Judge Rules Britney Spears Can Skip Hearing in Stalking Case |

U-Daily Bulletin reports Pop idol Britney Spear does not have to appear at a hearing next week to seek a permanent order to keep an alleged stalker away, a judge ruled Monday.
Superior Court Judge Alan Haber also ruled that Spears, 21, can skip a question-and-answer with the lawyer for Japanese businessman Masahiko Shizawa.
"I don't think (ordering her appearance) would add up to anything but additional harassment," Haber said.
Haber also told Shizawa's attorney, Simon Robert Hiller, that the evidence shows his client "has been stalking and harassing Spears for a considerable amount of time." The judge, however, said he would keep an open mind for the Oct. 7 hearing on Spears' request for a permanent injunction.
Haber said he could make a "reasonable inference" by hearing other testimony to determine whether Spears suffered emotional distress due to Shizawa's alleged actions.
Spears' attorney, Steve Cochran, said he plans to call eight witnesses for the hearing. Hiller indicated that he likely would ask for a delay for more preparation time.
Shizawa, 43, has had no contact with Spears since last October, Hiller said. Spears has claimed that the Yokohama, Japan, native has called and sent faxes several times in the past five months.
Spears in December 2002 first sought a restraining order against Shizawa, alleging that he had "tracked and attempted to contact" her at her home in Los Angeles, as well as at her second home and one of her parent's homes, which are both outside California. He also allegedly sent photos of himself and notes reading, "I'm chasing you."
Spears in mid-April dropped her request for a restraining order, after Shizawa agreed to stop trying to contact her. Her lawyers renewed the bid for a temporary restraining order in July and it was granted last month.
Hiller said his client's visa to stay in the United States expired and he has been in Japan since December. |

Britney Spears Under Attack: Cannons to the Right of Her, Cannons to the Left of Her |

Brachman reports Call it the politics of being Britney Spears. Britney has been taking a lot of heat from both the liberal and conservative media – for, as always, no good reason.
First there is the annoying Jennifer Ordonez, writing in Newsweek. You remember Newsweek, right? It’s the magazine your parents glanced at when they took you to the dentist’s office and that you paid no attention to whatsoever.
In fact, Newsweek’s reporters can be divided into three distinct groups: Liberals, liberals and liberals.
So here’s Ms. Ordonez, in a recent issue, desperately trying to impress her (um, liberal) bosses by trashing Britney for doing the unthinkable – supporting President Bush.
This, of course, is a crime against humanity at the one-party magazine.
Rather than admit she is horrified that anyone in the arts, let alone someone extremely high up in the arts, is not a liberal Democrat, Jennifer tries attacking on a different front to conceal the actual agenda.
The article suggests that “early handicappers” and “industry watchers” (translation: people who don’t know what they’re talking about) think Britney’s new CD isn’t going to do well.
That would be the CD that isn’t even out yet.
Never mind that Britney’s detractors always say this just before an album drop. Never mind that Britney is the only woman in pop music history to have each of her previous (three) albums open at the number one position on Billboard.
No, that’s just not good enough for this crowd.
Naturally, Jennifer fails to mention Britney’s support for American troops fighting overseas, just as she fails to mention her tremendous contributions to charities for the victims of 9/11 and additional organizations that assist military families.
Then again, it’s Newsweek. You praised a Republican. You’re out.
Here’s the tip-off in Ms. Ordonez’s commentary:
In a recent interview on CNN, she [Britney] spoke fondly of her girl-on-girl smooch [with Madonna] before declaring her unwavering trust in George W. Bush and his war efforts. Sounds like somebody who isn’t quite sure who her audience is.
Now we understand where Ms. Ordonez is going.
Not only does the reporter feel, again, it’s unacceptable that each and every musician isn’t a liberal, she further condescends by suggesting that Britney doesn’t know that each and every conservative objects to/disapproves of/is offended by her MTV performance with Madonna (and Christine Aguilera).
That’s good, Jen, that’s perfect. All liberals/Democrats enjoy sexuality and sex whereas all conservatives/Republicans are completely turned off by it, right?
There’s only one problem with the Ordonez thesis. If conservatives and Republicans are so offended by sex, one wonders how it came to be that there are so many of them.
It sounds like Jennifer is quite sure who her audience is.
Of course, reading gibberish on Britney from a staunch right-winger like writer Brent Bozell makes lefty Jennifer Ordonez sound like a moderate.
Rather than be pleased that this particular artist supports President Bush, Mr. Bozell isn’t happy. No, support of President Bush just isn’t good enough for this particular conservative.
In a recent column, Mr. Bozell is exorcised because of a performance Britney gave during the season premier of Monday Night Football.
That’s right. Brent didn’t care for her performance, so he wrote the following:
Now that Britney’s turned 21, she’s legally become America’s official symbol of slutty sex appeal.
Kinda makes you wonder if Mr. Bozell has lost it. Hey Brent. Hello. It was a performance! It’s just for fun. It’s not supposed to be taken seriously, not supposed to be analyzed, not supposed to be interpreted… oh, what’s the use?
Mr. Bozell isn’t finished there, he goes on to trash entertainment industry executives, including those from the NFL and ABC and drops in this gem:
So why are they imposing these slutty singers as role models on the rest of society? It’s not for anything more than a quick buck.
Imposing? Brent, here’s a fresh concept – if you don’t like it, don’t watch. For a conservative writer, “slutty” is a word Mr. Bozell seems unusually comfortable with. And where does he get “role models” – did anyone from the broadcast suggest Britney’s performance is some kind of life lesson? There’s nothing quite like a shrill ultra-conservative to drive away the artists that are attracted to the conservative side.
Brent Bozell’s idea of appropriate half-time entertainment at a football game is, evidently, nuns square dancing.
Apparently, liberals won’t be satisfied with Britney until she comes out wearing a button that reads, “Vote Democrat!” whereas conservatives won’t be satisfied with Britney until she covers herself from head to toe.
When it comes to the media, Britney can’t win for losing.
And neither can we. |

Ananova reports Britney Spears has revealed she was the "man" in her relationship with Justin Timberlake.
And the singer - once the world's most famous virgin - said she only slept with Timberlake because she thought they would one day marry.
In an interview with GQ magazine, out on Thursday, the singer said having sex did not make her a "bad person".
The couple, who worked together as child stars, dated for a number of years.
Spears, 21, said: "I've always been a tomboy, I've always ended up being the man in the relationship.
"I know it sounds really weird, but it's very hard for me to let go and let the man take control."
Spears, who has shed her innocent image since first finding fame, recently enjoyed a brief fling with heavily tattooed rock hardman Fred Durst of limpbizkit, the band formerly known as Limp Bizkit.
Speaking about her sex life, Spears told GQ: "As far as the whole sex thing goes, I really did think that Justin was the one I was going to marry so I did do the thing with him after three years.
"And I don't think that's a bad thing. Just because I've admitted to having sex doesn't make me a bad person, does it?"
The singer said she would not sleep with a man in the early days of a relationship, and prefers to simply kiss. She said: "When you're first dating a guy, you can't really go there with him. I think it's more sacred and special if you just kiss." |

Britney may have a pal in Madonna, but she's lost her publicist. Dan Klores resigned from the pop tart's employ after, sources said, she put several of his relationships with other clients in peril. "Dan had made a deal for Britney with [NBC head] Jeff Zucker for her to go on NBC," we're told. "She canceled it and went to ABC. Then Britney was supposed to be on the Esquire cover exclusively - and she appeared on three other magazines' covers. [Esquire editor] David Granger was furious. It was crazy." Klores confirmed the two had split but declined further comment.

