Pregnant pop star Britney Spears believes she is destined to give birth by Caesarean section next month.
Spears is set to follow in the footsteps of several celebrity mothers who opt for the birth method over the natural way.
"I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation," she said. "I don't know why."
"But I hope so. I don't want to go through the pain."
"My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life. So, if a Caesarean doesn't happen, I'll be like, 'Epidural, please.'"
"Hopefully my athletic abilities will take over. Kevin [Federline] is going to hold my hand."

Though we mentioned this a few days ago, MonsterandCritics further reported that pregnant pop star Britney Spears has snubbed the Los Angeles baby shop which revealed the sex of her unborn child when she spent $100,000 creating a nursery recently.
The Toxic singer and her husband Kevin Federline were left seething when a source at Beverly Hills store Petite Tresor told the media they had bought baby boy clothes during a shopping trip.
But the expectant couple had their revenge when they transformed a room in their California mansion into a luxurious nursery by snubbing Petite Tresor in favour of two independent consultants.
Spears spokesperson tells PageSix.com, "Britney hired two independent decorators for the nursery - and it was not Petite Tresor. That store should stop talking about Britney." |

Britney Denies Yelling At A 13-Year Old Girl |

Britney Spears has slammed reports she verbally abused a 13-year-old girl on the set of her younger sister Jamie Lynn's TV show, insisting she merely gave the child a "sisterly talking to". The pregnant Toxic singer was enraged to hear about tensions brewing between her beloved sibling and co-star Alexa Nikolas, and rushed to the Zoey 101 set last week to defend Jamie Lynn. But although a source tells website PageSix.com she "proceeded to scream that Alexa was an 'evil little girl,' and that she had better watch herself or she 'will never work in this town again!'", Spears insists she was acting as any big sister would. A spokeswoman for Spears says, "Jamie Lynn and another girl on set were having problems, as 13-year-olds do." "Britney did have words with the girl, but felt she was sticking up for her sister. She did not yell by any means, she just gave the girl a sisterly talking to and wondered why they just couldn't all get along." But the on-set source says, "Alexa was in tears. She was sobbing and totally upset - it was totally uncalled for." "While Jamie Lynn is the star, Alexa still works there. And the fight was a petty, 13-year-old thing between Alexa and Jamie Lynn, who is becoming a real pest. Britney should have stayed out of it."

From the mouth oh Phil Maloof, owner of the Palms Resort in Las Vegas:
"I hired this great Louisiana chef, Britney Spears' father, Jamie. His food is so good I have to work out four times a week now. I'd have him cook some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I'd get a masseuse, we'd play some pool. Everything's here (at Phil's pad). I don't really like going out."

Britney Spears is getting closer by the day to giving birth to her first born. She's getting bigger and all of us that have been there know that after month eight, you just want to get a healthy baby delivered. Cue the hormones? With this latest item from Page Six, it appears Britney's may be running on high.
The NY Post gives a detailed confrontation between Britney, sister Jamie Lynn and her Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101" co-star a 13-year old girl named Alexa Nikolas.
Richard Johnson reports:
According to our on-set snitch: "Britney had the talent coordinator bring [co-star] Alexa Nikolas over to Jamie Lynn's trailer — where she proceeded to scream that Alexa was an 'evil little girl,' and that she had better watch herself or she 'will never work in this town again!' "
My note--I love that line. "You'll never work in this town again"--that's old school.
Continuing:
The source adds, "Alexa was in tears. She was sobbing and totally upset — I mean, she has been buying Britney CDs since she was 6, and then Britney tears her to pieces?
It was totally uncalled for. While Jamie Lynn is the star, Alexa still works there and it is technically her set. And the fight was a petty, 13-year-old thing between Alexa and Jamie Lynn, who is becoming a real pest. Britney should have stayed out of it."
A team Spears' spokeswoman gives this denial according to the paper:
"Jamie Lynn and another girl on set were having problems, as 13-year-olds do. Britney did have words with the girl, but felt she was sticking up for her sister. She did not yell by any means, she just gave the girl a sisterly talking to and wondered why they just couldn't all get along."
Britney "Rodney King" Spears?
What really happened here? It's hard to say. But if the report is accurate a a big-bellied, eight months pregnant, screaming Britney would probably be enough to make any 13-year old cry.

