Britney On The Cover of GQ Next Month

Faisal Janahi, a member of BritneySpearsForum.com has got his hands a 12 original photos and claims that one of these photos might be on the cover of GQ next month! Check out the two photos, proof of that there is a 12 photo page. I guess we will just have to wait to see if this turns out to be true and if Britney graces the cover of GQ. But as of right now, there is no official announcement about this. Hopefully by Wednesday, we will have higher quality scans of all 12 photos.

Britney To Keep Thoughts To Herself

Contact Music reports Pop princess Britney Spears has grown up so much since her last album that unlike former partner Justin Timberlake, she won't write any songs about their breakup. The Boys hitmaker believes her thoughts on the subject should remain private, in contrast to the former 'N Sync star, who supposedly wrote Cry Me a River about his former flame. Of her as-yet untitled new album, she says, "I didn't put as many personal things as you might hope! I wrote about subjects that let me open up my personal feelings, but I didn't write a song about Justin or anyone else. That would've seemed too weird to me. "I'm learning there are things that should remain private and in my heart. I guess I'm growing up. But don't tell too many people, okay!"

Contact Muisc reports Pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS stunned American summer campers in Yarmouthport, Massachusetts, by appearing on their final day to congratulate the 150 kids on their efforts. And the excited youngsters had good reason to thank the SLAVE 4 U star - she paid for their places on the camp with her own money. According to the NEW YORK POST newspaper, Britney also signed a pink guitar for an auction to be staged by the Los Angeles-based after-school programme, The Blues Lab, which supplied instructors to the camp. Britney's brother BRIAN helps organise and run the camp.

New York Post reported Britney Spears was turned away from a Southampton diner by a waitress pointing out a "Patrons Only" sign when the pop star asked to use the bathroom. Spotting a car dealership across Route 27, Spears and her team of security guards and stylists, who were racing to a Hamptons photo shoot, did a U-turn and met more helpful employees, who directed her to the ladies room. On her way out, Spears inspected a new BMW, asked the price and said, "What a neat car." An hour later, the car salesmen heard a ringing noise from the bathroom. It was MTV looking for Spears' hairdresser. Soon after, Spears' SUV reappeared and a bodyguard got out to pick up the hairdresser's cell phone.

Britney To Keep Her Romantic Liaisons Quiet

Teen Music reports Super-famous singing sensation Britney Spears now realizes that in order to maintain a romantic relationship she has to be more discreet than she has been in the past. Kissing Madonna doesn't count. However, the Lucky star does not resent this inconvenience - as she is well aware of the many benefits there are to being a hugely successful singer. She says, "I understand that I need to be very discreet about my private life. The lesson was difficult to learn, but I've had to get it through my head in order to have some peace in my life. "I couldn't allow myself a real freedom of movement. I know that because of what I do I'll never live as openly as many girls my age. But, look at all the perks." As for the men she is currently finds attractive she adds, "For some time I've felt attracted to men who really take care of themselves. The real men. That might seem weird, maybe even stupid, but this is the truth!"

Britney Wearing A Kabbalah Bracelet

Britney Spears waits in line at an In and Out fast food restaurant in West Hollywood on August 22nd. The pop star was sporting some new red wristwear - a Kabbalah bracelet. Just like fellow pop queen Madonna, Spears has adopted the latest trend in accessories. Demi Moore and her kids also wear the colored string. Spears downed her burger in the car and then enjoyed an after-meal cigarette. Could Britney be following the Kabbalah religion now or was the braclet just a gift from Madonna? We are not sure, but maybe we will find out over the next few months as she gets interviewed, I am sure this question will pop up and be answered. Check out the pictures of her clearly wearing the red bracelet on August 22nd. You will also notice in pictures from the VMA After Party on Thursday night, she is wearing the bracelet.

Christina And Justin Comment On Britney

Tonight on Access Hollywood they interviewed Christina and Justin who both had something to say about Britney and last night. Christina said that both Britney and her practiced kissing Madonna at rehearsal and Christina was comfortable with it but Britney was not. Madonna had to keep on saying: kiss me, Britney kiss me. Christina was then asked if she thought Britney needed to loosen up? Christina said "yeah but I think she needs to loosen up in general". That's harsh especially coming from someone who just performed with her and had a performance of a lifetime. Justin said he was not shocked by the performance and that he liked it, he said it was sexy and he wont take that away from anyone up there. Justin also said the cameras were right there and as soon as Madonna and Britney kissed they just went in his face and that is the reason why he had a weird facial expression. Britney Attended The Maverick After Party Last Night

