Lynne Spears: "They're A Good Fit"

Britney Spears says she's met her "prince" after kissing a "bunch of frogs." And her fiance, dancer Kevin Federline, says he's "known for a while that she's the one." In their first interview since their engagement, Spears, 22, and Federline, 26, gush to People senior editor Todd Gold about their whirlwind romance (they met in April), her five-carat diamond ring and their desire to have a big family (Spears wants four, maybe five kids). Is she rushing into things? "This is my life and I don't care what people think," she tells People. "I'm going to get married. I'm in love." Those rumors about a shotgun wedding? "I'm not pregnant," she says simply. Clearly, for Spears, love is the center of her life right now, perhaps even eclipsing her passion for music. The pop star, who in January had anulled a two-day marriage to a childhood friend, announced last week that she was engaged to Federline. Between the kissing, the hugging, the "oh, baby's" and even some lap-nestling, the couple recount Spears' marriage proposal aboard a plane heading to New York after her European tour ended. "We always talked about how some people don't have to get married when they're in love then all of a sudden I said, "what if you want to get married?" And I kind of went from there to asking him if he would marry me." Federline said no. "I was taken by surprise. I thought the guy was supposed to ask the girl. So a couple minutes went by and then I asked her." "My head was spinning," he says. "I'd known for a while that she's the one." Spears: "Oh, baby. Really?" Federline: "Yeah."(Kiss, kiss.) The couple won't divulge any wedding details, but Spears says she checked the Internet to find a wedding planner to start plans immediately. She picked out her ring — a five-carat diamond, set on twin diamond-encrusted bands — about a week ago. Spears has plenty of time to plan the big event. At least four months. That's how long Spears will be recovering from a June 8 knee injury, which meant she had to cancel the last leg of her Onyx Hotel tour. "I was ready for a break," she tells People. "It had been a great tour, but my head wasn't really into it." A greatest hits album is due Nov. 16. Federline has met Spears' mother, Lynne, and gets her blessing. "They're a good fit," she tells People. And Spears has met Federline's parents. The pop princess is looking forward to meeting Federline's 2-year-old daughter with actress Shar Jackson, who is expecting a second child next month. By the time he met Spears in April, Federline says, his relationship with Jackson "was already done. I love my children more than life itself. My kids will always be a part of my life." And it sounds as if kids will be part of the Spears/Federline family, too. "I'm not going to say if it'll be soon," says Federline. "We're starting with a dog," adds Spears. This time, she’s marrying for love, Britney Spears said of her recent engagement to dancer Kevin Federline. “Marrying Kevin was the last thing I was thinking about doing,” Spears tells People magazine in its July 12 issue. “But then I said, ‘You know what? This is my life and I don’t care what people think. I’m going to get married. I’m in love with him.”’ Spears, 22, and Federline, 26, began dating a few months ago, after her Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander in January. That marriage was annulled 55 hours later. Of the quickie Vegas ceremony, “That thing was a total ugh,” she says. “I was not in love at all.” This is different, says Spears, who’s wearing a five-carat diamond set atop two slender platinum, diamond-encrusted bands on her left finger. Federline popped the question on an airplane while flying with Spears from Ireland to New York after the European leg of her tour. “I’d known for a while that she’s the one,” he says. “I kissed a bunch of frogs and finally found my prince,” says Spears. “I feel like I’ve found my happily ever after.” Federline, who performed as a backup dancer for Justin Timberlake, Spears’ former boyfriend, previously was involved with Shar Jackson, star of TV’s “Moesha.” They have a 2-year-old daughter and are expecting another baby. “I plan to meet his daughter,” Spears says. “I love little ones. I think the situation is good.” The singer says she wants children of her own someday. “I’m not pregnant. (But) I definitely want to have some kids. From the next issue of People Magazine which I got my hands on. Britney Spears says her second marriage will be for love, unlike her first that lasted just over two days. That was to a pal in Las Vegas and was a bit of a joke, but this time Britney says she really is in love. Britney told a US magazine that her boyfriend Kevin Federline asked her to marry him while the pair were on a plane from Ireland to New York. She said she hadn't been thinking about getting married, but when she thought about it, decided to say yes. Britney and Kevin started going out a couple of months ago, after her brief marriage to childhood pal Jason Alexander. Britney told the magazine: "I kissed a bunch of frogs and finally found my prince, I feel like I've found my happily ever after." She also denied some rumours that she was pregnant, but did she wanted kids in the future.

Britney No Snub

Marriage, then a baby, now leaving the music industry...these are all the stupid rumors tabloids and other celebrity magazines are stating. Except the marriage, everything is still untrue. Britney's spokesperson and Jive both acknowledged that Britney is marrying Kevin Federline but where is the acknowledgement on the other rumors? So if we can all take a step back and realize that and then follow on knowing that, it would be a lot better. So everyone needs to just calm down and stop freaking out.

Britney Getting Married On Nov. 20th?

