Britney Went To P Diddy's Party
dotmusic reported that P Diddy held the greatest party of all time last night following the MTV Video Awards, which featured an exclusive guest list, who were forced to obey an incredibly stringent dress code.

Around 1,500 people were believed to have attended the party at Manhattan's Cipriani restaurant, including Britney Spears, Mike Myers, Justin Timberlake and the entire Osbourne family.

All those in attendance were told to wear top designer labels, with men informed they must have their hair cut and be clean-shaven.

The invitations insists: If your shoes are scuffed you're going to have a problem. If you're wearing jeans you're on the wrong track. Pull out the flyest shirt in your closet, or have your stylist pull something on for you.

Remember, you have been selected. It's an honour to be part of history in the making.

Guests who made it to the party are reported to have been presented with gift packages containing thousands of pounds worth of free items.

Britney Booed At The MTV VMA
The Sun Newspaper reported that Britney Spears was booed at the MTV Video Music Awards after ignoring her fans AGAIN.

The fading star tried to shrug off cat calls as she trotted up the red carpet before the bash in New York.

But angry fans who had waited for hours to catch a glimpse of their heroes made their feelings clear.

The jeers were a painful reminder of the heckling Britney received in London in March after ignoring crowds at the premier of her flop debut movie Crossroads.

The singer wore a dodgy black leather bondage-style dress and peaked cap for the awards, presented at the famous Radio City Music Hall.



Flanked by security guards, she stopped to pose for TV cameras and photographers, then strutted past the fans who have supported her and bought her records without a glance.

Nicola Holdsworth, 15, from Barking, Essex, had made the journey to New York and waited in the rain to see the stars arriving.

She was left stunned by Britney’s snub and said: “She just ignored us. I feel cheated. I’m soaking wet. All we expected was a bit of recognition. She shouldn’t forget who put her where she is today.

“Her dress was awful as well, I don’t know where she dreamed that up.”

Who Is Britney Sitting Next To At The VMA?
From what I have gathered from our forums, during this year's MTV Video Music Awards the seating arrangement around Britney will be Britney's guest, Britney, P. Diddy and Mike Myers.

I guess we will just have to wait till tonight @ 8PM, be sure to catch 2002 MTV Video Music Awards to watch Britney present the award for Viewer's Choice Award along with Theresa and Tracie (Last Fans Standing).

Britney Past Her Peak?
USA TODAY had an interesting article that questioned Britney's future. It seems to be a real hot topic right now as she is taking 6 months off right now. Here is the article:

When the most famous female singer to emerge in the past five years sashays down the red carpet at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards gala, she will be marking her last public appearance until . . . well, she's not sure when.

Scheduled presenter Britney Spears announced recently that she is embarking on a professional hiatus. ''I need this break to rejuvenate spiritually and to just play,'' she told People.

And who could blame her? At 20, Spears has sold more than 46 million albums worldwide and has emerged as one of the nation's most ubiquitous pop icons. Her toned midriff and aggressively produced, effects-laden chirping have launched a string of unavoidable videos, tours and ad campaigns for everything from milk to Pepsi. Her extracurricular ambitions were evidenced in the past year by a feature film, Crossroads, and a new Manhattan eatery called Nyla.

Significantly, though, neither the movie nor the restaurant inspired the kind of rapt attention that some had expected.

Good Bye From A Britney Fan
To The BS.org Visitors:

Hey! This is Al, many of you know me as ABazz27. As you probably figured out from the title of this news item, I am saying good bye to BritneySpears.org. After giving it some hard thought, consideration and speaking with Rajiv, the webmaster of the site, I have decided to leave my position as Co-Webmaster of BritneySpears.org.

It has been very nice enlightening and enjoying experience working on the site and meeting so many new Britney fans. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your help. Well, I want to keep this short, but I am still a Britney fan, and I know I always will be. But, there comes a time where you have to put your priorities in order and with college, work and just life in general, right now I can’t fit working on the site into the mix anymore. You'll still see me post a news item here and there and maybe I’ll be back 100% in the future, but for now I will be stepping down.

I also want to give a special thanks to a few people. First there is Bernie, the webmaster of AnticipatingBritney.com. He has been a big help with his opinions and knowledge of Britney and other fan sites. Then there are all of the fans that have e-mailed me over time, thank you for all of the help!!! Britney Still Wears Ring From Justin
Soundbuzz.com reported that Britney Spears has again taken to wearing the ring given to her by ex-love Justin Timberlake, after originally discarding it. The sexy singer, who split with the 'N Sync star earlier this year, was spotted wearing the highly symbolic band at the Teen Choice Awards at the start of the month in America.

