Republicans Don't Want Britney

Posted by A51JM at 5:29 PM | Comments

Rumors  I just want to note that this really sounds like it was put together by taking pieces of scraps and quotes from people and rewritten to sound the way it does. It is also from World Entertainment News Network which is famous for reporting rumors. So therefore, I am just putting this up in rumors because I feel it is kind of funny what they say.

President George W. Bush has nixed plans for Republican supporter Britney Spears to perform at the party's New York convention this week - fearing she's too raunchy.

The unwitting star of Michael Moore's controversial documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11, was initially keen to allow the "Me Against The Music" singer to join the bill but changed his mind at the last minute after the news was leaked to furious party hardliners.

According to insiders, Bush was already trying to placate those who were angered by the decision to invite Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to speak at the crucial conference ahead of November's Presidential elections.

One Republican source whispers, "We are a serious political party and really don't need the likes of Britney to promote us.

"Besides which, with the headlines she's been recently attracting we think she'd do more harm than good to the Bush cause.

"We don't get what Britney has to offer our cause."

Britney's Gum Back On Sale

Posted by A51JM at 2:31 AM | Comments

Web  A piece of chewing gum belonging to pop princess Britney Spears is back on the eBay auctions website.

The gum - spat out during Britney's recent visit to the UK - had been removed because the seller advertised it as containing her DNA.

The seller was forced to change the wording posted on the website because, according to the auction's rules, the sale of human body parts is banned.

The gum was discarded in February in the foyer of the Sanderson Hotel in London.

According to the seller it was put straight into an airtight container and has not been touched since it was inside Britney's mouth.

The infamous gum even has teeth marks in it.

Republicans Don't Want Britney At Convention

Posted by A51JM at 10:20 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  MSNBC reported that Some GOPers have a message to Britney Spears: Stay home.

The belly-baring pop star is being courted to attend the Republican convention in New York next week, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, and that has sparked outrage among some conservative groups.

“Through her immature antics, Spears has probably done more to undermine sexual morality than all the misguided legislation introduced in the United States over the last decade,” the Illinois Family Institute wrote in an e-mail to members. “It would be the height of hypocrisy for a party that claims to represent wholesome values to celebrate her.”

Citing Spears’ “lesbian” kiss with Madonna, her “general immodesty,” and her annulled marriage to a childhood friend, the group is urging Republicans to call the GOP’s convention hotline to protest any appearance by Spears.

Response to the e-mail has been “overwhelmingly positive,” the group’s executive director, Peter LaBarbera, tells The Scoop, though “a few people have argued that the Democrats have all the Hollywood celebrities so we need her star power, but I think that could be played to the Republicans’ advantage. . . . [Many] Americans are sick of celebrities’ political views being shoved down their throat.”

The IFI isn’t the only conservative group that wants Britney to stay away from the GOP convention. “I do hope she won’t be there,” Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition tells The Scoop. “If she is there, I doubt that she’ll be gyrating on stage. And I hope she doesn’t have a wardrobe malfunction.”

hey...its the Republicans loss then.

First Kevin, Now Bryan

Posted by A51JM at 2:13 AM | Comments

Movie  Britney Spears is keeping it all in the family for her forthcoming "My Prerogative" video: Two of the closest men in her life are making cameos.

Spears' brother, Bryan, makes a brief appearance in the beginning of the video, while her fiancé, Kevin Federline, plays a crucial part at the end.

Spears' mother posted on the singer's Web site Monday, telling fans to keep an eye out for "that good-looking hunk of a son of mine," while also describing some of the shoot itself, and how the production managed to work around the singer's injury.

"Since Britney's knee is unable to do choreography, the video is all about capturing gorgeous close-ups and very subtle movement," Lynne Spears wrote. "It has an element of old Hollywood glamour and mystery."

Part of that mystery, though, comes from the video's story line, which makes it appear that Britney has crashed a party — literally — and needs a new dress after hers is soaked from driving into the pool.

After going to a bedroom and putting on a new dress, she makes her way to the party outside, where people are gathered, looking like they are waiting for someone, something. Only then is it revealed that the dress the singer put on is a wedding dress, and the party she's crashed is her own wedding.

As she walks down the aisle, the groom is then revealed to be Federline, her real-life future husband, according to a source close to Spears, and the video's statement is then made all the more clear, as she sings rebelliously, "It's my prerogative."

The Scary Life of Britney Spears

Posted by A51JM at 1:58 AM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Britney Spears is in the passenger seat of her black Mercedes G500 SUV, reaching speeds close to 90 mph. With fiancé Kevin Federline at the wheel, the duo attempt to outwit, outsteer and outrun seven paparazzi on their tail.

But there's a third little face in the back seat of Spears' G-Wagon, which explains the paparazzi frenzy. Federline and Spears are returning his 2-year-old daughter, Kori, to her mother's home in Orange County, which means this could very likely be Spears' first meeting with Federline's ex-girlfriend, Shar Jackson.