More marriage news from E!: No date was announced for the Spears-Federline nuptials. And, no, none for the dissolution, either. Star magazine claims the big to-do will go down Nov. 20 in front of 200 guests, five groomsmen and five bridesmaids in Los Angeles or Spears' native Louisiana. The marriage will be Spears' sorta-second. Her first ring exchange, with hometown pal Jason Alexander (news), then 22, while official, was a nonstarter. The union was deep-sixed just 55 hours after it began. The marriage also will be the first for Federline, 26, who, while a stranger to matrimony, is no stranger to other hallowed institutions, such as fatherhood. Federline has a two-year-old daughter with former Moesha (news - web sites) star Shar Jackson. The ex-couple is expecting their second child in July. The gracious Jackson has been quoted as declaring Federline and Spears are "made for each other." "You both smoke, you both drink and you both cheated on significant others after three years," Jackson told Us Weekly in April, apparently referencing herself and Spears' former beau, Justin Timberlake (news). Jackson issued just one ultimatum to the twosome: "There are two little kids--she [Spears] better be prepared to babysit." Reports that Federline popped the question to Spears surfaced last week. At the time, Spears' rep told the New York Post she didn't know if the buzz was so, but that the singer was "pretty lucky" to have Federline in her life. Spears' camp sounded the all-clear on the pending nuptials Friday. Spears and Federline became an item in April. Per USA Today, the two first met in 2000 when they were on the same tour--she was the headlining act; he was dancing in the opening act. In the small-world department, Federline hoofed it up as one of Timberlake's dancers at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.

Confirmed: Britney Is Engaged!

Reuters reported that Britney Spears is engaged to marry her dancer-boyfriend Kevin Federline, the singer's representatives said on Friday. News of the engagement was first reported by People magazine on its Web site, and was confirmed by Spears' personal publicist and her label, Jive Records. The engagement comes about six months after Spears was granted an annulment to dissolve her surprise two-day marriage in Las Vegas to a childhood friend.

Britney Sex Tape Hoax - Fake

Irish Examiner reported that Internet hoaxers are piling on the misery for ailing Britney Spears by claiming they have access to an illicit sex video featuring the pop star - and they want to sell it. The pop superstar's aides acted quickly to get the cyber sale posting removed from the site, insisting it's bogus - and there is no video. The posting - from an anonymous hoaxer - read: "I have a tape shot of me and Britney Spears and I was wondering if anyone in… LA would know who I could sell it to." A Britney source says: "Britney was appalled by the news that someone was hawking a phoney video of her having sex with a possible former lover. She knew the video was a sham, but it bothered her greatly."

Britney Giving Up On Kabbalah?

MSNBC reporting that Britney Spears may have given up on the healing powers of Kabbalah? The troubled singer recently has injured her knee, cancelled her concert tour, and was puppy-shopping with her mother when said Mom mowed down a cameraman, and sharp-eyed fans have noticed that she’s lately been trolling around without the signature red-string bracelet. “She has been spending a lot of time with her mother, and from what I hear her mother doesn’t approve, so that might have something to do with it,” says a source. “But from what I hear, she’s pretty hardcore, so I wouldn’t write her off as a Kabbalah devotee.” Spears' spokeswoman assures The Scoop that indeed, she’s still a student of Kabbalah. Another source points out that the string bracelet supposedly crumbles and falls off when it’s absorbed too much negative energy. “With what she’s been going through, maybe her bracelets keep crumbling.”

Britney's Fall: The Never-Before-Seen Footage

When Britney Spears fell down during a video shoot for "Outrageous" earlier this month, the impact was immediate. Her fall has set off a chain of events that's resulted in the cancellation of her summer tour — something insiders are estimating will cost her as much as $1 million a week in lost revenue from ticket and merchandise sales. But what of the fall itself? Still pictures from paparazzi showed a play-by-play of the incident but failed to capture the essence of the moment — the onset of injury, the expression on the singer's face, her puzzled dancers' reactions as they reached to give her a helping hand. However, MTV News has procured footage of the incident, which gives more of a sense of how sudden the injury was and how Spears reacted, through a local band shooting footage on the same street. Realizing that Spears was filming a music video two blocks away from where they share a house in the Woodside section of Queens, New York, the fledgling indie rock band Mo Matching Drapes grabbed a camera and took advantage of the unique situation, as well as the professional lighting, to have Britney seem to appear, however inadvertently, in their own video. "My girlfriend isn't going to go to Woodside, let alone someone famous," singer Chris Brunelle marveled about Britney's appearance in his 'hood. "We're nobody, and she's everybody." Spears seemed to welcome neighborhood fans shooting her scenes, waving and smiling to those who gathered to watch, cameras in hand, Brunelle said. His main goal was to stage the shot so that he could have Spears dancing in the background and then pull back to show his bandmate Paul Bates in the foreground, lip-synching to their song "Running Away," from their forthcoming second album, The Dangerous Friendly. Just as Spears continued to do takes of her dance scene, so did Brunelle and Bates. And when Brunelle yelled "Action!" for the last time, almost as if on cue, Spears turned and then fell, with an open-mouthed expression of surprise. From the footage, it appears that few seemed to understand the extent of her injury, until she was carried away by a bodyguard, unable to walk. While the tour has been canceled, there's no word yet if her video for "Outrageous" will be scrapped as well, or what would be required to salvage the footage already shot. Lynne Hurts Paparazzi while Britney Freaks out With New Puppy