After originally removing the U.S $150,000 diamond ring following the split, Britney chose to wear it once more when she knew her ex-boyfriend would see it, as Justin was a presenter at the bash.

The news follows comments by rapper Nelly, who has worked closely with Timberlake, that "one thing's for sure, Britney is J's girl, no matter what the tabloids say".

On the other hand if someone bought you a ring worth almost $300,000 dollars wouldn't you wear it? After all, diamonds are a girls best friend, and whereas heartbreak will come and go, rocks like that are definitely forever.

Last week, one hundred thirty very talented campers ranging in age from 11-15 attended Britney’s Camp for the Performing Arts she holds annually in Cape Cod. Many of Britney’s acting, singing, and dance coaches were there as well as her childhood dance partner, Brittany Hastings. Brittany taught the master hip-hop class. The Blair Witch Project filmmakers worked diligently all week to put together a documentary on the camp. The culminating video, done by the kids, proved that their teaching efforts were successful.

Steven Tyler’s daughter Chelsea gave a great performance on harmonica in the “Down Home Blues” number. Her dad was visiting the camp with his family, and later performed for the excited campers. He’s the best! It was a great week and hopefully a very inspiring one to everyone.

Life has slowed down somewhat for the Spears family. A routine does make it simple. This week Brit will be preparing for the MTV Video Music Awards and decorating her new apartment. The apartment will be a major project. Kelly Griffin, our friend and decorator from Louisiana is going to meet with Britney later this week. I’m sure Britney will be overwhelmed and excited shopping with Kelly around all the professional design studios in New York.

Lately I can’t get over how “creative” the press has been. But I see it in a positive light - times like these make me happy to know that Britney’s true fans love her because she’s a talented performer and a wonderful person, no matter what the press comes up with. In fact, she’s with me right now and wants to say hello…


Hey guys, I thought I’d steal the keyboard away from my momma to say what’s up! I had the best time at Camp this year – I got to spend time with the campers and even sing for them. The performance they put on was awesome! It’s always really cool to see people getting excited about the arts. It reminds me of why I always wanted to get into music and be a performer.

I just want to say to all my fans that I think you’re the greatest! You’re the reason that I’m here and I will always remember that. Have a great last few days of summer!

Masked Avengers Prank Britney
PageSix.com reported that A Canadian comic posing as singer Celine Dion persuaded Britney Spears to sing a duet with golfer Tiger Woods - called “Let’s Make a Hole in One” - for a bogus charity event.

Marc Audette, deftly imitating the voice of French-Canadian diva Dion, chatted with Spears on the telephone about each woman’s charity foundations.

After a few minutes of mutual admiration, Audette invited Spears to come to Montreal and visit “her club” - in reality, a popular Montreal strip joint.

“It was one of our easiest coups,” said Audette. “We had Britney on the line within 72 hours.”

The comic asked Spears, 20, to participate in the charity, rattling off a list of other famous people who would be there.

“Tiger Woods, one of my personal friends, just promised me he’s going to sing a very special song in duo with you, and it’s going to be called ‘Let’s Make a Hole in One,' " Audette gushed.

“Oh, I would so be interested, oh my goodness, definitely,” Spears replied. “When do you all want to do it?”

“She first had a little bit of an aggressive reaction but then she was laughing,” Audette said, calling Spears a good sport. “She didn’t even think it was a gag. I don’t know why. I think she was so impressed to speak to Celine Dion.”

Audette and fellow comic Sebastien Trudel - known as the Masked Avengers - are well-known for fooling famous people on their radio show.

I don't usually comment but this article is one of the most interesting articles ever done about Britney, she comes out about a lot of stuff that has been going on in the past few months and also a lot of new information like she just bought an apartment in lower Manhattan. Britney's Take: Give Me A Break
For months, stories of Britney Spears' wild antics have been swirling.

She's boozing it up in nightclubs. She's smoking. She's heartbroken over Justin. She's giving the middle finger to photographers. She's distressed over her parents' divorce.

And the ultimate: She's taking a six-month break because she's having a breakdown!

Now, the 20-year-old pop princess sits down with People to say exactly how she's feeling. In her purse, notes the piece: Juicy Fruit gum, Pinkie's mints and St. John's wort, the herbal supplement generally taken for depression.

Here are some of the highlights from the new issue's cover story:

* ''I'm taking a break, so people are writing that I'm having a meltdown. I don't get it.''