So last night, how'd you think Britney celebrated her big performance and her return to the spotlight? Where else, an after party! She went and partyed at the Maverick VMA After Party at the Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC with other celebrities including one of her perfomance partner, Christina Aguilera who wore a racy button on her jacket that said "I f'cked Britney Spears". MTV.com article about the VMA ofcourse talks about the performance and has some exclusive photos. With just a few minutes of lip locking, hip wiggling and thigh stroking, Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera set the bar sky high for all of the performers at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Anyone who's ever questioned Britney or Madonna's acting abilities should reconsider. Not only did the ladies show off some blood-pressure-raising moves, their kisses were nothing like the infamous mouth mush between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley and far more like something from late-night Cinemax. Their opening number began with Spears emerging from an enormous white cake in a wedding dress and veil. After Britney sang several verses from "Like a Virgin," Aguilera came out and picked up the vocals for what was the pair's first performance together since the Mickey Mouse Club. But this was no kid's stuff. Within moments they were writhing on the ground with their legs spread. Then Madonna descended from the cake, dressed in black and singing "Hollywood" Dancing provocatively with her two protégés, she planted a sexy smooch on Britney's mouth, then turned and delivered one to Christina. MTV VMA's Start With a Bang

Well, what can I say? The rumors oh the rumors. The show starts with what we think is Madonna on top of the small stage singing "Like A Virgin" only to be fooled. In actuality Britney came out on top of a small stage in a white wedding dress walking down singing "Like A Virgin." After a couple of minutes of her solo singing, another white wedding dress appears - Madonna? No, no other than Christina Aguilera. Then Madonna pops out originally from where Britney made her entrance singing her new song "Hollywood." To cap it off, the "Work It" girl herself, Missy Elliott prowess on stage to give the performance a little hip-hop flavor. Awesome opener to the show, one to be remembered in MTV history. Hopefully we will have pictures and a video up later tonight. Stay tuned...

Britney Performs At The VMA!

Britney is performing right as I write this at the MTV VMA, just like we been thinking all along! Britney and Christina sang "Like A Virgin" and then Madonna sang her new song "Hollywood" and they joined into the singing. Madonna then kissed Britney and Christina on the lips. And even Missy Elliot joined into the performance. It was even more over the top then I even thought it would be, it was realy good and may go down as one of the best VMA performances ever! Everyone is going to be talking about this performance for the next few days, week, months and it definitely will be the highlight of the night! Britney, Madonna and Christina Performing At VMA Tonight?

We know the VMA are live tonight on MTV but still the biggest rumor this year has not yet really been answered. No one seems to know if Britney and Madonna and now even Christina who been added to the this group to replace JLO who has a previous engagement (shooting a movie), are going to be all performing together? Rumors are they are going to open the awards show which this huge surprise. We at least know MTV has been trying to plan it but it's not known for sure if it all came together. It's now even been reported by Z100 radio station in NY, that Britney has been seen at rehearsal with none other than Madonna and Christina. Could we be seeing Britney and Christina coming out in wedding dresses singing "Like A Virgin" tonight? For us, I hope it comes true but we will all have to tune in tonight @ 8PM on MTV and find out together. But it's a fact that Britney will be attending the VMA and will be presenting an award. NFL Kickoff 2003 Schedule, Britney Performs At 7:45PM

The schedule of events for NFL Kickoff 2003 have been posted up on NFL.com. This is for Thursday, so Britney will be performing from 7:45 till 8:15, which means Britney will be performing for a complete 30 minutes. ABC is planning to air the concert live from 8-9PM so we will be able see about half of Britney's performance on TV. Hopefully those, will be her new songs. Britney NFL Poster In Rolling Stone

NFL.com reported that Rolling Stone, the premiere magazine on music, put together a list of the 25 most memorable music moments in NFL history to be featured in a 16-page special section. The issue hits news stands on Aug. 29. Included in the special section will be a limited edition collectible poster featuring Britney Spears, along with New York Jets John Abraham, Wayne Chrebet and Curtis Martin. And also Washington Redskins LaVar Arrington, Champ Bailey and Laveranues Coles. The group was photographed together in New York in July. The layout promotes "NFL Kickoff Live from the National Mall presented by Pepsi Vanilla." It will run featuring Spears from 6-9 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 4, and will be televised live from 8-9 p.m. ET on ABC, leading up to the season opener between the Washington Redskins hosting the New York Jet at FedEx Field (9 p.m. ET, ABC). SURPRISE! Was this the surprise that everyone was expecting? We have been talking about this new layout in our forums for the past few days and it's finally here, right before the VMA! I hope it's better then everyone even expected, this is not just a change in layouts but a bigger change to BritneySpears.Org (BS.Org). It's a new era for our fan site which has been keeping britney fans informed and bringing fans together for over 4 years now. This new era is being called Pure Fans, where we hope to go back to the basics and make this site a real representation of the fans. The new layout was just the first step for the new BS.Org. The next step will be completely redoing the content including new a biography, discography, and for the very first time a multimedia section with Britney videos plus a videography. Britney Buys Rings