Today, 25-year-old paparazzo Mel Bouzad is on a wild ride as he attempts to capture that treasured family portrait on film, a photo that could net him more than $50,000.

Although he'd like you to believe otherwise, Bouzad — while a perfectly likable bloke — is not all that different from the ruthless photographers portrayed in the new Mel Gibson-produced film Paparazzi, which opens Sept. 3. When it comes to getting "the shot," Bouzad, like the star-hunters of Paparazzi, allows nothing to stand in his way, sometimes not even the law.

He was the first to photograph Cameron Diaz with Justin Timberlake (at a Studio City bowling alley) and credits himself with being "the one" who captured Jennifer Lopez with Ben Affleck in Savannah, Ga., after the couple called off their engagement.

That photo earned him a cool $120,000. But to land today's anticipated shot, he'll have to engage in a freeway chase, crossing double yellow lines and speeding through red lights. If something goes wrong, it could cost him his driver's license, or even his life.

Whether you love the paparazzi or share George Clooney's disdain for the ground they stalk on, there's no denying these guys live an exciting life. And with demand for celebrity photos at an all-time high and with the weekly bidding war among Star, Us Weekly, People and In Touch magazines, there's a lot of money to be made.

Morning: Quarry sighted ...

We meet up with Bouzad at 9 a.m. in his 2002 Mercedes-Benz Kompressor, parked outside his high-rent Santa Monica apartment building. There's still a parking ticket on his windshield from the previous day, not an unfamiliar reminder of the traffic laws he routinely breaks in the pursuit of his art. "I bankroll the city of Santa Monica," Bouzad says, acknowledging that a parking or speeding ticket is a small price to pay for a shot that could net him thousands.

The paparazzi suspected the Spears/Jackson meeting could happen today because they spied Federline bringing Kori to Spears' home a few days earlier for their first "family" weekend. Now it's Monday, and Kori is due back home with Mama.

Bouzad has been keeping Spears under 18-hour-a-day surveillance at her new Malibu home. The surveillance will be increased to 24 hours around the clock as Spears' wedding date nears. The photographers' sources tell them the ceremony will take place in the fall.

As he cruises down the Pacific Coast Highway toward Spears' house, Bouzad catches a glimpse of a passing black Mercedes-Benz G500. "That was Jessica Simpson," he shouts in his strong British accent. "She must be coming from her home in Calabasas." Simpson was in the passenger seat, with her husband, Nick Lachey, at the wheel. Normally, Bouzad would spin his car around and pursue the hot MTV couple, but Star has hired him to get a photograph of a Malibu monastery Spears scouted over the weekend as a possible wedding locale.

A product of Fleet Street, the center of London's newspaper district, Bouzad has been snapping celebrities since he was 17. He moved to Los Angeles three years ago and runs his own agency, MB Pictures, which employs nine other photographers. Also on his payroll: many high-placed secret sources, including celebrities' bodyguards and personal assistants, as well as employees at airlines, hotels, hospitals, schools, restaurants, gyms, hair salons and tanning parlors. A hot tip could earn a source hundreds, or in the case of the Lopez/Affleck shot, thousands of dollars.

Bouzad has a $3,000 Pioneer in-car navigation system mounted to his dashboard that helps him find his prey. Two hundred celebrity addresses are programmed into the computer, in addition to the homes of such celeb offshoots as "Brit's mom" or "Brit's bro." With just a touch of a button, the system will guide him to any one of his programmed celebrities' homes. He also has a printout of 400 celebrity license plates.

Afternoon: Hunt resumes ...

Bouzad reaches Spears' house just in time to see the heavily tattooed Federline cruising home from the grocery store. "That guy's a chump," says Bouzad. "And you can print that."

Bouzad routinely injects his personal feelings for the celebs he hunts, maintaining contempt for most. He insists that if he invested enough time and manpower, he could find dirt on them all and systematically destroy their lives.

He gets lunch at 1:15 p.m., but as soon as Bouzad's cheeseburger arrives, he gets a call that "Brit's on the move."

He shoves his burger into a to-go box, retrieves his car keys from the valet, takes one bite of the burger, then discards his uneaten lunch in the restaurant parking lot and pulls his car onto the busy Pacific Coast Highway. One of his men is already following Spears and informs Bouzad that her car is about a minute away from passing him.

Bouzad spies Federline and Spears in his rearview mirror and pulls out to join a caravan of seven cars all in pursuit of the same shot. Spears has no license plate on the back of her rented SUV, but there's no doubting that it is her in the passenger seat sipping a beverage, her bare feet propped up on the dashboard.

As Federline turns the car south onto Interstate 405 (the San Diego Freeway), Bouzad realizes Federline and Spears are indeed returning Kori, who can now be seen bobbing up and down in the back seat (though safely strapped in), to her mother's home. The first shot of Spears with Jackson is what the tabloids have been craving for weeks. "This is a massive picture," Bouzad announces.