* ''I need this break to rejuvenate and to just play.''

* ''I never wanted to hide who I was, but until about a year ago, I was trying to fit an image and trying to be someone I wasn't.''

* ''If I have a drink or I'm with someone, I'm human. I'm no different than anyone else my age.''

* The breakup of her parents' 30-year marriage has been easier to deal with. ''It's the best thing that's ever happened to my family. My mom and dad, bottom line, do not get along. When I was a baby, they argued. I wanted this to happen 10 years ago.''

* She's happy to have a break. ''Everything's usually laid out for me. But I don't know what I'm going to do next. This may sound weird, but I'm kind of the happiest I've been in a really long freakin' time.''

Britney Going To New York For Fashion Week
New York Metro reported that Britney Spears may be taking a six-month break from show business and returning to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, but she won't be shunning the spotlight altogether. The pop princess is looking to hit New York for Fashion Week, according to her stylists Kurt and Bart. Kurt says they want to take Spears to Matthew Williamson and Carlos Miele's shows and are currently looking for other young designers they think Spears will like. "She is taking a break, so that's why she could go to the shows," Kurt tells us. "Every time we tried before, she was too busy. . . . She'd also love to do the Europe thing too. Hit Versace and Roberto Cavalli, all those designers who have been so good to her." If Spears does make it to Fashion Week, Kelly Osbourne might want to tag along. The foulmouthed rocker offspring apparently doesn't approve of Brit's fashion sense. During Osbourne's photo shoot for a story about her in the current issue of YM, a tipster tells us, Osbourne was flipping through a magazine when she stopped at a story about Spears. Dissing each photo with a grunt or a moan, Osbourne hissed, "She needs serious style help."

What should Britney Spears do next? Brian Hiatt offers career advice for the pop goddess on the eve of her six-month break.

Oh Britney, Britney, how were we supposed to know...that something isn't right? With Spears about to take a six-month break from the spotlight, we're not nearly ready to echo the New York Times Magazine's recent claim that the 20-year-old's ''star has fallen.'' But it's clear that she's reached an, um, crossroads in her career.

Spears remains one of the world's biggest stars, but her latest album, ''Britney,'' sold 3.8 million copies -- an impressive number for most artists, but less than half of what her last release moved. Meanwhile, her new single, the heavy breather ''Boys,'' has only reached No. 36 on Radio & Records' pop radio chart, and you're more likely to hear Brit's Pepsi ad on Top 40 radio than her actual music.

Plus, Spears has experienced a wave of negative publicity in recent months, beginning with her high-profile break-up with 'NSync's Justin Timberlake, and continuing on to two recent incidents in Mexico (she brandished her middle finger at some photogs and cut short a concert due to bad weather). Even news of her parents' divorce seems to somehow tarnish that glisteningly perfect image; her sunny sound seems at odds with her suddenly turbulent life.

At the same time, musical trends aren't moving in Spears' favor, as fans have embraced the likes of Pink and Avril Lavigne, whose more rock-leaning pop provides a tart alternative to Britney's sticky-sweet bubblegum. Britney Says Boredom Is Cool
Pop princess Britney Spears has spoken of her new life out of the spotlight after deciding to take a break from the music business.

Britney, 20, recently announced she was taking off six months amid reports that she was suffering from exhaustion.

She is now spending time relaxing at her family home in Louisiana, and the previously workaholic star said she was finding it strange having nothing to do.

"I've just got to the point where I can really allow myself to relax," she said in a magazine interview.

"The other day, I was in my room, and I was like 'I'm bored. This is what it's like to be bored!' And it was kind of cool. But I think it will only last for a week or two."

Britney, who has amassed a £40 million fortune, admitted she found it difficult being public property.

"I'm in complete denial that I am 'Britney Spears'. Do you understand what I'm saying? I'm just a human being," she said.

And the star claimed to be mystified about why people were so fascinated about whether or not she was still a virgin.

She said: "What's the big deal? I find it interesting that everyone finds it so interesting. It's bizarre."

The past few months have seen crises in both Britney's professional and personal lives.

Britney Spears Is Feeling Fine
Britney Spears is tired of people constantly asking her if she's okay following her split from Justin Timberlake.

She says, "You go to a club and people say, 'Are you fine? Are you fine?' And it's like, 'I'm here, aren't I?' What if I was some weakling and I was like, 'Whaaa! Crying!"

The 20-year-old star denies that she's been floored by the end of her relationship with the 'N Sync singer, and says she's learning to cope with hearing tales of his encounters with other women.