Hehe, this is a fans story telling from the scenes of what happened in the pictures. Arrrrrghhh!! What a BAD way to start off a new week. These paparazzi's are like a damn plague! So Britney's injured, she cancelled her tour, she's probably not feeling well, she just wants to relax, the girl wants peace, quiet and happiness, what happens? The exact opposite! We go from HUGE smiles to totally breaking down in tears in a matter of 30 minutes. Here's what happened......Britney, Mom and Jamie Lynn go to the pet store to get a new puppy on Sunday (June 20th), they're all excited and happy and oouhhhh ahhh puppy, mushi mushi etc....while of course, during the whole time, Britney's being photographed by the paparazzi. They go outside, get into the SUV, and they get mobbed by the photographers, you with me? So....one of the dumb ****s decides he's gonna go for a money shot and gets SO close to the SUV that while Lynne drives off, she DRIVES over his foot!!! So yeah.....poor guy's laying on the floor in extreme pain.....well...yeah dumba$$, you asked for it. Britney freaks out..........police and ambulance come in incl. fire trucks. Lynne steps out of the car, has to show her driver's license, huge huge huge scene. Britney stays in the car while she has about 10 photographers hounding her, insulting her and screaming at her, it's 10 guys against one lady. Britney starts screaming at them and cursing and blah blah blah until she just explodes and begins to cry. There you go, yet ANOTHER day in the life of Britney. Seems like things are just getting worse and worse and I feel SO bad for what she had to go through yesterday with these imbeciles. By CuTiePie3094

Mom Spears Rides In Situation

Everyone gets into accidents even Britney's mom. Bombarded with paparazzi photographers Lynne, Britney, Jamie Lynne, Felicia, and other friends were in L.A hanging out. As they were trying to get back home, Lynne Spears hit or drove over one photographer’s foot. Police were called and fire department including an ambulance arrived, and looks like it cause the whole street to be blocked off. Here comes a huge lawsuit. Take a look for yourself.

Britney Spears topped the UK singles chart Sunday, just weeks after pulling out of a North American tour due to a knee injury. Spears knocked Mario Winans' "I Don't Want to Know" off the top spot with "Everytime," her second number one in Britain taken from her album "In the Zone." Spears, 22, had just completed a scene with rap star Snoop Dog for a video of her latest single "Outrageous" when she injured her knee, forcing her to pull out of the tour. NY Times had an interesting article that looked into the business impact of britney's knee injury. When a very athletic 22-year-old woman blows out her knee, it is usually a painful reminder to slow down, one that means a couple of months of inconvenience, couch time and clever wardrobe triage. When the 22-year-old is named Britney Spears, however, it means something altogether more consequential. It means, essentially, that a small multinational industry — her new tour — one that employs more than 100 full-time employees, rents whole hotel floors, keeps T-shirt makers working overtime and sometimes rakes in more than a $1 million a week, goes out of business in a matter of minutes. Ms. Spears, whose latest album, "In the Zone," made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard chart last fall, began the tour earlier this year and played dozens of shows in the United States, Europe and South America. But during the shooting of a video in Queens last week, she seriously re-injured her left knee. The injured knee had already forced her to reschedule two earlier shows. This time, though, there was no rescheduling. And so phones began ringing in theater offices around the country as summer-concert schedulers scrambled to find a way to fill their seats during their most lucrative season. "For other places it might not matter as much, but for us, a week and a half before our festival, it leaves us with a dark date," said Bob Babisch, the entertainment director for Summerfest in Milwaukee, where Ms. Spears was to play on July 1 as one of the biggest attractions of the 11-day festival and was expected to fill the 23,000 seats of the Marcus Amphitheater. "We had 48 hours to put a package together so we could sell tickets in enough time," said Mr. Babisch, who managed to sign up the Steve Miller Band and the Bodeans as a last-minute replacement. "You just can't have a big theater dark during a festival. It just won't work." He added, of Ms. Spear's cancellation, with a deadpan tone: "It keeps things interesting. I'll say that." He declined to say how much money he thought the festival would lose because of the cancellation, but added that unlike many other dates on Ms. Spears' tour, which is promoted by the radio giant Clear Channel Communications, Summerfest paid for the promotion and preparations for her appearance in Milwaukee. The tour had been one of the most successful of the year. According to Pollstar, a concert trade magazine, Ms. Spears was averaging $727,000 per city in ticket sales last week, with an average ticket price of $61, making it the seventh most lucrative tour monitored by the magazine. Britney Reportedly To Say 'I Do' Again

MSNBC reported that Britney Spears is going to take another walk down the aisle, according to a report in the New York Post. Boyfriend Kevin Federline proposed to the pop star and she reportedly accepted. Spears and Federline became an item two months ago when they were photographed and interviewed while canoodling on the beach in Santa Monica, Calif. The incident became instant gossip-page fodder, especially when it was revealed that Federline was expecting a baby with his then-girlfriend Shar Jackson. Federline and Jackson also have another child together. Spears and Federline have been constant companions since the beach incident. In January, Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander in what she called a joke gone too far. The marriage was annulled 36 hours after the Las Vegas ceremony. Spears was forced to cancel her summer tour Tuesday because of a knee injury she suffered last week during a video shoot with Snoop Dogg in New York for her new song “Outrageous.” Her knee gave out during the choreography and afterward she underwent arthroscopic surgery. As a result, she'll be wearing a hard brace for six weeks and will require at least two months of rehabilitation, according to a statement from her label, Jive Records.