Sky News report: Britney Spears has splashed on two £10,000 rings for Madonna and J.Lo to apologise for pulling out of a gig with them. The three chart queens were due to team up for a performance of Madonna's hit Like A Virgin at the MTV video music awards. But when Britney heard that J.Lo was considering pulling out because of filming commitments she decided leave Madonna to sing on her own. A source close to Britney told the Daily Star: "She just wants to watch Madonna go for it. "She wanted to buy each woman a ring as a small gesture to say how much she was honoured to have been asked to sing with them." Britney will still grace the stage at the world famous Radio City Hall in New York during the event to present awards.

Britney Moves Album Out Of Alicia Keys' Way

Contact Music reports Pop princess Britney Spears has reportedly pushed back the release date of her upcoming album so she doesn't go up against Alicia Keys. The star was set to bring out her eagerly-awaited new album on November 18, 2003 but has now pushed it back upon hearing that the "Fallin'" chanteuse was planning to do the same. According to British tabloid The Daily Star on Sunday, "Britney said she wanted to move the release to sometime later in the month the moment she heard she'd have to compete with Alicia Keys."

Britney Not Perfoming At VMA According to NY Post

New York Post reported that Jennifer Lopez buried the hatchet with Madonna and even showed up to the Material Mom's birthday party last week at her Los Angeles house - but Lopez isn't going near the MTV Video Music Awards, where Madge will be honored on Thursday. "Jennifer is working on her movie in Canada," a pal of hers explains. Britney Spears will be in the audience, but won't be performing for her friend Madonna. "She will be there, but as of right now, there are no plans for her to sing," another source said. However, rumors are flying that Courtney Love, Mariah Carey, Lil' Kim and Kelly Clarkson will perform. Madonna's Gap co-star, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, will be a no-show. Elliott infuriated Madonna while making Gap commercials when she refused to get off the phone and turned down an invitation to Madonna's home. A rep for MTV declined comment. Gloves Been Made For Madonna's VMA Performance

Capital 9 News reported that gloves have been made for Madonna's VMA performance which somewhat confirms that Madonna will be performing at this year's VMA and hopefully with Britney! A world famous glovemaker has made his home in Fulton County. Daniel Storto is known as "Glovemaker to the Hollywood Stars," and he's moved his shop from Los Angeles to Gloversville. Just this week, he made a custom pair of fingerless evening gloves for Madonna's performance on MTV's Video Music Awards. And the list doesn't end there -- he's worked with celebrities Whoopi Goldberg, Meryl Streep and Cher. Storto prides himself as the only person who hand-stitches gloves in the U.S. When asked why he has set up shop in Gloversville this year, he said it was the history of the region. Britney Attending 2003 MTV VMA

The 2003 MTV Video Music Awards added a little jiggle and a lot of stomp as Beyoncé and Metallica have been added to the roster of performers for this year's ceremony. Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Sean Paul, Mya, Missy Elliott, Serena Williams, Method Man, Iggy Pop and cast members from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers" have also been lined up to appear on the show, set to air live on August 28 from New York's Radio City Music Hall. This is the latest update on the MTV VMA 2003 on MTV. As of now, rumors are circulating around that Britney may perform with Madonna but no one from MTV has yet to confirm this information. But for the mere fact that MTV decided to mention Britney and Madonna in their news and on TRL, does show that the rumors in fact could be true. While rumors swirl that Britney Spears and Madonna may team up at this year's MTV Video Music Awards on August 28, they remain only rumors. Show organizers and MTV reps remain mum on the topic, and cannot confirm any such collaboration. But for now we only know that Britney will be at least attending the VMA. As soon as we find out any new information about her performing or not, we will let you know. Reported by New York Daily News Are Britney Spears and Jared Leto Hollywood's hottest new couple or is theirs a match made by the green-eyed monster? Neither Spears nor Leto has been lucky in love after enduring very public splits. She's been single since calling it quits with Justin Timberlake last year, while Leto and former love Cameron Diaz went their separate ways earlier this year. While these two have been nursing their broken hearts alone, Diaz has made no secret that she's lustin' for Justin as she accompanies him on his current tour. But Spears and Leto found each other Saturday night in Los Angeles when the pop tart and the matinee idol eyed one another at Dolce, Ashton Kutcher's restaurant. "They'd never met before," says a source. Leto came over to chat and learned he and Brit were both headed for Ben Affleck's birthday party, thrown by Jennifer Lopez and their agent, Patrick Whitesell. They decided to drive over together, and arrived arm-in-arm. Another spywitness saw them leave early, ditching Molly Sims, David Spade, Shannen Doherty, Damon and Keenan Ivory Wayans and missing Affleck's duet of "Hump Bounce" with R. Kelly (whose current five-city tour was undertaken only through the permission of a judge - Kelly awaits trial on 21 charges of child pornography in Illinois). TV Networks Fight For Britney Exclusive