She says, "It wasn't a bad break-up. Of course it's gonna hurt sometimes, and you wonder things. But you learn from it and grow. I'm trying to get to that point."

Britney Appears on 'Puppy Love' Album
For a while, Britney was being criticized by animal activists for the conditions the animals faced during her video shoot for 'Boys'. Now Britney is showing everyone, that it's all rumors and she really does care about animals.

The S.P.C.A. (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and Zomba Records worked together to create an album called 'Puppy Love' for all animal lovers. $1 from the sale of each album will go to the S.P.C.A., who receives 1,000's of unwanted abused dogs every month.

Britney's 'Not a Girl' track will appear on the album. The album is available to buy in music stores on August 20th.

Britney Spears Plays Mom To Little Sister
Britney Spears may be on a six-month hiatus, but she's keeping busy, squiring her little sister Jamie Lynn Spears about while mother Lynne Spears takes care of her own sister, who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant in her battle with cancer.

"Britney has had sole responsibility for Jamie Lynn lately. She has played the role of me (Momma), while I am in Houston with Sandra," Lynne Spears wrote on her daughter's official website ( britneyspears.com).

Britney Spears and her little sister recently appeared together at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Then they both traveled up to Canada where Jamie Lynn was shooting a commercial.

But it hasn't been all mothering duties for Britney. She also spent time with college-age sister Laura Lynn Spears in Florida. Mother Lynne says her famous child is enjoying time out of the spotlight.

"She loves to be able to wake up when she wants and decide what she chooses to do each day," the website entry said. "There's no hair and makeup to sit through. Instead of catering, she has home cooking. Fame and fortune hasn't blemished Britney. She still enjoys the same simple pleasures with the same family and friends."

However Lynne Spears acknowledges her daughter is not a girl, yet not a woman, and not that innocent either. "Britney no longer sees the world through rose-colored glasses. She's had too many glimpses of the vices of humanity, mostly in the press."

'Happy' Britney Spears Takes Six Month Break
Pop princess Britney Spears is taking a six month break, but her publicist on Thursday denied rumors that the 20 year-old singing sensation was so exhausted and broken-hearted that she was "running home to mom."

"She is taking six months off. She has been working for four years straight and she is taking a break. The girl works harder than anyone in the business and she is taking a break," publicist Lisa Kasteler told Reuters.

Spears' decision came just days after a controversial end to her world tour. She was booed by fans after cutting short her final show in Mexico City because of a torrential rain storm, and made an obscene gesture to paparazzi photographers besieging her car.

The star, who has made three hit albums and a movie since rocketing to fame in 1998, is also said to be devastated over her breakup in March with childhood sweetheart and 'NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake. The breakup of the two-year romance was blamed on conflicting schedules.

Recent tabloid newspaper reports have said that an exhausted Spears was planning to pack in the music business for two years and move back to her home state of Louisiana to live with her mother.

Kasteler however said Spears "is fine, she's happy. It has nothing to do with the things that have been reported.

"She is going to read scripts during the six months. She is going to travel, write music and hang out with her family and friends who she hasn't been able to spend any real time with for a long time. It is that simple. There is no drama here," she said.

"I have no idea where she is going to be. She's going to go to Louisiana. That is her home. It's not her running home to mom. She plans to travel and I'm sure she'll be spending time in L.A and in New York. She has friends everywhere," Kasteler said.

Spears has been working virtually nonstop since she burst onto the scene as a cute teen with the 1998 hit "Baby one more time" and rose to become a worldwide pop idol known for her bare navel and her famous claim that she was still a virgin.

Her first film, the teen road movie "Crossroads" was released in February, and in June Spears signed a deal with stock car racing organization NASCAR to star in a feature film next year about the sport.

Spears apologized to fans in Mexico City over the cancellation of the show after less than five songs and said the audience would get a full refund.

But the cancellation came only a few days after she was caught by cameras extending her middle finger at photographers, in an insulting gesture seen as having sullied her image as a wholesome southern girl.

Britney's six month vacation is here! Yay! She loves to be able to wake up when she wants and decide what she chooses to do each day. There's no hair and make-up to sit through. Instead of catering, she has home cooking. Fame and fortune hasn't blemished Britney. She still enjoys the same simple pleasures with the same family and friends. However, Britney no longer sees the world through rose-colored glasses. She's had too many glimpses of the vices of humanity, mostly in the press. We wonder what they will come up with next!