Britney Spears' lawyer has been served with papers — six months after they were filed — for a pre-emptive lawsuit from a Utah drug company seeking relief from accusations that it tried to capitalize on the singer's reported use of the diet pill Zantrex-3. Basic Research claims it was ordered to stop citing an episode where Spears was seen spilling a bottle of the diet aid at London's Heathrow Airport, a fumble captured by photographers. The company claims it wasn't using the incident for its own benefit, and Basic Research is asking a federal judge to declare it has violated no law. [MTV News]

Charts and Analysis. Vol 1, Ed 3

Billboard Hot 200: In The Zone # 53 [ -10. ] Billboard Hot 100: Everytime # 17 [ +4. ] Top 40 Tracks: Everytime # 9 [ +0. ] CHR/POP: Everytime #6 [ +2. ] CHR/POP: Toxic # 30 [ -6, recurrent. ] Album: [ In The Zone. ] To be #53 after 30 weeks on the charts is quite impressive. With constant debuts, In The Zone has held strong. Despite no increase in sales, Everytime has helped to steady the album as it has not fluctuated higher or lower, accomplishing its minimal goal. At this point, we should be nearing 2.7 million albums sold. With " Outrageous " following and the publicity that Catwoman will garner the album should be able to bring Britney to around 2.9 million before " Boom Boom " is released. Once " Boom Boom " is released, the album should probably settle near 3.5 million before it's end -- placing it in the projected Timberlake / Beyonce / Aguilera range, as all three pop powerhouses had albums in the 3 million range. Billboards: [ Everytime. ] What a great week! Pushing into the Top 20 to # 17, Everytime has a bright future! Music is being bombarded with the same 6 or so songs [ Yeah, This Love, Naughty Girl, etc. ] and all of these songs collectively are declining. And for like two weeks now, Britney had been stuck behind "Roses" and "Yeah" on the CHR/POP and has just recently pushed past. With weak songs ahead of her, and the declining rate of these songs to quicken while Britney slowly improves -- Everytime's chance for Top 10 is more than visible. Behind Kanye West with "Jesus Walks" at #16, Britney should be able to push to # 14 for next week, leaving her in great position for the gladiators of music to fall behind her. With that, she can surge to the Top 10. Remember, buy the single! Buying the single helps the Billboard ranking and lets face it, I've heard some of the remixes on the single and they're awesome. Toxic only made it to # 9. Let's make Everytime beat Toxic! CHR/POP [ Everytime / Toxic / Outrageous. ] Everytime has surged past "Roses" and "Yeah" to slide into the # 6 position. Everytime, as of right now, is the highest ranked song to be showing a positive increase. The songs above her are very close to her, and because they are declining, by this week's time next week -- Britney should be # 3. With no new music, Everytime has received heavy airtime for it being one of the newest songs that people actually like. If any other time, I don't think it would be receiving this much airplay -- but lets take the opportunity when its granted. As for Toxic, it is still a recurrent and is placed at # 30 -- although not really ranked. By using Toxic's airplay and placing the recurrent back upon the chart, she comes in at # 30. Considering the song last saw an increase in March, to be at #30 in June -- great. Outrageous has also received some airplay increase. Although only on a mere 6 or so stations because it's not officially out yet, it has received heavy airtime in Miami, LA, Long Island, and NYC. When other stations finally get it, watch out. Top 40 [ Everytime. ] Britney was unable to push past anyone this week, but behind "Confessions Part II", is one of the few songs to show an increase. By next week's time, similar to the CHR/POP, Britney should be able to push further in the Top 10. Buy the single and vote on TRL! Recorded and listed by [Paul]

Ticketmaster: How Your Tickets Will Be Refunded

Many people have e-mailed wondering how they will recieve their refund for the tickets they purchased for the summer tour. Here's how to get your money back: Ticketmaster stated that to get your refund on your tickets you can either go back to the place where you purchased them for a full refund or they will automatically be credited on your credit card if you purchased them online. It will take up to two weeks to be credited back to your credit card.

The Onyx Hotel Tour which was scheduled to begin on June 22nd in Hartford, CT and end in Bakersfield, CA on August 15th is cancelled. Britney Spears hopes to revisit those cities in the future. The surgery was necessary to repair severe damage caused to the singer's leg by the incident. Ms. Spears will be immobile for 6 weeks, with her knee in a hard brace. This will be followed by a minimum of 8-12 weeks of rehabilitation. The Onyx Hotel Tour which was scheduled to begin on June 22nd in Hartford, CT and end in Bakersfield, CA on August 15th is cancelled. Britney Spears hopes to revisit those cities in the future. Britney Sets Sail To The Caribbean