Britney Spends $100K On Nursery |

Britney who is just weeks away from giving birth, has spent more than $100,000 on the nursery for her baby boy with Kevin Federline — whom she has already named Preston Federline.
An insider says Spears hired Petite Tresor in Beverly Hills to decorate the room, which is covered in "expensive organic fabric on the walls and ceiling." The room will also have a hand-painted mural of tranquil nature scenes, expensive, hand-crafted Alder wood furniture, including shelves, a changing table and drawers.
A month ago, Spears dropped thousands more at Petite Tresor when she bought a load of baby boy clothes. Spears' spokeswoman shoots back: "Britney hired two independent decorators for the nursery — and it was not Petite Tresor. That store should stop talking about Britney." |

Shortly after sitting down to dinner with her family at Santa Monica’s Houston’s restaurant on August 17, Britney Spears ordered a glass of white wine. Since the pop superstar is eight months pregnant, her indulgence caught the attention of her fellow diners.
A glass of wine is one thing, but Britney’s next request really raised eyebrows. When a waiter, obviously noting her pregnant belly, suggested she might enjoy a virgin margarita, Britney replied, “No, I want the real thing.” The waiter served her the cocktail, and when she was finished she ordered another!
While many doctors say it’s okay for moms-to-be to have an occasional glass of wine, most advise against exceeding more than one alcoholic drink a day.
Check out In Touch for what could be causing Britney’s alcoholic indulgence. |

Page Six reported that Britney Spears stormed the set of little sister Jamie Lynn Spears' Nickelodeon show, "Zoey 101," last week and screamed at a 13-year-old co-star who had been feuding with Jamie Lynn — leaving the traumatized tweenster in tears.

Britney should have stayed out of it."
Another source says Jamie Lynn is "a real diva, and is even worse now because she is in the midst of contract negotiations and asking for a lot of money."
A spokeswoman for both Spears sisters says: "Jamie Lynn and another girl on set were having problems, as 13-year-olds do. Britney did have words with the girl, but felt she was sticking up for her sister. She did not yell by any means, she just gave the girl a sisterly talking to and wondered why they just couldn't all get along." |

Britney Spears has hosted a Moroccan themed baby shower - insisting friends and family attend the party "barefoot and beautiful".
The pregnant pop princess invited 19 guests to the gathering, held in a bamboo tent in the back garden of her Malibu mansion.
The lucky guests arrived at Britney's home where they walked over thousands of rose petals through the candle lit tent, before being treated to a Moroccan feast.
The 24-year-old said: "I wanted it to be really intimate with just my closest girlfriends and family members."
But the most anticipated arrival was husband Kevin's children Kaleb and Kori, who were shown around the party by Britney's mom Lynne.
Britney showed off her expanding bump in a black dress and cowboy boots, which she promptly removed to have Henna tattoos drawn on her toes. |

Christina Aguilera has lashed out at tabloids for allegedly fabricating a beef between her and Britney Spears.
Several magazines have run stories over the past few weeks quoting Aguilera as telling Contactmusic.com that Spears "let herself go" and that Aguilera "can't see a comeback in the cards" for Spears.
"It's really sad to see that some tabloid magazines still have to manufacture ill will between Britney and me," Aguilera wrote in a statement posted on her Web site. "We are both grown-ups and have the utmost respect for each other personally and professionally. If certain journalists want to throw their integrity out the window by spreading false information, then so be it. But I'm not falling for their lies and neither should my fans or Britney's."
Aguilera added that she wished nothing but the best for Britney, husband Kevin Federline and their family. "May they be blessed with continued success and future happiness," she wrote.
Contactmusic.com, located in the U.K., did not immediately respond to requests for a comment.
Aguilera is in the middle of recording her as-yet-untitled next album, due in the spring, according to her spokesperson.