The Sun Newspaper reported We have lift off! Britney Spears shows she’s the model professional – by making paper planes to pass the time.
The pop princess – wearing a T-shirt saying Miss B. Haven – looked bored rigid during a stay in Rome to shoot her latest Pepsi advert.
Despite the company of her choreographer, Britney couldn’t keep her feelings hidden as she let out a giant yawn on the balcony of her hotel restaurant.
And she obviously found her reading material less than inspiring, ripping out a page and folding it into an aeroplane. But unlike her career, the home-made jet didn’t go into orbit.
Instead, it crash-landed on the pavement, where a group of fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of her.
An onlooker said: “Britney looked bored out of her brain. And with all that yawning, she didn’t make a secret of it.”
He added: “It may just have been a paper plane but one lucky fan will have a keepsake to treasure.

People.Com reports that Guy Ritchie will be the director of Me Against the Music.
Madonna Tribe reports The video for Britney Spears' forthcoming single will be directed by Guy Ritchie and will also feature the missus.
The mockney Lock Stock director will be behind the camera on the shoot for Me Against The Music, in which Madonna, who collaborates on the track, will play a typically modest role. Her Madge will play a leather-clad dominatrix with a string of semi-naked '*****es' on leashes. It isn't known if Britney will play one of those *****es.
The video will see Madonna playing the matriarch of a nightclub, who lures innocent scantily-clad Britney into a private room filled with other scantily-clad young women.
Fans will see parallels with the tongue-fest enjoyed by the two singers at the recent MTV Video Awards, when her Madge took the lead (and saliva) with both Britters and Christina Aguilera. Denials followed, however, with Madonna claiming since that it was the Hit Me Baby singer who instigated the lip-lock. 'In all the rehearsals it was pecking,' Mrs Ritchie swore. No doubt all the rehearsals for the forthcoming video will feature no leather or leashes. Considering how much Guy seemed to enjoy his wife's performance at the MTV show, the Snatch director will have little trouble shooting, though cynics suggest it isn't a good idea for the couple to work together again, ever, after Swept Away |

Contact Music reports Sexy singer BRITNEY SPEARS has been linked to one of her backing dancers - a 21-year-old hunk who's already married.
Paparazzi caught the star in a passionate clinch with COLUMBUS SHORT on 23 August (03) in Culver City, California, during a rehearsal for Spears' number at the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS - in spite of the fact Columbus is married and reportedly an expectant father.
Spears even threw Short a birthday party in New York over the weekend (20/21SEP03), according to US WEEKLY.
However, sources close to the singer insist the snap isn't all it seems - claiming the pair are just friends and Britney was merely warming up her lips in preparation for her controversial onstage smooch with MADONNA at the VMAs.
Britney's spokesperson says, "Britney and Columbus Short are friends. He is one of her dancers and is helping choreograph some numbers for her."
Spears, single since splitting from JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 18 months ago, has been previously linked with dance prodigy WADE ROBSON, who has choreographed for both her and the LIKE I LOVE YOU singer. |

Britney Talks More About "In The Zone" |

Britney Spears laughs at the thought that she could've found time for a break recently. "[Only] if you call three weeks a hiatus," she said. "I've been recording my booty off."
As her forthcoming In the Zone (formerly Get in the Zone) nears completion, the pop star is working her booty overtime, already mapping out plans for remixes galore of her first single, "Me Against the Music," featuring Madonna. The RedZone-produced track has been sent to several producers, including Outkast and Madonna mixer Peter Rauhofer.
"We've hooked up [again], but I've learned not to talk about my personal life," Britney said of Madonna, laughing. "But basically that song is about just being in a club and being oblivious to everyone and just zoning out and just freestyling. And it's me and that beat."
Spears has been known to hit the New York clubs to let DJs preview her new songs, and she even performed a surprise nightclub act in Las Vegas earlier this month (see "Britney Romps On Bed, Loses Her Shirt At Surprise Vegas Show"). For the most part, though, the new tunes have been kept tightly under wraps. "My music hasn't been out," she said. "I've been recording the whole time. It's like a big deal for me. It's my baby."
In her Vegas act, Spears previewed "Breathe on Me," which earned more of the trip-hop comparisons her new work has been getting while also emphasizing the sensuality she's been hinting at recently. "It's very vibe-y, trance-y," she said. "['Breathe on Me'] is basically about being with a guy and not even having to really be with each other, but just the intensity and the anxiety between not saying anything. You don't even have to touch me, just breathe on me."
The most erotic song, however, in Spears' new repertoire just might be "Touch of My Hand" (see "Britney Previews LP, Denies Rumors Of 'Cry Me A River' Response"). "I think it's tastefully done," Spears said of the track. "And I think it's real. It's nice and it's real. It's whatever your take is. Some people may think it's a little much, but that's where I'm at with my life. ... It's not freaky freaky, it's just a little freaky."
Spears has been putting forth a more adult image in print as well, posing nude for a New York Times Magazine fashion spread and appearing topless in Elle UK and Rolling Stone. The upcoming issue of Esquire promises to be equally racy, with a teaser in this month's issue that she'll be "wearing nothing more than her smile."
"As far as photo shoots go, W, Rolling Stone, whatever, the pictures are really sexy," she said, "but actually, when I did the photo shoots, I was sometimes in ball gowns and nice dresses, and of course they used the pictures where I'm half nude. ... The one [on the cover of Rolling Stone], that was my first time ever to be on the cover of a magazine and not have my top on.
"People like the pictures, I like the pictures, but I hate the interview," she continued. "[Writer Mark Binelli] was so rude, I almost got up and left. He made me come across in such a horrible light. You suck, reporter! And I'm not afraid to say that, because he was really wrong. He hurt my feelings. And I wouldn't even bring it up because I'm giving him my energy and he doesn't deserve my energy. I went on a rampage. Sorry about that."
Going on a rampage — that, too, is part of the new, more adult Britney. "I know to speak up more," she said, "and I know what I want more. There's so much going on in my world, behind the music, you have to be more involved."
A video shoot for "Me Against the Music" is slated for early October in New York, and the clip is set to premiere October 13 on "Making the Video." In the Zone drops November 18.

