three months along, claiming that a recent doctor visit was to get a sonogram. They've also noted that Spears hasn't been spotted drinking or smoking, and both have run pictures that appear to show Spears has gained weight in her breasts and abdominal area. That weight gain, however, could be attributed to her junk food diet and a relaxing of her previously strenuous exercise regime. Spears joked in Allure's April cover story that the extra pounds are the "honeymoon aftereffect" of "just lounging around and eating and lying out" during the early days of her marriage to Federline. That marriage, Star and Us Weekly report, is on the rocks because Federline isn't enthused about adding another child to the mix (he already has two children with former girlfriend Shar Jackson, 2-year-old Kori and 8-month-old Kaleb). "Your employees are a reflection of your magazine," Spears wrote in her letter. "I'm really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies. I'd like them to ask themselves the question 'What am I lying to myself about?' Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren't making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you? Until you face what is going on in your life, I guess you'll remain a false tabloid." Spears' opinion, spokesperson Leslie Sloane Zelnick said, is "shared by many." Both Star and Us Weekly issued statements Wednesday insisting that they stand by their reporting. Us Weekly elaborated: "Unlike other magazines that pay for access to Britney, the writers at Us Weekly have high journalistic standards and do their own researching and reporting for all stories. Our coverage of Britney has proven to be accurate." Spears has expressed much dissatisfaction in the media's coverage of her lately, complaining that Allure's April cover story on her focused too much on her personal life, and lambasting Us Weekly for printing her honeymoon photos (see "The Honeymoon Is All Over: Britney PO'd Over Leaked Photos"). Rumors Expand Around Britney's Pregnancy

USA TODAY had an interesting article recapping and discussing all the tabliod news lately about Britney's pregnancy. Is Britney Spears pregnant? Or just really, really hungry? Us Weekly reports that Spears was recently seen at Starbucks gobbling a roast beef sandwich but avoiding coffee and cigarettes — a sign of pregnancy? AP photo Her publicist says she's not expecting, but Spears and her increasingly voluptuous figure are sparking a flurry of speculation. Us Weekly and Star have reported that the pop princess is pregnant, citing unnamed sources. The Us Weekly article, headlined "Baby on Board," says Spears was recently seen at Starbucks gobbling a roast beef sandwich but avoiding coffee and cigarettes. Life & Style says Spears, 23, is not pregnant, and it attributes her "bump" to mom's home cooking. Brit's also been sampling the chili and smoothies at her dad's joint, JJ Chill, in Venice, Calif., People reports. But People also enters the fray of pregnancy speculation by printing several photos showing Brit's new curves under the headline "Britney's Baby Buzz." Spears has made no secret about wanting a baby with husband Kevin Federline. But publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick tells USA TODAY: "Britney told me she's not pregnant." Of course, not all baby rumors turn out to be true. Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston have both been the subject of false pregnancy reports in the media. Spears, meanwhile, posted a cryptic message on her Web site this month that might be a clue to some big Brit news on the horizon: "I feel as though I have been very quiet and still lately. 'The calm before the storm' — I can really relate to that statement."

Britney Confirms Shes Pregnant?

Britney Spears and her husband of seven months, Kevin Federline, are expecting a baby, Star can exclusively and definitively reveal! The 23-year-old singer is three-months pregnant, according to sources close to the couple, and an official announcement confirming the happy news is expected to be released this weekend. Sources say Britney has canceled all her future work engagements and is busy preparing for her new job - motherhood - when the baby arrives this fall. Brit's made no secret of her desire to start a family since her marriage to Kevin Federline on Sept. 18 last year. Less than a month after the wedding, Britney was telling fans on her Web site, britneyspears.com, how she longed for a baby, saying, "Being married is GREAT and I can't wait to start my family!" Now it looks like her dream has finally come true. A source close to the couple tells Star that Britney is already reading "What to Expect When You're Expecting," an advice manual for expectant moms by pregnancy and childcare writer Heidi Murkoff, and is eating for two with double helpings of everything. "Brit is totally focused on being a mom," says the source. "She says it's the most important thing she's ever done in her life. From now until the baby comes, she says she's not going to do anything more strenuous than eat for two!" Father-to-be Kevin, 27, already has two children by his ex, Moesha star Shar Jackson - Kori, 2, and Kaleb, 8 months. "He calls Brit 'my lady-in-waiting,'" says the source. "Kevin knows he's not going to get a moment's peace from now until the baby comes. He says what he really enjoys about her pregnancy is chugging beers and telling Brit 'You can't have one!'" Another source close to the couple says although the Britney and Kevin are keeping the pregnancy a secret, they're not fooling their friends and family. "Kevin's been acting funny," says the source. "But he won't explain why. Britney and Kevin have been planning how they would handle this if they found out she was pregnant - they'd keep it to themselves until she was at least three months along." The week before her momentous announcement was expected, Britney was taking it easy, relaxing in Santa Monica's luxury beach hotel Le Merigot, where she's staying with Kevin for two weeks while their $7-million Malibu home is renovated. She enjoyed a massage and then hit the eucalyptus sauna and steam room. But it looks like she's decided to get back in shape for her pregnancy too - splitting her daily workout between power-walking on the gym treadmill and yoga stretches. And after all that hard work, Brit ordered up some room service - fried calamari and shrimp cocktail, with extra roulade sauce. All that mayo is pretty fattening, Brit! Newlyweds Out Without Wedding Rings