Britney Spears is reportedly set to retire to the Caribbean - in a bid for a "stress-free" life. The pop princess, who recently injured her knee after a fall on her latest video shoot, has already splashed out on a luxurious apartment on the tropical island of St Barts, and friends now believe she is ready to give up her career - at the age of 22. A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "People forget that she has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years already. Now she could give it all up for good. The fame is really taking its toll. She needs a bolthole away from everywhere to re-start her life and forget about the pressure." Britney Spears is a new crossover artist in the beauty business. The 22-year-old singer will launch a new fragrance, Curious, this fall. A blend of white flowers and vanilla-infused musk, the fragrance is part of a licensing agreement with Elizabeth Arden. Packaging for Curious will feature two of Spears' favorite colors, pink and azure blue, and the bottle will be azure with heart-shaped charms. A scented whipped body cream, shower gel and solid "shimmer stick" will debut in department stores in September. This fall, department stores are going to get a dash of Britney Spears’ sex appeal. And she’s no virgin when it comes to striking while the iron is hot, unleashing her first fragrance a mere three months after inking a deal with Elizabeth Arden. While the pop princess was sidelined with a knee injury, her fragrance team was out in full force at the Four Seasons Hotel Thursday morning, presenting Curious Britney Spears, the songstress’ first scent — first to the beauty press at breakfast, and then to a lineup of department store retailers at lunch. Arden chief executive Scott Beattie, executive vice president of global marketing Ron Rolleston and vice president of global marketing for fragrance Tamara Steele, among others, were on hand to present the strategy for the new fragrance, which industry sources estimate could do $40 million to $50 million at retail in the U.S. alone in its first year on counter. The scent will roll out in Arden’s U.S. prestige department store lineup — currently about 2,000 doors — as well as Australia, a huge Spears market, in late September, and to the rest of the globe next spring. Curious Britney Spears is expected to be the first in a Spears series. Arden will also distribute the scent to some prestige department stores that do not currently carry Elizabeth Arden-branded products, including Nordstrom. As reported first by WWD at the beginning of March, color cosmetics and skin care with Spears’ nameplate are expected to follow within the next two years. Spears joins two other famous faces working for Beattie: Catherine Zeta-Jones, the face of the Elizabeth Arden brand, and Elizabeth Taylor, who oversees the fragrances branded with her name. The age target for Spears’ fragrance — 15 to 30 — is a younger demographic than those targeted by Taylor and Zeta-Jones. “There is clearly a huge demand by retailers and consumers for brands that are relevant to consumers in the 15- to 30-year-old age group,” said Beattie, adding that he is open to signing additional celebrities to deals. Rolleston added that the team has a number of initiatives in place for Curious Britney Spears to help drive new consumers into department stores — including one where women representing the fragrance will be sampling the scent to consumers strolling in the mall. Awareness campaigns through cell phone text messages and the Internet — on both Spears’ and Arden’s Web sites — are planned, with a bounce-back via area and zip code to the appropriate retailer in the consumer’s area. Another planned initiative includes partnering with Spears’ record company. “We needed new ways of talking to consumers,” Beattie said. While Arden operates in both the prestige and mass ends of the beauty business, Beattie emphasized that Curious Britney Spears has, from its inception, always been planned as a prestige product, particularly designed to draw a young clientele into the stores. Pricing is at the moderate end of the prestige spectrum, aimed at giving access to as many Spears fans as possible. Eaux de parfum will be available in two sizes, 1.7 oz. for $39.50 and 3.3 oz. for $49.50. The Curious Britney Spears bottle is of azure blue multifaceted glass topped with pink heart-shaped charms. The larger of the two eaux de parfum is topped by an antique-looking blue atomizer, which Spears felt gave the packaging a little added sophistication, said Beattie. Outer packaging is of Spears’ two favorite colors, pink and azure blue, with a matte black top with cutouts exposing the fragrance’s logo. When the box is opened, it expands like a flower, exposing the bottle and the pink lining of the carton inside. Also expected to appeal to youthful consumers: ancillaries that explore, well, the more adventurous side of Spears’ persona. They are Deliciously Whipped! Body Soufflé, 6.8 oz. for $24; Lather Me Up! Shower Gel, 6.8 oz. for $20, and Write On! Perfumed Shimmer Stick, 0.5 oz. for $20. Fragrance salespeople will reinforce the saucy names in-store, with plans for them to wear Deliciously Whipped! T-shirts while selling the products. The juice, by Claude Dir of Quest International and Ann Gottlieb of Ann Gottlieb Associates, has topnotes of Louisiana magnolia, a nod to Spears’ home state, along with golden Anjou pear and dewy lotus flower. The heart is of tuberose, star jasmine and pink cyclamen, while the drydown is of vanilla musk, creamy sandalwood and radiant blond woods. While executives from the company have declined repeatedly since the deal’s announcement to comment on the details of Spears’ contract, industry sources speculate that it is a five-year, royalty-based deal that could net Spears a minimum of $10 million — and as much as $30 million — over the next five years. It is thought that Spears will receive a 5 percent royalty. In addition to a yet-to-be revealed print advertising campaign, breaking in September, Arden plans TV advertising, both at launch and around the holidays. The print ad was shot by Patrick Demarchelier; the TV ad has not yet been done. It is likely that the spots will showcase Spears’ singing and dancing prowess. Beattie also noted that there are plans in play for Spears to do personal appearances this fall to promote the scent, although a final schedule has not been determined. Recovery Time Still Uncertain