However, the Boys star has chosen to play the diplomat with her young pop rival.
She responds, "I don't really care what Avril Lavigne has said about me because I don't know her. I think her music's really cool, so that's not too bad.
"I've learned that not everybody is going to like you - but I would like to get some respect." |

The singer says she missed Madonna and Britney's kiss because she was so transfixed by Britney Spears' tongue.
The 24-year-oldr told German MTV News: "I didn't see Madonna kiss Christina at all - perhaps because I was concentrating too hard on Britney's tongue which came out of her mouth."
She also said she couldn't understand all the fuss surrounding the kiss.
She said: "It was just a kiss," but then admitted, "Well, a hot kiss."
But she said she had kissed Christina first, at an after-show party following the Video Music Awards three years ago.
"Yeah, I kissed her first, and not to shock everyone."

New Album to Incorporate Asian Style |

Hollywood singer-actress Britney Spears has taken to Indian bhangra tunes to make her comeback after nearly one year. Spear's latest album is likely to come out later this year.
The song features Spears singing and rapping over music and rhythms from rural India. It has been remixed by British Asian producer Rishie Rich.
"The Britney song came to me as a commercial pop song," the Daily Times quoted Rich as saying while speaking to BBC.
"The song was great, but what I sent back to them is a real street edge with a bit of Asian influence," he said.
"I actually didn't want to put too much Asian in it, because I wasn't sure what they wanted," Rich said. "Steve Lunt, who was the A and R for the records in New York, just went 'we want more, just put all in -- we'd rather want you put it all in, then we can take little bits out'. That's what he wanted -- he wanted the full Asian thing," Rich added.
Rich said that while bhangra had been established in UK for quite some time, it has only just begun influencing music in the US. And, therefore, Spears would be seen as at the cutting edge of musical change there.
"Bhangra in America has just kicked off, and it's not as big as it is here," Rich said adding "people are loving the sounds and they want that sound." "I think that you need something that is going to be more innovative. I think just generally if you mix Asian music with Egyptian music or Spanish music or pop music -- you get a different sound."
While bhangra's recent explosion into the UK mainstream may not last, Rich is simply happy it is now getting the exposure and airplay it deserves.
The Indian influence is the latest change for Spears, who has previously gone from pop princess in pigtails to sex kitten and is reportedly 'over the moon' with the record.

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly in newstands right now, there is an article about Britney's new album. This is what Entertainment Weekly had to say:
Get in the Zone Release Date: 11/18
The way Spears talks these days, it seems like Madonna might've shared more than saliva with her during their now-notorious MTV make-out session. On her forthcoming album, Britney rips a page from the Middle-Aged Material Woman's playbook, redefining herself to stay relevant. ''She opened the door for every woman out there to have balls and believe in herself,'' the spicy-tongued Spears says of her pop progenitor, who's featured on first single ''Me Against the Music.''
Though eclectic, the disc has a more mature sound, dominated by slinky lounge beats and forays into dancehall and trip-hop. ''It's moody and vibey,'' says Spears, who helped pick the CD's diverse producers, including Moby and the Matrix. ''It's the kind of music where you want to light candles and listen to it with a partner.''
Lyrically, the album represents Spears at her boldest. ''Showdown,'' she says, is ''about make-up sex,'' while the R. Kelly-produced ''Outrageous'' features the once-celebrated virgin moaning about ''my sex drive'' and, curiously enough, a ''trench coat in my underwear.'' ''R. Kelly wrote that and he brought his own ghetto slang,'' Spears explains, offering that it might be a reference to a thong. ''I'm at a place where I can express myself a little more and say things that are a little more adult because I'm getting older.'' ''Brave New Girl'' features Britney's first attempt at rapping. ''The track was so bangin','' she enthuses. ''I said 'Let's just do this!' and I started rapping.''
As jam-packed as the CD is, there are some big omissions. Gossip columnists will rue the lack of response to Justin Timberlake's reported Spears snipe ''Cry Me a River.'' And there's nothing produced by Fred Durst, whose studio work with Spears spawned rumors of a hookup. ''Oh, no! God, no!'' she says when asked if Durst made the cut. ''That was just an experiment.'' |

Contact Music reports Formerly angelic pop star BRITNEY SPEARS is hunting for a "toxic guy" to date - because she's sick of nice men.
The SLAVE 4 U singer has dismantled her girl-next-door appeal in preparation for her comeback album, due for release in November (03) - and now she wants an edgy man to match her new image.
Spears, who has been linked to COLIN FARRELL, FRED DURST and JARED LETO since splitting from JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, explains, "I like toxic guys. A toxic guy is someone you can't get enough of, the type of guy I want around me. I like someone who's not always politically correct and who's not everyone's best friend.
"He doesn't love to hear himself speak for the sake of it. He's just cool. It's refreshing to be with a toxic guy. Someone who doesn't care what people think." |

AllHipHop.com reported that Atlanta's Ying Yang Twins are experiencing the most success of their career, after putting in years of work down south and releasing such regional hits as "Ying Yang In This Thang" and "Whistle While You Twurk."
After striking it big this year on Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz' "Get Low," as well as their own single "Naggin," group members D-Rock and Kaine have recorded a single with Britney Spears, hoping the track will dramatically raise their rising profiles.
"It was totally out of left field," group member Kaine told AllHipHop.com. "The Ying Yang Twins and Britney Spears, it sounds crazy, but the track we did will show everyone that the Ying Yang Twins are versatile."
The single, "I Got That Boom Boom," is earmarked for Spears' latest album Get In The Zone. The group's manager and DJ, DJ Smurf, said that Spears wanted the duo off of the strength of "Get Low."
"The good thing is, the song they did isn't outside of what she does or outside of what they do," Smurf added. "She just wanted them on the cut because she wanted that hip-hop element."

Looks like everyone is talking about Britney right now, even Newsweek Magazine. Why not, it is Newsweek after all and Britney is sure making big news. The September 22 issue of Newsweek Magazine has an interesting article about the forthcoming album by Britney. Newsweek reports that even though sales of albums have declined, Britney’s new album will likely be one of the biggest holiday sellers. However, some are criticizing that expectations with the new album will be much lower than both “Oops!…I Did It Again” and “Britney.” Industry watchers are predicting that Britney’s new album titled “Get in the Zone,” will be far worse. Greg Mize, a representative for Handleman Co., which distributes music to retail, stores like K-Mart, and Wal-Mart, says, “Maybe her newness has worn out. I suppose it depends on how you measure success. There’s still excitement around her.”

