Rumors Floating on the Net

There have been a lot of rumors going on around the Internet about Britney's new album and tour. Well, from what I have heard and been told, the album is coming out in October. Now the first single off the album could be out as soon as July or in August, depends on how early Jive Records decides to promote the album. Right now I think it will be out in mid July. Furthermore, I'm hearing that at The Kiss 108 Concert 2003, Britney said that the first single would be out in July too and a possible tour starting in January.

From BritneySpears.com: It has been a busy month for all of us again. Britney is still recording into the wee hours of the morning. She called me one morning and was ecstatic about a song she'd written that night. There is nothing better than to hear her so excited. I had a great birthday and Mother's Day all in the same week. I was able to be with all my children. I spent a few days with Britney and Bryan, then flew home on Mother's Day to spend the day with JamieLynn, who can't really leave because she has so many ballgames at night. JamieLynn graduated from sixth grade May 21. She’s finally out for the summer. I am so relieved to be able to sleep late. Britney couldn't make graduation, but Bryan was able to be there. Britney has been doing lots of shopping for clothes for her album cover and various photo shoots she has in the next few weeks. Her friend, Jenny, is in town. They are having a good visit, shopping and spending time together. Friday, May 23rd starts the online auction for Britney's foundation. She is auctioning some very sentimental items. MTV reports on the preview of Britney's 4th LP and rumors Of 'Cry Me A River' response. From the sound of things, Britney Spears appears to be channeling Madonna on her fourth album. The pop singer, who took a step toward womanhood on Britney, has taken the Material Girl's cue, seeming to address more adult themes and styles while retaining a sense of girlish fun on her upcoming disc, which she previewed for MTV recently at Battery Studios. "I've really been able to take my time and have creative control and make [the new album] special, special, special," she said. Producers who have worked with the singer — including Rodney Jerkins, the Neptunes, 7 Aurelius, the Matrix and Fred Durst — have described the new material as having a trip-hop vibe, reminiscent of Madonna's "Ray of Light." Parts of Spears' suggestive "Touch of My Hand," one of three songs the singer played for MTV, merit that comparison. With a Middle Eastern influence, the song is sleek and fluid, with Spears singing in a slightly lower register of her desire to be "out of control": "I will be bold/ Going to the places where I can be out of control/ Don't want to explain tonight/ All the things I try to hide." "It's one of my favorite tracks on the album," Spears said. "I like to compare it to 'That's the Way Love Goes,' kind of a Janet Jackson thing." While "Touch of My Hand" makes it clear what Spears wants, the dance song "Brave Girl" is about finding out what you want in the first place. Backed by choppy, electro-funk beats, she sings in a bouncy near-rap, "She's going to find her passion, she's going to find her way, she's going to get right out of this/ She don't want New York, she don't want L.A., she's going to find that special kiss." "It's basically about going out and having a good time," Spears said. The bubbly nature of "Brave Girl" also seems to be more indicative of what the rest of the album might sound like, according to sources close to Spears who've heard more tracks and describe them as upbeat. Of the songs previewed, "Every Time" is Spears' most adult and her closest attempt at a traditional pop ballad. "Every Time" has a lilting piano intro accompanying the singer's breathy vocals, which build from soft to strong, despite lyrics that suggest she feels otherwise. "Go to sleep ... why carry on without me?/ Every time I try to fly/ Without my wings/ I feel so small." "Sometimes when I get kind of bored, I come behind here and play the piano," Spears said while giving a tour of her studio space. "There's a piano in the hotel room, so I was really excited. I don't know what 'C' is or, like, all that, but I do my own thing." One thing you won't find on the album is a response track to ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River," despite rumors to the contrary. "You know, it's funny," she said. "I read that I wrote this song and I wrote these lyrics, and that's not my style. I would never do that." Spears is the guest host of several radio concert festivals this weekend, including Q102's Q Concert 14 on Friday (May 30) at Philadelphia's Tweeter Center, KISS 108's Kiss Concert 2003 on Saturday at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and New York station Z100's Zootopia 2003 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. OOPS she dyed it again. Britney Spears decided to bleach for the beach on holiday in the Bahamas. The singer, who had a spell as a brunette, showed off her latest colour at Paradise Island. But judging by the red face, it appears Britney forgot to pack the factor 10 for her trip. She spent the day on a yacht with friends and her minders, then went for a stroll on the sands. As she walked she swigged Coca-Cola, no doubt because Pepsi axed her from their ad campaigns. The singer, staying at the plush Atlantis resort, also revealed her latest tattoo. I spotted a mystery design on her foot, a week after she visited a New York parlour. An onlooker said: "Britney was just chilling out, she looked happy being blonde again." BritneySpears.org over the past 4 years has grown into one of the largest fan sites on the internet and in effort to make our visitors experience better, we have moved the site to it's own dedicated and hopefully faster web server. So now you will be able to enjoy your britneyspears.org experience faster. So for the next several days the site will work @ http://216.40.217.30 till the domain gets transferred by most likely Friday. Britney Is Not A Song Theif