Top 5 Most Memorable Britney VMA Events |

|
Britney Spears probably won't be gracing us with her presence this year at the MTV Video Music Awards — she's got a big event of her own coming up, since she's due to give birth soon. While going into labor at the VMAs would top her previous performances, we don't recommend it. And besides, she's made enough other unforgettable appearances to tide us over until she gets back into party shape.
Here are the top five most memorable Britney VMA moments ...
5. The First Time
Britney's first performance at the VMAs, at New York's Metropolitan Opera House in 1999, was shared with then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and his group, 'NSYNC. The stage was decked out like a classroom — inspired by her hit "... Baby One More Time" — but she showed she was no ordinary schoolgirl in her tight, spangly outfit. In retrospect, yes, she did look that innocent (see "'NSYNC, Britney Tag-Team On VMA Stage").
4. The Biker Chick
Britney had become an almost squeaky-clean sex symbol by 2002, so when she rocked a full-on fetish biker look at Radio City Music Hall, it was a bit strange — stranger still when the reason for her being onstage was to present a birthday cake to Michael Jackson. Jacko thought the glitter-dusted treble clef on the cake table was an "artist of the millennium" award (see "Christina Strips, Britney Goes Biker, Pink Shows Off Tats On VMA Red Carpet"), which he promptly and gratefully "accepted" as Britney smiled nearby.
3. Union of the Snake
Britney played snake charmer in her 2001 performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U," angering animal-rights advocates but delighting her fans (see "Britney, J. Lo, 'NSYNC Turn To Jungle, Ja Rule, Jacko For VMA Performances"). Not quite the sweaty, near-orgy of her music video for the track, but close enough.
2. The Strip Tease
Britney's take on the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" may not have been musically innovative, but tearing off her suit to reveal a flesh-toned outfit as she ripped into "Oops! ... I Did It Again" at the 2000 VMAs solidified her sex-symbol status (see "Britney, Eminem, 'NSYNC Get Wild, Weird For VMA Sets"). Who can blame any drooling fans who might have hoped that she'd actually take everything off?
1. The Kiss
Previously, Britney had been all tease. But with Madonna, she delivered (see "Beyonce, 50, Mary J., Metallica Overshadowed By Two Little Kisses"). Unlike another famous VMA kiss — the one that supposedly proved Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley's undying love — this one in 2003 did anything but turn viewers' stomachs. TiVo and VCR-equipped Britney fans replayed that moment over and over as if it were free soft-core porn. No wonder Britney's sitting out this year's VMAs — how, especially in her present condition, could she ever top that one? |

Welsh Singer Feels Sorry For Britney |

Welsh singer JEM is relieved she's achieved music stardom later in life, because she sympathises with BRITNEY SPEARS and CHARLOTTE CHURCH for growing up in the spotlight.
The THEY star, 30, believes achieving fame at a more mature age means she was able to bypass the intense media scrutiny placed teen singing sensations.
Jem, real name JEMMA GRIFFITHS, says, "I scoured the music channel VH1 trying to find someone who was older than me when they started out.
"I've always acted like a 20-year-old and I'm lucky in that I don't look my age. I think music keeps you young.
"You know, I'm glad I didn't get into this when I was a teenager, and I worry about girls who do.
"The tabloids are watching you as you hit puberty, and you're already washed up by the time you're 24. I did what I was supposed to be doing when I was 18 - partying and having a laugh." |

Britney To For Go Normal Birth For C-Section |

I’m not the only one obsessed with celebrity baby gossip. This is, like, the third story I’ve pulled straight from the pages of my prized US magazine subscription. America must be obsessed as well because this week’s issue is chock full of celeb baby news. According to US, Britney and K-Fed have picked out a name for their son, possibly “Preston,” which means “dweller at the church.” What church is that? The church of Starbucks? Ba-dum-bump. //rim shot// (I know we’re trying to be nice to Britney here, but I couldn’t resist.) The nursery is ready to go. Since Britney is “very into feng shui and kabbalah,” the nursery is white symbolizing “innocence.” Final baby plans include a C-section. “No marathon labor” for Ms. Spears. Her entire birth is “mapped out” says a source close to the singer. And since sources say, it must be true. |

A $3,800 Kabbalah Water Bath? |

Britney Spears baby must be feeling some odd vibes by now. First there was the paparazzo that was popped with a pellet gun outside of a baby shower in Malibu earlier this month. Then reports were that the expectant singer went on an after-hours reported $10,000 shopping spree at an exclusive Beverly Hills area baby store.
Reports there say, "it's a boy" as she purchased all baby boy clothes.
“Her rep called the store, Petit Tresor, and had it closed down and Britney came in with her body guards and spent about $10,000,” says a source. “She has very good taste, actually: elegant and simple. I was surprised.”
Now as the date for the birth of her reportedly bouncing baby boy nears, a blurb from Slate cites a trio of tabloids with this bizarre item.
In Touch reports that Spears "will deliver her baby in a special pool filled with 1,000 one-liter bottles of specially blessed Kabbalah water—costing a whopping $3,800!" And according to Us Weekly, the pop star may name her baby boy Preston, "an English moniker that means 'dweller at the church.' " Spears' husband, perennially unemployed former backup dancer Kevin Federline, is also getting spiritual: He was spotted by Star clutching a copy of Deepak Chopra's The Book of Secrets.
The caption? "Kevin: deeper."
Kevin--deeper? A $3,800 "Kabbalah water birth?"
This last month should be interesting. |

Looks like Britney Spears is having a boy.
The expectant singer went on an after-hours shopping spree at an exclusive Beverly Hills area baby store where she bought all baby boy clothes.