Two New Song Titles Given in New Brazilian Interview |

Britney recently did an interview with the Brazilian magazine Capricho. In it two new song titles were named. "Toxic Guy" and "Chaotic". Thanks to >>BritneyNow for the original interview in Portuguese. I translated it into English for the rest of us.
-Avril made some comments about u? Brit:Who? -Avril Lavigne Brit: Honestly i don't really know her that well but i really don't care what she says. But the music she makes is great. What I do know is that in this life not everyone is gonna like you. -What are your favorite cds? Brit: Black Eyed Peas and Thicke -Who do you admire in pop music? Brit: I love Shakira. I think she's the best. The new Christina Aguilera album is awesome and I love it too. I like Avril's album [Laughs] -Speaking of Christina, [the press] was making her feel bad about her weight lately. Brit: Why? What's wrong with her? -They said she was gettin chubby Brit: That is so sad. She is beautiful. (Literally it's she has a great appearance but that's not good english ) The press always wants to say something. The funny thing is they criticize me for my hair being so neat/clean. They say: "Oh she wants to be perfect. Is this a message we want to send to our kids?" So if i gain 5 kilos(what is that in pounds?) then they change their subject and say that I'm fat. You can't win and I learned that I just have to make me happy.
Review: The cd is 95% dance. Outrageous (for some reason they're saying the album is titled that) They run through the tracks and say that they're well produced and inventive and consistent. They say the album is not personal and does not include a rebuttal to Justin's "Cry Me A River". They say that ironically Britney's first single MATM is the least memorable of her new songs. Then they say that three tracks have the possibility of becoming big hits. Touch Of My Hand, a ballad with a japanese opening then with violins, Outrageous by R.Kelly, the only song Britney did not co-write. and Chaotic where the blonde is once again on fire. (LOL I think they mean sexually)
Part 2
-One of the most danceable songs from your new cd is the song "Toxic Guy". Let me try to understand, is this type of guy good or bad? Brit: The "toxic guy" is in. The guy who never thinks anything is good enough for him, he's not always politically correct, he's not everyone's best friend and he always likes to hear the right voice all the time.(This last sentence got fuddled for me). I like these kind of guys. -Is there a "toxic guy" in your life right now? Brit: No, but we're not even going to get into that because I'm not doing very well in that department. -What's your idea of a good first date? Brit: To be very close the whole time. No, no, close, no. Don't say that I said that. [laughs]. Go to the movies, eat a bag of popcorn, and put the popcorn in the mouth of the other person like it was a game. (Again sentence got kinda fuddled. Not sure if she means feed the other person the popcorn or literally put it in their mouth while its in ur mouth). -Do you have dreams of getting married and living a normal life? Brit: Of course! But maybe that'll happen when I get around 30 or so. Maybe I'll marry, have three kids, a nice house, and lots of time to myself. But honestly, I don't think I'm gonna have that. [laughs] I love what I do and it's hard to think of not doing it one day. -You're a well paid singer. What was your biggest expense recently? Brit: My car, for sure. Also a house in LA, that i just got done selling to Brittany Murphy. -You have a car? Brit: Of course. A Mercedes 500, white and convertible. -Everyone has an opinion about you. Which image of you do you think is most wrong? Brit: There's so many. A lot of people think my life is glamourous but it isn't. Obviously there are days where my hair looks really nice and my make-up is on point, but my day-to-day appearance looks like I'm a contestant on Survivor. -Do you have plans to tour Brasil? Brit: At the moment i have no idea where I will be touring. A good part of the tour will be in the US and only later on can I say what countries I will be visitng. But I want to, I love the way Brazilians dress.

Britney Gets Down With Madonna Again Britney Spears is hooking up with Madonna once again — this time for the first single from her forthcoming album, now titled Get in the Zone.
Though Spears was coy about what the first single would be when MTV News talked to her following her NFL Kickoff Live performance, it turns out that the song she previewed that night, "Me Against the Music," will indeed be her first released track, featuring Madonna. The duo, of course, most recently caused controversy when they locked lips at the MTV Video Music Awards. The single — co-written by Spears and produced by RedZone — ships to radio on September 30, with a video set to premiere on MTV on October 13.
Get in the Zone will feature 13 tracks in all, seven of which were co-written by the singer. Some of the tracks slated to be on the album include "Early Mornin' " (produced by Moby), "Outrageous" (R. Kelly), "Every Time" (Guy Sigsworth) and "Showdown" (Bloodshy & Avant).
There's no word yet if the new track Spears unveiled this weekend in Las Vegas, "Breathe on Me," will also make the final track list. Other songs that could be included on Get in the Zone are "The Answer" (P. Diddy), "Shadow" (the Matrix), "Brave New Girl," and "Touch of My Hand" the latter two of which she previewed for MTV earlier this year.
Get in the Zone is due out November 18.

New York Post's Page Six reported that even though Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck canceled their Santa Barbara wedding, invitee Britney Spears showed up anyway - and proceeded to shop until she dropped. Merchants across the city said Spears, who stayed at the Four Seasons Biltmore under an assumed name, was everywhere last week, turning up at coffee houses, bars, cafes and clothing stores - especially Nordstrom. "She was in the store for hours," Carla Ajan, a Chanel saleswoman at Nordstrom, told The Post's Howard Breuer. Ajan said Spears wore brown velour sweats, pink flip-flops, a white T-shirt off the shoulder with no bra and "an ugly, weird hat." Although Ajan said Spears was OK, others said she snootily refused autographs and pictures. "I asked her for an autograph," said salesman Robert Velasquez. "She said, 'No, I'm busy shopping.' " Shoe salesman Vincent Thomas said Britney reluctantly scribbled an autograph on his business card, but he was too turned off by her attitude to tell his girlfriend, a Britney fan, about it. "I'll let her hold on to her fantasy that Britney Spears is as nice as she appears to be on TV," Thomas said.