Bouzad knows Jackson lives in a gated community, so he sends two of his photographers to sneak in through the open gates — piggybacking behind entering cars — before the competition arrives. Bouzad phones an airport to see about the availability of a helicopter, but all are in use.

At 1:45 p.m., Federline crosses a set of double-yellow lines, illegally entering the carpool lane at 85 mph. Bouzad radios to his men to keep on their victim. "Don't worry about fines," he says. "I'll pay them. We don't want to miss this."

As the chase picks up speed, Federline makes frequent lane changes and drives off the freeway, then back on. He succeeds in losing two of his pursuers, but five cars remain on his tail. Then suddenly at 2 p.m. Federline gets off the freeway and pulls into a mini mart so Spears can make a pit stop, a common occurrence for her. "The girl's got such a weak bladder," Bouzad says.

A quick stop, a quick snap ...

The paparazzi abandon their cars in the parking lot and jump out to follow the barefoot Spears as she walks calmly into the store to request keys for the toilet. Informed the bathroom is already in use, Spears walks out to the back and patiently waits for the bathroom door to open. She signs an autograph for a little girl, providing a fun photo op for the frenzied photogs.

Bouzad is excited when he spots brand-new tattoos (perhaps temporary) on Spears' right hand — one a braid around her wrist, the other an image of a sun. Close-up photos of these alone will sell around the world for roughly $4,000.

After Spears finishes her business, the chase resumes. Bouzad confirms that his men already are inside the gated community, so it is his hope that once the caravan arrives, only Federline and Spears will pass through the gates, allowing his inside guys to grab the exclusive shot. A few miles later, that's exactly what happens.

"It's an exclusive, boys!" Bouzad announces, and he celebrates by pulling off the road and finally taking his own pit stop behind some bushes.

Not quite a trophy catch

But unfortunately, when he pulls into an Anaheim Starbucks and downloads the photos his men took, they're not the $50,000 images he had hoped for.

Spears never got out of the car, so Federline alone delivered Kori to Jackson. Federline kept a safe distance away as Jackson only briefly passed by Spears' window to collect a bag from the backseat.

Far from the happy meeting he'd anticipated, Bouzad now tries to sell the images as "Shar snubs Britney," insisting the photos show Jackson giving Spears a dirty look.

Star magazine passes on the photos, saying they're not strong enough to warrant reworking its layout, which is about to go to print. Bouzad considers starting a bidding war between People and Us Weekly (competitor In Touch, says Bouzad, has "no money"), but ultimately he decides to try to sell them exclusively to People for low five figures.

When People also passes the next morning, Bouzad is forced to unload the pics overseas. The American tabs, he says, will run his photos next week.

It's now 4:45 p.m. and even though Bouzad's day is coming to a close, his army is still hours away from retiring. Spears has been followed to a Blockbuster Video, where she's browsing DVDs.

As long as it takes Spears to select her movie, Bouzad's men will be waiting for her — and their next shot.

Lynne's Corner Updated

Posted by Rajiv at 10:22 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Lynne's Corner updated today, August 23, 2004.

Dear Fans,

First, we want to thank all of you who cast your votes and made "Toxic" the Single of the Year at the Teen Choice Awards!

Britney's knee is slowly healing. She's starting to walk better and better each day. Currently, she's shooting her video for "My Perogative" at the Paramour in Los Angeles. Jamie Lynn did her Teen Vogue shoot here so we were already familiar with this beautiful estate. There's a spooky story behind this home. The owner told us it's even scarier at night, so Jamie Lynn and her friends came to visit the set last night after dark. We all had so much fun browsing through the house and hearing stories about different area's on the property. Not to mention how Dan from management almost gave me a heart attack (but we won't go into that)! The video itself is going to be like none other. Since Britney's knee is unable to do choreography, the video is all about capturing gorgeous close ups and very subtle movement. It has an element of old Hollywood glamour and mystery- I think you'll love it! Oh, and please look for that good looking hunk of a son of mine in the video- he has a cameo right at the beginning.

Britney, Kevin and I are still diligently searching for the perfect home for them. They got back from a wonderful relaxing trip in Lake Tahoe- fishing, sleeping late, good food and I heard the view was breathtaking! It was an ideal vacation for rest and relaxation.

Jamie Lynn and I are going home for our 1st time since she began shooting her Nickelodeon show in June. We are so looking forward to seeing friends & family members and our beautiful home. Although there's been much whining and moaning- I do believe Jamie Lynn is excited about going back to school.

Britney's annual trip to her camp is right around the corner. She's really looking forward to meeting this year's campers. Johnny Mac, Nina Biggar and Donna Luther always do such a wonderful job at making the camp such a success every year. Everyone leaves with a huge smile on their face. Britney is so proud of her Foundation- and that's what is truly important in life, don't you agree?