I just want to let everyone know that this news is being reported by a tabloid As reported by TeenMusic. Looks like rival TV networks are fighting for the Britney exclusive. Britney was pulled out of a "high-profile American interview" on NBC's Dateline by her manager; where she was to be interviewed by Maria Shriver, wife to Arnold Schwarzenneger. Page Six reports that Britney was pulled out when TV network rival ABC offered a special with other publicized events. A source tells Page Six, "Britney's manager pulled her cooperation from Dateline when ABC called up and promised her a huge prime-time holiday-season special. ABC pulled out all the stops for Britney. They see it as a war with NBC, and they want to win. ABC promised Britney her own special, plugs on Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight, and nonstop coverage of her new album." As reported before, ABC has confirmed that Britney will be doing a special interview with ABC anchor Diane Sawyer on November 13. Britney's representative had no comment.

A small forest was built in a studio at New York's Chelsea Piers, where a mud-smeared Spears posed seductively for cameras. She says, "There's something about going for walks or going to the beach that just makes me feel sexy and good. It's like a healing thing." And Spears, who finds men most attractive when they're confident and funny, lists THE WAY WE WERE as her favourite romantic flick - but not the sexiest. She adds, "The sexiest movie? Probably INDECENT PROPOSAL, with DEMI MOORE. I find that hot. I think she works it and I think it's a very sexy movie." Michael emailed me today reporting some news on the rumored Britney talk show. He states that Jamie Leigh will be the host of Britney's upcoming talk-show or that Britney wishes it was her. Michael states that Jamie Leigh just signed on with Madonna's old manager and a close friend of Michael Jackson. Quoting "this woman is a pioneer and innovator and film icon in the making." He also states that Jamie Leigh and Britney have been spotted dinning out. Britney likes Jamie because "Jamie Leigh innovates and has that Jackson-esque vibe that inspires Spears." Britney has "fallen in love with her [Jamie Leigh] no holds bard look and old Hollywood iconic appeal and looks."

Metro Weekly reports Britney Spears and her publicity machine are in overdrive, working to keep her name in the headlines -- from now until the end of her career. Of course, that may be only a matter of months, so last week’s prattle about a Spears-guided daytime TV talk show may have been hot air. If it proceeds the talk show wouldn’t begin until late next year. That’s around the same time as Mrs. Gigli (a.k.a. J. Lo) is reportedly considering starting one as well, if her career survives its recent deflated state. Anyway, much like many a boss, Spears would do a spot of work on her talk show, show her face occasionally (but only via videotape) -- and take all the credit, likely with her name in the title. (That idea flopped, however, when she launched a New York eatery two years ago.) To make the show a reality, Spears will have to have a hit with her next album, due in the fall. An initial push for it will come right here in D.C., for free -- at the annual concert to kick-off football season. Set for Thursday, Sept. 4, on the Mall for broadcast that evening on ABC, Spears will appear with other artists, including one she could certainly learn about career longevity -- and talent -- from: Mary J. Blige. Blige will be promoting her album, Love & Life (Geffen), produced with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, to be released a week earlier. Also weighing down on whether Spears will banter on TV: the success of her second stab at movie stardom. Spears will play the daughter of a NASCAR racing driver in Trading Paint. BBC Radio 1 knows of no plans for Spears to sing or race in the film, and couldn’t say when it would be released, though surely sometime next year. In any case, here’s hoping Spears has learned from her fender-bender crash with her first film, Crossroads, or this could be a fatal pileup.