There's still no official word on how long Britney Spears will be sidelined because of the knee injury she suffered Tuesday, but an expert on knee surgery said Spears would do well to give her joint a rest for several weeks. According to Dr. Eli Bryk, chairman of orthopedic surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York, the best-case scenario is that Spears would only need two to three weeks after surgery — which took place late Tuesday night — before she can dance again. In the worst-case scenario she'd need six weeks. Spears is scheduled to resume her North American tour on June 22. "It's highly unlikely that in 11 or 12 days she'd be able to resume dancing," Bryk said. "At least, not the kind of athletic dancing she does." The procedure is usually performed as elective surgery on an outpatient basis and is rarely considered a major operation. There are a number of different types of arthroscopic surgeries to correct floating cartilage, depending on whether doctors decide to remove or repair the problem, Bryk said. "In her case, it was an acute onset and obviously very painful," Bryk said, "so she probably has swelling and pain and may have had locking in the knee joint. She probably couldn't extend her knee, probably couldn't walk." Bryk said that her doctors should advise her to keep weight off the knee, even if she's able to walk. Prescription painkillers and physical therapy would also be in order. If Spears tries to dance, he would recommend that she ice her knee before and after — just like athletes who've been injured. "The muscles become very weak after this surgery," he said. "The knee joint becomes very stiff. She might need a brace or some extra support. NC. ] CHR/POP: Toxic [ #24, recurrent. ] In The Zone: The album has struggled in our Britney standards, and MATM is truly the cause. The album flustered in its opening weeks and although the sales say otherwise, it's truly just because of the publicity blitz and Madonna. In musical terms, however, and quite possibly sales terms, if Toxic had been released as the opening single -- I am sure the album would have seen impressively higher sales revenue. Besides this fact, the album has continued its steady pace on the charts as two singles in a row now have hit their target audiences strong. With "Everytime" being the rebound off the top pop song of the year [ the other hits that have been huge this year, like " Yeah! " are not pop, so Toxic, in our minds at least, is the best. ], In The Zone has holds strong at # 43. I do fear, however, the album's immediate slump if Outrageous does not catch on. In comparison to other songs on the album, Outrageous does not offer something for the listener to cling to; Everytime offers the sultry Spears in desperation while Toxic offers intensely addicting sounds and lyrics. However, coinciding with the release of Catwoman and being the featured track, sales may do other one of two things: slump incredibly, or increase slightly. When "Boom Boom" is released, however, the album will attract a new audience, and will definitely make up for Outrageous' slack. Everytime: Surprisingly contrary to last week's analysis, Everytime has proven me wrong, booming this week from its slump from last week. With weak music and no true new material, Britney may find the "Usher Theory" come in handy. When I say this, I mean, having two strong singles out at the same time -- as I heard Outrageous 3 times on the radio yesterday and on the CHR/POP, it is being played immensely in other cities like Miami and LA. [ I am in NYC. ] Back to Everytime. The single is out! Everyone needs to go buy it, seriously! Buying the single improves Everytime's ranking on the Billboards. At this pace and due to steep R&B competition laying ahead, Everytime will barely make it to #15. If sales surge, we could see Top 10. Everyone go buy it! Everytime pushed two spots this week, to get to # 21. With the combination of songs ahead of her slumping off, [ "Happy People", "My Immortal" ] and the single officially being out, we might see a surge next week. On the Top 40 Chart, [ you know, that show that is on every Sunday morning on your radio with Seacrest? ] Britney moved to #9, and will probably see a move of 4 spots next week due to weaker songs. Toxic: Explaining the recurrent. Recurrent means it has been out for long period time without showing improvement in hits. Toxic has steadily decreased and even three months after it's peak, Toxic is still in the Top 30. Impressive indeed. Outrageous: Yes, as said, I heard Outrageous 3 times on the radio yesterday -- and it was # 10 on the Requested Countdown with Carson, and # 9 on the Top 9 at 9 -- if the two singles can hit it big together: watch out. Britney Tired, But Keeps Working

In Touch Magazine report that Britney was tired when she came back from the European tour but still shot the music video for the "Outrageous" because of contractual duties because it was going to be the official song for the movie "Catwomen." The concept or plot of the music video was that Britney was being mugged in New York and that Catwomen comes and saves her. On the set, the concret pavement was watered down to give it a special effect look when she slipped and smashed her knee on the ground. On a side note, Britney's mother, Lynne Spears, looks like was at the set of the music video and was there with Britney when she slipped and had to have surgery.

Tour Plans Will Not Stop

Looks like Britney is a trooper, all tour dates will stay as scheduled, meaning no concerts will be canceled because of the knee surgery, however, some dates might be moved around to accommodate Britney's scheduled. This is opposite to what the arthroscopic surgen said, because he stated that the tour could be changed due to recovery time. We just learned this, but don't have solid sources on this yet.

Britney Goes Under Knife

Online reported that Britney Spears who has missed tour dates this spring due to a bum knee and an unspecified illness, was on the disabled list again after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday in New York. It appeared as if the knee that went under the knife was the same one that buckled under Spears during a dance routine March 18 on stage in Moline, Illinois. To Reuters, a spokesman referred to the current problem as being the result of "an old dance injury." Per a statement from Jive Records, Spears' most recent mishap occurred precisely at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday as she did her thing, for the purposes of a music-video shoot, under the tracks of the L train in the picturesque New York City borough of Queens. "She was immediately taken to a local hospital where she received an MRI scan. It was discovered by the doctors on call that she has floating cartilage in her knee," the singer's record label said. The statement did not say--and a message left with Spears' Jive rep was not returned Wednesday--how long, if at all, the "Oops" singer will be laid up. Tuesday's injury came as Spears lent her lip-synching expertise to a video for "Outrageous," the upcoming fourth single off her In the Zone album. Per Jive, she went weak in the knee right after completing a scene with ladies-of-the-night-man Snoop Dogg.

Britney Spears injured her knee while filming a video on Tuesday night, delaying the shoot and complicating her forthcoming tour. Spears was in Queens, New York, shooting a video for her next single, "Outrageous," the theme to the upcoming "Catwoman" movie, and had just completed scenes with guest star Snoop Dogg when she injured her knee around 11:30 p.m. While doing some choreography, her knee gave out and she crashed to the ground. Spears was rushed to a hospital, where she received an MRI scan. Doctors determined that the singer had floating cartilage in her knee, and she underwent arthroscopic surgery, according to her spokesperson. There's no word yet what type of rehabilitation Spears will require for the injury, how long it will delay the completion of the video shoot, or how it will impact the resumption of her North American tour, which is scheduled to begin June 22 in Hartford, Connecticut. The common prognosis for recovery from surgical arthroscopy is a two-to-three-week recovery, but obviously that prognosis does not take into account the kind of dancing Spears' live set requires. Breaking News: Britney Injures Knee