Singer Britney Spears has taken off her wedding ring and is reportedly staying in a hotel while husband Kevin Federline and his friends party. Married just six months, the pair reportedly had a spat over how to celebrate his 27th birthday Monday, The Mirror reported Thursday. A friend of Spears' told the newspaper: "Britney was upset because she wanted to spend his birthday together. But instead he invited his friends to come and stay and they have been bumming around and going on trips to get cigarettes and food." Wednesday, both were seen without their rings -- she in Santa Monica, Calif., and he in Malibu, where the couple lives. A spokesman for Spears was quick to quell rumors of a break-up. "We don't know why she isn't wearing her ring but everything is fine between Britney and Kevin. They're not splitting up."

Is Britney Too Raunchy?

There's nothing new in bashing someone else in order to make yourself feel a bit better - and clearly celebrities are no different. Former Spice Girl, Mel C, has blasted fellow pop artist Britney Spears for her dress sense. She's spoken out, branding Britney "overtly sexual." Mel C says she is appalled at Brit's massive transformation from innocent schoolgirl to raunchy star. Poor delicate Mel said: "Britney's gone too far. I find it really shocking. "She's overtly sexual in everything she does. I see her and I think: 'Put it away, love.'" It's true that since Britney first appeared on the pop scene in 1999, her image has changed and she rarely wears pigtails and school skirts anymore - but she's also no longer 18. The 23-year-old has managed to transform herself into a veritable sex symbol - albeit a slightly trashy one - with the aid of skimpy bras and corsets. But with her albums and world tours selling out, she must be doing something right.

Britney Spears displayed a new, long-haired brunette 'do when she launched a global campaign for her perfume, Curious, on Friday. "I've always wanted to have a fragrance of my own, and now I've seen my dream come true," she said at a press conference in New Orleans. "It's really nice to share something this personal and special with my fans around the world." The singer posed with fans from Australia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, Spain and Ireland, who won contests to come and meet Britney. ... Meanwhile, Spears has prevailed in a lawsuit filed against her by a clothing company that was disputing her use of the phrase "In the Zone" for her album of that name. San Diego athletic-clothing company Lite Breeze Inc. claimed trademark infringement, since it used the phrase in association with its promotion of music and live sporting events, but the judge granted the singer's request for a summary judgment and ruled in the favor of the defense.

The 26-year-old was uninspired by her appearance when they met a few years ago, and would never have predicted he'd end up walking down the aisle with her. Britney Visits A Family Doctor

More reason to beleive Britney is pregnate? Well I'm not going to comment on that but we have great pictures of Britney visiting a family doctor in Beverly Hills with her per chihuahua Bit Bit. Britney and Kevin departed their $2500 per night hotel bungalow in the morning and went their seperate ways with Britney going to the doctors and Kevin heading over to his friends for a quick game of golf. After her two hour doctors session Britney with her rapidly expanding stomach and bust line headed back to her hotel, promptly checked out and then her and hubby headed back to their recently renovated Malibu Hills hideaway. Britney Wants Anti-Paparazzi Law Passed

Pop superstar Britney Spears is fighting for new laws in her adopted California to keep the paparazzi from being too intrusive. The Toxic singer has become prey for Hollywood's top photographers and now she wants to meet with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss a change in the law - to keep prying snappers away from her private business. She says, "I want to talk to Arnold Schwarzenegger and see if there could be a law where, you know, if you go to special events and stuff, it's fine for them to be there, but in your personal time, it's stalking." Clearing The New Tabloid Gossip

Ok, well looks like the Daily Record as done it again. According to the Daily Record, which by the way is a English tabloid - an equivalent to the Star in the US, has said that Britney does not want to have children anymore because of fears of the weight gain that will be attributed to giving birth to a child. To go on the record, Britney has said she wants to have children and that she wants to get back into shape. She has not however, said that she doesnt want to have kids because of losing weight.