Cafe con leche. Christina Aguilera? Devil's-food cake. No -- make that Manwich. Avril Lavigne? Wheat grass. Britney Spears? Cherry vanilla. Which is to say sweet, with a decided tang. This is how Britney Spears comes across on one sunny spring day at Battery Studios, a Manhattan recording space. Taking a break from work on her fourth album, to be released in the fall, she is friendly and polite -- and prone to using a smattering of naughty words, hereafter replaced by (oops!). The orange T-shirt is tight, the jeans cut low, the white-and-blue cowboy boots battered by loving overuse. She pulls one off to show how it flops. ''People say to me, 'Brit, you need to get some new (oops!) boots!''' I had been warned of a sea change in this formerly G-rated Mouseketeer by my 11-year-old daughter, once a huge Britney fan, though ''way back in the third grade.'' She cited Spears's 2001 MTV Video Music Awards telecast outfit -- not much bigger than Eve's (the biblical one), and accessorized with a writhing live snake. She asked me, with a tinge of pity: ''Mom, didn't you know? Britney's gone bad!'' Maybe so, but it must be -- as the Shangri-Las once sang of a hot boyfriend with dirty fingernails -- ''good-bad, but not evil.'' At 21, having sold 52 million albums and, on her last tour, more than $40 million worth of tickets, Britney Spears is justifiably feeling her oats. She was only 2 in 1983 when MTV's iconic First Tart, Cyndi Lauper, tossed down the marabou'ed gauntlet with ''Girls Just Want to Have Fun.'' Surely, the notion of fun itself has changed since Lauper's harmless video pajama party -- just check out the girls gone wild on MTV's spring-break extravaganzas. Spears is still decidedly upright by such standards. And since she grosses an estimated $40 million to $50 million a year, she has learned to overcome any guilt about the indulgences she grants herself. But it took a while for this child of a contractor and a second-grade teacher from tiny Kentwood, La., to adjust. ''When I first started and I wanted to buy a dress, if it was over $50, I would wait two weeks before I would make the decision to go back. Seriously.'' Now, she says, ''I give myself lots of treats.'' We'll just run through her guilty girl pleasures, teen-magazine style. Foods: ''Cookie-dough ice cream. Hot dogs with cheese, mayo, mustard, pickles.'' And because she's a Southern girl: ''Chicken and dumplings.'' Films: ''Sappy movies. Girl stuff like 'French Kiss' and 'Notting Hill,' 'Steel Magnolias,' 'Beaches.' I travel alone a lot, and I don't like scary.'' Music: ''Everything. Old 80's stuff. Old Aerosmith stuff. Robin Thicke is really cool. I loved the Neptunes for a while, but I'm over their stuff now.'' Miscellany: ''Dressing my dog'' (a reference to Mickey, a Pomeranian). ''There's a shop in L.A. with these really cute cashmere sweaters.'' Though she may not like spooky movies, she is not afraid to look deep, deep into her own wardrobe trunks and scare herself half to death. She cannot bull-leeve she wore some outfits in public. But will she tamp down the vamp? ''Nah.'' And to all the red-carpet arbiters she offers a resolute je ne regrette rien. Mam'selle explains: ''I was thinking the other day about an outfit I wore to the Billboard Awards, like three years ago. It was orange hot pants and fish-net stockings and this orange bra and this orange (oops!) hat, and it was all tie-dyed too. It was obnoxious! I got so much bad press for it.'' She laughs, rattling the collection of silver chains and charms around a well-tanned throat (''laying out,'' or tanning, is another no-no she enjoys). ''I look at that outfit right now,'' she continues, ''and if I was to put it on now, I'd think: What the (oops!) am I wearing? But at that moment, I was feeling very feisty and very orange and very out there. And very like, I believe! And it worked.'' For a young woman with an 11th-grade education but an M.F.A. in media madness, Spears is circumspect about all the scrutiny and those ghastly anti-Britney Web sites. ''People around me are like, 'Did you hear what they wrote?' I'm like, 'Yeah.' Honestly, the biggest thing about celebrity is that you call out for judgment. You just put yourself out there. Not everybody's going to like what you wear.'' She laughs and adds that visuals are ''the funnest part'' of her job. And since she's been working, hard, since about the second grade, she has a lot of fun to catch up on. Later tonight, she turns up at a Chelsea club called Lot 61, and before she can blink her pretty eyes, both city tabloids will report her drinking (''downing Malibu Sea Breezes,'' according to one) and dancing on banquettes. Responding to complaints from an allegedly displaced patron, Spears's publicist will harrumph: ''Britney would never enter a club without knowing her table is ready.'' What can we conclude except that these days, there is always a darned warning label on the most innocuous of pleasures? Even Kellogg's has moved to indemnify its Tarts in the wake of an infamous Internet ''flaming toaster'' experiment, cautioning, ''Due to possible risk of fire, never leave your toasting appliance or microwave unattended.'' From their weekly commentary: Well, all of you who have searched for Britney Spears (#4) naked over the past few years are finally in luck -- somewhat. This week's hot search was for the British edition of Elle Magazine (#3), where the September issue features a raunchy photo shoot of the popular singer. The magazine's cover features Spears in a seductive pose wearing only a pair of tiny black briefs. Her arms are crossed over certain body parts to prevent her from appearing completely topless, but that doesn't prevent the huge wave of Internet searches seeking to find the pictures. Teen Hollywood reports Britney Spears is desperately trying to give up cigarettes before she launches her new album - but is failing miserably. The pop singer is gearing up to release her LP later this year her first since 2001's eponymous album - and wants to be nicotine free when the record hits the shelves. However, Spears' attempts to wean herself off tobacco have been so far unsuccessful - much to her mother LYNNE's dismay. The Sun Newspaper reported that Britney Spears has a good giggle as she reads out quotes from her ex, Colin Farrell. The singer, who had a brief fling with the randy actor, chortles at his interview in magazine Esquire in which he says: “I am not in Hollywood to have sex with starlets.” He tells the mag: “I’ll go on about casual sex, I’ll use bad language and talk about hookers . . . but it doesn’t mean anything.” So it’s no surprise that Britney is having a good old laugh as she sits in her car after shopping at the Yellow store. Star Online reported that there was a fight between Britney and Christina over Simon Rex. Couldn't happen, you say? Think again. The two popsters came into a Miami Beach club as best friends -- but Spears left an hour later after a long argument with Aguilera. I'm told they were fighting over oh-so-pretty actor Simon Rex. "The music was too loud to hear them," says an eyewitness. "But it looked pretty serious. There was a lot of finger-pointing and flailing arms. A couple of beefy guys were standing by in case they needed to be separated, but fortunately, Britney left before they came to blows." Aguilera, 21, on tour with Justin Timberlake, hooked up with Spears, 23(21), in Florida for work on her new CD. At club Prive, they joined other celebrities, including Rex, 29, the porn-star-turned-MTV-vj-turned-sitcom-actor -- and Taye Diggs and Danny Masterson. What happened next is unclear, except that Rex -- who co-starred in the quirky WB sitcom What I Like About You -- is bragging that both women are after him. "They want me," he was overheard telling friends. "Christina is an old friend. But Britney's not my type. Too goody-goody!" Then he thought for a second and deadpanned: "Maybe they can both have me at the same time." Says a Britney spokesman: "There is no animosity between them over Simon Rex!"