Reports are coming in from all places, but last night around 11:30 p.m., Britney's knee gave out while on the set of her new music video for "Outrageous." The shoot was taking place in Queens, NY where Britney was doing choreography under the L train line on Roosevelt Avenue after she completed shooting scenes with Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg is the special star who will be in the music video. Witnesses say Britney's bodyguard took Britney to an awaiting car that took her to the hospital, but we know for sure that was immediately taken to a local hospital where she received a MRI scan by doctors which showed floating cartilage in her knee. Britney is currently undergoing arthroscopic surgery for the knee. On the right, the picture of the accident, it shows Britney on the ground which looks like she is grabbing her left knee, while dancers hover over her to make sure she is all right. The most important thing right now is that Britney is safe and she heels completely. With that said, we need to know which knee gave out because during Britney's second music video, "Sometimes," she also twisted her knee, which needed surgery to remove floating cartilage. In addition, Britney also had knee/ankle problems where she had to cancel the Chicago, IL concert on March 19 because of the injury she received during the Onyx Hotel Tour at Mark of the Quad Cities in Moline, IL on March 18. There is no word if the injury is serious or not, and right now it is unclear how this injury will affect the rest of the tour.

Concert Cancellations Happening To All Artists

Britney isn't the only one that is canceling concerts, well not anyway. Ticket sales are incredibly low this year and many artists are choosing there dates carefully. The Onyx Hotel Tour was huge this year, covering a lot of cities and many of them are repeats like in Chicago and venues in California. Many venues are offering 2 for 1 tickets sales for some nights while other artists are selling tickets at a low rate. Palm Beach Post are reporting the July 27 cancelation of the Onyx Hotel Tour in West Palm Beach, Florida. There is no word why the concert is canceled, all we can suspect is low ticket sales that are happening to all artists this year. However, concerts on July 22 and July 24 in Virginia Beach and Tampa are still on so rumors of the cancelation of concerts are due to Britney wanting to cancel the tour cannot be true. Palm Beach Post also report: "With Jessica Simpson's show coming this Saturday, Sound Advice offered two-for-one lawn tickets last Friday only. Tickets were only $21 to start. And lawn tickets for Kiss with Poison on July 30 are just $20." Maybe, Jive and Britney's people shouldn't have made the tickets so steap...?

This was sent to me on June 3rd, the concert in question was on June 2nd. Hello, below you can find a review of lastnight's Britney concert in Dublin - this was slightly different from the one I saw on TV so you might want to post about it. Last night I headed to the Point Depot in Dublin (Ireland) for Britney's concert. The doors opened at 7pm and the show was scheduled to start at 8pm. We stood in sweltering heat and finally the opening act - Avril Lavigne wanna be - Skye (something) - arrived on stage and performed about 7 songs. The music was extremely loud and it was hard to hear her singing over it. When she left we were left waiting for almost an hour for Britney to come out which was a good while after 9pm. The crowd were wild when we first saw her - it was amazing! She did the exact same thing as she did in the Miami concert (which I saw on TV). For Everytime, when they were showing the clip where she's walking through a nature scene and arrives at the piano, the crowd started singing along to the song which was really good and atmospheric. Meanwhile, Britney was sitting at the piano on stage but no one could see her. Then she said something link, "Wow, you're really good at singing my song ... The next song I'm going to play is one of my favourite off the album - but I guess you already know, it's Everytime. It was good singing - from what we could hear - but over the poor sound quality, and the screaming and cheering of the crowd - no one even noticed the few variations she added to the song. Everything from then on was pretty much the same as the Miami concert apart from Shadow where at the Miami concert two people start rolling around in the ropes hanging down from the ceiling, while this time one person did impressive... well ballet. Then for (I Got That) Boom Boom, for the part where she is waiting for "The Ying Yang twins" bit to end near the end of the song and she's making fun of how long it is, she stands there laughing and smiling at the crowd and drinks some water. Then her dancer who looks Asian, and wears shiny clothes blue with gold shapes on it throws the water onto the crowd - highly amusing! (By the way I was up pretty close, so it was SO cool!) That's basically everything that happened. All in all she SEEMED pretty happy. Another thing, when she came up close you could kindof see near her chin some small spots - but they were small and she's still really, REALLY pretty! Also I'm not really sure which songs she mimed (or "lipped" as [I think] Americans call it) because the sound quality (volume was excellent though - I went home with my ears ringing) wasn't too good, but I'm pretty sure she didn't mime Everytime cos she kindof laughed into the microfone. VERDICT: The best day of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: I read that she wasn't going to kiss the guy to be loyal to Kevin but she did! Britney and the Charts. Vol 1, Ed. 1. Overall: Hot 100 : Everytime # 23 ( +3. ) Hot 200 : In The Zone # 46 ( -6. ) Top 40 : Everytime # 12 ( +1. ) Dance Radio : Toxic # 10 ( +2. ) CHR/POP : Everytime #8 ( +3. ) Analysis: Let's face it. Coming off the highly successful single of Toxic, we all had high hopes for Everytime and as of now, they are not succeeding as well, but they are succeeding. Everytime is one of a few new songs, if anyone has taken notice. There a few hot songs out there right now, when compared to other times -- there are tons. Capitalizing on this, Britney has seen Everytime push impressively quickly into the Top 10 on the CHR POP, for us Britney fans - the chart that really matters. Competing with Outkast's Roses - Everytime is a strong single, and a nice change of pace for the common listener. As for the album, to be in the top 50 after 30 weeks out on the market is quite impressive, although not to our Britney standards - but it is definitely impressive. This is the time where Britney can pick up some " In The Zone " ground on the 3rd album, " Britney " as we do not want to see the album fall below 4.8million and continue the trend of Britney albums falling below the previous. At this rate, however, Britney will definitely surge past "Stripped" by Aguilera near Christmas time. If "Outrageous" and "Boom Boom" catch on in their respective order, Britney easily has 3x Platinum, but maybe even 4x. Billboards: Everytime's rise on the Billboards was slow, as R&B songs ( because of more outlets ) pushed further, but if Everytime gets played on Contemporary stations ( like Lite-FM ), we could see a Top 10 showing for Britney due to weak competition at this point. Toxic reached #9 at its peak, and during that time, hot music was all around ( "My Immortal", "This Love", "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" ). At this pace, Britney will definitely surge into the Top 15 of the Billboards at its peak before it begins to die out. Single: The Everytime single is out! On the Billboards, it eithers give you a code or says "ALBUM CUT". If "ALBUM CUT", their is no such thing as a single, but Everytime has a code! I have yet to see it and thought it would only be released outside the US, but apparently, it's within the US! Go out and buy it, seriously! At most it's like 7 dollars and it helps Everytime on the Billboards, lets bring her into the TOP 10! Compiled and written by Paul