Spears had been in the store several weeks ago where she loaded up on items for girls, but says the source, “That must have been a ruse or for someone else. This was definitely for her unborn child.”
A spokeswoman for the store said she could “neither confirm nor deny” the Spears’ shopping spree. But another source backs up the buzz that baby Federline will be a boy: “They’re mulling several names, but the one they favor is Preston.” |

Bacon Says Spears 'may be bigamist' |

TV presenter Richard Bacon claims he could be legally married to pop princess Britney Spears.
Bacon, 29, said that he legally wed Britney, who is expecting her first child with husband Kevin Federline, while interviewing her in a hotel room for Channel 4's The Big Breakfast.
He claims that the marriage could make Britney, whose marriage to her childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander lasted less than three days, a "bigamist".
Bacon, a DJ on 95.8 Capital FM, told listeners: "It was the first time she'd told anyone she'd split with (Justin) Timberlake and I had a bit of plan, as I had hoped to get the admission out of her about the split.
"I had a vicar waiting round the corner with a real marriage certificate.
"I went down on one knee in front of her and said 'would you marry me?' and she said 'hey sure'.
"So I signalled to the vicar, the vicar walks in with the real marriage certificate. I sign it, she signs it... vicar pronounces us married.
"I'm walking off with the marriage certificate down the corridor when this massive security guard comes hurtling after me, takes it out of my hand and tears it up as he realised what I'd done and that it was legally binding.
"You can't just get rid of it by tearing it up," Bacon said, "which means I actually could still be legally married to Britney Spears, which means her marriage to Kevin doesn't exist and that Britney Spears a bigamist."
But a spokesman for the 23-year-old star rubbished the claims. "Sorry to break Richards heart, but Britney Spears is legally married to her husband Kevin Federline and is expecting their first child together very soon", he said. |

Britney Spears scored a ton of gender-neutral presents at her baby shower on August 6, including a white wrought-iron bassinet, car seat, stroller, infant bathtub and lots of stuffed animals. "Everyone really outdid themselves," the singer told People magazine, which has a spread of photos from the scene in its next issue, out Friday. Only 19 guests attended the Moroccan-themed shindig, which was held under a bamboo tent set in front of Spears' Malibu, California, home. "It was so beautiful that throughout the entire night, I kept forgetting we were in my front yard," Spears told the mag. Friends and family were treated to gift bags containing the singer's Curious perfume as well as necklaces made from their own baby photos. It was "everything I envisioned," Spears said. |