Las Vegas Sun reported that partygoers hit the jackpot at the Palms hotel-casino early Sunday morning when singer Britney Spears hit the stage unexpectedly.
The pop star, along with a group of dancers, belted out three songs from her upcoming album at the popular Rain nightclub.
"We tried to keep it a secret," said Rain co-owner Scott DeGraff of the Chicago-based N9NE Group. "We wanted to make it a surprise for people. I know people were shocked. No one knew."
Her performance began about 1 a.m. and lasted thirty minutes.
Not only did the 1,800 people inside Rain get an up close look at Britney, DeGraff said, but they also saved hundreds of dollars a piece. The nightclub did not charge extra for the Britney bash.
DeGraff said MTV was also on hand to film Britney, as were a number of celebrities in Las Vegas for the big boxing match between Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand.
"It was just a crazy night," DeGraff said. "The place was just mobbed." |

Britney Restrains Japanese Fan Again |

E! Online reported that Britney Spears went back to court this week to get a restraining order against a Japanese man she claims has been stalking her, her reps confirmed Friday. Spears was granted a restraining order on Monday against Masahiko Shizawa, a businessman who has allegedly been too much of a slave 4 the popster.
This is the second time Britney has been forced to sic her legal eagles on Shizawa.
Earlier this year, she retracted her initial request for a restraining order after she reached an out-of-court agreement with the man in which he promised to stop calling and faxing her with remarks like "I'm chasing you."
But, according to Camp Britney, Shizawa "violated the terms," forcing her to obtain a permanent restraining order.
According to a publicist for Spears, the 43-year-old Shizawa has not given up his fixation on the 21-year-old Madonna smoocher. In recent months, he has resumed faxing and writing notes to the platinum popster.
In one missive, Shizawa writes, "There remains serious personal issues to be resolved [between us]," according to the syndicated TV show Celebrity Justice. Another message reads, "I hope to find a job around her."
Such evidence was enough to sway Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Alan B. Haber, who barred Shizawa from contacting Spears and coming within 300 yards of the entertainer. The judge has set a court date to decide whether to make the order permanent on Sept. 29.
When Spears first lashed out at Shizawa last December, the man's attorney, Simon Robert Hiller, maintained that his client has been mislabeled a stalker, when in fact the intimate letters, photos and unsolicited visits were the actions of an "avid fan" and said the request for a restraining order was the result of a "cultural misunderstanding."
The so-called misunderstanding included, according to Britney's peeps, Shizawa "tracking" Spears beginning in September 2002, shadowing her from her homes in Los Angeles, where he allegedly tried to bust in, and New York to her divorced parents' domiciles in Louisiana, all the while sending her hundreds of love letters and photos.
Since Spears filed her original request, Shizawa's visa has expired and he has been forced to return to his hometown of Yokohama, Japan. Hiller, who called his client a "smart guy," said the computer programmer hopes to return to the U.S. once his legal woes are resolved.

Newsweek: Britney’s Next CD: Hot or Not? |

|
In the September 22nd issue of Newsweek, they had an article titled, "Britney’s Next CD: Hot or Not?".
Former teen pop queen Britney Spears may have more than just a kiss in common with Madonna—like declining record sales. Spears’s fourth album, tentatively due in stores in mid-November, will likely be one of the holiday season’s biggest sellers. But early handicappers say expectations are much lower than for both 2000’s “Oops! I Did It Again,” which sold 9.1 million copies, and even for her 2001 follow-up, “Britney,” which sold less than half that.
INDUSTRY WATCHERS PREDICT that this year’s album, which Spears has described as “very moody,” could fare far worse. “Maybe her newness has worn out,” says Greg Mize, spokesman for Handleman Co., which distributes music to more than 2,700 Wal-Mart and Kmart stores. “I suppose it depends on how you measure success. There’s still excitement around her.”
There’s still excitement around Madonna, too, but that didn’t help her most recent album, “American Life,” which debuted at No. 1, then plummeted. (The album has sold only 578,000 copies to date, and a ho-hum Gap ad hasn’t helped matters.) It’s too soon to be sure how Britney’s new album will do, but in the meantime she’s staying busy weaving Madonna-esque mystique. In a recent interview on CNN, she spoke fondly of her girl-on-girl smooch before declaring her unwavering trust in George W. Bush and his war efforts. Sounds like somebody who isn’t quite sure who her audience is. |

Lynne's Corner has been updated. From BritneySpears.com:
Summer is officially over. Britney's work on promoting her new CD has gotten underway with her performance at the VMA's, an NFL Kickoff appearance and numerous magazine covers. Look for Britney in the upcoming editions of Rolling Stone, Esquire and Glamour.
The first single is coming out soon with a surprise for everyone (including me, somewhat)! Britney is eager to get her show on the road. Vacation is nice, but short lived at 21 years old. I never think I have enough time with her, but they all say I whine too much. Oh well!
At least there isn't a boyfriend in the picture that I have to compete with--- yet!
Britney will be in Los Angeles soon. We should have almost a week together before JamieLynn and I head back to Louisiana. It's time for JamieLynn to hook up with her junior high school cheerleading squad at home. Britney and Bryan might not get to see many games this year because of their hectic schedules. JamieLynn and I love Los Angeles, but it feels so good to go home to who and what we know and love best. |

MSNBC reports IN ADDITION to Madonna, stars such as Roseanne, Naomi Campbell, Elizabeth Taylor and Barbra Streisand have all reportedly studied Kabbalah as taught by Rabbi Berg at the super-trendy Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles.
Kabbalah is an ancient form of study of Jewish text, but the Kabbalah Center has come under attack from traditional Jewish scholars.
“Madonna seems to be the high priestess of proselytizing for the Bergs and the Kaballah Centre,” Rick Ross, an expert on cults and alternative religions who has been an outspoken critic of the Kabbalah Centre, tells The Scoop. “No doubt she’s pitched it to anyone with a brain in their head, and that might include Ms. Spears.”
A Spears spokeswoman confirms the story. “Britney was introduced to Kabbalah through her friendship with Madonna,” the rep tells the Scoop. “She is now learning more about it.” |

Here is part of the article from the October 2nd issue of Rolling Stone: Two pairs of lips, a little tongue. Nothing odd for cable television, even if it was two women. Still, when Britney Spears kissed Madonna on the MTV Video Music Awards -- a lip lock that seemed designed to prove that both women were still capable of causing a sensation -- it became headline news. "Tonsil hockey," leered the New York Daily News. "Booty bouncing," seconded the New York Post. "Sorry," said the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which had to apologize after outraged readers objected to a Page One photo of the kiss. Even CNN's Crossfire got into the act, featuring Spears one-on-one with Tucker Carlson -- a bow-tie-wearing conservative better known for sparring with the likes of Hillary Clinton. Spears said that, no, she'd never kissed a woman before, and, yes, maybe she would again, if it was Madonna. She also revealed that the kiss had been rehearsed, and all involved had agreed to see how it felt in the moment. Though she denies it, even more was rehearsed: Madonna playfully slapping Spears' ass -- a moment that didn't make it on the air.