Publicity-hungry Britney Spears managed to stay perched atop the buzz thanks to a couple of well-timed news items. Proving that strip-mining of '70s and '80s junk culture shows no signs of abating, a movie version of the car-jumpin' extravaganza The Dukes of Hazzard is cruising around the creative mecca of Hollywood. And who better to don the short shorts of Daisy Duke than the Cajun chanteuse? The rumor of an impending role helped fuel searchers who were drooling and dreaming of the young diva getting cheeky in tiny cutoffs. Adding to the allure was word of international sex symbol Ashton Kutcher playing Bo and well-versed driver Paul Walker slipping into the role of Luke. The real gold mine will be when Ben Affleck signs to play Cooter. Hollywood, you never cease to amaze us! In the "whodathunkit" category, Spears also made the daring and completely unexpected move of posing topless for British Elle magazine. The body-baring act inspired a flurry of searches as eager mouth-breathers sought out the soul-baring shots. While Miss-not-that-innocent's bosom is well hidden by her hands and various fabrics, it's a baby step toward confronting Christina Aguilera's ongoing descent into rampant trashiness. We just hope the two will reach some sort of detente before this revealing battle ends up warping the mind of impressionable teens. Album Release Date Still Unconfirmed By Jive

MTV.com reported that Britney Spears is getting closer to announcing a release date for her fourth album, but the NFL may have prematurely announced one for her. The NFL Web page promoting the singer's upcoming appearance at a September 4 season kickoff concert in Washington, D.C., noted in three places that Britney's upcoming album would drop November 18. Those mentions have since been removed, but Britney's official Web site, having long gone without an update, has new information on it this week, including a line about the album coming out in November. Spears' label, Jive, has yet to announce or confirm an official release date.