Nyla's has reputation as Spears' border burger hangout |

There's no getting around it. Just as we've heard for years, Nyla's Burger Basket has to be a Britney Spears hangout. There's evidence everywhere.
Walk into the front door of the down-home eatery in Osyka, Miss., look to the far left wall, and it's solid Britney -- posters, photos going back to her younger years and framed newspaper stories on the pop songstress. Sit down and take a menu from the friendly waitress. There's Britney on the cover and under it the words "Britney's favorite family restaurant." Pay your bill at the front counter and notice a greeting postcard left up from Christmas. "Happy Holidays from Britney and Kevin Federline" and a wedding photo of the couple.
Nyla's isn't far from the entertainer's hometown of Kentwood, and is just over the state line. It's a straight drive north after taking I-55 at Hammond. Notice that the interstate starts to get hilly as you get closer to Mississippi. Once off the Osyka exit, slow down as chances are you'll get behind a truck hauling horses or some other such country sighting. Downtown, turn right onto Second Street and the flashing signs outside signal Nyla's about a block down on the right.
Rocking chairs on the front porch give a hint to the laid-back, homey atmosphere found inside. Out back, there's a deck with a swing and umbrellas with tables. Inside, Nyla's regulars chatted between tables and with the waitresses. We felt like Louisiana outsiders until out from the deck popped inside the friendly face of one of my co-workers. You just never know who's going to show up at Nyla's. We've heard even Britney stops by when she's in town. Her reported favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich.
But since "burger" is part of the name, we felt the need to try one out. We ordered the large cheeseburger ($3.25), with French fries ($1 extra). Thick and juicy, this is one of those you're going to need more than one napkin for. It's drippy and good. The meat was done throughout, with a nice grilled flavor, and dressed with thin onion slices, tomato, lettuce, pickle and condiments between a fresh bun. In hindsight, I should have gotten the small burger, as I wasn't able to make it through the burger and all the fries.
Speaking of that mound of fries, we were pleasantly surprised to find a little something different with Nyla's version. The medium-cut, skin-on potatoes were coated with an onion ring-style batter before frying, giving them a seasoned, homemade touch. Definitely worth checking out.
The ribeye and Gulf shrimp combo ($14.95) was very satisfying, the generous cut of beef cooked to medium as requested, juicy and tender. The half-dozen or so shrimp were tender, not at all chewy, and seasoned nicely. The entrée came with a baked potato and unadorned lettuce and tomato salad with a choice of dressings.
Nyla's has a few seafood offerings as well, and we sampled the fried catfish (small, $6.95), which also was accompanied by a baked potato and salad. Five portions of thick catfish were lightly breaded, fried to doneness, and quite passable, although not outstanding. A little more seasoning in the batter could have kicked these up a notch.
For the kids, the corndog and fries ($2.79) are sure to please. The corndog was slightly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and frequently seen being dipped into ketchup on the side. In little time, it was gone, although our youngest guest wasn't able to make it through her large side of fries, either.
With no room to spare, we ordered desserts to go. The chocolate meringue pie and the lemon icebox pie with meringue ($1.95 each) were both satisfactory and not overly sweet. And you can't go wrong with two scoops of chocolate ice cream ($2.14). It's Blue Bell, need I say more?
The wait staff was friendly and efficient all around, quickly refilling our drink glasses. As closing neared, there wasn't time to sit a spell on the porch or deck, but maybe next time, and with a big glass of Nyla's pink lemonade. Who knows? Maybe Britney will come by. |

With just weeks to go before giving birth, Britney Spears hosted an emotional Moroccan-themed baby shower.
Guests were welcomed into a bamboo tent set up in front of her Malibu home, where they walked barefoot through thousands of rose petals.
“I wanted it to be really intimate with just my closest girlfriends and family members,” she said.
“The night was everything I envisioned.”
Sitting amongst hundreds of candles, Britney presided over a North African feast which included Moroccan brisket and salad Tangiers.
The meal was topped with a cake in the shape of a Moroccan pot with a baby peeking out.
Presents included a white wrought-iron bassinet from her mum, Lynne, a car seat, a stroller, an infant bathtub and lots of stuffed animals.
Britney, 23, and husband, Kevin Federline have not revealed the baby’s gender but are rumoured to be having a boy.
“Everyone really outdid themselves,” the singer told People magazine. “Even the packaging on some of the gifts was heartfelt.
“I truly couldn’t have been happier to share this day with people who are so close to my heart.”
While everyone wrote personal messages in a book, Britney’s mother and mother-in-law made emotional toasts.
“Lynne Spears talked about when she was pregnant with Britney and how she felt such emotion, and Kevin’s mum, Julie, was saying that they’re so happy Britney’s a part of their family,” said Alyson Fox, whose company planned the event.
“Everyone’s eyes were just welling up with tears.”
Ms Fox said Britney could not wait to give birth. “Her hand is always on her belly. She’s ready to take on motherhood,” she revealed.
Kevin, 27, who has two young children with former girlfriend Shar Jackson, made himself scarce during the event. |

Britney Spears, who is eight months pregnant with her first child, is said to have finessed the art of delicate sexual moves, including fellatio, after purchasing sex manual Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm written by Kim Cattrall.