Online reported that A federal judge has thrown out a copyright-infringement lawsuit against the popster brought by two Philly songwriters who accused the 21-year-old of ripping off their melody for the tune "What U See (Is What U Get)" off her smash 2000 release, Oops!…I Did It Again. U.S. District Judge Berle M. Schiller ruled that Spears' camp did not have access to the similarly titled song she's accused of swiping, "What You See Is What You Get," by plaintiffs Michael Cottrill and Lawrence Wnukowski, before she recorded her version. The duo's lawsuit, filed last June in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, claimed they had given an uncopyrighted instrumental version of their song to William Kahn, a talent scout who worked for the singer's camp. They say Kahn had in October 1999 requested tracks for consideration on her album. The judge, however, sided with Britney & Co. after hearing testimony from the four (count 'em four) songwriters credited for writing her track. Jorgen Elofsson, David Kreuger, Per Magnusson and Rami Yacoub testified they had never heard Cottrill and Wnukowski's melody until March 2003 and could not have plagiarized it, since they finished work on "What U See (Is What U Get)" in 1999. "As plaintiffs have not come forward with any affirmative evidence showing access, there is no reasonable possibility that the creators copied plaintiffs' song before November 1999, when the melody of defendants' song was completed," Schiller wrote in his opinion. And even if the pair could prove they had access, Schiller also pointed out that about the only thing the two songs had in common was the well-worn title, leaving any "reasonable juror" no choice but to find for the defendants. "The phrase is a cliché and can be found in prior art," Schiller wrote. "Additionally, the pitch series and opening rhythm of the lyric phrase are different in each of the songs." In reaching his conclusion, Schiller also referred to Cottrill's sworn deposition testimony in which he stated that he gave Kahn an instrumental version of "What You See Is What You Get" that had "nothing to technically do" with the track he and his cowriter eventually submitted for copyright protection with the U.S. Copyright Office in November 1999. thanks marisa for the news

Just before hitting the parlour, a bright pink bra could be seen peeking out of her top. But as she left the New York body art den, the sexy number had been taken off. Britney Caught Smoking - Again

KISS 108 reported that Britney Spears has sparked a new controversy about her smoking habit - after being caught puffing away on TV. The pop superstar attempted to hide her cigarette when she realized she was being filmed as she left a New York club Wednesday night, but fans couldn't miss what she was holding in her hands. Spears' publicists have refused to comment about the incident, which aired on news shows overnight. Also Britney is the special guest host for this year's KISS CONCERT 2003 @ the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on May 31st. Thanks Katie for the news.

Britney Sells Her Clothes For Charity

Britney Spears won't be ripping off her flesh-colored pants ever again. Nor will she don her green bra-and-miniskirt snake-trainer ensemble — and not just because wearing the same outfit in public is a celeb fashion faux pas. No, the singer is selling her clothes to the highest bidder in the name of charity, she announced Thursday (May 22). "They're kind of iconic or whatever," Spears said, "but it's not like I'm going to be wearing them anytime soon. And although I'm kind of sad about some of the pieces going, I know that the money we raise will have a huge payback." Taking a break from her recording schedule, the pop star cleaned out her closet, clearing out some 160 pieces of costumes and other memorabilia for an auction that kicked off Thursday, benefiting the Britney Spears Foundation, which funds a weeklong performance-arts camp for kids. "Financially, we didn't have that much at one point, but I could go to singing and dancing lessons," Spears said. "But there's some kids who don't have that. I just know that when I was younger I needed to express myself. It was like a spiritual, healing thing. And as far as camp goes, it's just a time for kids to go and just be creative and express themselves. I think that's important." Britney Having Fun In NY

NY Daily News reported that Britney Spears seems to be loving life as a New Yorker - but is she loving our nightlife a bit too much? The Louisiana-spiced pop princess' restaurant, Nyla, went bust; still, it hasn't stopped Spears from staying here to record her next album and get to know the locals. Yesterday, after having lunch with girlfriends at Tai on Mulberry St., she charmed the super from the building next door. When he brought his baby out, she bounced it on her knee, prompting one of her pals to tease, "You're getting maternal!" Not necessarily. Friday at the nightclub Show, she was enjoying her youth with a vengeance. According to a spy, two friends had to help the wobbly star to the bathroom, which a bodyguard discouraged other patrons from entering. A rep for Britney says she had been drinking, but not excessively. "Britney had a great time," says her spokeswoman. "Your eyewitness needs her eyes checked." Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst still hasn't gotten over his fling with Brit. In a replay of the Mariah Carey/Eminem voice-mail spat, Durst is accusing Britney of leaving weird messages on his answering machine. After Durst blabbed about Spears on the Howard Stern Show, he tells Rolling Stone, Brit called to say: " 'Fred, you better watch your back, because you are seriously [bleeped].' "It's so funny. I saved them all just in case I ever need them."