From BritneySpears.com:
JamieLynn and I are going home for a visit next week. Britney won't be coming with us because there's so much work to do with dance rehearsals and the new album. Bryan and Lauren have been with us in California for the past week. Lauren is working with the Pepsi Smash show and Bryan is out here for meetings.
It's been great having my 3 children all under one roof. Bryan and Lauren bought a French Bulldog puppy when they first got here. He's "kinda cute" but still has a long way to go with house training. Good luck to them on their new endeavor!
Britney is making lots of decisions with the first single, new dancers, band, backup singers, etc. She's also embarking on a couple of TV projects.
Summer is nearing an end and it feels like it just began. There's so much going on I can hardly keep it straight. Thank God for Felicia!! |

Justin Timberlake bans all blonde women from appearing in his videos - because they remind him of ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
The hunky pop star has appeared getting intimate with brunettes in all of his four solo videos, with new promo I'm Loving It featuring another sexy dark-haired girl.
Only Cry Me a River featured a blonde - but that was a pointed dig at Spears, as the video suggested the Britney look-a-like cheated on Justin.
A record company insider tells Britain's HEAT magazine, "Justin has made it crystal clear that they aren't welcome. And because he personally chooses the dancers and actresses who appear, it's got to the point where the casting directors know not to bother auditioning blondes."

Britney Describes New Album As "Trance-y" and More |

Britney Spears has enlisted Moby, the Matrix and R. Kelly to produce tracks on her next album, due in November. She describes the new material as a departure from her previous three records. "I'd describe it as trance-y," Spears says. "Kind of a vibe record. Something you could listen to that's not so song structured." After getting personal on her last album, 2001's Britney, Spears says the new album is a little more distant. "This record is definitely personal to me," she says. "But it's not shockingly personal. I think once you start being so self-serving with your music . . . I did a little bit of that with my last record, and I really didn't want to put myself out there that much."
Spears has spent much of past year in New York working on record. The Moby collaboration, "Early Mornin'," sounds like the aftermath of one of Spears' much publicized late nights at bars. "It's about going out at night and feeling like shit the next day," she says.
The Matrix production and songwriting team contribute "Shadow," which sounds like a mid-Nineties Aerosmith ballad, while Kelly wrote and produced "Outrageous." And the lyrical fare is considerably less innocent than that found on Oops! . . . I Did It Again, with lines like: "Oh, it's so hot, and I need some air/Boy, don't stop, 'cause I'm halfway there . . ."
"Of course I'm not doing '. . . Baby One More Time' and those big, massive hits anymore," Spears says. "I think this record is where I'm at right now in my life. It's sensual, it's sexual . . . I'm probably writing about that subconsciously because I don't have that right now."

Britney Spears debuted the first full song off her upcoming record Thursday on ABC's "NFL Kickoff Live," but despite the primetime unveiling, "Me Against the Music" isn't necessarily going to be the new disc's first single.
Wearing a cropped referee's shirt, Spears performed a medley of "... Baby One More Time" and "I'm a Slave 4 U" after finishing the RedZone-produced dance tune, which features a near rap and tribal rhythms. "Dance all night," she exhorts on the song, demanding that "All the people in the crowd, grab a partner, take it down/ All my people in the crowd, let me see you dance."
Speaking to MTV News prior to her performance, Spears would only confirm that a video shoot for the first single is taking place in the next two weeks. "I can't tell you what the first single is going to be," Spears said, "but there are some surprises that are going to come up in the song that I'm really excited about." The single is scheduled to arrive at radio outlets October 6 and the video will follow a week later.
One of her producers, P. Diddy, spoke to MTV News last week about a song he was working on with Spears, but at the time it had no title. This week it does: "The Answer."
"I was very impressed with [Diddy]," Spears said. "He's very family-man-oriented, he brought his kids in. His studio and the people he works with, the people he does tracks with, are, like, amazing. He's a cool guy."
Spears also had high praise for Moby, who worked with her on the mid-tempo "Early Morning."
"He's such a pure-hearted guy," she said. "He's so cool. He just played me a really cool track, and I thought it was brilliant. I just came up with stuff to go over it, and I hope he likes it. I don't know if he's heard it yet, but I like it. It's one of my favorite tracks on the record."
The track is a day-after hangover song, balancing other party-hard tunes that might make the album. "Some songs are just written generally about going out and wanting to have a good time," she said. "I was writing about a lot of stuff in general — going out with my girlfriends, everyday experiences I was going through.
"Like, 'Early Morning' is basically talking about just going out and feeling bad the next day, and 'Touch of My Hand' is about, you know, touch of my hand," she continued. "You'll have to hear the song and get your own interpretation of what you think it's about. Other songs are just very sensual, very sensual songs."
A single girl for the past year, Spears said she's trying hard not to let anything from her romantic life influence the record.
"Some people choose to put on their records stuff that's very, very personal to them. It's just my personal opinion, but that's exposing yourself a little bit too much. I don't feel comfortable doing that. So, my personal life? I've learned my lesson is to just keep it to yourself. I don't think it's cool to do that at other people's expense, if you understand what I'm trying to say. That's not what it's about for me personally. Some people, they like to bring other things into it, and that's fine. They've got to go to bed with that at night."
Right now, the main thing on Spears' mind is keeping things off her mind, so she can focus on completing the album, which is due November 25.
"I'm thinking about it now, like, 'Oh my God, you know what? I can't think about it,' " she said. "You just have to do it, let it come out, and pray people like it. Honestly, when you're in the studio, all you can do ... is just go inside yourself, and trust me, I've had time to do that. You just really go there and do what feels right. And it's not about selling 50 million records. It's just expressing myself the way I want to express myself, and as long as you do that and you're happy with that, that's all that matters."
No track list is available for the as-yet-untitled album, since Spears is still recording, her label spokesperson said.

Sky News reports Raunchy singer Christina Aguilera has angrily confronted pop princesses Britney Spears over their lesbian kisses with Madonna.
The steamy scenes stunned guests at the recent MTV Video Music Awards - but Aguilera now claims Britney is trying to muscle in on her image.
The pair are reported to have had a bust-up in a Hollywood nightclub last weekend following the New York bash.
The Daily Star said Christina was angry that she had helped Britney "sex-up" her image.
She accused her former Mousketeer colleague of mimicking her saucy style in an attempt to boost record sales.
But Britney has soothed relations by calling Aguilera to make peace, a Spears aide told the paper.
The blonde bombshell was even said to have talked her rival into another lesbian-style clinch on stage.
"Christina was pretty furious that she'd unwittingly helped helped to vamp-up Britney's career," the aide said.
"They had some pretty strong words it in the club and there was some bad feeling.
"Luckily, Britney managed to calm Christina down and explained that it was good for her as well.
"Christina eventually realised that and was even talked into doing it again next year." |

They just did a quick segment on MTV with the news 10 to the hour about Britney's NFL performance and apparently they talked to her. She said the track that she did with P.Diddy, which is called "The Answer" will MOST LIKELY make the album. She also said that "Early Morning", the midtempo song she did with Moby is about hangovers. "Touch Of My Hand" Britney said she will leave open to interpretation. She said she would not say whether or not it is about masturbation. Also the album according to Britney will be "very sensual". Stay tuned for an official single, release date and more! |