BRITNEY SPEARS' first husband JASON ALEXANDER has branded their 55-hour marriage a "s**t" waste of time - because he had no idea she became his wife as a joke.
The TOXIC singer and Alexander exchanged vows in Las Vegas in January last year (04).
But Alexander complains Spears didn't give him time to read the marriage contract when she made him agree to an annulment less than three days later - leaving him without a penny of her $180 million (GBP100 million) fortune.
He fumes, "I never thought the wedding was a joke. I was serious about everything I said. But being married to Britney Spears was s**t.
"People think that I was paid-off but I got zero, nothing. Every time I pull up in my car, people go, 'Britney bought you that, huh?' I want to break their face." |

Pop princess Britney Spears decided to donate $36,000 to the controversial Kabbalah organization, at Madonna’s advice.
It appears Madonna encouraged Britney to donate the money to the faith's children's club, Spirituality for Kids, because she is due to get birth next month and to ensure the baby will be healthy.
Madonna also advised Britney to involve her child in the Kabbalah as quickly as possible, because it will be greatly beneficial to everyone involved in the child's upbringing.
A source told The Mirror, "Britney made the charity donation last month. Madonna suggested Spirituality for Kids because she thinks it's amazing. She has told her that introducing her baby to Kabbalah will be greatly beneficial to everyone involved in the child's upbringing.
"Britney hasn't made a big deal of her gift because some of her family are suspicious of Kabbalah. But she thinks Madonna's a great role model and would never question her advice."
Britney is also preparing a Kabbalah blessing for the child, at Madonna’s advice, who claims to be a Kabbalah follower for about nine years.

Rival's Words Can't Bring Britney Down |

Sounds as if Christina Aguilera has found a way to renew her old feud with longtime rival Britney Spears. The Latin diva has soundly dissed the pregnant pop tart -- telling the Contactmusic.com Web site the new Mrs. Federline has ''let herself go too much'' to reclaim her sex-symbol appeal after she delivers her first child next month. ''I can't see a comeback in the cards,'' added the ''Dirrty" singer.
Aguilera didn't stop there, saying she was ''horrified'' (yeah, I bet!) by the ''deterioration'' in Britney's appearance recently.
A call to Spears' camp only elicited a fairly loud ''Hahahahaha'' stream of hysterical laughter, followed by a quick, ''Consider the source. No comment.''

Elizabeth Arden Inc. (RDEN) posted a narrower quarterly loss on Thursday, topping analysts' expectations, as expanded distribution of the popular Curious by Britney Spears fragrance boosted sales.
The company reached beyond fans of fragrances such as Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds by selling the scent named after Spears, the one-time teen pop icon, and now plans to go after NASCAR fans with new products while also serving its core female demographic with a fresh $150 anti-aging treatment.
Curious was launched in U.S. department stores last fall and has since expanded into other stores such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) with smaller, lower-priced bottles.
"The strength appears to be coming primarily from the expansion of the Britney Spears Curious line into the mass retailer channel in the U.S. as well as continued international expansion of the line," said CIBC analyst Joseph Altobello, who has a "neutral" rating on the shares.
Building on the success of Curious, Elizabeth Arden said it plans to launch Fantasy Britney Spears, a higher priced, more sophisticated fragrance, in U.S. department stores this fall and internationally early next year. |

Chaotic: The DVD |

Notwithstanding the legions of Britney Spears fans who disagree, the 5-episode UPN series Britney & Kevin: Chaotic was fairly heavily trashed by critics all over the place, from the New York Daily News ("stinker") to online-only reviews like Buzzle.com ("train wreck"). The Hollywood Reporter wanted an hour of his life back, and RewardTV.com reported that the show's ratings were "toxic".
Here at TVShowsOnDVD, neither of us have seen the show for ourselves, so we can't judge yet. We know we're gonna get all kinds of hate mail from Britney fans for passing along the bad reviews...but really, we're just the messenger (don't shoot us). And, as one fan at Amazon has said, "Who cares what critics say? The fans love it!"
But we HAVE seen the cover art for the upcoming DVD for this series, and we can't honestly say we think much of it. It looks horrible! Maybe the artists at Jive Records were going for a "chaotic" look to match the title of the program, but while they succeed admirably (if that was their plan), this doesn't look like the sort of thing that retailers would feel is going to stand out and jump off their shelves.
That art comes to us courtesy of Amazon.com's pre-order listing, who is selling this in advance for $13.99 based on a $19.98 list price. Billboard magazine reported that this DVD was due on August 23rd, but Amazon is showing a SEPTEMBER 13th release date instead.
It's a 2-disc set, with 1 DVD and 1 CD. Besides all 5 installments which chronicle the growing relationship between Spears and Kevin Federline, culminating in their surprise marriage and Spears' pregnancy, there will be 30 minutes of bonus footage, videos for "Do Somethin'" and "Someday (I Will Understand)," and a "making-of" for the "Someday" video. The CD includes at least "Someday (I Will Understand)" and "Chaotic," and possibly more. Thanks to all the readers who spotted the Amazon listing and e-mailed us about it, starting with "Kevin M." Stay tuned for any further developments. |