Britney Sparks Green-eyed Monster In Women

Posted by A51JM at 5:38 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Britney sends nearly half of women under 25 into fits of jealousy, a survey has revealed.

And 58 per cent of women aged 25 to 35 are envious of former Friends star Jennifer Aniston.

While the two gorgeous stars might spark the green-eyed monster in many women on account of their mega-million fortunes as well as their looks, the survey claims women's jealousy goes much further.

Forty-nine per cent of UK women admit to getting jealous - 61 per cent of female friends and 35 per cent of work colleagues.

The survey for a health treatment company found 40 per cent said they got jealous of prettier, slimmer females while 19 per cent said they were envious of women with larger breasts.

But just two per cent said that women who were more intelligent made them jealous.

Looking at photos of the rich and famous dented the self-esteem of 31 per cent of women, according to the survey.

Student Emma Knowles said: 'I'd love to have Britney Spears's body, looks and bank balance. I admit to feeling jealous when I read about her expensive purchases or see her perfectly honed body in magazines.

'But my appetite for celebrity gossip draws me in.'

The 20-year-old, from Newcastle, added: 'Thankfully, some celebrity magazines show celebrities with spots and cellulite, so that makes me feel a little bit better about myself.'

Women over the age of 35 are more likely to envy creative high-achievers such as author JK Rowling and designer Stella McCartney - also both multi-millionaires.

The survey shows women in the south of England are the most jealous of all - with 81 per cent admitting to it.

Britney Has The Best Body

Posted by A51JM at 5:13 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Britney has been crowned "the best body in showbusiness" by a new internet poll.

The Toxic singer - who is engaged to dancer Kevin Federline - beat competition from Friends stunner Jennifer Aniston and busty babe Carmen Electra to claim the title.

More than 80,000 voters participated in the survey, run by a web forum, and Britney won with 30 percent of the vote.

A spokesperson says, "Her new bad-girl image is attracting fans rather than repelling them. Guys have no doubt about the fact she is the No 1 female celebrity they would love to bed."

Top 10 Most Expensive Music Video

Posted by A51JM at 9:49 PM | Comments

TV  Pop babe Britney Spears will attempt to convince critics she can laugh at her own high-profile personal mistakes -- by mocking her own wedding in an upcoming video.

The 22-year old pop superstar, who is currently planning her nuptials to dancer Kevin Federline, is plotting to poke fun at her wild ways in the eagerly anticipated promo for her cover of Bobby Brown's eighties hit My Prerogative.

"She wants to answer her critics and show people that she can do what she wants. Some of the ideas include a wedding scene, which will either be at the end of the video as a flashback," said a friend of Spears.

"It'll either be a Kevin lookalike, or be a mock-up of her wedding to Jason Alexander."

Spears shocked her fans by marrying childhood friend Alexander in a spontaneous ceremony in Las Vegas earlier this year. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.

Sources say Spears' record label, Jive, is spending $7.2 million to market and promote the music video into a "happening, rather than just a pop video."

"Everyone's going to remember where they were when they first saw it."

Track That Britney Left Out Of The Zone Is A Hit Online

Posted by Rajiv at 1:35 PM | Comments

Web  MTV reported that the latest Britney Spears song creating a buzz is actually an old song. No, not her upcoming cover of Bobby Brown's '80s hit "My Prerogative" — one of her own old songs.

"(I've Just Begun) Having My Fun" is a top-10 download on iTunes, thanks in part to fans speculating on Web sites and message boards that it's a new song from the singer's forthcoming greatest-hits album. The "new" tune, however, is actually from the In the Zone sessions.

The dance song — with an electro groove reminiscent of No Doubt's "Hella Good" — describes a make-believe encounter with a boy at a party that made her feel a little wild but leaves her falling asleep in a chair. Lyrics to this song include "I'm just a crazy kind of girl/ I'll tell it to the world/ I've just begun having my fun/ Inside me there's something I've found/ I wanna shop around/ I've just begun/ Don't wanna settle down."

Spears worked on the song with producers Bloodshy & Avant, the same Swedish duo who worked with her on "Toxic" and her "My Prerogative" cover, which will be the first single from Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, due November 16.

Just as the U.S. version of Spears' "In the Zone" DVD included bonus tracks from the album of the same name's recording session, so did the European DVD, where "(I've Just Begun) Having My Fun" was first released (the U.S. version includes "Don't Hang Up" and "The Answer" as its bonus tracks).

The first time "(I've Just Begun) Having My Fun" saw Stateside release was through an exclusive deal last year with Wal-Mart and Sony Connect. That deal ended recently, leading iTunes to add the song on Tuesday to its available list of downloads, where it's currently #7 on a list of songs that mostly includes more standard hits such as Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me" and Usher's "Yeah!" The song is also available from Real's Rhapsody service.