Pop beauty Britney Spears has made peace with the makers of a diet aid pill, following a long-running dispute. In 2003, the "Toxic" singer was photographed spilling Zoller Laboratories' Zantrex-3 pills from her bag at London's Heathrow Airport. The controversial sighting prompted a pre-emptive federal lawsuit filed by the drug maker claiming the star was threatening to sue them for using her image without permission. The super slick Latino singer and actor has duetted with the likes of Whitney Houston and rap star Kelis. U.S. pop star Britney Spears says she has gained weight since her marriage to Kevin Federline but she is not pregnant, "Access Hollywood" reports. The music icon told Allure magazine she let herself go once she got married and her tummy has experienced "the honeymoon after-effect" because she's been "lounging around and eating and laying out" with the mister. Spears also said seeing photos of herself made her realize she "needed to lose weight." For a girl who's supposed to be on a break, Britney Spears has been speaking out a lot lately — from posting on her Web site to leaking new music to conducting cover-story magazine interviews. But no more. After the latest of these cover stories, for Allure's April issue, Spears says she's shutting up — at least about her personal life. "I feel the article focused too much on my personal life and various events from my past," Spears wrote on her Web site Thursday. "I've already dealt with these issues with the support of my family and friends and have fully moved on." Spears has given far more personal material to other magazines in the past — from posing bottomless for Esquire and topless for Rolling Stone (and again for Allure) to sharing her wedding, photos and all, with People, and talking about the state of her marriage for Federline's cover story in Details. So what sort of personal issues did Allure delve into that rubbed Britney the wrong way? For starters, the magazine dared to mention her breakup with Justin Timberlake, her first marriage to Jason Alexander (later annulled), and the admittedly rocky start of her second marriage to Kevin Federline. Of that first marriage, Spears told the magazine her behavior was a "desperate cry to her family," even though "I didn't think it was real." Perhaps what Spears really took issue with is the magazine calling her trip down the Vegas aisle (and her assessment of it) "implausibly naive," surmising that the singer is "hardly more grown-up than many preteens." Spears also told the magazine she was grateful that paparazzi shots revealed she had gotten heavier, because "it made me see that I needed to lose weight," and she attributed the extra pounds to "just lounging around and eating and lying out" during the early days of her marriage to Federline, pointing to her stomach and calling it the "honeymoon aftereffect." She told the magazine she's not pregnant and that having a baby soon is "not something I'm striving for." "In the future, I will refrain from discussing my private life in interviews," Spears wrote on her site. "It will be expressed solely through art." Even before the new magazine with all new pictures and article Allure comes out, Britney has already warned that she has been to personal. On BritneySpears.com Britney has said that the article became personal. Britney Spears may be ready for her second movie. The pop star, who last appeared in 2002's Crossroads, is reportedly joining Tim Allen, Bette Midler, Cher and Wanda Sykes in the comedy In the Pink. Britney Spears might be a singer but she is good at acting to, which is one reason why she has signed up for her second movie, which is to begin filming soon. According to ratethemusic, she will play door-to-door saleswoman Drew Heart Alongside Cher, Tim Allen And Bette Midler in 'Comedy In The Pink'. "Britney really wanted this part - it's a good script and she's determined to prove to her doubters that she can be funny," her friend was quoted as saying.

Well it seems to go like this. a few months ago britney played a track Mona Lisa on Kiisfm. well this is something major, Well the song she did was actually a song inteneded for her to perform for a Madonna special coming up on MTV this Fall. Six months after saying "I do," Britney is following in her husband's footsteps, breaking her self-imposed hiatus to do her first magazine cover and interview since becoming Mrs. Federline. In the article, she reveals to Allure that being a newlywed wasn't all blissful at first. The racy cover photo has a naked Britney wearing just a necklace and comes along with an interview where Mrs. Federline opens up about her month marriage to Kevin. Britney Spears landed her dad Jamie an Oscars catering contract much to the delight of Best Actor winner Jamie Foxx. The Toxic beauty went out of her way to give her father's fledgling catering business a helping hand by securing the contract to serve food at PEOPLE magazine's after-show party. Foxx, Kerry Washington, Wyclif Jean, Paula Abdul and Kyle MacLachlan were impressed by Jamie's selection of fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Jamie set up his Californian business after divorcing Britney's mother Lynne and beating his alcoholism.

Liking Britney's new single, 'Do Somethin''? "Not much of a tune," you might be thinking, "but it sounds amazing. Sounds so modern, so now. How very brilliant that she is on the verge of propelling this brand new song into the higher reaches of the pop parade." CLANG! The single was first recorded over two and a half years ago by the Murlyn-sponsored four-piece girlgroup Melodi Brown (pictured below), a sort of clearing house for the hitmaking team's talents and a band whose run of nicked songs adds whole new dimension to the phrase 'always the bridesmaid'. Since the stalled release of their first single 'Naked' in 2003 (it was pulled just a couple of months before it was due to hit the shops, probably something to do with idiot playlist bigwigs not getting it), they've already had 'DJ' recorded by both Samantha Mumba and Jamelia, and 'Spin That Bottle' slapped onto a Rachel Stevens b-side. Britney & Kevin Last Minute Shopping Before Heading Back To LA

We have some awesome pictures of Britney and Kevin doing some last minute shopping in Kentwood before boarding Britney's private jet to come back home to Los Angeles. Britney and Kevin made purchases at the local Kentwood jewelry store and even purchased a large fairy doll that was on display.