Laura Lynn has been on college break, so she and Britney are making up for lost time together. The two have done the "girl thing" in Los Angeles and have sunbathed in Florida. I'm sure NYC is next on their list! There is so much laughter in the house when all the girls get together.

Jamie Lynn and Britney have left Nickelodeon studios for Canada, where Jamie Lynn is shooting a commercial. Meanwhile, Bryan is doing some work in Seattle. Everyone is scattered, once again! Britney has had sole responsibility for Jamie Lynn lately. She has played the role of me (Momma), while I am in Houston with Sandra. Sandra has finished the bone marrow transplant successfully. So far, watching my sister struggle through this difficult ordeal reminds me of what is most important in life. Sandra's strength and wisdom lets me see how precious life and loved ones are. Anyone that knows Sandra loves her. She will win this battle!

During Britney's break, our “gang of girls” have lots of fun planned and we will be celebrating Sandra's victory!

Designer Thrilled With Britney
American designer Barbara Horowitz is crediting Britney Spears for turning her dream into reality - by buying her first batch of three-way T-shirts.

The former modelling agent for Charlize Theron was thrilled when the pop superstar loved the stylish tops, which Horowitz makes from cutting up men's T-shirts.

She says, "I had a roommate working as a stylist on "Crossroads" and she showed Britney my T-shirts.

"I made a bunch of them and she took them on the set and Britney Spears purchased the first three tees that I ever made."

The tops have become must-have fashion items for many teenage girls.

Rest For The Exhausted Britney
Another stupid rumor from PageSix.com which asks: IS Britney Spears about to pull a Mariah Carey and take an extended vacation?

Music industry sources said the 21-year-old pop tart, still brokenhearted after the split from Justin Timberlake, is "exhausted" and wants to quit the music scene for two years while she reclaims her life in Louisiana.

But a rep for Spears said, "She is not taking two years off, she is trying to take six months off, and Louisiana is home to her."

According to one music industry spy, "Britney's lost it. She was really upset after she was booed in London and Mexico, and she's saying she is going to pack it in for two years.

"She's planning on moving back to Louisiana and living with her mother. She's tired of being under constant pressure to perform, and is exhausted and is still broken up about Justin."

Spears recently flipped the finger at Mexican paparazzi when they tried to snap her photo, and she was booed when she aborted a concert after just four songs. Her handlers blamed the early exit on an approaching thunderstorm.

The sexy singer also caught flack during the London premiere of her movie "Crossroads" earlier this year, when she showed up late and didn't stop to pose for photos or sign autographs.

Before Britney - who has homes in the Hollywood Hills and NoHo - headed home to Mama, she spent one final weekend partying at Hugh Hefner's Pajama Party at the Playboy mansion in Beverly Hills.

Pals said Spears is still obsessed with Timberlake and that she hit on Leonardo DiCaprio to make her former flame jealous.

A recent leak from her camp suggested that Spears and DiCaprio, who recently split with supermodel Gisele Bundchen, had a "secret date at her [Hollywood] house this Saturday." The Spears leak also suggested that Britney and Leo had met before: "They got on really well, so a mutual friend set them up."

But DiCaprio's spokesman - who coincidentally also happens to rep Timberlake - denied this.

"Leo and Britney were at the same event last weekend in Los Angeles," Ken Sunshine said. "They were introduced, said hello, and there was no further contact. That is it."

DiCaprio and his pal Tobey Maguire "had the pick of the litter" at the Playboy party and neither showed much interest in Spears.

Another music spy said, "She is desperate to hook up with someone who will make Justin jealous. She is 21 going on 9 years old, and just can't get over the fact that he has moved on."

Spears' rep declined to comment on her client's personal life.

Mini-me Gets Big Thrill Out Of Britney
Even with his sunglasses on, it wasn't hard to tell where Mini-Me was looking the other night as he stood eye-level with Britney Spears' chest at the 2002 Teen Choice Awards in L.A. The "Austin Powers" character - played by Verne Troyer - couldn't have seemed happier as he and the blond pop tart, his co-star in "Goldmember," traded quips. Sarah Michelle Gellar received the Choice Movie Actress Comedy Award, as Susan Sarandon and 17-year-old daughter Eva made the scene. The show aires on Fox on Aug. 19.

Pharrell Williams Dating Britney?
Sunday People reported that BRITNEY SPEARS and BEYONCE KNOWLES are fighting over the same man - and taking no prisoners.

Both girls have been dating hunky star PHARRELL WILLIAMS - one half of top R&B production team The Neptunes.