Madonna Buys Britney Priceless Gift

Posted by A51JM at 12:29 PM | Comments

Rumors  Legendary singer Madonna has bought Britney Spears a "priceless" 12th century Kabbalah book to celebrate her engagement to dancer Kevin Federline.

The pop icons are devout followers of the mystical offshoot of Judaism, so the Toxic singer is thrilled with the special bound edition of Zohar - also known as Book Of Splendour - and refuses to go anywhere without it.

Spears says, "It paints a bigger picture than even the Bible. It's just so interesting to me because I've never read stuff like this before."

An insider adds, "Britney was delighted with the book. She has read it thoroughly and seems completely taken with it. Madonna has always looked out for Britney.

"When Britney was going through a tough time earlier this year Madonna used Kabbalah teachings to help her through."

Spears, 22, may have difficulty with the unusual gift, since Orthodox rabbis have to study for 20 years before reading the ancient book and warn it's too complex for anyone under 40 to comprehend.

Music  Britney Spears' cover of Bobby Brown's 1988 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit "My Prerogative" will serve as the first single and title of her upcoming "Greatest Hits" album. The full track list has yet to be unveiled for the set, due Oct. 16 via Jive. "My Prerogative" is expected to hit U.S. radio outlets in mid-September, with a video in the works.

The album will include a limited-edition disc of remixes, according to Spears' official Web site. In addition, a DVD collection of the artist's music videos will be released the same day.

MTV Newlyweds: Britney & Kevin

Posted by A51JM at 5:35 PM | Comments

Rumors  Jessica Simpson might have told the press that after three seasons, she and hubby Nick Lachey are done with their MTV Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica reality series, but leave it to MTV land an even bigger "pop princess" to take her place. According to US Weekly, Britney Spears, the queen of the pop princesses herself, is now "in talks" to take over the "title role" on Jessica's Newlyweds series.

The 22-year-old Britney recently became engaged to 26-year-old backup dancer Kevin Federline, with the surprise engagement generating "homewrecker" headlines and criticism from Federline's former girlfriend, actress Moesha actress Shar Jackson, who was eight months pregnant with Federline's second child at the time of the engagement announcement.

"She can't wreck a home by herself, but if you're a real woman and you find out someone you're seeing has extra baggage, you say, `Go home and take care of your business,'" Jackson told US Weekly at the time. "If she and Kevin want to be a couple, then that's fine with me. But there are two little kids she better be prepared to babysit. They might be perfect for each other. You both smoke, you both drink and you both cheated on significant others after three years. You guys are made for each other. Have a good life."

According to the magazine's latest report, Britney's interested in doing the MTV program because the superstar singer "wants Kevin to be just as famous as she is."

This isn't the first time that Britney has been said to be "in talks" regarding a reality show of her own. Back in April, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Britney was shopping a reality show of her own, titled Ontourage, to various television networks. No broadcast deal was apparently ever struck however, and the European leg of the her "Onyx Hotel" concert tour that the series would have documented came and went without any further news about the proposed series.

Speculating on Spears

Posted by A51JM at 1:35 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Will a Kabbalah rabbi officiate? Or a Baptist preacher?

Will Britney Spears, 22, and Kevin Federline, 26, be married in California? Louisiana? Or some surprise exotic locale?

In November, as most reports say? Or this month?

The rush is on to cobble together details about the wedding of the year.

Lynne Spears, Britney's mom and manager, posted a cheery wedding message on the bride-to-be's official Web site Aug. 6. "Wedding plans are going along smoothly. Britney and I both are getting very excited!"

Even Brit chimed in with, "This is the happiest time of my life."

But details are sketchy, and the singer's camp remains mum.

"It's the second-biggest wedding ever, after J. Lo," says Us Weekly's Janice Min. Details keep changing, she says, in an effort to thwart the media. "It's become a game of Catch Me If You Can."

The only thing that's certain is that the bride is getting guidance. She told People magazine in July that she had consulted a wedding planner, who helped pick out her 5-carat diamond engagement ring (which rumor has she paid for herself). Meanwhile, California-based event planner Yifat Oren denies reports that she has been hired by the bride.

But solid details or not, gossip outlets are busy speculating:

• When:

In Touch Weekly is confident nuptials are scheduled for this month. But the New York Post reported Monday that the pop diva has changed her plans from a Nov. 20 ceremony in L.A. to Nov. 14 in Santa Barbara. That's just two days before Spears' greatest-hits album is due.

• Where:

Many early reports pointed to a lavish ceremony at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel, but now other locales are emerging. In Touch reports that the couple will choose the spot just days before the ceremony, and it might be a surprise location.

British tabs suggest that Spears is preparing her new five-bedroom, beachside Malibu home for a garden wedding.

• The wedding party:

It's growing. Originally, reports called for five bridesmaids and five groomsmen. Now, Us reports, six are in the party, including little sis Jamie Lynn and Spears' assistant. Her brother Bryan is a groomsman, the magazine says. Britain's Daily Star says two of Britney's backup dancers will be in the groom's lineup. Also rumored to be standing up with the groom: Jennifer Lopez's ex Cris Judd, who is a pal of Federline's, according to the New York Post. The groomsmen have been fitted for tuxes, Star reports, and the newlyweds-to-be have bought the attendant gifts.