All the people in the crowd Grab a partner, take it down It's just me, it's just me against the music, yeah
It's whipping my hair It's pulling my waist The sweat is dripping all over my face I'm the only one dancing up in this place To the beat of the drum, gotta get with that bass
I'm up against the speaker Trying to take on the music It's like a competition Lyric is the beat I wanna get in the zone I wanna get in the zone
If you really wanna ride Saddle up and and get ya rhytm Try to hit it, you could die In a minute, I'ma take ah ya on, I'ma take ah ya on
All my people on the floor, let me see you dance All my people up for more, let me see you dance All my people round and round, let me see you dance All my people in the crowd, let me see you dance
Let's take on the song, let's take on the song All night long, woo
We're almost there I'm feelin' it bad and I can't explain I feel the burn My hips are movin' at a rapid pace I feel it burn From the tip of my toes, runnin' through my veins You lose your turn Let me see what you got, don't hesitate
Get on the floor, baby lose control Just work your body and let it go If you wanna party, just grab somebody Hey baby, we can dance all night (Dance all night)
M-A-G-N-E-T (MAD!)

I wasn't going to post this but since other websites have been posting this, I'd like to post it as well. Some websites have been posting that Jive and the NFL have asked to take down the video and audio of Britney's performance and the 2003 NFL Kickoff. Some websites have already taken the videos down because the state that they have already been contacted on the matter. As of right now, it is still a rumor. We have not been contacted by Jive Records and/or the NFL on the matter and if we do, we will validate the contact and then hereby agree to take down any media associated with the performance...but until then the video will stay up. |

So, how did Britney Spears' parents react when the 21-year-old pop star locked lips with Madonna on the MTV Video Music Awards?
"Well, my mom liked it actually. I was really kind of nervous! I was like, `Oh my God, my mom ... she's going to see this!'" Spears told Billy Bush in an interview on "Access Hollywood." Excerpts from Thursday night's show were released in advance.
"But no, she liked it! And my dad, weirdly enough, he thought it was fine, too. I mean, come on ... it's Madonna. If you can kiss any girl in the world, that has to be her."
Spears said she had butterflies before the smooch on the Aug. 28 awards show in New York City.
"Oh I was very nervous and very shy," she said. "Like honestly, just being with Madonna, she has this presence about her. ... I mean I'm a shy person in general, but I got very intimidated and I was like, not myself. I was not the confident Britney, you know?
"And she just has this way about her, but at the same time it was very inspiring because it humbled me and it gave me something to look up to, you know?"
Spears said the kiss was Madonna's idea.
"It was not my idea," Spears said. "No, but she threw it around a couple times in rehearsals ... she just kinda said, `You know, do what you feel in the performance ... just go with it and see how what happens' and that's kind of what happened."
Who's the better kisser? Madonna or actor Colin Farrell?
"Oh my gosh!" Spears exclaimed. "They're both amazing kissers!"

A Fan's Report From The NFL Kickoff |

Ricky was to tired to post his fan report from the NFL Kickoff Live event after his long day there, so I am doing it for him.
Aight I went to that huge concert today and boy I had a good time but it was CROWDED! First off it is so funny how ABC tried to pass off the whole concert as being "live" at 8PM. HA! They filmed that thing in parts. Good Charlotte played a 35 minute set then they came out to film the performance of "The Anthem". The most annoying thing was the LONG breaks in between performances. After Good Charlotte we waited almost half an hour for Mary J to come out! It was ridicolous. Normally it wouldn't be so bad because we would be in an area and you are seated in chairs and such but we were on the mall, the floor was mushy, wet, and muddy and with so many people crowded around it smelled like HOT ASS.
The part about Britney's performance, it is so weird the difference between being there and watching it on TV. Live you should have seen the crowd. We were going NUTS for her. At least in the back. Before we even got to see Britney, after Mary J, we had to wait yet ANOTHER half hour. Soon people became impatient and a small group began chanting and clapping "BRITNEY! BRITNEY! BRITNEY!". When she came out she pretty much had the audience in her hands. At first when she FINALLY appeared and "Me Against the Music" began, people didn't know what to do with it. Some people were bobbin their heads and others just stood there blankly. I was just standing there trying to absorb the song. At first I didn't get it but by the end, the audience, at least my section, LOVED it. We were clapping and whistling for her. During the "Slave/Baby" performance people went ballistic when scripped down to them booty shorts. WOW . Also when we were there live, I could not tell whether "Me Against The Music" was live or not. I couldn't understand a word she was saying and her mic came on late. But on TV I was able to piece that it was partially live. "Baby/Slave" was completely lipped and I must say the dance routine, while I loved that she changed it up, wasn't quite up to par. If Britney is gonna lipsync, fine. But don't use the hand mic and lip because she fumbled with the mic and it was completely far away from her face but the tape was still playing her vocals. yikes. Overall I had a great time and I loved seeing Britney! I had terrible "seats". The people who had the best place were the military and people who won VIP passes from radio contests. I think I got about as far as the General Public could go, unless Maurice got closer.
Read his entire recap along with some pictures that he took from the event on BritneySpearsForum.com! Big thanks goes out to him for writing up this feature. |

Britney Raps On New Album |

Britney Spears has kept most things about her upcoming album under wraps, but at least one of the producers she's collaborated with confirmed what many have speculated — that the singer, like her recent head-turning photo spreads in the New York Times, W and Elle, is definitely going in a more adult direction.
"We went in the studio and cooked up something hot for the dance floor, made something real sexy," P. Diddy told MTV News backstage at the Video Music Awards last week. "It's going to be great."
Diddy declined to give song titles, since the tracks aren't finished and the album isn't due until November. While other producers who have worked with the singer — including Rodney Jerkins, the Neptunes, 7 Aurelius, the Matrix and Fred Durst — have described Britney's new material as having a trip-hop vibe reminiscent of Madonna's "Ray of Light" (see "Who's Been Hooking Up With Britney? We Got 'Em To Talk"), Diddy said Spears actually has a wider range on the upcoming album, which MTV got a sneak preview of earlier this summer (see "Britney Previews LP, Denies Rumors Of 'Cry Me A River' Response").
Besides ballads, dance tracks and Middle Eastern rhythms, Spears also raps on one track, "Brave Girl." "I think she's giving you a lot to work with," Diddy said. "She's broke out of that just pop [style], just being a pop artist. She's being a trendsetter. She has many styles. You don't know how she's going to come and hit you next."
Diddy said he came out of the sessions with a newfound respect for Spears and found that she had taught him a thing or two as well.
"As a performer, as an artist, as a songwriter, she ain't no slouch," he said. "It was great working with her. She was real quick, real quick. I wouldn't go into the studio with nothing that wouldn't motivate me. The way she did it her way, that motivated me to get with her and give her a bit of my flavor mixed with hers, to get her to do something combustionable.
"Is that a word?" he asked, laughing.
Spears plans to unveil two new songs during her performance at the NFL Kickoff concert, which will be televised live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET September 4.