VH1 reported that at E3 last week, "American Idol" the video game was announced and is expected to hit stores this fall. Basically players control the characters' dance moves, and the more rhythmic the moves, the more in key the songs are then performed. Contestants can groove to 40 hits, including songs by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and 'NSYNC, all in the face of celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

Settlement Reached On Skechers

Pop diva Britney Spears and Skechers U.S.A. have settled mutual breach of contract lawsuits over an endorsement agreement Spears had with the footwear company, a Skechers spokeswoman says. The settlements were approved last week by a federal judge in Los Angeles but the terms were confidential, Jennifer Clay of Manhattan Beach, California, Skechers said on Tuesday. The singer's attorney could not be immediately reached for comment. Spears had filed a $1.5 million (930,000 pound) lawsuit against Skechers last December, claiming the company used her to plug its own design of roller skates instead of a line she designed as part of a 2001 endorsement deal. The contract, which was an expansion of a 2000 endorsement pact, included bonus royalty payments to Spears in the event that sales increased dramatically as a result of her plugs. She accomplished this in 2002 but was only partly compensated for her efforts, the lawsuit alleged. Spears' also had sought damages for the company's alleged failure to sponsor her concert tour as specified by the contract. The footwear company struck back in March with its own lawsuit, claiming that Spears cost it sales in 2002 by "unreasonably" delaying approval of product designs, manufacturers and advertisements for her Britney 4-Wheelers skating line. Skechers had asked a judge to nullify the contract, to order Spears to return her advances and to pay "reimbursement of millions of dollars in costs and ... damages in excess of $10 million." Britney's new choreographer Cris Judd?

Britney Spears is hooking up with J. Lo's ex and she wants you to watch. It's not as salacious as it sounds, but as the singer gets closer to finishing up her fourth album, she's also keeping an eye on how she's going to promote it. With a fall tour in mind, Spears is lining up her crew, dancers and, of course, that ever-essential choreographer. But after years of working with wunderkind Wade Robson, Spears is trading him in for the fancy footwork of Cris Judd, a source close to the singer told MTV News. Judd may be best known for his nine-month marriage to Jennifer Lopez, but he's got an impressive and lengthy dance résumé to boot, having worked with Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Usher and Brian Setzer. Spears' spokesperson would only say that they're "in talks" with Judd "about a variety of projects" and emphasized that nothing is confirmed. Rehearsals, our source said, start in June. Before I upload this, I just want to remind all the viewers that The Sun is the biggest selling tabloid in the UK. According to The Sun, Justin and Britney have agreed to record a duet trying to revive her career. Apparently, Britney wants the song on her next album. So Justin, who shares the same record label, has agreed to give her a much-needed boost. The pair are expected to go into a New York studio once the former NSYNC star’s tour is over.

$4 Million Home For Sale

According to TeenHollywood.com Britney has put up her $4 million Hollywood Hills home up for sale because she is searching for a new place. Britney and Justin purchased the 8,000 square feet home in 1997. The home has been subject to some dispute after Britney and Justin split on who should own the home. The five bedroom, 8,000-square-foot place comes complete with a guest house, pool and spa.

First Fred, then Colin, now Ashton Kutcher, from FOX hit 'That '70s Show' and MTV's Punk'd, is the latest to be rumored dating Britney Spears. According to TeenHollywood.com Britney has been spotted several times with Ashton Kutcher. 'Dude, Where's My Car?' star separated recently from his 'Just Married' costar Brittany Murphy. TeenHollywood.com reports: Britney and Colin more than just friends? Recent reports indicate that last week Britney visited Toronto, Canada's set for Colin's new movie, S.W.A.T. presume to visit Colin. The visit is refulling the reports of an unlikely romance between the pair. According to the Showbiz Ireland website, Farrell, 26, was told a special package was waiting for him in his trailer - and he should collect it as soon as possible.