A friend of Pharrell said: "He has been bragging about going out on dates with Britney. We were all really shocked, because everyone thought he was seeing Beyonce at the time.

"Both are pretty determined women who won't give him up easily - so there could be some fireworks between the two of them."

Pharrell met Britney, 20, when he was working on her new album and they hit it off immediately.

But that came as bad news to Destiny's Child beauty Beyonce, also 20, who has been seeing Pharrell for the past few months.

The girls were not exactly the best of mates before they became love rivals. They frequently fight it out at the top of the charts.

They are also both desperate for a new man after having their hearts broken by two-timing boyfriends. Britney split from N-Sync singer JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE after he cheated on her with singer TONYA MITCHELL.

She's been caught smoking and giving photographers the finger. She broke up with her long-term boyfriend. And she abruptly walked off stage after only a few songs during a concert in Mexico.

Has good-girl teen idol Britney Spears gone bad?

"A girl can only be so good," said E! Online writer Mark Armstrong. "These are just moments where a pop star is caught off-guard or caught acting normal."

Spears' recent antics have left some wondering whether the 20-year-old pop icon is trying to exchange her wholesome image for a more devilish persona. But some fans and Britney experts refute that theory.

"I don't think it's a publicity stunt," said Damon Romine, editor of Teen Beat and Tiger Beat magazines. "In reality, it's just Britney being a girl her age."

Britney Spears Comes Clean On Her Mexico City Concert Experience
Britney Spears spoke with Nancy O'Dell from NBC's Access Hollywood about her Mexico City concert on July 28, which was canceled about 30 minutes into the show due to a severe lightning storm.

During the interview, which aired Thursday (August 1) on the program, Spears said that the concert stage at Foro Sol baseball stadium was struck by lightning. "The whole stage is metal and the stage was hit by lightning and not safe," she said. "The dancers on stage slipped--it wasn't safe at all for us to continue the show. This was not a rainstorm. This was a lightning storm. The stage actually got hit by lightning, it wasn't safe for us."

Spears noted that she was told not to perform at all due to the severe weather, but she decided to press on. "I did a show and I gave it my all," said Spears. "They told us not to go on, but I said, 'No, I have to go out there.' I think I made an effort and that matters." Spears added that it was her decision to make sure that the fans in attendance ultimately received refunds.

As for the infamous "middle finger" incident--in which Spears was captured on camera flipping the bird to overzealous paparazzi and cameramen chasing her in vehicles--the singer chalked up her actions as being a "defense mechanism".

Spears also noted that the universally accepted meaning attached to the raising of the middle finger was, of course, not meant for the fans at all. "The cameras...We were almost in a wreck and they were getting out and shaking vans," she explained. "We were in danger and I didn't think it was my fans. It was just a defense mechanism, and I wouldn't do it again."

Britney On Music, 'Boys' And Austin's Powers
In June, Britney Spears cut short a Texas concert because of a power failure. This past week, she cut short a Mexico City show, the tour's last stop, because of too much electricity -- a lightning storm in the area.

Life just seems to go one way or the other for Spears these days.

In the past year, she broke up with 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, was sued for allegedly stealing two songs, and has been challenged in the charts by a batch of young female singer-songwriters.

But she also opened a New York restaurant, toured, had a video game made about her, starred in a successful movie and was named the most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes magazine.

The dramatic swings of pop superstardom make Spears' stage hip-shaking look downright geriatric -- well, almost. In her latest video, the Neptunes-remixed "Boys," her shimmy proves too much for even Austin Powers.

CNN "Music Room" host Sasha Rionda caught up with the 20-year-old singer during her tour, and they chatted about Spears' eventful year.

Rionda: What is different with the "Dream within a Dream" tour? It seems to be much more daring than your previous tours.

Spears: This is my third tour, and I had a lot more involvement with this tour. I got to choose the dancers, you know, choose everything, so it was like a bigger deal for me because it was, like, my baby and my project.

Rionda: Now that you're no longer a teenager, are you trying to target your material more for adults?

Spears: You know, it's not something that you try do, [say] "I'm going to sing to this person or that person." I just sing what I'm feeling at the time and hope my fans will like that and appreciate that.

Rionda: How is your music changing?

Spears: Lately, I've been really interested in a lot of hip-hop music. I've been really influenced by that. I think I['ve] incorporated a lot of that into my music lately.

You know what? It changes every day. Who knows? Six weeks from now, I'll probably be singing rock music. It's just whatever I feel at the moment....