• Wedding guests:

Us says Shar Jackson, 27, mother of Federline's two children, hasn't decided whether their daughter Kori, 2, will go to the wedding. And British papers say Madonna and Guy Ritchie can expect to be on the invite list, which is widely reported to include 200 guests.

• Decor details:

London's Sun reports that the wedding budget is about $1.8 million, including $180,000 for white tulips from Amsterdam.

• The gown:

What to wear could be the biggest question, especially for a bride who sported ripped jeans and a trucker hat for her Las Vegas wedding to Jason Alexander in January. (The marriage was over in 55 hours.) Lynne Spears told the Associated Press that Britney has picked out a gown, and it "is the most beautiful dress ever."

Among the most astonishing reports: Spears won't wear white. The Daily Star expects to see the blushing bride in a brilliant shade of crimson.

Britney Makes Party-Crashing Her Prerogative In Next Video

Posted by A51JM at 11:57 AM | Comments

TV  Britney Spears' next single, a cover of Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative," makes a statement about her life, and the accompanying video will too, making it clear that Spears follows no rules but her own.

The singer ignores streetlights and traffic laws as her sports car speeds up a dark road in the Hollywood Hills toward a hillside manor, which has an air of old Hollywood about it, according to a copy of the video treatment obtained by MTV News. A party is in progress, which the singer gladly disrupts, jumping the curb in her car, crashing through a fence and splashing into the pool.

That sort of thing might put a damper on most people's party plans, but Spears just crawls atop the car as it sinks and starts singing, "Everybody's talking/ All this stuff about me/ Why can't they just let me live?".

Her dress soaking wet and clinging to her skin, she steps off the car and goes into the mansion, giving partygoers a look that commands respect and fear. She passes couples making out on the couches as she makes her way into a stainless-steel kitchen, where gourmet food is on display. She grabs a butcher knife, walks across the kitchen brandishing the knife, and just as she steps out of the room, she cuts the straps off her wet dress, letting it fall to the floor.

While it's not clear if she's wearing anything now, Spears walks into a study, where a man sits in the dark with his back to her, watching a black-and-white film projected on a pull-down screen. It looks like a skin flick from the 1940s or '50s, but as he watches it, his cigar smoke curling up and illuminated in the projector beam, it becomes clear that the sexy footage is actually of Spears.

She then heads into a dressing room, where mirrors show all angles of her wearing nothing but her knickers, high heels, stockings and a short fur jacket, as she continues singing, "Why can't they just let me live?/ It's my prerogative." From there she heads into a bedroom, where a dress is laid out on the comforter. She walks toward the bed and away from the camera, letting her jacket fall to the ground. She holds up the new dress as the camera cuts to the party outside, where people are waiting, anxiously, for something, someone.

What they're waiting for, and what they get, will be the surprise of the video, which we won't reveal here. After all, it's our prerogative.

The "My Prerogative" video is slated to shoot later this month. Spears' Greatest Hits: My Prerogative LP is due November 16.

Latest Marital Rumor

Posted by A51JM at 8:33 PM | Comments

Rumors  Well after a week or so after NW reported that, Britney broke off the wedding to Kevin Federline; hundreds of other news organizations from online and local affiliate news stations are reporting the same news. Why the break up after such a cozy relationship? A bitter argument. According to Britain's Daily Sport newspaper, the wedding was going to take place later this month but after a bitter argument, Britney told Kevin the engagement was off during a photo shoot for the new perfume "Curious.

A close friend says, "The dispute seemed to erupt over nothing. One minute they were all smiles, the next, it all blew up. There's no way a marriage is on the cards if it carries on like this. "Britney tore into Kevin with a fierce verbal lashing and her minders and mom looked on really embarrassed. She said she didn't want to get married. "It wasn't until her brother Bryan and mother Lynne intervened and calmed things down that she stopped shouting."

Stalker - Daniel Lachance Returns To Louisiana

Posted by Rajiv at 2:32 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  2theadvocate.com is reported that: Daniel Lachance wants to marry Britney Spears. But first Lachance wants to try clearing his name, which is why he sat on a Greyhound bus for 42 hours last week and risked arrest by visiting Hammond for two days.

Lachance, who hopped between two motels to stay a step ahead of police, returned to Louisiana to speak with the media. His message, which came in a French Canadian accent: "I didn't do what they said I did."

What they said the 25-year-old did is show up at Spears' mother's house on April 12 and her father's house on April 27.

Both live in the pop starlet's childhood hometown, Kentwood. Lachance was booked on stalking and trespassing counts both times, earning a nickname he shares with a few other of her most-zealous fans: "The Britney Spears Stalker."