Britney & Bf Get New Tattoos

Britney and boyfriend Kevin yesterday got a tattoo on the wrists, to remind the of Ireland, in Bray Co. Wicklow, Ireland in a tattoo parlour that opened specially for them at 5pm and they stayed there for 2 hours, and were - according to the owner - very friendly and funny. Also Brit went to major Dublin fashion shop - "Brown Thomas" last night at about 7 and she spent 15,000 euro on mostly underwear. She waved to some of the 200 fans that were waiting outside the shop window. Today she has gone to Lisbon to do a show there and will return to Dublin later for her last Ireland concert. She's up for Choice Female Hottie, Choice Love Song: "Everytime", Choice Female Artist, Choice Single "Toxic", Choice Tour of the Year, and Choice Music Hook up for "Me Against The Music" featuring Madonna.

Britney's Next Single: Outrageous

Britney Spears should keep her infamous black catsuit handy. Though the concept for the video remains to be determined, the singer's next single is going to be featured in the upcoming movie "Catwoman." After wrapping up her current European tour on Sunday in Dublin, Ireland, Spears will return Stateside next week for a short break before resuming her North American tour dates, starting June 22 in Hartford, Connecticut. During that time off, she'll shoot her next video, for the R. Kelly-produced track "Outrageous," off her double-platinum album In the Zone. Video director Dave Meyers, who last teamed up with Spears for "Toxic," signed on over the weekend to helm the clip, which is slated to premiere on MTV on June 28. The track will be serviced to radio the following day. Meanwhile, Spears' skintight clothes won't be in her wardrobe if she makes it to China on a possible tour of Asia next year. China's Culture Ministry has approved the singer's appearance in its country, according to the official China News Service, but officials want veto power over her outfits and stage show, to make sure that it's not too risqué. Want Enqianq, an agent for Chinese promoter Beijing Poly Culture and Art Co. Ltd., told CNS that Spears would perform five concerts in Shanghai and Beijing sometime in the next year. Rock In Rio

The Rock in Rio Festival will be broadcast on CBS in the United States. However, from the over 40 television channel who will air the festival, only SIC Radical in Portugal will be showing the whole six-day concert festival. All the other channels will show highlights of the festival. Britney is set to perform the full Onyx concert this Saturday, June 5. There is a list of channels all over the world who will preview the festival. China to Britney: Come perform but leave the revealing outfits at home. Britney Spears' first China tour has been approved by the Culture Ministry, but they want to know what she's wearing before she hits the stage, the official China News Service reported Tuesday. Spears, who is currently on a world tour to promote her latest album "In The Zone," will perform five concerts in Shanghai and Beijing sometime next year, CNS said. Wang Enqiang, an agent for Spears' Chinese promoter, Beijing Poly Culture and Art Co. Ltd., said the star planned to come to the mainland in 2004, but he had no information about ministry concerns. However, the star's sexy image has caused concern. Culture officials have asked the concert's Chinese organizers to guarantee she doesn't show too much skin on stage, CNS said. "Relevant departments will carry out strict reviews of Britney Spears' performance clothing," the report said. It wasn't clear what standards inspectors will use or how they would be enforced. A spokesman for Spears could not be immediately reached. The head of the Culture Ministry's performance division, Pan Yan, said she hadn't received a performance application and couldn't comment on the report. An unidentified spokesman for the concert's Chinese organizers was quoted by CNS as saying the ministry's wishes would be respected. But he said Spears' outfits and stage show are the same on each stop of the tour and it would be "impossible to make up clothes specially for the China performances." Jackson Ask Friends to Taunt Britney

The jilted ex of Britney Spears' boyfriend has urged pals to launch a bitter assault on the pop beauty - because she's too busy to do it herself. Britney started dating dancer Kevin Federline last month (MAY04), but furious actress Shar Jackson - who is the mother of his two-year-old daughter and is currently pregnant with his second child - is determined to enact her revenge on the singer. However, Jackson has asked friends to hound the Toxic star with vicious cellphone text messages on her behalf - because she's too weighed down with the demands of motherhood. A source tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "Shar is extremely irritated because she's so busy and worn out looking after the daughter she already has with Kevin. She sees snaps of Britney and Kevin looking loved-up and is bound to feel fed up. "Obviously carrying his child doesn't help, but she feels angry rather than betrayed.