From The Sun HERE is BRITNEY SPEARS trying on dresses as she enjoys a frenzied shopping spree in Beverly Hills. The pop princess, who had a massive hit with Hit Me Baby One More Time, was out with a girl pal and her mum, above – shopping like a woman possessed. She pulled on dresses over her jeans and flashed her bum cleavage, below, when she crouched down to study some more clothes. One shopper said: “Britney raised a few eyebrows by trying on dozens of outfits on the shop floor. “She bought at least six dresses and tops and looked like she hadn’t had so much fun in a long time.” Mind you, with a bank balance like Britney’s, what woman wouldn’t squeeze as many designer outfits as possible into her Louis Vuitton bag? The singer was so eager to wear her new gear from posh store BCBG, she changed in to a new white lace top before walking out. Brit bought a few more outfits in trendy boutique Kitson before heading home in her new VW Beetle – after recuperating with a quick fag. Quick note: "fag" means a cigarette in the UK. Just want to let you all know that this news comes from The Sun, the biggest selling tabloid newspaper in the UK. They even brag about it on the title of their website. This is a rumor. Britney broke my heart HARDMAN rocker FRED DURST has revealed all to me about his affair with BRITNEY SPEARS and admits: “She broke my heart.” In an exclusive interview, the LIMP BIZKIT frontman also revealed how the singer’s ex-boyfriend JUSTIN TROUSERSNAKE “freaked out” when he heard they were an item. And the Nu-metal star spoke for the first time about his friendship with former SPICE GIRL GERI HALLIWELL — as well as confessing to bombarding Tomb Raider beauty ANGELINA JOLIE with phone calls and flowers. Speaking from his hotel room in Los Angeles, Fred told me: “I was pretty upset when me and Britney ended. Was my heart broken? Yes. “Things were getting out of control and Justin was calling her and freaking out. He had never seen her with another guy before. “I have run into him a couple of times since then but nothing was said about Britney.” Fred went on: “My whole time with Britney was really good for me. “For two weeks we were hanging out all the time. Fe Starts Personal Web Log At Xanga.com?

Felicia, Britney's personal assistant and better known to Britney fans as Fe started a personal web log at Xanga.com on Saturday. Here is her post from Monday, August 04: Thought I'd finally update this. Well Saturday night (Aug. 2nd) was the Teen Choice Awards. Britney had a hard time preparing for it. First off, we were late to rehearsal on the Friday afternoon, so it delayed everyone else. :( Then to top it off Britney's outfit was not ready so Kurt and Bart (her stylists ofcourse) fixed something for Britney in only 2 HOURS. Britney did not like what she had on. (It was purple dress) And it's not really her color. But she went with it and made the best of it. As you know, Britney will be performing a couple of new tracks of her album on the NFL KickOff celebration. It'll be this September on NBC. So be sure not to miss it. In other news, my cousin just had a first child. She is just the cutest thing ever. Britney even put her to sleep by her sweet voice. Ok, that's all for now. We have not verified that she is actually behind this web log but still it would be interesting if it really was her so we get a behind the scenes look at Britney. So be warned, this could be just someone impersonating her.

Britney took a well-deserved and much enjoyed break to a fabulous spa in Arizona. One afternoon, she and her friend Jenny took a ride through the countryside in a convertible. They just put the top down and drove until sundown. They called me from a coffee shop telling me about the spiritual feelings they both experienced while taking in the scenery. I'm not surprised considering all the mysticism passed down through Native American legends in that area. Britney has really loved decorating her condo in L.A. She says it's so nice to live where everything seems so convenient. Pool, spa, valet service and daily maintenance are great. Living near the beach is serene and the atmosphere is very women-friendly. Recently, Britney went to New York to attend Larry's (her manager) birthday party. It was a surprise party for him attended by a small, intimate group. Jamie Lynn and I weren't able to make it because of Jamie Lynn's Nickelodeon schedule. We made sure to call Larry and wish him a very Happy Birthday! And last, but not least, Britney is in a quest to finish this album and is hard at work in the studio as I write. She says it feels like her natural habitat lately. She is so ready to share her new music with everyone! Post your thoughts here!

Teen Choice Awards Airs Wednesday Night

The 2003 Teen Choice Awards were taped Saturday, August 2nd at the Universal Amphitheatre in Hollywood, CA. Britney presented the Choice Movie Actress, Comedy award to Queen Latifah for "Bringing Down the House" with WWE star wrestler Dwayne Johnson ("The Rock"). No word yet if Britney won her nominations for Choice Female Hottie and Choice Female Fashion Icon. MTV reports in the several other music categories will not be announced until the show. I guess you'll have to watch and see; the award show will air on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. As always Britneyspears.org has pictures of the event. Album Will Be Released November 18th!