"I'm not the stalker," he said. "You need months and months of sneaking around and trying to know about the person. I just went once with flowers. To do stalking you have to do way worse than I did."

Lachance pleaded no contest in June to two counts of stalking and was given a 6-month suspended sentence on the conditions that he go directly to the airport, fly home, get counseling and never return to Kentwood.

Presidential Candidate Traveling in Britney's Bus?

Posted by A51JM at 12:14 AM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Looks like my hometown newspaper, The Chicago Sun-Times, recently is bringing exclusive news. The reason I say that is because Michael Sneed, a columnist at The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a Republican source revealed to him that the buses President Bush and Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry are using to travel the country were formerly used as tour buses by Britney and Cher. Now the Republican source didn't know which bus belonged to whom and which candidate is using that bus right now; however one bus did contain a tanning bed that was removed when it was renovated for the presidential tour. I'm guessing that bus was Britney's because Britney did have a tanning bed in her tour bus.

Lynne Wants Britney To Be More Like Reese

Posted by A51JM at 12:00 AM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Bill Zwecker, entertainment columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, reports as Britney is moving on with her life, she is also going through another re-invention; from Mickey Mouse to sexy teen vixen; and now finally a soon to be wife and step-mom. With all this going on and events in Britney's past, Lynne Spears is becoming a bigger and bigger influencing factor in Britney's life. "A source deep inside the Spears camp tells this column Lynne Spears just threw the current issue of Vanity Fair magazine in Britney's lap, saying ''This is who your role model is gonna be. ... It's all about stability, family, husband and kids!" Who was Lynne referring to? None other than Reese Witherspoon and her cover story on her home life, marriage, and relationship with her children.

And what about worries that her fans have drifted away? Not to worry because Britney will be coming up with photo layouts in more family-oriented publications, plus a change in the direction of her music, fashion and shows, which will be geared toward recapturing important segments of her audience that Lynne fears may have drifted away.

New Single Released?

Posted by A51JM at 10:50 PM | Comments

Music  Chris, a huge Britney fan, emailed me about RollingStone.com putting up a review of "(I've Just Begun) Having My Fun." Now people told me the song is on the International In The Zone DVD on the bonus CD but I never knew that it was released as a single. I want to get to the bottom of this so, fans email me back on your take on this. Could it be a new single...maybe a promo?

Rolling Stone

A lot of other websites are reporting this song as a new release single off of "Greatest Hits" appearently the song isn't even on the album, its on the International In The Zone DVD on the bonus CD.

Britney To Attend Olympics Sporting Event

Posted by A51JM at 10:38 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  As I reported before about Britney flying to Athens to have a luxurious cruise around the Greek Islands with Kevin and twelve of her friends. Now local CBS affiliate in Jacksonville, Florida is reporting that Britney will be one celebrity; along with Naomi Campbell, Julia Roberts, Jack Nicholson, and David and Victoria Beckham; that will attend the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Now I am just reminding everyone that this does come from World Entertainment News Network, and we all know that they have been wrong with news in the past and have a slight problem with exaggerating the truth at times.

Britney Covering "My Prerogative" - It's Official

Posted by A51JM at 10:23 PM | Comments

Music  MTV News reported that Britney Spears plans to knock Bobby Brown's socks off by covering his trademark hit, "My Prerogative."

The singer has chosen to remake the 1988 song for the first single off her next project, a greatest-hits album due November 16 that is now to be called, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, according to her label. The cover, according to those who've heard it, doesn't sound much like the original and has a Bloodshy & Avant touch to it, a reference to the Swedish production team of Christian "Bloodshy" Carlsson and Pontus Avant. The pair produced the song and last worked with Spears on "Toxic," where they embellished her vocals with a techno-lite beat.

The choice of this particular song could also be interpreted — like "Overprotected" and "Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" — as a statement on the singer's life and the media reaction to some of her recent decisions, including her engagement to dancer Kevin Federline. The song's lyrics read, "Everybody's talking all this stuff about me/ Why don't they just let me live/ I don't need commission/ Make my own decisions/ That's my prerogative."

The song, which will hit radio on September 14, will be one of two new tracks on the collection. A separate greatest-hits DVD will be released on the same day as the album.

Britney Bears Kevin On Chest

Posted by A51JM at 4:12 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Britney Spears has marked her upcoming wedding to dancer Kevin Federline by having her own set of 'Mrs Federline' T-shirts made.

The 22-year-old Toxic singer and Federline were shopping at trendy Los Angeles boutique Kitson when she spotted PRIORITIES' 'Mrs Clooney', 'Mrs Kutcher', 'Mrs Pitt' and 'Mrs Timberlake' tops.

She then joked to the staff, "There ought to be a 'Mrs Federline' shirt," prompting the company to make her three such tops in three different colours.

Spears also bought herself an 'I love Kevin' make-up bag.

All In the Family

Posted by A51JM at 4:08 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Cover story article featured in People Magazine.