Malibu Residents Understand BB Gun Shooting |

Photographers' tactics are to blame, some say. Others call the pellet gun attack excessive.
It was the shot heard 'round Malibu.
Two days after a tabloid photographer was shot in the thigh with a pellet gun while staking out singer Britney Spears' baby shower, longtime residents and merchants of the Hollywood colony say they can well understand why someone might take aim at a pack of camera-toting paparazzi.
Instances of aggressive shutterbugs lurking outside cafes, charging after starlets in grocery store parking lots or smuggling tiny cameras into popular restaurants in search of celebrities have grown increasingly common.
"Your mouth just drops open, you can't believe it," florist John Cosentino said of some of the aggressive tactics he has seen.
But what residents and shop owners don't agree on is whether the photographer in Saturday's incident deserved to be shot. While the man's injuries were minor — he was treated with a bandage — some residents think that the firing of a pellet gun was excessive.
"I don't blame the actors for taking a swing at these guys every once in a while," said Mickey Borofsky, 70, as he sipped coffee outside the Malibu Kitchen, a local celebrity haunt. But, he said, "I don't know if it's acceptable to take a shot at them."
But elsewhere in the seaside Malibu Country Mart — a trendy shopping plaza shown in Mel Gibson's 2004 photographer-stalker film "Paparazzi" — some shop owners and patrons said that the photographer simply got what was coming to him.
"It's all part of the job, isn't it?" asked Hannah McMahon, 19, who was visiting Malibu with friend Aimee Parnell, also 19, from Liverpool, England. It would be different if someone had used a real gun, they said, but a pellet gun didn't seem that bad. Parnell said she has been shot with a pellet gun and it didn't seem too terrible.
Authorities have not identified a gunman, but celebrity photographers said they believed the shooting was done by a property manager and not Spears' bodyguards.
To some, Saturday's incident marked the latest altercation between subjects and photographers, and it came as the latter have escalated their tactics.
Cosentino said that up until about a year ago, photographers seemed content to snap pictures from their cars. That has changed, though, and he said that this year he has seen photographers chasing female stars on foot at least three times. Other merchants said that as a result, some stars are increasingly sending their assistants and nannies on errands to local shops.
Even non-celebrities say they've felt the eyes of the paparazzi on them more than a few times.
"You can always feel them, if you're wearing glasses or a hat," said Jency Griffin, 26, a Malibu restaurant employee. "They're looking to see if you're famous."
Some photographers have responded with outrage to the pellet-gun incident, while others have taken a more philosophical view.
E.L. Woody, a celebrity photographer and videographer who owns Paparazzi TV Inc., has characterized the incident as an "assault on the press" perpetrated by the "real" media.
"I think it was inevitable, because [the media] are working the world into a whipping frenzy about the paparazzi," Woody said. " 'Paparazzi' is a word that's been vilified. There is a lynch-mob mentality, and this is evidence of that lynch-mob mentality taking place."
But photographer Anthony Goodrich said such threats came with the territory.
"It's just like being a celebrity. When you sign up for being a celebrity, you get what comes along with it; same thing with being a paparazzi," he said. "For every action there's a reaction, so if my action is taking pictures I'd better expect a reaction. That's why I'm always on guard. You have so many people that have so many negative thoughts and reactions about paparazzi; they can't stand us, you know. Retaliation happens all the time."
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman described the photographer's injury as "below minor," but said a detective has been assigned to the case because of an increase in clashes between photographers and celebrities.
The photographer, Brad Diaz, was among 15 to 20 photographers waiting 200 feet from a Carbon Mesa Road home that Spears was believed to be visiting Saturday night. Diaz was struck in the thigh by a pellet at 7:50 p.m.
Diaz didn't return calls for comment Monday, but colleagues described him as a "stand-up" photographer who was simply doing his job. They said Diaz was once a San Diego firefighter who suffered an injury. After leaving the department, he turned to his hobby of photography for a living.
At least one photographer expressed shock at hearing of the incident, because, he said, photographers have traditionally gotten along well with Spears and her bodyguards.
"Britney Spears, she's usually a huge sweetheart to us," said photographer Tuan Pham. "She knows we're there, and she lives with it. Celebrities like her, when they have us around so much, they know when to come up to us and say, 'Guys, I'm having a bad day or special day and can you give us some time.'
"She's usually one of those types. That's why it's a huge shock. People like Cameron Diaz and Leonardo [DiCaprio], those are the people we have to worry about more, because they go around the law all of the time," Pham said.