According to a contest advertisement on NFL Kickoff Live 2003 website and NFL.com, where you can join the NFL kickoff festivities including meeting Britney. The AD says that her album will be released on November 18th and to check for further updates at her site. So looks like we now have the official date for her album release as November 18th! It's pushed back from what we all originally believed to be an October release. I guess a lot people will be getting Britney album for Christmas gifts. Britney to Debut Two New Songs At NFL Special

Britney Spears will unveil at least two new songs when she rings in this year's football season along with Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin and other performers. Prior to the September 4 game between the New York Jets and Washington Redskins, Spears will perform a concert for the NFL Kickoff Weekend in Washington, D.C., the NFL announced Monday. While Spears hasn't figured out the breakdown of her set yet, she's expected to sing three to four songs, including at least two new ones, her spokesperson said. Aretha Franklin will sing the national anthem. Last year Bon Jovi kicked off the festivities with a traffic-stopping Times Square concert before the Giants' game against the San Francisco 49ers, and this year's concert promises to be an even larger affair. The second annual football and music festival, which will take place at the National Mall, will salute America's military and other public servants. More than 20,000 troops and their families are expected to attend the event, while more than 800,000 servicemen and women in 165 countries are expected to watch on TV. Meanwhile, Spears is working on plans for a TV show of her own. Negotiations are ongoing for the singer to executive produce a daily syndicated talk show, which she would occasionally appear on, her spokesperson said. The format would likely use elements from news-magazine programs as well as traditional talk shows. Spears, however, will not be hosting, and no other host has been selected yet. "NFL Kickoff Live From the National Mall" will be televised live on ABC at 8 p.m., leading up to the season opener between the Jets and the Redskins at Landover, Maryland's FedEx Field. Princess Britney Of England on our forums put up the full text of the Elle article. Just wanted to thank her for taking the time to write it up for all us fans to read, especially for anyone having trouble finding the magazine in stores. Things you can’t help noticing about Britney Spears when you first meet her ….. She smells of peaches. Her skin is tanned all over in an enticing shade of toffee. She chews emerald green gum. Her nails are shockingly bitten. When she’s excited she talks so fast and high that you have to imagine what you have missed. When she’s calm her voice sounds like a slow deep river on a hot night in Louisiana. She says the word “freakin” a lot. If she isn’t dragging a Marlboro light, she’ll be sucking on an iced café latté, and if she’s listening to music she prefers it be played at a level that’s louder than bombs. “Turn that up,” she yells from behind the screen where’s she getting her make-up done. Seconds later the sound of electro clash DJ monster hell is blasting out of the three foot high amps in this New York studio where Britney is about to be photographed for ELLE. It’s so loud that everyone else has to communicate by lip-reading or mime. Hey, the girl knows what she likes. If it’s not something she can sing along to, it has to be something she can pump her body to. With her tan-set to gleaming and several feet of mermaid like extensions attached to her neat blonde bob she was sporting when she arrived, she skips across the studio in a caramel-towelling robe, one arm waving in the air. Britney Debuts 5 Tracks At BMG Event

FMQB reported that Britney previewed 5 tracks at the BMG Event and also recieved a plaque commemorating 50 million in worldwide album sales from Jive President Barry Weiss. Let the media blitz commence! Britney Spears, who is further distancing herself from that "not so innocent" label, will appear topless in a magazine to the delight of many men, but, it'll be in the wo-man's magazine, Elle. The Sun broke the story with advance photos in today's edition. Spears - shown in a shot that will appear on the cover - again bares her soul and her body while dishing more dirt on Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell in a cover story titled, "Britney Reloaded: 'I Can Forgive But I Can't Forget…'" The 21-year-old Britney claims she really is a shy girl. That explains why she posed in skimpy black knickers in Elle's September issue. Britney is heating things up in more ways than one but says of Timberlake, "He'll always have a place in my heart." Spears also made an appearance at BMG's three-day extravaganza Wednesday night in New York. Spears looked stunning in a white dress when she appeared before Jive Records' label executives to receive a plaque commemorating 50 million in worldwide album sales from Jive President Barry Weiss, who also debuted five tracks from Spears’ forthcoming CD due this fall. The music is sure to surprise many. Look for a new Britney single to be released by mid-September if not sooner.