Spears was excited to spend time with Federline's daughter Kori on Aug. 5. "She was spirited and really happy," says director Dave Meyers. Her connection to Kori's dad, he says, is "very sweet."

Since her engagement in June to dancer Kevin Federline, Britney Spears seems to have settled into a looooong, low-key premarital honeymoon. Shopping. A trip to Hawaii. Pool time. And, for a remarkably long stretch, no headlines. What's up? As she told PEOPLE last month: "I kissed a bunch of frogs and finally found my prince." Of course, this Prince Charming doesn't come with a white stallion – he comes with two kids: daughter Kori, 2, and 5-week old Kaleb (both by his ex-girlfriend, actress Shar Jackson). So on Aug. 5, Spears took time to try out her pending role of stepmom. After missing Kori's second birthday in July, Federline, 26, brought his daughter to an L.A. set where Spears was shooting a commercial for her new Elizabeth Arden perfume, Curious (in stores next month).
In what a source says was their second get-together – their first was just before Kaleb was born – Spears, 22, made it up to Kori. "She wanted to go to the trailer to see her whenever she could," says the commercial's director, Dave Meyers. Adds another source: "They were very playful. They had fun. They posed for pictures. You can call it a family portrait."

If only a partial one. The more complete picture, of course, includes Federline's ex, Jackson. The actress, 27, has yet to meet Spears, but not because of any ill will, says a friend of Jackson's. (Though for the record, rumors that Spears sent Jackson flowers on the day she delivered Kaleb and bought her a $600,000 home in Orange County are false. Says her pal: "Shar was joking that she'd love to see the keys!") As her friend tells it, "There is nothing standing in the way. It seems to be a timing thing."
Indeed, in addition to rehabbing the knee she injured June 8, forcing the cancellation of her tour, Spears has been busy working on her next album, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, due Nov. 16, which will include a remake of Bobby Brown's 1988 hit of the same name. Says Spears's spokeswoman: "Britney is enjoying her time off. She's getting her knee better, learning how to cook and enjoying time with her family and getting to know her new family."

News Shock - R&B Star Warns Federline!

Posted by A51JM at 11:54 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  In a shocking event, R&B star Usher is warning Kevin Federline to be careful! "Good luck - you're going to need it. Kevin is who I'm talking about. You've got to be careful, man," warns Usher. Not suprising since Usher is in fact a good friend of Britney's ex Justin Timberlake. I guess guys gotta help guys out? People warning Kevin on marrying Britney - I can truthfully say I never thought that would happen.

Big Step For Britney

Posted by A51JM at 11:39 PM | Comments

Miscellaneous  Britney Spears, 22, is gearing up for her role as stepmother, meeting one of the two children fathered by her fiancé, Kevin Federline, 26, with his ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, 27.

People reports that on Aug. 5, Federline brought 2-year-old Kori to the Los Angeles set where Spears was filming a perfume commercial. Spears "wanted to go to the trailer to see her whenever she could," director Dave Meyers told the mag. Spears "was spirited and really happy."

The trio posed for pictures, People reports, but the family portrait isn't quite complete. Brit has yet to meet Jackson or Federline's newest child, a son, 5-week-old Kaleb.

People says there is no ill will between Spears and Jackson. (And rumors that Spears bought Jackson a home in Orange County are not true, the magazine says.) Rather, the timing just hasn't been right.

Brit has been busy in the months before her wedding (no official date yet). She has been shopping with her mother. There was a trip to Hawaii with Federline and a new home to purchase and fumigate in California.

Naturally, Jackson's busy, too, what with two tots in tow. But she also has The Shar Jackson Project, a reality show she's making that will showcase the struggles of being a single parent while pursuing a music and acting career.

That full family portrait could surface sooner than we think.

Momma Spears Says No

Posted by A51JM at 2:12 PM | Comments

Rumors  Britney Spears' mother Lynne has ruined the singer's plans to have a pre-wedding tattoo session with fiancee Kevin Federline before their marriage ceremony.

The Toxic star and dancer Federline have already had a set of matching tattoos together earlier this year - Britney had a pair of pink dice on her left inner wrist, while Federline opted for a larger image of blue dice on his right forearm.

The pop star and her husband-to-be were planning to get another set of body artwork on their wedding morning in November to bless their marriage, and have been pouring over designs for weeks.

A friend says, "They want to get something symbolic that will mean something for them in years to come".

The couple had planned to go under the needle hours before the ceremony, but Lynne has halted the plans.

The 22-year-old star is furious at her mom's decision, but Lynne is insisting that the marriage should be traditional - and that means the bride not seeing the groom in the morning.

Note that all this is still pure rumors, however Shar Jackson is now living in a huge apartment in California after Britney found out that Shar was living in cheap hotel rooms. Now mind you all that this is coming from News of the World newspaper, but according to them Britney has even agreed to help Shar move in.