According to The New York Daily News, Kelly Davis believes the pellet gun that struck Brad Diaz came from the direction of Britney's Malibu home during Britney's baby shower.
Kelly Davis, who owns X17 photo agency and handels Brad Diaz's photography says, "We believe it came from the direction of Britney Spears' property."
"I know [Diaz] is speaking with attorneys, but I don't know which direction he is going to go."
Meanwhile, Britney's camp insist that Britney nor her people had any involvement in the shooting of the BB gun, citing "Britney hopes the gentleman is okay." |

Christina Aguilera has claimed that Britney Spears' career is over, as the pop princesses renew hostilities.
Aguilera and Spears have enjoyed regular spats over the years, since starring on children's TV together, but have remained amicable in recent months.
However, according to reports, Christina believes that Britney will not be able to return to the world of pop with the same style once she has given birth.
Britney, who was pictured in a yacht off the Californian coast today sporting an enormous bump, prompting suggestions she's expecting twins, is due to give birth next month.
Speaking about her future in music, Aguilera commented: "She's let herself go. I can't see a comeback on the cards."
Meanwhile, Aguilera is facing a lawsuit from a songwriter who claims he's not been paid for his contributions to her "Stripped" album from 2002.
Matt Morris filed a lawsuit against the star last week in Nashville's Davidson County Court, in a bid for payment for five songs he claims to have written on the record.
Morris says he is owned money for songwriting credits on "Underappreciated", "Can't Hold Us Down", "Walk Away", "Infatuation" and "Loving Me 4 Me". |

Pop star Britney Spears and her security staff denied knowledge Monday of the pellet-gun shooting of a photographer who was staking out a private baby shower for the singer in Malibu. But the paparazzi shooter who ended up shot may be suing the pop star, according to one report.
Lensman Brad Diaz said he was struck in the thigh by a pellet Saturday outside the mansion where the pregnant star was visiting and enjoying a party thrown for her. Diaz claimed one of Spears' security staff pulled the trigger, according to Ninemsn, which quoted The Sun newspaper.
"I can’t believe it. I was on a public street," Diaz reportedly said. He also said he plans to sue for "millions." |

Pop star Britney Spears and her security staff denied knowledge on Monday of the pellet-gun shooting of a photographer who was staking out a private baby shower for the singer in Malibu.
Paparazzi photographer Brad Diaz said he was struck in the thigh by a pellet on Saturday outside the mansion where the pregnant star was visiting and enjoying a party thrown for her.
Police are investigating his complaint of misdemeanor battery.
"Britney didn't know anything about it. She had nothing to do with it," said Spears' publicist, Nicole King. Asked whether the singer's security was involved, King said "Oh no!"
Spears, 23, whose first baby is due in October, has remained as much a subject of tabloid fascination since her marriage to dancer Kevin Federline and her pregnancy as in her days as a teen pop phenomenon.
Police said Diaz was treated with an adhesive bandage at the scene and described his injury as insignificant. But they said they would reconstruct the incident and talk to everyone involved.
"We will conduct a thorough investigation just as we would with any other complaint," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Video taken by other media outside the Malibu house showed Diaz with a bloody thigh and guests entering the well-screened villa carrying gifts and packages. |

A sheriff's detective will be assigned to investigate the BB gun shooting of a photographer who was staking out Britney Spears over the weekend.
Such incidents usually draw little attention from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, but authorities say they were swamped with phone calls.
"Because of the media attention, we'll probably put this on the front burner to settle the whole thing," said sheriff's Sgt. Robert Knudson.
A detective will be assigned to the case Monday, authorities said.
The photographer, Brad Diaz, was shot in the leg while standing in the street 150 feet to 200 feet from a home where Spears was believed to be attending a baby shower in her honor, authorities said. It was unclear whether the 23-year-old pop star, who does not own the property, was inside at the time.
Diaz, who was hospitalized and released several hours later, claimed the BB came from the direction of the home, Knudson said. Spears' bodyguards told authorities they weren't involved in the incident.
A message left with Spears' publicist wasn't returned early Monday.
Though the shooting "doesn't even rise to the level of assault with a deadly weapon," Knudson said, sheriff's dispatch operators received nearly two dozen phone calls from news organizations following the incident. |