Britney Spears proved she's the queen of pranks when she pulled a double 'punk' on MTV's hit practical joke show. The pop star first duped rapper Busta Rhymes into thinking she was considering a career as a rapper and then she joined master joker Ashton Kutcher to pull a prank on his crew in the finale of Punk'd, which aired in on Monday night. The prank, filmed at New York's Hudson Hotel last week, was only set up to help Kutcher's crew pull a joke on the host, but little did they know - Britney already had a long-standing agreement with her actor pal to make sure neither of them became the subject of a Punk'd joke. So when Britney told his crew she'd help them punk Kutcher, she merely only helped her pal to turn the gag on his pals. A furious Kutcher threatened to sack his entire crew after he was manhandled by a burly bouncer - as part of the gag set up for him - and Britney just stirred things up among his worried crewmates by telling them that her friend was really serious. A delighted Britney laughed and giggled as she plotted behind the scenes with Kutcher, prompting a proud Kutcher to exclaim, "I cannot be gotten," when he announced to his pals that his anger was just an act and he had no plans to axe a second series of the hit show, as he threatened. In the Studio

Summer is almost here. This is the best time of the year. The weather is great and school is almost out. Britney finally was able to go and enjoy her new condominium in Florida with some of her girlfriends. Despite the spring break craziness, it was a lot of fun being with friends. Britney is really excited about her next album. Everything has fallen into place, and the result is great - the music is fantastic! JamieLynn and I are so excited about one of the songs especially. She wrote this song last summer when we were with her in L.A. JamieLynn videotaped her final result as she played the song on the piano and sang. How do you like Brit's hair? We love it! Some of you must wonder why - it's simple. She was tired of the same look. Actually, I was the one complaining about having the same look. It is funny, because JamieLynn, myself, and Brit all have new do's now. A new look seems to give you extra spunk and energy. Try it! Britney's been working out. She went to a dance class taught by her old friend, Brittany Hastings. She said that it was a great workout in addition to her regular routine. I'm hoping to come to New York to see Bryan and Brit for my birthday. Yes, another one! They just seem to keep coming around. But with JamieLynn having so many ballgames, I'm not sure I'll be able to leave home. Look for VH1's “Top 200 Pop Icons” in May. Britney will be hosting it!

Hoax Concert Tickets?

There has been talks in the Britney community recently about the available concert tickets on sale on some ticket broker websites. Well, I did some looking and as of right now, those tickets aren't really real. Both venues, where the supposed concerts will take place do not list or acknowledge the concert as of right now. Sad to say, those available tickets don't look real right now, I wouldn't buy them yet.

From the new Entertainment Weekly Magazine: First look "Anyone can sit down and write some boring artistic song," says Britney Spears. "Pop music is the hardest sh-- to write." Which is what Britney's hard at work on her as-yet-untitled fourth album, due this fall. "The subjects are really out there. It's about general things that teenagers go through that are real but nobody talks about it." (Unlike her new hair color, which is the source of much debate.) "I really don't think that many people from my core audience will get it," she says of her new material-including one song in which she raps. Britney to Guest Host NY "Zootopia" Fest

Reuters is reporting that Britney has been confirmed to be a guest host to New York radio station Z100's annual Zootopia concert. The concert will be held Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on June 1. Ja Rule, Ashanti, Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, Wayne Wonder, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Daniel Bedingfield, JC Chasez, Ginuwine, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Third Eye Blind, and Jewel have been added as performers. Britney has made People's annual Most Beautiful List this year! There is a small article and a new photo included in it. The article says Britney's new album will be out in October. The magazine should be hitting newstands this week or already be there as this is posted. Check it out! Britney Spears singer Oh, to be rich, famous and 21. Young enough to try anything but old enough to not have to explain yourself. One day you can smooch Colin Farrell, the next you can attend the 22nd-birthday party of an old beau from a certain boy band. At the drop of a super-chic newsboy cap, you can chop off your blonde hair and dye it brown just to mix things up a little. You can spend one night in Vegas, betting thousands at the blackjack table, and another in New York City, crashing in your $3.8 million condo after a marathon of nightclub dancing. Of course, part of growing up is also learning to know your limits. "My No. 1 beauty secret is lots and lots of sleep," says Britney Spears. "Eight hours a night, and I'm a big believer in naps." Any difficulty with nodding off and she has a favorite remedy. "I wish I could stop eating so much ice cream," says Spears. "I'll stupidly wake up and eat it at night because it helps me sleep, but I need to stop doing that." Aside from scolding herself for her Cookies & Cream binges and neglecting to take her vitamins, the 5'4" Spears is making an effort to take good care of herself. "I'm trying to do my yoga, eat my veggies and drink lots of water," she says. Getting ready to release her fourth album in October, Spears also sticks to a routine of biweekly manicures and pedicures ("I usually go for baby pink") and goes through tube after tube of Kiehl's Lip Balm #1. "I probably like my lips most out of all my features," she says. "Every boyfriend I've had has complimented me on them."