Britney called up Z100 (100.3 in NYC) today and talked to Paul "Cubby" Bryant. She was with Fe and she called from Washington DC where she is getting ready for the NFL Kickoff Live tomorrow night.
Ofcourse during the conversation he brought up the MTV Kiss and asked how'd Maddona's breath taste? and she just laughed! And said she has not had a kiss in a really long time and that will make due for awhile.
He then said, weren't you glad Madonna kissed you first and not Christina? Again, she just laughed.
Cubby then said he had heard some of her new music and said he was really digging it especially one song called "Outrageous"
She said that is not going to be the first single and there will be something even better then that. She confirmed the album is going to be released in November but still not sure when the single will be released.
Next up, they talked about tomorrow night and Britney said her first song that she is going to sing is her favorite off the album except it's not finished yet so it won't sound the same on the album, then up she will do a medley of Slave(IAS4U)/Baby(BOMT). She then joked around that she won't kiss John Madden but maybe Aretha Franklin.
It's awesome how she can just laugh about everything. |

Contact Music reports BRITNEY SPEARS takes slimming pills to maintain her sexy shape, according to a British tabloid newspaper.
The pop princess was outed after dropping a bottle "fat burning" tablets at London's HEATHROW airport yesterday (2SEP03) - before boarding a flight to Los Angeles.
Photographs in the London-based DAILY STAR show Britney grabbing for a blue bottle, which the tabloid claims to have identified as ZANTREX-3 - popular diet supplements.
Zantrex-3, sold over the counter in America, is meant to be used as part of a calorie-controlled diet.
A celebrity spotter at Heathrow backs up the newspaper's claim; "It was definitely a bottle of Zantrex-3. I know what the pills look like.
"Britney seemed very keen to grab the pills before anybody saw what they were. But it was too late."
The 22-year-old pop icon has struggled with her weight in the past. After splitting from JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE last year (MAR02) she reportedly binged and piled on weight - before causing controversy later in the year (02) after collapsing at a concert in the States, with pals blaming a crash diet.
A spokesperson for the singer has yet to verify the claims. |

Britney #1 On The Lycos Top 50 |

Britney moved up one spots this week to #1 on the Lycos 50 for the week ending 08/30/03. She has been on the list for 211 weeks.
From their weekly commentary: So, anything of note happen in the world of entertainment this week?
In case you were too busy looking at Mars (#3) to notice anything on television, Britney Spears (#1) and Madonna (#10) made quite a stir on Thursday night when they kissed each other after a joint performance on the MTV Video Music Awards (#5).
Actually, Christina Aguilera (#15) was involved in the performance as well; Christina and Britney sang a duet on Madonna's classic "Like a Virgin" while wearing what appeared to be lingerie knitted from paper napkins. Then Madonna came out and sang her forgettable new song -- I don't even feel like looking up what song it was, that's how forgettable it is -- and when the music ended she kissed first Christina and then Britney full on the mouth.
The tried and true publicity gambit known as "feign lesbianism" clearly worked. Britney ascended to #1, the Video Music Awards were #5 after ranking only #30 last year, and Madonna moved up to #10, which is actually her highest Lycos 50 rank ever. Christina Aguilera also moved up seven spots, but nearly all the searches for the kiss mentioned Britney and Madonna only.
One can picture Aguilera jumping up and down at the after-show news conferences, screaming "Hey, look at me! I kissed Madonna too! Look at me! Over here, please!" |

Extra TV reported that Britney and Madoona will be on the cover of US Weekly discussing their new friendship.
It's the peck that left Justin stunned and the crowd screaming. Now, Madonna and Britney's lip lock at the MTV Video Music Awards is Us Weekly's cover story. Ken Baker, Us Weekly’s west coast executive editor, tells "Extra" this mouth to mouth is resuscitating debate on just who is Hollywood's hottest pair.
Baker says, "They have been long-time admirers and, in the weeks leading up to the VMAs, they became very close friends."
Madonna has proudly worn her support of Spears in the past, often spotted sporting a Britney Spears t-shirt. The material girl even gave Britney a $15,000 diamond "B" necklace before the VMAs. Madonna has a matching "M" necklace. Baker says, "I think she feels very maternal toward Britney, almost like she's passing the torch."
"Extra" spotted Britney Tuesday morning leaving Madonna's hometown of London with a new souvenir-- a mysterious bandage on her right foot.
Us Weekly also reveals that Jennifer Lopez was asked to perform in Madonna and Britney's kiss off, but Jennifer blocked the idea because she didn't want to wear a wedding dress so close to her actual wedding date with Ben Affleck.
Us Weekly hits stands on Friday.

Yahoo AP reported that The Atlanta Journal-Constitution apologized to readers Monday for using a picture of Britney Spears kissing Madonna on the front page.
The picture, not much bigger than a postage stamp, was near the top of Friday's front page. It showed Spears and Madonna in an open-mouth kiss they shared at the MTV Video Music Awards the night before. A larger version of the picture was in the Living section.
The sloppy kiss picture elicited a deluge of complaints to the newspaper. In Monday's editions, managing editor Hank Klibanoff apologized, saying the picture should have been inside but not on the front page.
Klibanoff compared the Spears picture to graphic images from the war in Iraq.
"We ran images we otherwise might not have run. But that was war, and war was news. The photo we ran Friday was neither, and I wish I had limited its display to the inside of the Living section," Klibanoff wrote in a response to letters on the opinions page. |

Contact Music is reporting that the Former squeaky-clean pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS insisted MADONNA kiss her and CHRISTINA AGUILERA at the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS - in a bid to boost her career.
The BOYS singer, worried about her recent low profile, suggested the saucy idea during rehearsals for the awards ceremony held in NEW YORK on Thursday, and Madonna and Christina were only happy to oblige.
Madonna French-kissed both Britney and DIRRTY singer Aguilera at the end of a raunchy performance of LIKE A VIRGIN.
British tabloid DAILY STAR SUNDAY reports a source as saying, "She took the girls to one side at rehearsals and put the idea forward.
"The other two were more than happy to take part because they knew how much attention it would get - and thought it would be a good laugh. But it was a major departure for Britney because she had this girl next door tag.
"But she wants to show she's more of a woman than a girl - and she certainly showed them that." |
